View 11 RepliesBirth Control :: Nexplanon - Intense Lower Abdominal Pain
I am currently on nexplanon. I got it put in on June 2014. Ever since December 2014 I have been having intense lower abdominal pain. It hurts if I try to walk or sit up. It hurts to pee. It feels like a lot of pressure where my female organs are. It's more painful at night and when I'm suppose to have my period. I haven't had a period since September 2014. I spot dark brown/black stuff. I am always dizzy and have headaches I don't know what's wrong. I'm hoping my doctor will let me get an ultrasound.
View 1 RepliesYeast Infection Complications
I'm a 27 year old female with absolutely no past sexual health issues. I had sex a few times with a new partner in June within a week long period. July 1 I decided to get STD tested to be safe (I usually get tested once a year). A week later the clinic called and said I had chlamydia. I was showing symptoms as well: some random itching that went very quickly and burning after sex at my g spot area. I took the antibiotics they gave me and got a yeast infection from them. I went to the gyno and she verified and prescribed me diflucan. She also said my PAP was normal (from July 1), but had some yeast present. Everything seemed normal after that other than I got a skin rash (like pimples) from the diflucan on my back, chest, and up my neck. That was verified by the gyno.
A week later I had sex again, but this time it was burning a lot at the g spot after sex and I was spotting. This was enough to freak me out and I went back to the gyno the next morning. She said that everything looked good but the chlamydia may be sticking around. She prescribed me another round of antibiotics. Once again I got a yeast infection. This time I took Monistat and it took longer to heal. I had some small cuts on my labia from the irritation that healed quickly afterwards.
In the meantime July 17 I had my yearly physical and blood work done at my physician. All my tests came back normal (including hep, herpes, and syphilis) except for a minor UTI in my urine. He prescribed me a full week of antibiotics. I waited two weeks to take them due to the yeast infection.
I had sex again 2 weeks after the 2nd dose of antibiotics for the chlamydia. I had a lot of burning afterwards--in my urethra, in my vagina? I couldn't figure it out. Mostly on my g spot again I would say. So I started the antibiotics for the UTI the doctor gave me (this week). By Wed I had a full blown yeast infection again. I used Monistat again and the yeast discharge cleared. Now I have a number of sores inside my labia minor that look like canker sores (red rimmed), as well as red irritation throughout the inside of my labia. They are very painful and it hurts to walk. My lymph nodes to the right groin are also slightly swollen and hurt to touch.
Obviously I'm freaking out because I can't go to the gyno on the weekend. Sorry that was so long, but I'm at my wits end and any advice or tips to ease the pain or ease my mind would be greatly appreciated. I know it's a chance that it could be herpes, but could be caused by the yeast infections or chlamydia.. Among other things. Any ideas?

View 1 RepliesWomen's Health :: Retroverted Uterus - Symptoms/complications?
Recently had an ultrasound for unusual pelvic pain. I learned from the doctor I have a retroverted (backward, as they stated) uterus. I've tried to research this online but there's just so many different opinions on this topic. I know it only occurs in 20% of women. I've heard it can affect getting pregnant and labor complications. And, from experience, I know it's painful. Anyone out there been diagnosed with this?
If so, what symptoms/complications do you have associated with it? Are there things I can do to relieve the pain myself caused by it without pain medications?
Male Impotence :: Penile Neuropathy Due To Complications Of Diabetes
I've been with my boyfriend for almost a year now and we've just started getting sexually active. He has confided in me that he has penile neuropathy due to complications of diabetes.
He's been to doctors and had tests done. The result is there is no problem with blood flow, it's nerve damage, the nerves don't transmit the signal to the penis to become fully erect. I've noticed the base does become semi erect but that's about it. Just curious if anyone has any experience with this and is there anything that will help such as over the counter medications like Cialis?

View 59 RepliesBroken Tibia/Fibula, No Surgery, Blood Clot Complications
On 2/1/14, I broke my tibia (spiral, slightly displaced) and fibula falling off a motorcycle (not at high speed). OS said I didn't need surgery and on 2/3/14 I had a long-leg cast put on. I developed blood clots from the leg which shot to my lungs and OS removed cast early on 3/5. I am now in a walking boot, although I cannot bear weight just yet.
I'm worried about the bone not healing or fusing properly since I am no longer in a cast. Will there be longer healing times since I am no longer in a cast?
X-rays were taking on 3/3 and OS says the bones are back in place nicely but no fusion.
Arm/Wrist/hand :: Tfcc Tear/shortening Complications? Recovery?
So I have been to a few different dr over the last two years. Been in full arm and short arm casts, got shots, mri/x rays.....and so on.....I got three opinions...one dr wants to fix the tfcc tear, possible shorten the ulna....one dr wants to fix the tear and shorten the radius....last dr just wants to fix the tear....goood night! I'm confused, sick of casting, and this issue needs to be fixed so i can get thru a day of work with no pain....now when I was 6 yrs old I fell outta a tree about 25 ft and broke both ulna/radius, so they think thats the issue with shortening it healed wrong.....
How long is the recovery? how long am i outta work? one dr said i cant drive for three weeks....one said ill be casted again for 6-8 weeks.
Gabapentin :: For Trigeminal Neuropathic Pain - My Experience
I have been on gabapentin for about 5 years. I have suffered from trigeminal neuropathic pain since a botched dental operation in 2003 and have tried a range of different medication that made me feel either spaced out, dizzy and sick or made no difference what so ever. Finally the pain clinic at Pontefract Hospital prescribed a combination of Gabapentin, citalopram and pain relief, zomorph. I can honestly say that it has saved my life. The pain had been so unbearable that I just couldn't see an end to it.
I take from 600g up to 2400g per day when the pain is at its worst. My memory has been affected but is nowhere near as bad as when on other similar medication. I do think it's like anything else in that people react to it in different ways and if it doesn't suit change it. During the summer, the pain recedes and I have gone on for days without any gabapentin and have suffered no withdrawal effects at all. Although I am not pain free, and I know that is never going to happen, the gabapentin makes it bearable.
Epstein Barr Virus :: Experience A Pain In The Spleen?
I have been diagnosed 3 or 4 days ago with epstein barr virus. I have a question, does any of you have experience a pain in the spleen? Did you get any medication for it or just let it be? I didn't go to the doctor as it doesn't hurt as bad but let's just say I can feel pain during the day. I am planning to see a doctor next week if it doesn't stop hurting.
View 2 RepliesAnkylosing Spondylitis :: Anti-TNF - Does It Stop Pain? Experience?
After a two year battle with every drug going and being so terribly ill with AS my consultant has decided we need to move onto anti TNF after trying everything else with very little or no success.
Can you please tell me everything you know about anti-tnf. Was it is successful? Did it give you a life back? Does it stop the pain? Does it help with the fatigue? I am so worried about trying it, but need to urgently do something, as quality of life is very low and nothing else seems to work.
I need both my hips replaced, does anyone know if it helps with hip pain?
How Many Of You Have Nexplanon?
How many of you have nexplanon? Could you get pregnant of it?
View 3 RepliesHow Soon Can I Get Nexplanon Removed? Not Right For Me
So, November 21st 2014, I got the nexplanon implant birth control so that I would be able to be with my partner without any worry of children. It seemed like the perfect decision at the time. Three years from now I will still not be ready most likely and I don't have to remember to take a pill every day or anything. What a dream, right! No. I was very wrong. The nexplanon may work for some people but for me, so far, it has been terrible. I know that it's new chemicals in my body but I've been vomiting non stop. I can't get out of bed anymore and I'm sleep deprived due to mind numbing headaches. I've also been bleeding everyday but that's not really what worries me the most. I can deal with the bleeding but with the vomiting and headaches? No! That's not what I signed up for. So my question is how soon can I get this removed? I have an appointment for a check up on December 4th but will I have to wait for my arm to heal up before they can numb it again and take it out?
View 6 RepliesContraception :: Injection To Nexplanon
I went onto the injection in 2005 and was on that for 9 years due to migraines etc the doctor advised me to have the nexplanon inserted and i've now been on this a year. Tbh i think i'm lucky i've only ever had one period and that was just after my injection started in 2005 so nothing for 10 years. Before the injection my periods were clockwork every 28 days for 5 days at a time. Just wondered now i'm on the nexplanon how long would it take for everything to come back to normal after i've had it removed. I'm thinking of having it removed late 2016 to try and start my own family.
View 2 RepliesMenstruation :: Had Nexplanon For A While Now, Had Bleeding For A Day
I have had nexplanon for a while now and have had periods, but just a few days ago for a few seconds I had bled, it was like a normal period blood, red heavy normal, like all my periods start, but it only lasted for a day or so... I looked it up and saw all this stuff about implantation and I don't think I'm pregnant or anything I just would like to know if this is normal.
View 2 RepliesBirth Control (Nexplanon) Spotting
I had my birth control (Nexplanon) inserted at the beginning of March, and had somewhat normal periods, coming once a month. I did just have a regular period about 3 weeks ago, and then last week I had two days of spotting, and that was it, and then the spotting came back yesterday and is gone now. Sometimes they are accompanied by mild cramps, nothing too bad though. I've also gained 4lbs in the past week, and I've been the same weight for about 5 years now. I have been having unprotected sex since I've had it in, and I'm not quite sure why my symptoms are the way they are!
View 1 RepliesContraception :: Nexplanon 3 Years Passed
I had the Implanon for 3 years and had it replaced for the Nexplanon around 2.5 years ago. I haven't had periods since having these implants except for a bit of spotting during the change over. Yesterday however I have started having a period. Not as heavy as I used to have them when not on any contraception but much more than just spotting. I am concerned that it has stopped working as I am a few months off having it changed. I have gained a lot of weight this year from stress and I have read that having an increased weight can cause it to stop working early. Could this be the case? And should I arrange to go to the clinic to have it changed?
View 2 RepliesTrying To Conceive After Nexplanon Removed (4 Months)
I had my Nexplanon taken out about 4 months ago and I had a period about 2 months later . It was a normal period for me. Lasted about 5 days and wasn't too heavy and wasn't too light and not a whole lot of cramping which is typical for me as well. I have been trying to conceive so I have been having unprotected sex hoping for some pregnancy symptoms . I figured it would take a while for my body to get back into the swing of things so after I had my first period since Nexplanon I started tracking everything such as ovulation and my fertile days. I am 13 days late and have taken many pregnancy tests and they are all negative. I do not have pregnancy symptoms except the fact my period is late. No nausea or sensitive breasts. But why is my period so late ? I have a little bit of cramping that started on the 12th day my period was late. Could there be a bigger issue or is this normal ?
