Sertraline :: Dizzy Every 2 Hours On Increasing Dose
I was on Zoloft 25 mg for 2 years. My doctor decided to wean me off. I went into withdrawal. Within a week of being off of it I went back on 12.5 only for a week. Then I went up to 25 again. Been on 25 for 4 weeks now. All the side effects of the start up have gone.
I find myself getting very dizzy every 2 hours. I was told low sugar is a side effect of Zoloft and that I should graze. Eat 3 meals with snacks in between. I'm eating and I'm not hungry which is so annoying.
I just left the doctor. She has no idea what could be causing this. She wants to increase my dose from 25 to 37.5 (25 mg with a half of a 25mg).
I wanted to hear from others whom may have experienced this before going back up. Increasing doses scare me.

I'm about to increase my sertraline dosage. The side effects in the first few weeks when I started were pretty bad and I felt really rough at times, mainly with nausea, dizziness etc. I was wondering: will this happen again on increasing the dosage? Or should it be OK now my body is used to the drug? If it's likely I'll get some side effects, how long are they likely to last and how bad might they be?
View 18 RepliesSertraline :: Increased Depression On Anxiety - Increasing Dose
I have suffered from depression and anxiety for years (about 8 in total since my early 20's) but only recently sought help from my GP when I started having 2 or 3 panic attacks a day.
I was prescribed Sertraline 25 mg daily and Propranolol 80 mg daily (40 mg in the morning and 40 mg in the evening). After one week the Sertraline was increased to 50 mg daily. 3 weeks on and today I have been upped to 100mg daily.
I had bad side effects when starting on the 25 mg (increased depression, increased anxiety, headaches, nausea and diarrhea) but these past after the first 4 or 5 days. When I was increased to 50 mg they came back, albeit more mildly and past after the 3rd or 4th day.
I am apprehensive about increasing the dosage again now as I have to travel a lot this weekend for a large family engagement. I am worried that I may start having panic attacks again as I settle into the higher dose and I am wondering whether to stay on 50 mg with the Propranolol over the weekend and up the dosage on Monday when I am home and have a few days to relax and can ride out any side effects.

View 4 RepliesSertraline :: Advice On Stopping Sertraline
I had some terrible problems last november stopping venlafaxine to start sertraline. I realised I have tried over 6 different meds and have decided to get back to the start and take none. I have been to a doctor today who was not very helpful and as I have never been given the right advice about cross tapering I am not confident about stopping. I started with 50mg, 1 december 2014, in mid January increased to 100mg and to be honest things are worse in the way I feel. No libido (I am a happily married 46 year old woman who used to enjoy my husbands attention), No motivation, No sense of enjoyment in anything, overeating, overspending and little or no self worth. I have been told stop 100mg and take 50mg for 4 weeks and then review. I am thinking maybe 75mg for a week, then 50mg for a week, then 25mg for a week then nothing.... Any ideas? I have been on one antidepressant or another since 2009.

View 2 RepliesMigraines - Increasing In Frequency And Intensity
Any advice welcome. I gave a 12 yr old son who has suffered from occasional migraines for a couple of years. They are now increasing in frequency and intensity. GP has prescribed tablets to reduce symptoms and referred us to the hospital for further investigation. At the moment have no idea of cause/triggers but seem to occur in afternoons/evening. He just wants to go to a dark room and sleep mainly to avoid nausea. Would like to hear from other parents who have children in similar situation. Foods/stimulants to avoid?. Treatment that has worked? Possible questions to ask Consultant when we do eventually receive an appointment. No family history of migraines.
View 4 RepliesCitalopram :: Anxiety Is Back On Increasing The Dose
I have been on cit for 4 weeks. My doctor decided this morning that she should increase my dose from 20mg to 30mg. I'm not sure why she decided to do this because I've actually been feeling close to myself for the last 2 days and I informed her of that. Since I've been home from the appointment my anxiety is creeping back in. I think it may be due to worry of increasing the dose. Should I expect to have increased side effects and/or anxiety after taking the new dose?

I am feeling better than I was my intrusive thoughts are less intense and haven't been getting panic attacks but I feel my mood improved and then has dipped again, I am also still having suicidal thoughts. I am scared of the side effects being as bad as at the beginning or worse, can anyone give me some reassurance ?

View 13 RepliesSupraventricular Tachycardia :: Increasing Frequency Of The Attacks
I am 24 years old now and have had SVT since I was 7. Normally my attacks are very infrequent and I can go months without an attack. Each attack only lass around 5 - 20 mins. However today alone I have now had 3 attacks. Two of them being at work. I have been to the GP in the past 12 months who referred me back to the hospital however because I wasn't having an attack at the time, the ECG came back fine and I feel as though I waste their time, however the pain and the increasing frequency of the attacks are now worrying me. I have stopped drinking energy drinks and high caffeinated drinks such as coffee, and have stopped smoking as these were thought to be potential triggers. As you all know, SVT can strike at any time. Do you all get attacks when asleep too? Its horrible. I feel so drained now. Sorry for complaining, I do feel bad on all you who are severe suffers and I am whining about a few attacks a day.

I’ve been a type 2 diabetic now for about two years and over the past few months my blood sugar levels have been steadily creeping up. I haven’t changed anything and what I eat stays the same, but for some reason it’s getting higher. Anyway, my docs decided that he wants to increase the amount of metformin that I take and I’m worried that I’ll get side effects, not feel great, and that it won’t make a difference.
