Carbimazole :: Stopping Carbimazole - Started To Gain Weight

I have been on Carbimazole for only about a month and have started to gain weight. I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism at Easter and am seeing the endocrinologist tomorrow. I am coming off the stuff as I'd rather be dead than fat and will tell him that. I'm 51 and work in the media. Weight gain could cause me to lose my job and it's just out of the question to be overweight. People in my industry are being made redundant everyday and my job is really at risk.

Hyperthyroidism :: Taking Carbimazole And Citalopram Together

I've just started taking carbimazole and Citalopram and wondered if there is anyone else taking these meds together please?  The Citalopram is for anxiety caused by the hyperthyroidism. Has anyone else been in the same position and have you found they've helped or have you had any side effects?

I take my meds at night before I go to bed.  So far, I've had a terrible headache and when I get up in the morning I feel almost 'spaced' out and really groggy but nothing major and I'm hoping these will pass once my body gets used to it?

Thyroid Is Underactive Due To Lithium

I have complex PTSD and Bipolar Disorder 1.  I was diagnosed in September 2013 during a manic attack and started medication regime:  Lithium (225+450) and 300 mg Seroquel.  Now, 2 years + later, my Thyroid is underactive due to Lithium and my Psychiatrist wants to change Lithium to something else.

My challenge:  I start a new job next week (after being unemployed for 7 months and really need this job!) and a few weeks ago I went low on my Lithium (skipped a few morning doses and ended up in mixed episodes and had a spider-related psychosis!)

I am really anxious about one day changing my Lithium.  I was wondering how long can I be on it before it will damage my kidneys like it is affecting my thyroid now?

Hypothyroidism :: Levothyroxine For Underactive Thyroid

During a routine blood test in August I was diagnosed with underactive thyroid. I wasn't feeling ill so was quite surprised when I read the symptoms. I've been on Levothyroxine for 3 months now and I feel terrible. I'm so drained and exhausted, angry and frustrated, bloated, fat, stomach pains and unhappy, I keep going back to the doctor but she just pops me more pills and I don't feel she is very understanding or sympathetic. I didn't feel this bad before I started the medication so I'm going to stop it. I was placed on 50mg and two weeks later my blood tests were normal and have been since so for such a small dose does it really matter? I'm so low, sometimes it's all too much I want to have a paddy and a tantrum and smash the place up and if anyone gets in my way then they'll get it too.

The doctor wants me to try CBT self help courses to understand what troubles me. When I'm not having some kind of flip out I know what troubles me - things are a struggle and I hate being ill and I want to be better.

Burping? ADCAL -D3 For Osteoporosis And THYROXINE For Underactive Thyroid

When taking ADCAL -D3 for Osteoporosis and THYROXINE for underactive thyroid, there should be a space of at least 4, yes 4 hours between these medications as side effects could be upset tummy, wind and constipation etc.

So tomorrow I will leave off the ADCAL-D3 for a few days to see if this is the problem.

Ramipril :: Tiredness Feeling All The Time

I have been on ramipril for about 3 to 4 months now. Started on the lowest dose 1.25. But that wasn't bringing my BP down. I have now been on 2.5 for about 2 weeks. I get the tiredness feeling all the time. My GP advised me to take it at night before I go to bed. But doing that I feel by the afternoon the following day that it isn't working right. I haven't had any other side effects. Although im currently fighting an reoccurring ear infection that I have suffered wither years. Which isn't helping my BP according to the doctors. Even though im on 2.5 once a day my BP still hits the 150 / 110 Mark. By tea time My heart rate feels fluttery and I can really feel my heart beating. Mostly dizzy at times but im putting that down to my ear infection. My Question is " is there anyone having similar feelings and readings.

Surgery :: Tiredness After Local Anaesthetic Even After 48 Hours

I had a lesion removed from my back on Wednesday afternoon by local anaesthetic. All was fine..I felt nothing, only pressure but no pain. But my query is this..it's now Friday morning & I'm still absolutely exhausted. The anaesthetist did say she gave me a lot of anaesthetic as they had to go in deep I think. I'm not even in a lot of pain but I didn't expect to feel so terribly tired still.  Anyone any experience of this after a local?

Zocor And Zetia Together? Headaches, Constant Tiredness

I’ve been on Zocor (generic simvastatin) for years now and my cardiologist finally thinks it’s OK to lower my dosage from 80 mg to 60 and then hopefully 40 mg of Zocor. He probably wouldn’t have started tapering me down if it wasn’t for pretty bad side effects I was having from Zocor, including headaches, constant tiredness and pretty much feeling worn down for more than two years.

But, together with lowering my Zocor, he also added Zetia as another medication for lowering cholesterol and I’m wondering is it safe to take it at the same time with Zocor, given all the side effects I have?

Multiple Sclerosis :: Bouts Of Fatigue And Tiredness

Diagnosed with MS almost 2 years ago. Been on Tecfidera for over a year. I'm having such a bout with fatigue that I just want to go to bed and not wake up. EVER. I feel a ton worse now then I did when I was diagnosed ( which happened quickly at an ER visit and then confirmed 3 weeks later).

I am not depressed, never have been and have always had a positive attitude about my disease.  I do not feel sad, I am simply....T.I.R.E.D!

I had a brain MRI and lab work and everything is unchanged. While I am happy to hear this, I wonder how I can feel so crappy yet not be in a relapse. Every symptom I've ever gotten has NEVER left, I mean seriously never.

Is this really all there is in my life?  Going through each day staggering around like a drunk, stiff, uncoordinated, blurry vision, feeling confused, and not  being able to keep my eyes open? Elderly people pass me by when I am walking. WTH?

I am taking Ritalin for my fatigue and it was helping for a few weeks, but now I don't know why I even take it. On Christmas Day I hosted a dinner for friends. I rested as much as I could throughout the day.  I curled my hair, which is just past my shoulders - it didn't take long to do, but I had to take a nap after that before I could start cooking. Really? Who needs a nap after curling their hair?
