Undiagnosed Abdominal Pain :: Burping, Cramps And Diarrhea
Constant for the past 3 months and doctor thought it was just heartburn but medicine isn't working. Cramps are through my whole stomach. I'm only 12.
View 1 RepliesUndiagnosed Symptoms :: Nausea / Exhaustion?
I am 20 years old and it's been at least 4 years since I started experiencing these symptoms. I am unable to perform normally in life (I have been struggling to live normal life up until now, I can't just take it anymore.) I'm from Czech republic so pardon my poor language skills.
These are symptoms I experience:
1) sore/stiff muscles, stiff neck, my muscles slightly hurt me when I stretch
2) being weak, tired, exhausted, feeling fatigue/nausea - nowadays basically to the point where I don't get up from bed whole day if I don't have to, this can go on for months even (when I have holidays)
3) permanently yellow/orange-ish stool no matter what food I eat. Eating fried food sometimes makes me feel worse. I think I also often go to the toilet - once every 3 hours. Similar for water: I drink usually 3 litres a day through the day and my bladder hurts me very slightly all the time - the more I drink, the more it starts to hurt.
4) symptoms as if I had mild cold all the time - permanently stuffy nose, sweating (it goes like this - I start to feel cold but when I get into warm environment, I start to sweat)
5) visual snow, feeling dreamy (aka depersonalization/derealization)
6) generally unspecified weird/unpleasant/painful sensations across whole body
Symptoms never go away, no matter how much I rest (when I don't rest, it obviously worsens them a lot).
Cold weather feels very bad to me so symptoms probably get little worse when its fall/winter.
I have undergone mononucleosis over a year ago, but as I said, I had the symptoms even before. It's however possible that mononucleosis worsened it.
I have been to several medical places during this year including gastroenterology (stool/blood/gastroscopy, ultrasound of my guts), oncology (blood test, it's known that I have 2 genes that make me more prone to cancer - family origin), immunology (blood test) and infections department (blood test).
All the results were negative except the few that had border values - smooth muscle antibody and something that indicated that I must have undergone lyme disease some time ago. (and the results from oncology)
I tried taking vitamins, magnesium (with B6 and B12 vitamins or so) and supplement that supports liver function (contains choline and few other things). It does not do anything.
As of the fact that I must have undergone lyme disease some time ago, I was prescribed antibiotics for 15 days, I have been taking them for 7 days now but I don't feel any better. Well they make me feel somewhat fresher, but all my symptoms persist.
I tried I think 2 or 3 kinds of probiotics but it did not help. I was also prescribed pills at gastroenterology to slower indigestion process (or something) 6 months ago, but I haven't started taking them yet.

View 2 RepliesLactose Intolerance - Diarrhoea, Nausea, Vomiting, Abdominal Cramps, Brain-fog, Anxiety Attacks
I have just been diagnosed with lactose intolerance. After, literally years of suffering, I finally have an answer to my problems. I was just wondering if anyone else out there has this and what you suffered? I mean, this seemingly little thing has caused me to become bedridden! I ate a diet LOADED with lactose prior to diagnosis and honestly felt like I was dying over the last two years in particular. I had severe diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting, abdominal cramps, brain-fog, anxiety attacks...the list goes on... I had my appendix out in Oct 2013 too, which I can't be sure was related, but it was horrendously painful any way!
The symptoms I had, I put down to various things and was convinced I had parasites, which I don't have. I just could not fathom why I was so ill. I had a food intolerance test and eggs came up positive, so I eliminated them from my diet at the time, but I had little relief as I was still eating a high-lactose diet, not knowing that I was intolerant.
I have now eliminated all lactose AND eggs from my diet and in one day, I felt better. I had no abdominal pain, no urgency to poo, and no headache - which I have literally, constantly had for years. It's remarkable. I also didn't suffer bad dreams, which is so weird, as I have actually become used to my dreams being bad/negative and it became normal for me. It's such a relief to be able to rest without disruption!
Did or do any of you suffer with really bad symptoms down to lactose intolerance? Also, as I am new to this and have had to overhaul my diet, does anyone have advice on foods I should avoid, etc?
Thanks!
Undiagnosed Abdominal Pain
About a week ago, I was experiencing right upper quad pain. It hurt and burned and radiated to my back and in the middle of my shoulder, I was also feeling pain down toward my navel and was increasingly more uncomfortable. I went to the doctor and he laid me down and pressed on areas asking me if I hurt,,,at one point when he pressed on the gallbladder areas, I expressed severe pain and then when he pressed on my right lower quad, I actually screamed and wanted to come off the table, tears springing to my eyes. At that time I was not running a fever, was eating a bit and was not "presenting" like it was anything serious, so he sent me home with a prescription for Vicodin and said if the pain gets worse go to the ER.
Now a week later, I am in near constant pain...my upper right quad and my lower right quad feel like I've been kicked or beat. I am nauseated, I have not gotten sick, I have been running a slight fever of 99.7 and have been having really loose stools with a little mucus in it.. Also, when I do have a BM my right side feel like it is being ripped in two. last night I was trying to eat some baked chicken and I couldn't do it, I also felt two pops in my lower right quad, that made me see stars for a few minute.
Undiagnosed Abdominal Pain, Back Pain, Diarrhea, Fatigue, Loss Of Appetite
I'm 16 years old, and I have now been sick for over a month (I first got sick at the end of November). I have been experiencing stomach pain/discomfort that comes and goes. It is generally all through the middle of my abdomen, but I have also noticed that I sometimes get sharp, shooting pains on the left side. The pain is worse after I eat, and it doesn't matter what I eat, the pain is still there. I don't have much of an appetite, but I have been trying to eat because I know that I should. This is extremely difficult, though. I have lost almost 10 pounds in the past month because I haven't been eating much, and really don't feel like eating. I've also been having horrible diarrhea.. sometimes I will need to use the washroom three or four times a day. I have tried taking Imodium for the diarrhea, but I always end up extremely constipated.. and the diarrhea only returns (I might have one regular bowel movement, but after that the diarrhea just comes back). I'm exhausted as well. I just want to sleep all the time, and I find it hard just to keep my eyes open throughout the day. My lower back is also constantly aching.. I just do not feel well at all.
I have been to see my doctor 4 times because I just don't seem to be getting any better. He initially thought that I had a viral infection, but after I did not improve after two weeks, he decided to run some tests. I gave a urine sample and he said that I probably had a kidney infection (but he wasn't 100% sure because I had my period when I gave the sample). He put me on medication, and sent me for blood work. I also had to give a stool sample. All of my tests came back normal, but the medication didn't help at all. The next time I saw him, he said that I might have an ulcer, and put me on apo-omeprazole, which I have been taking for about two weeks now. I'm also on medication for a case of bronchitis.
I am incredibly frustrated because nothing seems to alleviate my symptoms. I have missed 15 days of school because I just feel terrible. My parents think that I might be making it all up, or that it's all in my head, and my doctor has suggested the same thing (he told me that there was "absolutely no reason" a person my age would be experiencing symptoms like this for so long. I am NOT making this up, and I know that it ISN'T all in my head. I just wish that someone would actually take me seriously and believe me when I say that something is wrong. I have an ultrasound scheduled for Tuesday, but I just don't know how to cope at school until then. I'm also scared that the ultrasound will come back normal, just like all the other tests I've had done. Has anyone experienced anything like this before? I'm desperate for answers and ways that I can cope.. I want to get back to school and my life.
Undiagnosed :: Abdominal And Back Pain After Eating Solid Foods
I'm getting a little desperate here. For the last four days every time I attempt to eat solid food within 20 minutes I get extremely severe pain that begins behind the lower section of my rib cage on the left side of my body. The pain continues to increase and within minutes all of the muscles in my mid back start cramping. The symptoms continue for anywhere from an hour and a half to two hours. When they ease, I'm left feeling nauseated and my back feels bruised from the cramping. I can drink liquids without any adverse effect as long as I drink them slowly, but even minimal attempts at solid food cause problems. For instance, I was able to have a bowl of tomato soup eaten slowly over the course of an hour without having problems, and I was able to eat a bowl of chicken broth very slowly without triggering any pain. However, when I attempted to eat a bowl of cream of chicken soup with small chicken chunks in it, I got the pain and back cramps. Even something as simple as a piece of bread or a few bites of saltine crackers is enough to trigger the pain. The doctors have no clue what's wrong. One of them even tried to say it was gas. Umm, no, it's not gas. And I don't think it's an ulcer. I've been on Prilosec for years for GERD, and the pain doesn't feel like it's actually in my stomach. It feels higher and more to the left than where my stomach is. Has anyone else had to deal with anything like this?
View 14 RepliesUndiagnosed Symptoms :: Fatigue, Exhaustion And Muscle Aches
I'm a 28 year old male. Over the past couple years my health has been steadily deteriorating.
Physical Issues:-
- Weight gain. 1-2 years gained 40lbs. (Now closing in on 295lbs)
- Unable to lose weight. Cut calories, ate better food, worked out with a trainer 4-5 days a week, 2.5 hours a day for a month and lost 2lbs. Muscle gain did not account for the lack of weight loss.
- knee pain (for 4-5 years). X-rays came back negative.
- legs are constantly overheated, and warm to the touch.
- exhaustion, all the time. To the point where it affects my life.
- no interest in anything due to always being tired.
- caffeine has no effect. Never drank coffee in my life, but started drinking black coffee and had no effect.
- constantly feeling 'I can't', whenever something comes up.
Doctors suggestions:-
-Doctor treated this as depression. I went on Celexa for 5 months and all that did was make things worse. Increased weight gain, more tired, more emotional, more depressed.
- I also saw a psychologist for about 10 sessions, but this was not very effective as I didn't have any specific trauma events.
- blood work and urine came back normal. No thyroid issues, no diabetes, nothing.
I keep trying to get healthy, but I can't shake this 'cloudy' feeling and exhaustion all the time.
I don't know if anyone can think of what this could be? I know I need to get more active, but like I said above my body and mind keep telling me 'I can't'...and no amount of caffeine helps.
Undiagnosed :: Muscle Cramps With Stinging Pain In My Calf And Legs
For the past couple months I experience sharp, stinging (or maybe burning) pain in my calf, usually right leg but sometimes left too.
I've been walking long distances my whole life and never had cramps before. Been doing some reading and so far symptoms fits cramps.
I have lately been walking really long distances on occasion.
I have the pain happening at night. I wake up with badly aching leg (calf muscle) and need some time time for it to lessen, sometimes I fall asleep seconds later and when I wake up the muscle is stiff and painful. It's also bit painful/sensitive at touch on other days too.
Bowel Disorders :: Lower Left Abdominal Pain, Nausea, Loose Stool, Pain After Food
My husband has been suffering from lower left pain and tenderness in his abdominal area. He also has loose stool and a lot of the time feels like he needs to go, but can't. Cramping included. He randomly feels nauseous. His pain is also cause with eating, so he avoids eating big portions. He does eat yogurt, one cup a night. It sometimes helps. He has had a colonoscopy done and it was clean. Heartburn is also included, he takes rolaids every night. I just wish I could help him. I hate seeing him in pain! What is wrong with him?

I was wondering if anybody suffers with abdominal pain and nausea from eating fruit. I decided i would try to eat some fruit today as everything else i have tried to eat has caused a flare up. I ate half a banana and a tangerine early afternoon and since then it has left me feeling really uncomfortable my stomach is hurting and getting pain all under my ribs and right side as well as feeling nausea. Just seems like everything i try to eat doesn't agree with me i am seriously now thinking of not eating food altogether and just drink plenty of fluids because it's just not worth eating to feel like this everyday when i do it

I'm 9 weeks post TRHR and although I'm back driving, doing most regular activities I'm getting wiped out in the evenings.
It's not just fatigue. It's like I'm going to pass out and I feel very nauseous.
I was just wondering if this was normal or if maybe I am anaemic. I was anaemic after surgery but I was in a supplement and I had recovered.
Basically I'm wondering if it's due to me overdoing things prof maybe I should get my bloods checked.

STD :: Nausea, Leg Pain, Chest Pain, Abdominal Pain?
I am a 21 year old female. I had sex for the first time a month and a half ago. (protected) Soon afterwards I got a yeast infection during my period that I treated with equate's miconazole. It went away in About a week. Had constipation took something so i eventually went to the bathroom. Then I began to experience abdominal pain (more unusual than painful ... But still painful). So about 2 days later I began to feel a cramp on my upper thigh so that same day I went to the hospital. They did a ct scan and an ultrasound they said I had a ruptured ovarian cyst. The doctor just told me to take medicine for it. The leg cramps got worse and were scaring me so I went back to the same Hospital 3 days later they said it may have to do with the ruptured cyst but when they checked my urine they said I may have an UTI coming on. So they gave me medicine for UTI. They sent me to the GYN who gave me birth control in order to stop ovulation which could irritate the rupture. Soon after that I began to feel nausea, dizziness and chest pains as well as brown vaginal discharge. So I woke up the next morning or so and I vomited. I went to another hospital where they treated me and they said they couldn't find anything wrong so the just replaced my UTI medicine with levaquin (250 mg 6 days in). They sent me back home that night and the next morning they told me to come back because the ct scan they did there found that I had a swollen/enlarged liver and a little fluid around my heart. I came back the doctor said he couldn't find the problem so he sent me home and told me to see my doctor. She told me to discontinue the birth control. My doctor couldn't come up with anything so shes running more tests. Right now I feel a burning chest pain below by right breast also on the left side of my chest and in my mid back on my left side, still dizziness, a bit of pressure behind my left eye, and nausea, still leg cramps/pain, upper back pain. This has been going on for over three weeks.
View 10 RepliesTrimethoprim :: Extreme Exhaustion, Nausea, Mouth Breathing And Panting
I really feel ill after almost three days taking Primethoprim.
Following a hip replacement in April, my pre-existing (1959!) lumbar spine problems came back worse than ever. I now have Lumbar canal stenosis.
To help the intolerable pain, I was given Baclofen, then Diazepam and nothing made any difference. I was admitted to hospital one day when I couldn't move at home and was given an injection of Ketorolac plus Tramadol and Paracetamol tablets and discharged back home where I live on my own.
Supplied with a prescription for Tramadol 50mg to a max of eight in 24 hours, the pain continued to lessen.
But then I began to have a slight pain when passing urine. After testing my urine, the GP said I have a bladder or urethral infection. She prescribed ten Trimethoprim 200mg, to run over five days, i.e. one morning and one evening.
Ever since taking the Trimethoprim 200mg I have had extreme exhaustion, nausea, mouth-breathing and panting and therefore very dry mouth, complete loss of appetite, etc, and general misery.
Undiagnosed Dizziness And Pressure Headaches
I am 21 year old female college student, I have been dealing with these health issues since November 2013. I used to lead a healthy lifestyle, doing great in school, had a job, and participated in school organizations. Also, I was able to exercise everyday and was in the best shape of my life and ate extremely healthy no bread, lots of veggies and grilled chicken. Happier as ever.
Then one day after exercising i began to feel this nauseated off feeling that made me feel as though im not stable. I have never fallen over or fainted (except once when i got my blood drawn to check for this problem). Then gradually over time dizziness is what i began feeling not the room spinning but i feel like i am moving when im not, i feel like i have to second guess where i walk and concentrating on the computer or driving long distances is a challenge. Then started these headaches since April 2014 where i feeling like my head is shaking and pulsing inside. This pulsing and pressure worsens when I am lying down and it takes a while for me to adjust from lying down to standing up i feel woozy when i do. Anyway I have had this constantly everyday. At first it got me really emotional but I have been practicing yoga/meditation everyday as well as acupuncture and massage therapy to help manage the stress and anxiety i was having about the dizziness/head pressure.
Heres the many doctors I have seen:
blood work - all normal according my GP; blood pressure, b12, thyroid is normal
eyes (i wear contacts) - optometrist, ophthalmologist, neuro-opthamologist - all normal; no elevated optic nerve pressure; prescription is the same
ears - saw two ENTS, had vestibular testing done - nothing wrong
finally got an MRI - it showed i have a cavum velum interpositum cyst (3x3.7 cm in sagittal views (side), 3.2x 4 cm axial view); i was most likely born with this - it is hard to say if has grown or always been this size and might be an incidental finding - hard for doctors to say which makes it super frustrating
**NO HYDROCEPHALUS, hemorrhage, midline shift, extra axial collection, or acute intracranial mass effect
i have seen about 3 neurosurgeons all with different opinions
- first was an adult surgeon at the cleveland clinic - said my cyst is very rare; suggest a shunt (but would not want this due to the risky foreign object nature of the device, i would rather an endoscopic procedure)
- second saw a pediatric neurosurgeon; put me on diamox 250 mg twice a day it has been making my head feel better so the doctor is inclined to think its the cyst
- third pediatric neurosurgeon at University of miami; was not convinced the cyst is causing my problems said it was probably incidental and wants me to wait 3-6 months to get another MRI
is anyone going through this.. i'm trying to stay as optimistic as possible. i just hope i do not have to feel like this forever i had to take the semester off of my senior year of college because i wanted to get to the bottom of these problems that have affected my whole life. just want to be normal again.
Undiagnosed :: Dizziness, Headaches And Vision Problems
For the past 8 months I have been suffering from dizziness, slow going at first and was manageable, but I am worried that it was a warning sign as things are getting worse.
When it first started I would get random dizzy attacks when moving my head (feel like the room around me was spinning or I was still moving when I wasn't) I went to the doctors and he explained it could be from my operation and my body getting over the anaesthetic, just a keyhole op to take appendix out. He recommended I wait and if it didn't improve within a month then to go back. I returned a month later as the symptoms hadn't improved and was put on some antibiotics to "relieve" the symptoms. When this didn't work I again returned only to be given a higher dose of them for a further month . I was then told to wait yet another month without them in the hope it would relieve the dizziness completely.
Then it started to get worse. My vision has changed and not become as clear almost a bit cloudy and I see flashing lights sometimes, I have had my eyes tested and even been to the hospital for a detailed eye examination -nothing. Then around 4 weeks ago I began getting migraines with aura and have had one a week since it started and the dizziness has become constant. I notice it really bad when I am still and concentrating and it feels as if everything around me is moving and also when I move then stand still a wave of dizziness comes over me and completely throws me off balance almost as if the ground is moving , I never fall but always feel like I am going to. I returned to the doctors last and have now been asked to get blood tests which are in 2 weeks ad have been referred to a neurologist which I have been told can take up to 8 weeks.
This week it has been extremely bad and has reduced me to tears a number of times as it really frightens me. I have had a constant headache sort of behind my eyes which feels dull and almost like there is pressure in my head, for the past 3 days and painkillers aren't helping. Every time I walk, move, or even am still the dizziness appears. It is affecting my work as I am unable to be at my computer a long time due to my vision. I was told to go back to the doctors should things get worse and plan to go tomorrow evening to out of hours. I really don't think that I can wait 8 weeks for a date to see the neurologist and feel it needs to be done sooner. I have been reading about my symptoms and have no clear steer on the possibility but I am really worried at the possibility of a brain tumor as a family member passed away of this last year.
I think it's important to note that I am 21, and generally eat well and exercise regularly (not as much as of late due to severe dizziness) At the end of last year I suffered from panic attacks, costochondritis and anxiety following the loss of a close family member. Once I went back to work January this year things improved hugely on that front. I understand that anxiety is often linked to dizziness but I am struggling to believe this has stemmed from that. I now only suffer anxiety of fear of these feelings returning.
