Hemorrhoids :: Had THD Procedure 9 Days Ago

I had THD (sometimes known as HALO) procedure 9 days ago, the last couple of days it feels like i have external haemorrhoids back, my husband says they look like them, large and inflamed!... I'm so upset and frustrated, had been feeling ok as was recovering quite well. Very uncomfortable and painful after bms but i was expecting this and had prepared for it mentally and physically. I've not had to strain when going to toilet, in fact going regularly since 2nd day, so no constipation. I've also had a stitch come out today after bm (surgeon said all my stitches were internally) Has anyone else had any similar experiences??...

Pain After 6 Months Under My Big Toe Lapidus Bunionectomy

I am 6 month out from lapidus bunionectomy along with several other procedures. I have been having alot of pain under my big toe. It feels too low and I have expressed my concern to my surgeon and he said what I am feeling is normal. Last night I read the results from my last xray and it states I have a very low first metatarsal. 4 degrees too low. Has anyone ever experienced this? Is this normal? Is there anything that can be done? Why wouldn't he just tell me. I just want this fixed. I am calling another doctor to morrow to get their opinion. Will my foot ever be normal again.

Tarsal Tunnel Release Surgery (5 Days) - Still In Pain

I just had tarsal tunnel surgery and it's been about 5 days. I was wondering whether anyone has had this surgery done and how long does it take before you start feeling better? I have about just the same amount of pain now after surgery. I'm beginning to wonder if it didn't work at all?

I know this procedure is rare so, please, if you had it, can you tell me your experience?

Catract Surgery :: Corneal Abrasion Over My Pupil During Procedure

I was given an unexpected gift in my ophthalmologist's office - a long scratch on my cornea during the process of my doc's assistant trying contact lens on me.  Since I had local anesthesia I did not realize this happened till I felt some discomfort and my doc came in, looked and saw the scratch (corneal abrasion) over my pupil. He said I would be hurting quite a bit when the eye drops wore off and gave me a clear bandaid on the cornea for 2 days to help it heal. 3 days out it's better but still scratchy, the "bandage" was taken off yesterday but my vision is still blurry. This is on the same eye where I had cataract surgery 7 weeks earlier and I have been in the process of getting 2nd opinions since I got stuck with the wrong IOL lens. (I also posted in the cataract forum last month) My question is, is there a general time frame wherein the blurriness goes away? How to prevent what I read about re repeat occurrences? Do I need to delay getting my 2nd opinions on cataract re-surgery till this is back to normal? (hoping it WILL be back to normal of course!)

Hallux Rigidus Surgery - Hemicap (implant) Resurfacing Procedure?

Has anyone ever had toe surgery for hallux rigidus using a Hemicap resurfacing procedure? I've been online researching & it seems that this is an implant, but recovery is much faster with this type & from what I can gather, it's an improvement over other methods. Patient testimonials show really fast recoveries, people walking the day after surgery without a surgical shoe & return to work much faster. On my previous post, I noted that I had surgery last week with an implant. The podiatrist said it was a Hemi implant, but I don't think it's the same as this Hemicap. I'm interested in the Hemicap resurfacing because I'm developing pain in the toe on the other foot & plan to get more than one opinion this time.

Colonoscopy :: Unbearable Pain During Procedure

I had a colonoscopy 3 days ago as I have Crohns and was awake for the whole thing. I told two nurses beforehand I didn't want to be awake for the procedure. Although I was given pethidine for pain relief there was still a lot of unbearable pain and I was shouting and crying but they just carried on. Afterwards they wanted the bed so I was given a cup of cold water and told to get dressed after about half an hour. As he was passing, the doctor told me he had taken several biopsies and the Crohn's didn't look too bad - then he walked off. I am now having nightmares and palpitations. I went to work yesterday but was sent home after a couple of hours as I couldn't stop shaking. I suffered sexual abuse as a child and this has triggered flashbacks. I can't stop crying. I will never have this test again as I would rather die.

Pain After Blasted Kidney Stones Procedure

I'm 22 and got my kidney stone blasted two days ago (10-2-13) and I was wondering if anyone else has had this procedure? I am in a world of pain. and I was just curious how long I can expect this pain to last. My urologist said the stone was at the opening of my kidney and it was about 6mm. They blasted it and put in a stent. I feel like I have been beaten with a baseball bat. I was just curious if anyone else has felt this pain and how long I should be expecting this to last.

Hemorrhoids :: 2 Days - Post THD Surgery Experience

I have just had 3 hemorrhoids worked on by THD surgery. This was done Thursday (and Saturday). I am on 2 sachets a day of movicol to soften stools but have not passed anything yet. I am eating fruit and little bit of other stuff such as digestive biscuits a little bit of bread etc. is there anything else I can do to help? When is pushing straining? I tried to go earlier and worryingly passed a jelly like lump of something?

The pain is manageable with occasional paracetamol or ibuprofen.

They are going to do a CT SCAN with dye tomorrow. Will continue story but right now has anyone had this problem?

Hallux Valgus (Bunions) :: Follow Up - 10 Weeks Post-op Right Foot Lapidus

I am 10 weeks post-op right foot Lapidus, and 3 days post-op left foot Lapidus. My healing and return to normalcy went fantastic with my right foot. I'm hoping for the same with my left foot.

My nerve block just wore off but there's still minimal pain with consistent use of my pain medication. Mostly just throbbing from the swelling. How's everyone else doing today?

Periods Heavy For 2 Days, Medium For 2 Days, Then Light For 1-2 Days

Please tell me is my period flow normal. I used to get 5-6 day periods, heavy for 2 days, medium for 2 days, then light for 1-2 days until it tapered off and ended. It was this way even when I was on birth control.

For the past few months now, I have been getting 3-4 day periods, where the first day is really just some spotting indicating my period is going to be starting. The second day is my heavy day. The third day is medium light. The 4th day is light. I'm still on birth control. I am 30 years old now.

Also last month, my period color was dark brown and I also had some black colored clotting during my heavy day. I know some blood clots are normal during menstruation, I had them all my life. But this blood clot was black. Again this month on my heavy day, I had black colored clot. It was a dime size clot. Size was not large. Is black color clotting anything to worry about? I do not see red blood these past two periods like I am used to seeing. I am seeing mostly brown and/or black.

And how can I increase my menstrual flow. I am worried that my endometrium lining is thinning and can cause a problem when I do try for children.

Bad Foot Pain After DeNovo Surgery - Nerve Pain?

I had DeNovo surgery on my ankle 4 months ago - lesion was 11 x 13. Surgery went well. I was NWB for 6 weeks, then in boot for 4-6 more weeks with PWB. Started PT at 10 weeks and was out of boot at 12 weeks. No problem with recovery or PT until that point. After I was fully weight bearing I had much more pain. On sides and bottom of foot as well as at surgery site. Still have lots of pain and sensitivity if I walk barefoot. PT was successful as far as ROM and strengthening but he doesn't want to push me any further because of pain.

OS says too early to say it did or didn't work, but I think it didn't and he won't do MRI until 6 months. He'll give me pain meds, but I don't like them and don't react well to them. The foot pain is bad! Could it be nerve pain?

I knew this was a long recovery, but I wasn't prepared for this! I ran for 30 years, which could have contributed to this problem, but now I'm wondering if I will ever walk pain-free again?!

Men Issues :: Pain After A Few Days Without Ejaculation

If I go more than a few days without ejaculating (either from masturbation or sex), I will begin to spontaneously experience rather severe groin pain. Initially it feels like a normal urge to urinate, so I will go to the bathroom and void. However immediately upon finishing and zipping up, it will feel like I have a very urgent need to urinate much worse than before. Trying to suppress the urge is extremely difficult and painful. Of course nothing will come out if I try again, but all discomfort will cease as long as I am relaxing the muscles as if I was trying to urinate. This pain will usually subside on its own within 30-60 minutes, but it is quite uncomfortable to the point that I have trouble concentrating or talking with people while it is occurring. If it happens at night I will not be able to sleep.

Since it's been happening with such frequency lately, I've begun to notice even the faintest hint of it creeping up (a slight pressure in my testicles/prostate area). If I masturbate right away it will generally resolve without any problem. If I wait for it to flare up to the point that it feels like I desperately need to urinate as described above it will still be extremely uncomfortable and painful but will generally resolve sooner than if I didn't masturbate.

I seem to remember this happening every once in a while when I was younger. However I do also recall being able to go weeks without masturbating. Now, however, it is guaranteed to happen if I don't ejaculate every few days (I am 34).

Has anyone else experienced this? Is this worthy of a trip to the urologist? I remember asking my general physician about it years ago but he dismissed it as related to dehydration, which I am certain is not an issue for me these days.

Lansoprazole :: Chest Pain After Stopping - Only Took It For 3 Days

I was put on 15mg of Lansoprazole by my GP as I've been getting interjestion and heartburn from my heart medication. Had a heart attack in August. After taking it for a few days it was making things worse not better so decided to stop taking it. First day ( yesterday ) I felt 'rough' in the afternoon and had to go to bed early. I have felt even worse today and have been having chest pains off and on all day. I have now had chest pain for about an hour and half. It is not the unbearable kind of pain I had when I had my heart attack and I have no pain else where but I have come close to using my GTN spray . I am also constipated and have wind.

Abdominal Pain :: Spasm In My Stomach For Nine Days

I have had a "spasm" in my stomach for nine days. It it located about an inch to the left of my belly button and up a little higher. It feels like a mild labor contraction, though I'm a 48 year old female and not pregnant. It can also be described as a strong "butterfly" feeling. I have tried an anti-spasmodic medication, a muscle relaxer, and anti-inflammatories, though NOTHING relieves it. It spasms about every 10 seconds and lasts for about 1-2 seconds. My doctor couldn't feel a spasm. I've tried massage, heat, castor oil---nothing is helping. Any suggestions as to what it could be or how I can stop it from spasming?

Pain After Days Of Wisdom Tooth Extraction

I had 4 Wisdom teeth extracted on 12/3/2012. I initially went to get one tooth extracted due to the impacted tooth causing pain. The oral surgeon talked me into getting 4 extracted (I wasn't even aware that  I had them as they caused no issues)

I am on day 11 currently and I am in SO. MUCH. PAIN. I have been experiencing pain since about day 5. I had a follow up on 12/10/2012. The oral surgeon looked in my mouth for all of 2 minutes, told me that everything looked fine, and that basically showed me the door. I asked him questions about all of the pain  was having and he advised me that I probably clench my teeth when I sleep. I told him I don't really sleep because of the pain, and he didn't really say anything...The only extraction site that hurts is the one that the problem tooth was extracted from. The pain actually resembles the same pain I experienced before getting the tooth extracted.I have a very high pain threshold, but I can't knock this. I take two ibuprofen every 8 hours and It still leaves me basically paralyzed to the point I want to lay in my bed in Fetal Position. Could it be possible that surgeon slacked off on the check up and missed something? Warm water rinses leave me in discomfort. Using the syringe is critical, as food gets stuck in my sockets. When I use it, there is nothing that can stop the intense radiating pain that I feel for the next 30 minutes of my life. I have even tried not using so much pressure while irrigating with the syringe. What should I do?
