Lymph Nodes :: Swollen, Painful Occipital Glands
I have a few bumps on the base of my skull / top of my neck. One of them is large and the others are small. They are quite painful and swollen and have been there for a week or so. What could this be? Should I see a doctor about it?
View 1 RepliesHIV Exposure A Week Ago :: Tender Lymph Nodes, Fever And Sore Throat
Exactly one week and 1 day ago I received unprotected oral sex from a sex worker in South Africa (known for HIV). It lasted for about 30 minutes. I know I made a major mistake. Statistically she had HIV as 70% of sex workers are positive. She had false teeth in her mouth and removed it for the purposes of the ******* which means she definitely had blood in her mouth and there was deep throating involved. I am more than certain I got the virus and don't know how to deal with it. I know many people experience phantom pains but I definitely have tender lymph nodes in my face and neck, fever, sore throat, all the typical signs I contracted the virus. I took a test 2 days after and of course it was negative due to the window period and no prior sexual experience (NONE). I am considering taking my own life due to this issue. I come from a VERY conservative family and they would never be able to deal with this. What should I do?
View 25 RepliesGenital Herpes Simplex :: Sore Throat And Swollen Glands
I was diagnosed with genital HSV 1 in November. I've come to terms with it l, but I'm still learning amount it.
A few days ago, I had a sore throat and 1 swollen gland. The next day, I noticed a couple of white spots on the back of my throat. There has been no fever. I have not had any type of sex since early January.
Called my pcp and he called in regular antibiotic until I can get in to see him next week.
Could this be related to my HSV 1 condition or strep throat.
Swollen Lymph Nodes (all Over Body) For Years
I'm a 21 year old male. About three years ago I started having different lymph nodes in my body swell. Its at the point now where everywhere in my body there are swollen lymph nodes that have been swollen for years. It seems there is lymph nodes pus that has accumulated in areas as well. The places include my neck, back of head, private area, and more. I'm really scared and worried. None of the places really hurt, and its been like this for years. What does this mean. Will i just be able to take antibiotics or something to stop the spread of these lymph nodes from swelling. What is the problem that I have.

View 2 RepliesCancer :: Swollen Lymph Nodes And Liver Not Functioning
I have had swollen lymph nodes now for around 6 months in my neck head and behind my ears.
My Liver Function is 3 times higher than what it should be and is getting higher every blood test I have.
My spleen is swollen.
Im suffering night sweats and breathing difficulty.
I am suffering severe headaches and my head is swollen all over the shape of it changes weekly with one side swelling or the top swelling etc.
My vision has depleted considerably over the last six months.
I am suffering ear ache because the nodes behind and in front of my ear are pressing against it.
My Doctor sat on this for 5 months saying it must be an infection and it would go down. When two nodes popped up in the top of the back of my head 2 weeks ago he booked me in for a biopsy on the nodes in neck and for some blood test and a x-ray on my chest.
My bloods have just come back and for the first time in the last 6 months the test for glandular fever has come back positive. I am still having a biopsy and my doctor suspects it is not just glandular fever.
I have been reading up on lymphoma and personally think I have lymphoma of the brain. Could anyone give me a second opinion on this I would really really appreciate it. I am 20 year old fairly fit male.
HIV :: Swollen Lymph Glands Under Armpit
So I recently had this fling with a guy from my uni, we slept together but did not have anal sex. We just performed mutual masturbation, and he ejaculated on me (gross I know). Anyways, he is joining the army in a couple of months and obviously they make sure you need to be clean so I am not too worried.
Anyways, for the past week and a half I have had a swollen red bump under my armpit, I am pretty sure it's a swollen lymph thingo - I had one under my right armpit, now I have one on my left.
Tis very small and I have 0 other symptoms, but I am scared to death of the doctors for some weird reason and always get anxiety when I go. So I try to go as little as possible.
While I have no other symptoms, is there a chance it could be HIV? This was about 2-4 weeks ago.

View 3 RepliesShingles :: Recurrence With Swollen Lymph Nodes , Cheek Filled With Liquid?
I am 21 now, I had gotten shingles when I was 20. I only had it for a week luckily but, it was on my face...around my left eye and cheek area. While I had it, I had a lymph node swollen behind my ear that was pretty large also a couple lymph nodes on my head that were swollen as well. Both with piercing, constant pain. Then with the Shingles, the marks on my face and near my eye also hurt BAD. I got through all of that, no scarring.VERY lucky on that one. But now about 8 months later I have the same lymph node behind my ear swollen, my cheek actually filled up with fluid one day and when I opened my mouth something popped, all the fluid was released and the trash can became my best friend that night. NASTY. I thought it may have been a abscessed tooth causing the swelling and fluid build up, but after the fluid left my body my tooth stopped hurting. Now I'm just kinda lost and looking for some help on what may be going on.

Sinus Infections :: Drooping Eyebrow, Red Nostrils And Swollen Lymph Nodes
I have constant sinus issues since I was a kid. I am 24 now. I have allergies and asthma witch I take medicine for both. The past few years I have gotten 3-4 sinus infections per year. I have constant post nasal drip and is normal to me also breathing through my mouth is more normal to me. I get dry annoying irritating sinuses often. For a good while now I have noticed that all on the left side- my left nostril is always more red and swollen, my left neck Lymph node is ALWAYS swollen or at least 3 times the size of the right one. My doctor has felt and since I have sinus issues a lot she said its normal. Last and most visible my left eyebrow is lower than the right and slightly my left eyelid is lower. So sort of "drooping" compared to the right side. I can pull the skin taught above my left eye brow and make it look even, when I do this my face feels better but I didn't even realize it feels less better when it's sitting how it is. If that makes any sense, idk. Any ideas what's going on?
View 1 RepliesSore Throat :: Swollen Tonsils, Lump In Throat, Clear Mucus, Sore, Headache
My tonsils have been swollen for over a month, until last week they were painless, but now I have flu symptoms. Its quite scary, it affects my swallowing and I have a very very dry mouth, even when I drink loads of water all day. Hasn't affected my breathing as of yet, but feels like a lump in my throat is blocking it off.
This has been going for three days now.
Doctor said I need a blood test for glandular fever, which is next week.
I mentioned that I think I can feel my epiglottis swollen, and she laughed and said that is all the way down by my adam's apple and would have a job feeling that... even though i've seen many cases online where it's visible above the tongue and often can be felt.
Glands :: Possible Swollen Lymph Node In Pubic Area?
I am a 30 year old female with a healthy lifestyle. For about 6 months I have had a lymph node (I think) in the top left side corner of my pubic area that is swollen for most of the day. It goes down at night and after being awake for a couple hours, it swells up again. Sometimes its more swollen than others and becomes painful to touch. It only happens on the left side.
I recently went to my primary doctor (general internist) for her to check it out but it wasn't swollen at the time (early AM) so she couldn't feel it. She ran a blood test and everything came back normal. She said that they are usually nothing to worry about if I don't have any other unusual symptoms.
I advised her of a condition in my left leg called Fibrous Dysplasia, in which I was born with and have had 4 surgeries for (last one was 5 years ago). She told me that since I don't have regular cuts on my legs, or anywhere else, and that I have no other odd symptoms that it could be caused by the associated inflammation of the problem in my leg.
I dont seem to think that its being caused by the inflammation in my leg because I was born with this condition and have had many many flare ups of inflammation and the swollen node started only 6 months ago.
I do have fairly bad environmental allergies so I am contributing it to that, but again, I've had allergies all my life too.
Also, I developed a problem about 4 years ago with a rash. It only appears on my legs (both) most of the time (about 90%) and sometimes on my arms. The rash shows up as small and large (largest size of a silver dollar) hard, red, and painful lumps. I've gotten a biopsy to confirm that it is a rash from my dermatologist. I also did an elimination diet on my own to try and figure out if they were occurring due to a food intolerance but didn't have any successful results.
With all of this information, would anyone be able to provide me with advice or a next step? Is there some other test that should be run? Could this be something other than a lymph node?
Allergies :: Swollen Lymph Node Under Jaw Line In Throat?
Has anyone ever had a swollen lymph node under jaw line in throat because of allergies? I changed shifts at work and went to days about 3 months ago. Ever since the allergies have been brutal but I deal with it. I take occasional allergy meds. About the time I noticed a swollen lymph node on the left side of my throat . I also have occasional deep ear pain on same side. I went to my family doc and he didn't seemed worried. He gave me 500mg of amoxicillin and I took x3 a day. Well I took all the 30 pill dose and it's still swollen. It's sometimes sore but only when I mess with it. I'm 38 years old, healthy and do not feel sick. Should I worry about something major? Oh, I go to ENT in about a month to get a second opinion.
View 3 RepliesOpiate (percocet) Withdrawal :: Sore Throat, Runny Nose, Shaky Hands
I have been taking painkillers for about 4 years now off and on every other week. Buying 4-10 lortab at a time then taking them within about two to three days. I love Codeine I'm not gonna lie, you talk better, you argue better, you can have amazing sex on it, it calms you down and it can wake you up. I don't want to quit.
Two weeks ago I bought a full bottle of Percocet from this guy and have taken about 5 every single day. I know to some of you that doesn't seem like much but I do my best to manage my addiction in a responsible way. I just got married last week. I love my wife we have been together for a long time and she's never even suspected that I take opiates. I can hide things pretty well.
I want to stop because I know I'm better than this. I want freedom I don't want to feel like opiates have my leg in their trap. I'm going through my first withdrawal. It sucks sore throat, runny nose, shaky hands and legs, insomnia, all I can think about is hydrocodone syrup or just tablets.
Today is day 3 of my withdrawal never felt anything like this. My throat is so sore I went to the doctor to see if I could get a steroid shot or something to boost my immune system. I got there and told him how I'm feeling and he gave me an antibiotic and hydrocodone syrup...I know right. I didn't tell him about my addiction or withdrawals. I guess I want to be the only one to know about it with the exception of the people on this site. Rock meet bottom.
I've taken an ounce of the syrup already and I feel great. I know I'll run out soon because I only had a four ounce fill. I need someone who understands this feeling. I'm better than this I just want to get past this point and try to forget about this part of my life. Please respond I need support at this point and don't have time for NA meetings. Thanks guys

Fullness In My Ear With Prominent Lymph Nodes
For the past few weeks I've had what I'd describe as a fullness in my ears, more so my right than my left, slight ringing In my ears, dizzy and the lymph node just under my right ear is slightly more prominent when I touch it than the left. I just wondered if anyone else has had similar?
View 1 RepliesLymph Nodes :: Enlarged Under Right Jaw - Molar Infection?
I have had an enlarged lymph node under my right jaw for over a year now, i have had biopsies, blood work, ct scan, x-rays, pet scan, took antibiotics, and the doctors still don't know what it is, it does not hurt, but i can feel it every once in awhile when i swallow, and i seem to have a lot of throat problems whenever i get sick, i'm a healthy 26 year old male and workout 4 days a week, but the one thing that i think, may be an issue is that i have had a bad molar tooth right above where the node is. i'm not 100% sure my tooth has been bad the whole time i've had the swollen node, but i am starting to think this can be the problem, the doctor told me that its a possibility it could be the problem, but i'm tired of being ran around by these doctors, i went to the dentist and he told me there was a slight possibility that the tooth is causing this, but i'm afraid the dentist will tell me anything to spend 3000 on a root canal, i do not want to get it removed with surgery unless it absolutely necessary ...
View 1 RepliesLymph Nodes :: Jaw / Collarbone Slowly Getting Bigger
I have recently found two swollen lymph nodes, one above my collarbone and one at the top of my jaw under the ear (not sure what this one is called?) both on the right. I have had night sweats for about 18 months, very run down and tired, and itchy armpits of all things. My doctor is thinking lymphoma so done blood tests and chest xray which came back fine. I am being sent to see a hematologist so just waiting for the appointment. Im guessing a biopsy is going to be the only answer to if it is or isn't lymphoma, i'm trying not to worry, hopefully it will all be fine.
My question is, the lymph nodes are slowly getting bigger every day, not by much but they seem to be growing. Is this somewhat normal? Or could this be a sign that it is somehow getting worse?
