HIV Risk Assessment - Protected Sex With A Female CSW

28 days ago I had sex with a female CSW. I'm male. Oral then vaginal then oral again. Used one condom for first oral and the vaginal (which, by the way, was extremely short-lived). A second condom for second oral. Both condoms were on before and after and remained intact. No obvious tears, rips, breakages, etc. Most concerned about the vaginal sex. As I said, it was protected, but I can't stop thinking about "what ifs." Also as I said, the condom was on when I inserted and when I pulled out. I don't think it slipped (I'd have noticed, yes?). And, as I also said, it was intact after.

Oraquick in-home tests were negative at 21 and 24 days post-exposure (if you can call it an exposure). I plan on testing again this week (now that I'm four-weeks down the track).

I understand symptoms are not diagnostic, but I have had a few: white tongue (from about 2 weeks after it), maybe a rash on my face and small parts of my thigh but not sure (from about 3 weeks after it). No fever. No sore throat. Nothing else.

What do you think? Was this a no risk situation? How much weight can I put on these negative test results (even if it wasn't no risk)?

HIV Risk Assessment :: Oral Sex, Pre-Ejaculate Exposure

I know my question may have been asked a million times before but I want to get a first hand assessment of my potential risk with HIV based from the series of events that acquired during that night. I was firm to believe that oral sex is safe - up until I read some articles on the internet. Some websites say it's low-risk. Some say it is moderate risk. I do not know which claim is more true than the other

So how this is my last sexual encounter went:

- So I met guys
- I did brush my teeth lightly.
- We basically did give and receive oral sex. No anal sex was done .
- One of the two guys did finger me.
- The whole act last around 30 - 40 minutes
- he ejaculated 5-10 minutes after through masturbation. He "unleashed" it in my legs or in my chest.
- About a minute or two, I gargled water
- We had a small talk after the deed. I was kind of hesitant to believe that he was negative although that's what he did told me. Aside from that, he told me that what we did was a low-risk activity.

Now for my questions:

- Let' say he was indeed positive, what are the chances of him passing the virus on this one time incident?
- From what I have read over at the internet, saliva has a capability to deactivate the virus once any fluid comes contact to it. Is this accurate? Does brushing one's teeth lessen this saliva's capability?
- Is pre-ejaculate just as infectious as semen or blood?
- Would brushing my teeth before or after the act really create cuts/bleeds deep enough that some pre-ejaculate may come in contact with my bloodstream?
- What about deep throat oral sex. What are the risks say he had pre-ejaculate if I was doing it to him?
- Let's also assume that he had a soaring viral load, will this affect my chances? Again, some websites argue that the higher the VL, the higher the risk one is exposed to.
- What are your thoughts about fingering. Is this safer than say, oral and anal sex?
- where I live we have Rapid ICT for testing. How conclusive is it on 6, 8, 10, 12 weeks of testing? Should I be tested after 12 weeks for it to be definitely conclusive or 12 weeks is more than enough?

I know that the only way to know my status is to get tested. It was only been six weeks since the act happened and my anxiety has been killing me to death regarding this incident. I do not want to be the first person documented to have contracted the disease through oral sex.

HIV Risk Assessment - Which Week The Test Shows Up?

1. I had a HIV test done that came back negative. Not sure which one but I had blood drawn and found out my results around an hour or so. Any clue what gen that is?

2. With that test is it safe to assume anything I did 8 weeks previously to have gotten HIV May not show up but anything 8 weeks and on would be conclusive?

3. My only exposure in the past 8 weeks was unprotected oral, 25 days before the test in the window period, with a woman (both ways) whom I had done this act with multiple times before in the past year. Is this a concern?

4. Do I need to re-test based on this information?

Herpes :: Risk Assessment - Oral Going Both Ways

So, 13 days ago I had an unprotected sexual encounter with a family friend. No actual sex but there was genital to genital touching and oral sex going both ways. Since that time I have been a nervous wreck to the point that I'm barely functioning because I have convinced myself I am going to get herpes. I have not had any of the flu like symptoms and no rashes or  bumps that are obvious but I am obsessively checking myself multiple times daily. I know I am likely creating most of this anxiety in my head. What ia the likelihood that I was infected and just not showing symptoms yet?

HIV Risk Assessment :: At Which Time The Tests Are Reliable?

I had unprotected sex with a female of unknown status. (i'm male) it was a one time occurrence.  I went in and had an RNA test at 10 days which came back negative and a antibody test at 26 days which came back negative.  How confident can I be in those results?  It seems that 3 months is the mark but there is some updated news that findings can be given with high confidence earlier than that.

HIV Risk Assessment - Did Fingering With Cut / Abrasion On My Finger

I had a small risk with a high risk woman. There was nothing that happened but a little fingering on the surface level (nothing deep) but my finger had a 2 mm sore/abrasion on it (surface as the type you get when you scrape your knee). The cut had happened about 20 hours before. I immediately stopped when I remember after three seconds.

Herpes :: Risk Assessment - Multiple Unprotected Possible Exposures To HSV-2

I regrettably had multiple unprotected possible exposures to HSV-2 with a guy i was seeing at the time, i do not know his status at all and we are not in contact anymore. I have only ever dated 1 guy before him and that was a long term relationship. We were both each others firsts so we were positive we didn't have anything. After we broke up i ended up seeing this new guy. I would confider him promiscuous, he told me he's had 15-20 partners so far. He's 24 and I'm 21. The last time i saw him was at the end of November and I'm really worried that i might have gotten asymptomatic genital herpes from him. I have never had a cold sore and have not observed any signs/symptoms thus far. I never noticed any on him either when i was seeing him.

I also got tested for other STDS and everything was negative and conclusive. I thought i could move on but now I'm so nervous, i don't know what to do and i feel terrible for even having sex with someone in the first place so fast. What are my chances? I wanted to get tested but turns out they don't do type specific testing in Ontario.

STDs Risk Assessment :: Protected Vaginal Sex With An Escort

2 days ago, I had protected vaginal sex with an escort. She also gave me protected BJ, but she licked my testicles as well which were not covered.

The girl had a lot of "old' bumbles in her back and cheeks as if they were teenage acne marks, but nothing at all down there and nothing at all around her lips. Therefore, I didn't care about them and still kissed her in her back and kissed her in her lips and cheek.

After one hour I felt kind of dizzy and my throat started to soar a little bit. Now, my throat started to hurt me again (very very mild) with a little bit drowsiness.

I'm really worried that I could've gotten something from her
What are my risks of getting any STDs? and what are they?

Thanks in advance

Hiv Risk Assessment :: Handjob At Asian Massage Parlor (cut On Hand?)

Got a handjob at asian massage parlor week ago. Concerned specifically about hiv as well as other stds.

My worries lie on possibility of masseuse having a cut on her hand, vaginal fluids or semen from a past customer coming into contact/crossing with my urethra as she performed the handjob. My confusion is that i read that urethra is one of the modes of transmission but when this question has been asked on dr. And hiv forums they say no risk, no need for testing and very low risk of stds. What is the difference between unprotected vaginal/anal and hanjob where the urethra is concerned or any small cuts, nicks, etc. On either participant? Thank you so much for you help in this matter as i eagerly await your expertise. Again specifically if fresh blood from a cut on hand made direct contact with the urethra (top of penis) is there a risk and why? Or why not?

HIV Risk Assessment :: Tounge Bite (blood) While Deep Kissing

I had a risky encounter with high risk girl 7.7 years ago which looked protected as I wore two condoms and one condom seems to have broke and second one looked intact, since then I didn't had sex, I recently fell in love with one girl and we did a frottage followed by heavy deep kissing and which was then followed by oral sex on her ,

I guess during the process of our deep kissing she probably might have bit my tongue a little and in the process of lovemaking I didn't realised that.

After I performed oral sex I realised..there might be some blood on my tongue which might facilitate HIV infection to her, Although I myself don't know whether I am infected with HIV, but with the assumption I am HIV infected , is it possible she can get HIV infected from these route??...it's been eight months I am avoiding to be intimate with her and been total paranoid about HIV infection for her.

After exactly 22 days post that incident ,she was down with bad sore throat, chills, lost weight a little bit.

Herpes :: Symptoms, But Negative IGG At 7.5 Weeks

I had unprotected sex with a girl who had no obvious symptoms of herpes. She also claims she doesn't have it, which doesn't mean anything since she's never been tested. This happened about 2 months ago. I never developed any symptoms until maybe 5 weeks after the exposure. I started getting slight balanitis (redness around the ring on the head of my penis). About a week and a half or so later I developed a small bump on the base of my shaft, I poked and prodded at it and it went away within the same day. This bump was accompanied by pain in my right leg. I remember poking at it then going to the clinic to get it checked and when I presented my unit, it was so small that I couldn't find it, but I eventually did (it was maybe 1/4 the size it was originally). Anyways, the next day I developed a small bump on the underside of my shaft that was just plain red. I poked at it and pinched it to see if it would pop but it didn't. It scabbed because I made it bleed (I think, I'm not 100%). I then got ANOTHER bump the next day on the left side of my shaft that when I popped it white pus came out (so i believe it was just a pimple, this has happened before but its insanely rare for me to get a whitehead on my penis). Once that was gone about 2 days later I got another bump at the same location as the pimple which when I popped it, clear liquid came out with a little bit of white, but mostly completely clear liquid. I had weird feelings on my penis for about 3 weeks while this was happening also, like stabbing pains and twitching. Fast forward about another week and another bump pops up where the pimple was, this time I am smarter and decide to watch it without popping it. It shrinks to nothing in maybe 2 days. I should mention none of the bumps have ever itched, tingled, hurt (not even the slightest) or scabbed (maybe because I popped them all), except for the one where I believe only scabbed due to the pinching. All of this happened in the span of 4 weeks, about 4.5 -5 weeks after the possible exposure. I had a herpes IGG at 7.5 weeks which came back negative. I should also mention that I have very dry skin on my penis, which I've now been moisturizing. I also do still have slight balanitis, it was never itched or hurt and is only represented as redness on the rim of my penis. And not matter what, I'm going to get another IGG test at 13 weeks (I would do 12 weeks but I'm insanely busy that week with multiple midterms).

My questions are:

1) Is an IGG reliable at this time given my symptoms?

2) Do these symptoms sound like Herpes? I just don't know what else it could be.

3) Wouldn't the antibodies in my blood be detectable since I had been having symptoms for over 3 weeks before I got tested?

4) If I'm negative at 13 weeks, does that rule out herpes as the cause 100%?

HIV Prevention :: Negative 4th Gen Duo Test At Just Under 6 Weeks

Well my situation is I had an exposure back in mid May, and I was tested with 4th generation blood lab test at just a day or two under 6 weeks, which came back negative.

I don't recall having any flu like symptoms such as sore throat, night sweats, or diarrhea, but I did have some dizziness when I moved my head up and down, and I had some fatigue, as well as a slightly runny nose at times, and I had some slight body soreness, but none of this was super strong and I did not miss any days of work or anything. I also had no appetite for a few weeks and lost about 5 pounds or so (I work out frequently). But honestly I could attribute the lack of appetite and subsequent weight loss to extreme anxiety, and also not going to the gym as often out of slight depression/fatigue/anxiety. I also had what I thought to be rashes (basically reddish areas on my cheeks, forehead and shoulders, but no bumps or anything), to which my doctor on the day of my test said were 'unimpressive' (meaning not resembling hiv rashes), and what I thought were swollen and sore lymph nodes, my doctor also checked and said he noticed no swelling, even though I thought they were. He also was very clear to tell me that one could not diagnose hiv through symptoms, but only a blood test. He also made it clear that if the results from this first test come back negative that I couldn't celebrate, as it can take up to three months for someone to show positive (full disclosure, he is a GP, and I don't think had much experience in hiv, and I also do not know how well versed he is in 4th gen testing parameters).

So as mentioned, had a 4th generation duo lab test after leaving my doctor (went to quest diagnostics) which was at just under 6 weeks, which came back negative. (I will tell you I was extremely surprised when I got called a couple days later and was informed the results were negative. I would've bet money at that point that I was going to hear 'positive', and even though I remembered being told not to celebrate, I felt so so happy and relieved. I even regained my appetite at this point, and felt better in general, started going back to the gym more regularly, etc, so I know anxiety is playing at least a part in the way I was feeling).

Then about a week later I got in the mail the script from my doctor for my follow up blood test, with instructions to go back for the follow up mid-late August.. which even though I was already aware of, just thinking about having to get tested again brought all my anxiety back.

I'm trying to really believe in those (just under) 6 week duo negative results before I go for my next test, but my anxiety has basically not allowed me to relax or accept those results being at least a strong indicator. I even called the Pennsylvania state hiv hotline a few weeks ago, and they said a 4th gen test at the point when I took it was MORE than ample time for the antigens/antibodies to form to a detectable level, that the 4th gen test is the best test available in the world, and at that by 5.5 - 6 weeks that was more than enough time for the 4th gen test to provide a correct, conclusive result. She basically told me over the phone that my test result was conclusive and my symptoms don't matter.

I felt a little more confident then, But what worried me some was at about 8.5 weeks (mid July), I got a painful sore on my gum that lasted about 2 weeks, and then at about 11 weeks (early August) I developed some small pink bumps on my left elbow, lasting maybe a week. And I'm not sure if this is anything, but for about 2 months now, the palms of my hands are consistently red with white blotches (not peeling or anything, and they turn white when I press on them), and also my fingernails have become pale (not white exactly, but a very pale shade of pink). Could these things be caused by anxiety? I have read that nails can become pale/white with hiv, but would that happen this early (less than 3 months), or is that more of a late stage thing? (Also, they haven't become brittle or cracked or anything, just pale).

I know that nobody on here can guarantee anything obviously, but I guess I'm just looking for someone to hopefully instill some confidence in me that these symptoms are being brought on by my anxiety, and that based on my negative duo test at just under 6 weeks, I should feel confident going into my 3 month test.
(which I am about a week or so away from, whenever I drive up the courage to go in--as much as I want to hear negative and breathe a sigh of relief and just move on, I don't know if I'm ready to hear the results are positive if that's the case).

I've just been engulfed in this stuff all summer, googling constantly and reading and self diagnosing and building anxiety. I was even up the mountains at a bachelor party this summer and found time to sneak away from my friends to Google hiv symptoms and test info---it's become obsessive.

I've read some posts that say a duo lab test which is negative anytime after 4 weeks is conclusive, and that is essentially what the hiv hotline advisor told me as well, some places said 6 weeks, etc, but I just have a hard time accepting that, esp with the cdc guidelines of 3 months, and with the symptoms I mentioned having.

So even with these '28 day conclusive' claims, and even though I had my test at just about 6 weeks and it was a duo blood lab test which from what I read seems to be all but conclusive, I still find myself worrying greatly about this next test at the 3 month mark, which I would accept as conclusive, but in my head, I'm already anticipating bad news. Is my negative 4th gen test at almost 6 weeks pretty much conclusive? Is it probable that a test just under 6 weeks can/will turn positive?

If anyone could offer some opinions on my whole situation to hopefully make me feel better, I would greatly appreciate it. I also apologize for the length of my post.

(Also I am I 29 year old heterosexual white male living in USA, in good shape, workout often, never have done drugs or cigarettes, rarely drink, and I have always had a strong immune system. Also, I am feeling fine physically currently, even with the symptoms I mentioned having now. Anxiety level still high though.)

Negative OraQuick Testing At 10 Weeks?

I had unprotected sex with a CSW of unknown status. I got a rapid test using finger blood at 9 weeks, the result was non-reactive. And another OraQuick testing at 10 weeks, the result was non-reactive as well. Is this a good indicator of my 13 weeks result?

Also, CDC recommended to test at 3 months and even up to 6 months - I took
Isotretinoin a couple years ago as this drug was originally designed to treat skin cancer.. I was wondering if this will delay seroconversion?

Should I keep testing until 6 months after the exposure?

HIV Symptoms But Oraquick Negative 6 / 12 Weeks AND 6 / 12 Months

I had a exposure with HIV and tested like you are suppose to but now I quest if I used the right test. I tested at 6 weeks 12 weeks 6 months and 12 months all negative using Oraquick oral swab test.

In the past year I have had many infections that I normally don't get and had a rash and sore throat for about 12 past 8 days after the incident.

Now I have 2 cuts that won't heal after weeks. I get canker sores constantly and I never got them before and I don't have a appetite and lost 12 pounds over the last 6 months. Everything points to hiv and I wonder if I am one of the people that don't have enough antibodies to detect in my oral fluids area for the test.

Do I need another test or is this true? accurate at 1 year.

Negative HPT But Periods 2 Weeks Late, Tubal Ligation But Spotting

My last period was 10/1. I had cramping, sore breasts, and irritability leading up to what should have been my next period on 10/29, but to my surprise NO PERIOD!  Having had three children already I know what the standard meaning of 'no period' is, but I had a tubal ligation 12 years ago so this puts a twist on the 'standard' meaning. I purchased a 3 pack of First Response pregnancy tests to put my mind at ease, but hella good that did, they were all negative!  A week after my expected period I had light spotting and was relieved thinking I had just over reacted and the spotting would soon turn into a heavy flow, but the spotting was just that, spotting...now two weeks later I'm still with no period, heavy breasts, and all the other classic pregnancy symptoms. Has anyone else gone through this and if so what was your outcome?
