Herpes :: Genital HSV 1 Transmission Without Outbreak?

How common is it to transmit genital HSV1 through genital to genital contact only having sex once with no outbreak? I am a female who is worried about transmitting hsv1 genitally to a partner whom I only had sex with once. Any insight in this?

I have had genital hsv1 for 3 years.

Herpes :: Asymptomatic Gentintal Herpes Transmission To Mouth By Oral Sex?

Recently found out that I have genital herpes. It's scaring me because I'm a lesbian and I feel like I will never be able to have sex again. I have a couple of questions.

I'm in a relationship with a woman, would she contract herpes by giving me oral sex when I don't have an "outbreak"? Can she contract the virus orally?

What's are the risks and probabilities?

Can you have herpes 1 in your genitals or is it only herpes 2 in your genitals. What does this really mean?

Herpes :: Incubation Periods For HSV 1 Oral To Genital 8 Months?

I'm now 32, when I was 20 I developed severe blister like lesions on my vulva/vagina and I was a virgin. Prior to this outbreak my only sexual contact was with a guy who I kissed and had oral sex with 8 months previous. So no sexual contact in 8 months, never had intercourse, and that was the first and only time I had oral sex. I have never had a cold sore. I have no idea if the guy had a cold sore. 1 year after my initial outbreak I got another outbreak, ulcers in the vagina but were less severe. I went to the gum clinic because I was very confused as to why I was diagnosed with genital herpes even though I had no sexual activity. The doctor who saw my initial outbreak didn't run any tests but the anti viral medication cleared the sores up within a week. Anyway, I went to the gum clinic when I got the second outbreak, they did a swab which was negative, they never did blood tests. They didn't care less to follow anything up. When it happened a third time, again not at all severe but still a few ulcers, I just went to the doc and got the anti viral. It has only just recently happened a 4th time, I didn't need any medication because by the time I went to the doc she couldn't see the ulcer. She ran other tests like auto immune tests but came back normal. I have since been extremely anxious about this as I am so unsure if I have herpes or not, I'm afraid incase I pass it onto my partner who doesn't know because I don't know, no doctor has ever ran the blood tests and I feel like I've been given really bad care/advice and a lack of follow up. I was wondering how possible is this to be a hsv 1 infection from the guy who gave me oral sex back then? I have been looking and researching the incubation period for transmission and I cannot find any evidence that it would take any longer than a few weeks to display symptoms let alone 8 months?

Herpes :: Risk Assessment - Oral Going Both Ways

So, 13 days ago I had an unprotected sexual encounter with a family friend. No actual sex but there was genital to genital touching and oral sex going both ways. Since that time I have been a nervous wreck to the point that I'm barely functioning because I have convinced myself I am going to get herpes. I have not had any of the flu like symptoms and no rashes or  bumps that are obvious but I am obsessively checking myself multiple times daily. I know I am likely creating most of this anxiety in my head. What ia the likelihood that I was infected and just not showing symptoms yet?

Human Papillomavirus :: Hand To Genital Contact? Genital Warts Risk

I was with a women who clearly had genital warts. When she pulled her underwear down they were visible and she then covered them with her hand. I told her I couldn't have sex with her and she became angry and grabbed my penis with the same hand she had just touched her warts with. I washed myself with soap and hot water afterwards.

STDs :: Possibilities Of Genital HSV 1 Transmission?

I am a woman in my early twenties. About four months ago, my former partner had a small cold sore on his lip (at the time I didn't realize it was a cold sore), and he preformed oral sex on me.  About a week after this incident, I got a fever and noticed a few painful bumps around the opening of my vagina. I also got a few sores inside my mouth (nothing visible, just painful), but they didn't look like typical lip blisters, so I am not sure if I ever even got oral HSV 1 from the incident. I saw my gynecologist and she preformed a swab of the genital lesions a few days later. It came back positive for HSV 1. I went on valtrex to get rid of the lesions, and they disappeared on my genitals in about a week. Since then, I have had no outbreaks anywhere on my body. Additionally, I am taking 500 mg of valacyclovir every single night. I am now having regular unprotected oral and vaginal sex with a non- herpes partner.  I have not told him about my condition.

How possible is it that I give him HSV 1 if I am without symptoms (valtrex one a day, but no condoms)?

-What is the probability that I spread the virus genital to genital?
-What is the probability that I spread the virus genital to oral?
-What is the probability that I spread the virus oral to genital?
-How does my use of valtrex affect these probabilities?

I am shocked that there is little research about the HSV-1 shedding and transmission rates, because this has become such a common phenomenon. Even though my doctor and OBGYN strongly advise me to tell all future partners about this, I am skeptical to tell my partner that I have genital HSV-1 for many reasons. First and foremost, I know about 60% of people already have the antibodies protecting them against the virus, which means if my partner has it, he can't become re-infected. Also, because I have the virus removed from the site of preference, it is even less likely for me to spread the virus.  Additionally, I am taking a suppressant medication, which cuts shedding rates even more. I am very careful to not have sex during outbreaks. Therefore, I feel that me telling him I have HSV 1 would only cause unnecessary emotional turbulence for a statistically improbable event. Genital herpes is surrounded by all sorts of stigma no matter what kind it is. Chances are, if I tell him I have GHSV 1, all he will process (like any early twenty year old man) is the fact that I herpes. In reality, me disclosing this information would cause more harm than good to the relationship. It would be the equivalent of someone who occasionally gets cold sores to inform any person they ever kiss that they have HSV-1, and we all know that no one really does that.

Any answer to the questions posed above would be great, because there is so little information online about rates of asymptomatic shedding from female to male for GHSV 1.

Chlamydia By Giving Oral Sex To A Woman?

I've several questions regarding oral sex and the spreading of STIs. (i) If a man can catch an STI like Chlamydia by giving oral sex to a woman, does the STI live in his throat and, therefore, is the only way he can spread Chlamydia by action involving his throat - kissing, giving oral sex etc? In other words, could a man have Chlamydia in his throat and be "clear" in his genitals? (ii) For a woman to catch an STI from giving oral sex to a man, does the man have to ejaculate in her mouth? Or is the act of simply taking his penis in her mouth enough for an STI to spread to her?

Am I Pregnant? :: By Just Giving Oral To My Boyfriend?

3 days ago, I gave my boyfriend oral after we ate some food but he did not cum, it was for 1-2 min. I could not tell if he had pre-cum. I kissed him for 5 seconds and then he gave me oral. He did not insert his tongue inside me but went near my vagina but mostly on my clitoris. Since 2 days ago, I keep having brown discharge, and today it's still going but it looks more like old blood because there's some clots (that I usually get on my period but now it's brown, not red). My period is due in about 9 days according to my calendar. I also have anxiety and I worry too much so am I wrong to think this and that there's no way I could be pregnant? Or is there a chance? I know that I get brown discharge before my period sometimes but not always-- it is just weird to me because it is supposed to come 9 days later. I'm just scared that it is implantation bleeding or something. I read that implantation occurs a week or so after conception. We have not engaged in actual penetrative sexual intercourse and this was the first time we had oral sex. I know that there are cases wherein there was no penetrative sex but pregnancy occurred. My question is NOT can I get pregnant from giving/receiving oral sex. The bottom line question is: Could I be pregnant if I KISSED my boyfriend after giving him oral (with possible pre-cum as he did not ejaculate) and then him giving me oral?

Herpes :: Asymptomatic Transmission Of HSV1 To Monogomous Male Partner

BF of 1.5 years recently had his first OB, culture came back positive (they didn't test for which type)  [I go in Monday to have routine blood work, going to request them add HSV 2] Physician did not treat him for  HSV as his 3 ulcers did not appear to be HSV to the provider. His ulcers were painless however his malaise, fever and chills night sweats for 5 days bout did him in. II have HSV1 since a child. I Have not had an oral outbreak for 5 months. I am very particular and persistently cautious at the first sign of lip tingle, as I  how contagious herpes virus is and outbreaks are frustrating.  Even through all my meticulous behaviors,  he recently contracted HSV1 genital. I am hypothesizing from oral sex 12 days prior while I was menstruating I must of have been shedding oral HSV1 without any OB sign whatsoever. ( generally I break out during menstruration in the past) timeline is the best fit his IgG is neg leading me to believe a brand new infection for him. I am devastated that without an active oral outbreak I spread this to my partner.
Lifestyle, eating and supplement habits to read up on to prevent future genital outbreaks for him?

How often is HSV1 oral shedding asymptomatic?

How likely am I to get it HsV1 genital from him now?

Are there any additional precautions to take the first year beside condom use, no sex during any hint or active breakout?

Over the years will be begin to shed the virus less?

Thank you

STDs :: Unprotected Giving And Receiving Oral Sex

I made the mistake last week of both giving and receiving oral sex with another male. The other male is of unknown status and was a drug user/sex worker. I received the oral for less than a minute and gave it for roughly 10, with no ejaculation on either side.

Since then, I have had slight lower abdomen pain, a sore throat and what seems like burning urine/penis tip. I am in a monogamous relationship and really don't want to pass this on and certainly don't want to ruin my relationship by bringing this up, I'd rather deal with the guilt as this was a one time thing.

My questions are...

- What are the risks of contracting HSV, Gonorrhea, Chlamydia or Syphilis? (understanding that HIV is very low, if any risk, for oral)

- Is the abdomen/pelvic pain a symptom of anything?

- If the event happened roughly 4 days ago, would I be able to test for Syphilis, Chlamydia, Gonorrhea? I am going to the clinic this evening and asked them to give me antibiotics for Chlamydia and Gonorrhea anyways just in case.

- Would there be any risk of any of these diseases infecting my throat from his penis and vice versa?

- Should I abstain from any sexual encounter with my current partner? There would be no expectation of protected sex considering we are monogamous and saying no or we need a condom would certainly raise red flags.

- Am I at risk of anything else that I can't think of?

I am very worried about this encounter and would appreciate any insight and thoughts you can provide. Mainly, if you think I am at risk from this encounter and if I should abstain from any sexual encounter with my current partner given the circumstances.

HIV Prevention :: Oral And Sex With Condom - Still Risk?

I met a csw at a Vegas hotel bar and took her to room. Asked her twice if she was clean and she said she gets tested regularly.

- she cleaned her genitals with wet towel and soap and asked me to do same.

- she asked me to put condom and performed oral for 5-10 minutes

- she asked me to get on top and have sex. At this point I was nervous: penetrated once for 5 seconds and again for 5-10 seconds and then stopped. Lost erection and asked her to leave

- after she left I jerked off with same condom, there was no leak and i put water to make sure and no leak

Question: she gave me condom from her car. So I am not sure for how long it was sitting in her car but it wasn't expired. It was latex lubricated condom. Is there any risk with using a condom that was in her car. It was sealed

I used same condom for oral and brief vaginal. Is there a risk?
