Arm/Wrist/hand Pain :: Cortisone Injections? Horror Stories

My husband has been suffering with a pain in his right arm for a few months now. He saw the doctor and he diagnosed it as tennis elbow, he did do a lot of fence painting in the summer, the doc has suggested a cortisone injection in the elbow, just wondering if anyone has had one and are they of any benefit as I've read some horror stories where the pain has been twice as bad afterwards?

However since October 2013 I have not only suffered severe headaches I have had increased headaches using computers, phones, reading and can not even go near a tv screen without setting off a major migraine attack.

I am currently taking lamotrigine and zonisamide for my migraines.

Vasectomy :: Don't Go For It - Post Vasectomy Pain Syndrome (PVPS)

Temporomandibular Joint Replacement? Success Stories - Anyone?

I've had TMJ/TMD issues for 33 years after a dog bite at 12. In total I've had 5 surgeries on both sides of my jaw with a 6th to repair an ear canal and eardrum that a surgeon cut into while in surgery. The last time I had surgery it was a 10 hour surgery with 2 doctors, one on each side. So needless to say I'm not looking forward to any more.

I seem to grow bone in the left joint space (my disk and ball joint are long gone) and the right side my body absorbs the tissue they put in and I', bone on bone. Therefore I'm living with daily chronic pain for the last 20 years.

I've heard that the joint replacement has gotten better. It doesn't take away all pain, but it's a different pain.

Orlistat :: Any Positive Feedback / Experience / Stories?

I've recently gotten a prescription for xenical online...I plan to start taking the tablets on Monday when 1. I've the money to buy them & 2. I've a wedding this weekend so that would be a waste

I've been reading your pages and I'm really impressed with everyone's hard work & commitment. I'm just a little worried though as most the threads speak of little progress & weight gain. I recently turned 28 and I'm 5ft 4inchs and 179lbs. I've been overweight for my entire 20's and I'm fed up with being fat, insecure & unhappy with how I look. I'm putting a lot of pressure on these tablets to work for me but I got a fright when I read the discussions on slow progress /weight gain etc...can people share their good experiences here with me? I need the motivation & positive stories to start this journey. I don't want to turn 29 & still be the same....

Had Microfracture W/BMAC And PRP For OCL Of Left Ankle Today

Figured I'd try to recount my experiences on here. Surgery was totally fine -- was unaware of everything. Believe I was given a nerve block so I still can't feel my left leg, but trying to get ahead of the pain with Rx from doctor.

Currently elevating leg and will try to move as little in next two weeks I have off from work as possible. Went to the bathroom today even and am still paying for it a few hours later.

Staying positive -- that's the most important thing!

Had Flexible Sigmoidoscopy Today - Polyp Removed From Rectum

Had the much dreaded Flexible Sigmoidoscopy today. I was determined that I would be sedated after reading the posts on here.

As it turned out, sedation didn't happen and I can honestly say that it wasn't as bad as I had feared. Yes, it was uncomfortable and it was weird seeing my insides on the screen.

I even watched the consultant remove a polyps from my rectum - no pain felt at all.

Probably the worst part of it all was the wind pains afterwards, which fortunately didn't last too long. I have no idea just how much air they pumped in, but it felt like a lot came out!

I guess I just want to give some reassurance to anyone having to go through this procedure. It probably won't be as bad as you fear.

Hemorrhoids :: THD 12 Days Post Op - Passed A Pile Today?

I had my THD op 12 days ago. The usual pain and discomfort but no blood until today. Today however I went to the loo and passed enough to make the pan red without straining too much. 4 hours later I passed more with a lump of non poo material in it. Would this be a tied off roid? Bleeding stopped very quickly and no pain. Any ideas?

Colonoscopy :: Worried About The Procedure

I too am terrified of having a colonoscopy scheduled for this Friday. I have read the different experiences and don't know what to think as the experiences are so varied. Last year I had a flexi sigmoidoscopy without sedation, or pain relief, which was okay - just a bit uncomfortable. A polyps was found and therefore the doctor wants to check for more higher up. But the colonoscopy seems to be more undignified and painful. I do not want to be sedated as (a) I need to keep my memory for work; (b) I do not like being out of control; and (c) I have read some awful experiences of people being sedated. Therefore I am just going to have the pain relief. During the flexi I was embarrassed at the sensation of wind needing to be released and regardless of being told it is part of everyday work for the medics - it is not for me. This adds to the undignified process. So, although intellectually I know that having a colonoscopy will save my life, I am still very worried about the prep, the procedure and of course the results.
