So I dislocated my knee in January of this year. I was given a device that isolates my knee cap and hold it in place. I wore the device off and on over the year whenever my knee would feel sort of irregular. I worked out routinely to help strengthen my knee, it helped the pain somewhat, but mostly just made me feel better about the way I looked, and kept me healthy. I haven't worked out since some time before Thanksgiving. Starting this week i've started to feel this new akward feeling behind my kneecap, sort of like the ligament behind my knee cap is tightening, sort of similar to how it felt when I dislocated my knee, but not exactly the same. I get the pain after fully bending my knee, for example when I am on my knees doing my job stocking shelves at work, when I stand to my feet I can usually feel the pain. I try doing a couple of different stretches when to make the feeling go away a bit, but it comes back, and then it eventually goes away again.
My knee "pops" (makes a loud popping noise and pressure) pretty regularly now but when I get off of work and off of my knees I experience the discomfort much less. I want to start exercising again on Monday, but I am scared I might dislocate again. I will try using the knee cap device again tomorrow, but I feel as though whenever I use the device, it makes my knee feel like jello the next day, and make me want to use the device again, even though I was advised by my doctor that I should not need to use it regularly. ....
I'm not sure if I can post pictures here to show what I mean. I had my vasectomy 3 days ago. It seems like my left testicle it attached to the incision site. My right one is fine, and hangs where it should, but the left is up high at the base of my penis, eand the incision site is pulled in like a deep dimple. Will this go away on it's own or will I need another surgery?View 1 Replies
The best way about a vasectomy is to NOT have one. Anyone who thinks that they have got away without problems just can not say anything as PVPS can come on at any time until we die I know a friend who is in his mid-seventies and has more pain than in the whole of his life.View 4 Replies

Just to put it bluntly I am 35 years old and honestly I feel like I am 95 and just waiting to take my last breath. This is so crazy that a disease such as acid reflux can make you feel this way. My symptoms to name a few, I can't breathe, I have chest pain, I have the heart palps, I have the heart flutters, I have the chest tightness. The first thing I think of is THIS HAS GOT TO BE MY HEART! But no its the thing called gerd! I quit drinking, I quit smoking, I quit all of the stuff that I loved, and it is still here.View 13 Replies
I have been experiencing horrible head pain for the past 6 months. I've been to a neurologist and had multiple tests (MRI's/CT scans) performed and everything has come back normal. The only thing that has come up has been "lordosis" in my neck and "slight changes in C5 and C6" in my neck. My headaches started back in May when I was moving out of my apartment and seemed to have strained myself. I have been going to a PT and that has not helped. Additionally, I have had 2 nerve blocks, trigger point injections, and dry needling, none of which have helped. I am scheduled to get botox injections in my neck and lower head to hopefully help. Additionally, I am going to a neck/spine specialist. Both happening next week. Can anyone relate to the pain that I have been having? My pain seems to start in my neck and travel all over my head, on one side of head to the other, behind eyes, behind ears, etc. It feels like a stinging, uncomfortable pain. Someone please help, give suggestions, relate to me!! Feeling desperate and feeling like my head will never get better.View 4 Replies
I recently broke my left ring finger, 4 months ago, now slightly below my index finger is a small lump that looks like it is my tendons. This lumps starts a raised line in the center of my hand, proceeds up by my index finger as well as slightly splitting off towards my middle finger. I also have light pain in my hand, especially after I do something with it. Also my finger still feels very strange to move and bring down to my palm. It also is sometimes slightly stiff. The line/lump is what I would describe to be my bone or tendons.View 1 Replies
I'm 47 and have just had an x ray to confirm I have an xtra rib on my left side.My symptoms are mild at present - slight pain, numbness and extreme coldness at times. My doctor advised to do nothing and carry on as I have been. I do some yoga and fitness classes. Are there any specific exercises that help this condition?View 1 Replies
A year ago I got hospitalised for a gunshot wound a couple of centimetres above the knee. I didn't stay long in the hospital, although I've almost lost all my blood. I had excellent care, doctors and nurses were sincere and dedicated.
After I got out my calf was swollen, and painful, I had a splint to support my leg because a major vain in my leg was ruptured and the doctors "fixed it" :) . Of course there were a couple of openings in my calf for the drain, and I got these wounds cleaned and checked regularly. After four weeks I removed the splint, the wounds had crust over them and every thing was relatively ok, and the pain remained.
Over the following weeks the pain decreased gradually, only one spot caused me slight pain, and that is just around the achilles tendon just above the bulging bone above the foot. An area of 15 X 5 cm in the superficial flesh, the pain isn't deep that's why I wrote around the tendon not in it or the like. This area felt very stiff, not swollen, but stiff and painful when pressed.
Also for the calf in general, there was slight stiffness without pain except in the area I aforementioned, this stiffness worsened with walking or effort, and in my hip just right under the bullet wound - behind my knee - there is still a slight sense of tear.
During my time in the hospital, I had antibiotics added to the IV solutions, I still don't know what were these antibiotics until now. But I had augmentin and ceftriaxone prescribed for four weeks, I developed allergy and re-prescribed for ciprofloxacin 500mg triple a day for the rest of the period.
Sorry for the lengthy intro, now to the question matter.
I had the flu a couple of weeks ago, it was bad, I began taking nigella "black seed" oil capsules 400mg triple a day, as I read it kills the virus, and I took vitamin c effervescent tablets. But It didn't work so I took ciprofloxacin 500mg twice a day with it, the flu began to feel better, BUT also the pain in my leg, the sense of tear began to feel better. This got me really alarmed, cause if the pain felt better with antibiotic supported with immune booster supplement, this means there is a resistant infection there. And this is causing me horror actually.
I'm going to see skeletal muscle specialist - don't know what's the word for it - tomorrow, but also I need another opinion.
What could be the pathogen that causes these mild symptoms? Why is it resistive? and is it dangerous/fatal?
also after the flu symptoms cleared, I stopped the antibiotic for a couple of days. The pain and the stiffness in the area I aforementioned came back, but weaker and the slight tear just under the gunshot wound - behind my knee - began to travel upwards my hip, so I continued both nigella oil capsules and ciprofloxacine back immediately.
For the past 18 months I have experienced joint & bone pain, predominantly in my fingers, hands, wrists and elbows but also affecting my forearms, feet, ankles, knees, hips and shoulders. I have spent months trying to ignore it and at other times have kept detailed diaries, but can find no pattern relating to the area and level of pain and what I may have been doing, eating, drinking or how well I've slept.
I am nearly always fatigued ... I do work hard but even when I have time off, I'm exhausted to the point of needing to nap or walking around like a zombie. I used to run a lot and completed marathons, but now can't face a short jog.
Whenever I go to give blood, 4 out of 5 times my blood is too low in iron. It's not considered a dangerously low level for me but it is too low for the blood service to accept. The last time I went I succeeded in giving blood but was borderline and they only just accepted me.
Diarrhea; like many women I usually have this around the first couple of days of my cycle. However in recent months this is happening more frequently. Again there is no pattern relating to what I eat, where I eat or who prepared it. When it happens I get cramps and an urgency to go, but no nausea, sickness or loss of appetite.
Finally, I've recently begun getting pins and needles in one hand / fingers in a pattern that suggests carpal tunnel syndrome. It lasts for a few days then fades.
All of these things could be related or entirely unrelated, I just don't know. Also, one or two on their own might be easier to deal with but combined they can really get be down. My doctor has recently given me blood tests for arthritis and they came back normal. Any other ideas please?

had a vasectomy march 13 2015. returned to work the following monday after 2 days of rest. after 10 days i went back due to pain in my right testicle and the fact that is was sitting way to high. dr said everything looked ok and not to worry. 2 weeks later i went back again due to the same issues. once again, he said everything looked fine but that he wanted to see me back in 2 months to see if i am still having the same problems. as i sit her typing, i still have pain in my right ball, and a pain in my lower abdomen on the right side, and my right ball still sits too high. i have about 6 weeks before i go back to the dr. anybody else have this problem?View 6 Replies
I had a no-scalpel vasectomy just over a month ago. After the first week, I noticed the cut ends of my vas (the part inside my scrotum that goes up into my body) were staying stiff, swollen and painful; the left side more than the right. After another week, I made a "nurse's visit" to the doctor because he was too busy for an appointment. He came in, gave my testicles a quick grab and declared the swelling and stiffening a normal inflammatory response.
It's now been two more weeks and the condition has not improved significantly. Physical activity (like yard work) and certain clothing increase the irritation and makes the inflammation worse.
Am I just a slow healer and this will eventually go away? Or have I settled into a known permanent side effect?
I have lived with pain in my testicles ever since I made the biggest mistake of my life by having a vasectomy. This operation just has to be the most stupid thing I`ve ever done.
It was told it was ¬nothing much` but have been in pain for over sixteen years and it only gets worse. The long term risks have not been well enough explained and is much more common than was told to me.
The best advise I could give anyone thinking about the snip is DON`T
Not told about post vasectomy pain by Dr ,Which affects approx 5% of patients with some like myself pain does not go away , Treatments have poor success rate .A good Dr will clearly tell you this and you can then make your own mind up but Many don't as most men are put off when they find this out ! Do your research first before the Quick Snip leaves you with long term pain that can be very difficult if not impossible to get rid off .View 3 Replies
My husband had a vasectomy 2 weeks ago. 4 days after the operation he had severe pain and his testicles swelled up to double the size they normally are. We went back to the doctor and he said that he had a rare infection - put him on antibiotics and pain meds.
The antibiotics are now finished and although the swelling has gone down, his left testicle is rock hard and hasn't dropped. It is still painful sometimes and the pain runs up to and around to his lower back. We've been phoning the Urologist every day but he's either in theater or his is busy and doesn't return our calls.
Could it be possible that something went wrong? What can be done to fix the problem? And is it safe to resume normal sexual intercourse I'm afraid something bad will happen!
I just had a complicated vasectomy. I had an undescended testicle when I was 12 that had a lot of scar tissue around it. The urologist that I saw said no problem but it would be done in the hospital because he had a hard time feeling the vas tube on the repaired testicle. He said it would take 10 minutes and it ended up taking a hour. He told me I would be sore for a long time, and he was right. It has been 2 weeks and I have begun to get morning erections. There is a string/tube that seems to be stretching around the base of my penis. It is painful when stretched. It seems to lead to the incision by the repaired testicle. Do you think the urethra tube that goes into my penis got sutured into the incision area? I urinate fine. Also, one vas tubes were described as pink-tan rubbery tissue and the one from the repaired one was described as white rubbery tissue. Do I need to be watchful of testicular cancer?View 2 Replies
I only know 4 people that have had the snip and two of us have had big problems. I had the snip two months ago and am only just beginning to get over it. I immediately had an infection which caused my bollocks to swell like a melon- this burst the stitches and i got a secondary infection in the wound which no amount of antibiotics would get rid of so the doc had to put Silver nitrate on it to burn it shut. This let to a kidney infection and the pain is only just beginning to subside. I was seriously worried that i would never return to normal life but there is now light at the end of the tunnel for me. Some of the other poor bastards whose stories i've read make me so sad. Men are not informed of the potential pain or risks. If i had known how much it would damage me i would never have had it done - what's so bad about condoms anyway?View 18 Replies
