Had gallbladder removed last November, and everything was fine, only issue that the surgeon had was bladder had adhered to other organs, hence look longer to remove. But all ok.
Everything was fine for 4 months, then started getting same dull ache/pain across top of my stomach. Along with this started to get bloated stomach and also a lot of wind. Lived with it for a time and started taking Buscopan again.Although have the ache during the day it gets worse when I go to bed and lie down, and can only sleep on my back.
Have been to the GP, who says it could be adhesions, however he has now referred me to the Consultant surgeon who operated on me.
Has any else had a similar experience after the operation.
Gallbladder Removed Yesterday
My surgery went well. Surgery was at 11 and I was discharged at 1:30. They did an endoscopy of my upper GI and all was clear. I am pretty sore in my abdomen area and omg my shoulders are killing me from the gas, and of course I have a sore throat. All in all I'm good...had some soup last night, did fine and I have been juiced today. Already the pain that went through to my back for months is GONE!! I had stones and sludge. I'm so in hopes my reflux will improve, its so bad I get acid in my ears and my mouth stays swollen with a scalloped tong. The worse my Gallbladder got the worse my reflux got.

View 1 RepliesGallbladder :: Removed, Bile Leakage?
So I'm a healthy 29 year old female. I had gallbladder issues and they removed it last week.
Well last night I tried to lay flat in bed to sleep and I felt comfortable enough to (for the first time since the surgery, I've been sleeping reclined since). Anyways, I fell asleep. I suddenly woke an hour or 2 later because I seemed to have breathed in too deeply and that caused a very bad burning pain in my upper right quadrant of my abdomen. The pain caused a rush of heat through my body and ever since I've had kind of a burning feeling in my abdomen. I'm very worried about a bile leakage. I'm waiting for my surgeons office to open this morning...
Gallbladder Removed :: Mega Bloating?
I had my gallbladder removed 2 weeks ago. Still have mega bloating. Have history of "bloating" as unfortunately also have ulcerative colitis/diviticulitis and multiple sclerosis (not sure if this is relevant or not).
This bloating is so different as usually when I have problems with UC or diverticulitis my tummy goes down after sleeping. I am a worrier (big time) has anyone else suffered with mega bloating - need my mind put at rest.
Gallbladder Removed - Severe Cramps And Constipation
I am a 55 y/o male, in 2007 I was diagnosed as having a gallbladder problem and the specialist / surgeon recommended I have it removed . She administered a test that involved a drug being introduced intravenously while in what I think was an MRI tube. I remember having stomach discomfort (dull pain) as soon as the drug was introduced. The attending at the time of test explained the discomfort was expected and was a confirmation of sorts, that that I did indeed have a problem with my gall bladder. A few days later the surgeon removed my gall bladder and I was sent home later that day.
Five days later I returned to work, and I seemed to be on the road to recovery. I existed on raw fruits and grains and such,as instructed and was given a list of foods to stay away from.(Fatty foods, dairy , etc.) This is really where my story begins. The surgeon/specialist never warned me of the potential problems that I might encounter if I elected to allow the procedure, now I can't eat anything that doesn't cause discomfort. I don't, nor have I ever had, chronic heartburn, before or after the removal, but have constant problems with severe cramps, constipation, I have to take a fiber supplement every day lest I have excruciating pain passing stool. Of late I have developed a nagging dull pain that is constant just inside of my bottom most rib on the right rear mid abdomen.I have no fever, and no urinary discomfort or bleeding, I occasion have red blood in my stool.
My general practitioner has put my on OTC Zegerid 40 mg 2 tid, after being on this for months I can't tell much of a difference. However this pain in my rib is of major concern as I can't sleep. Can the Zegerid cause this pain in my side ? I am currently unemployed and cannot pay for medical care and I am currently uninsured.
Gallbladder :: Removed, Body Is Not Functioning As Normal
It has been 4 weeks since my gallbladder surgery,. I am light headed, unable to feel when I am hungry, cannot have a normal bowel movement without taking a laxative, gas pains that knock me to my knees, despite drinking 8 to 10 glasses of water I feel constant thirst and I eat a healthy diet. Lastly, I have painful episodes that feel like gallstone attacks. My lab work is great, CAT and X-rays, nothing. I am taking pills for acid reflux.

Enlarged Liver (gallbladder Removed, 6 Years Back)
I am a 33 year old female I do not drink and do not have hepatitis or any type of disease. I was diagnosed with an enlarged liver but after a sonogram and blood work was told I just had a big liver. About six years ago I had my gallbladder removed I was told it was rotten and was functioning at 0%. My symptoms didn't totally go away but was better until about a year ago. I have nausea, severe back pain, pain and bloating in the upper middle and right side of my stomach, itching,a burning sensation beside my rib cage and I sometimes break out in a rash always on my neck and chest. None of this is normal and my liver has not always been like this I feel I have been misdiagnosed ...
View 1 RepliesGallbladder Removed :: Constant Bruise Type Pain Comes And Goes.
Ok I had my gb removed October 15. Prior to my op I would have occasional constant pain in gb/liver area this could last days at a time and was different from an attack as I could still carry on my daily tasks but always aware of this gnawing bruise like pain. I assumed this pain would go after op I'm thankful I no longer have those awful attacks but this pain still comes tho not as often as before.
Does anyone have the same? Should I be worried? Or is it just something I need to put up with? I had liver function and renal bloods done recently and all were normal.
I've also since December started to have burning stomach pain in upper abdomen but that probably isn't connected just thought I'd mention in case someone has had similar since removing gallbladder.
Thank you

View 1 RepliesGallbladder Removal :: Burning/Pulling Pain In Stomach After One Week
I had my gallbladder removed laparoscopically 8 days ago and had to drive myself to my follow up appointment yesterday. That is the most I have moved in the last week and since yesterday I am getting this burning/pulling excruciating pain in the center of my stomach about 2 inches above my belly button. I think I may have strained that muscle getting in and out of my vehicle. It hurts to stand, sit, walk, cough & sneeze. I feel most comfortable laying down elevated. That area is also sensitive to touch. Has anyone else experienced this type of pain?

View 1 RepliesProstatitis :: Feeling Of Fullness Or Tension In My Rectum?
I've been having some symptoms for years now that have a big affect on my quality of life and hold me back quite a lot, and I'm starting to think I might have prostatitis.
The main symptom that annoys me is a feeling of fullness or tension in my rectum. In the past, it got so bad I could not sleep and it drove me up the walls, I felt like I had to defecate but I didn't. I would wake up feeling fine, but as the day went on, the tension would build and build and it got really noticeable by the evening. I still get this but have learned to manage it better as I will explain below. I also have Irritable Bowel Syndrome, but my bowel movements are in fact very regular - the only IBS issue I have is spasms that were noted during a sigmoidoscopy. On a related note, I would also get very painful proctalgia fulgax spasms that wake me up suddenly at nigh and last for maybe 10 minutes or so. If I do not get a good rest every night, I wake up with the tension and pain the next morning and it makes for an unpleasant day.
Certain things would really aggravate the sense of rectal fullness/tension. Sitting is the worst culprit, if I sit on a hard seat I will have nasty feelings of pain and tension in my rectal area for days. If I have a bowel movement that does not go completely smoothly, I get a feeling of incomplete evacuation and will get feelings of tension and spasming for the rest of the day. I also tend to feel quite sensitive after a bowel movement and avoid sitting down at all for maybe an hour afterwards or else I will cause this tension/fullness feeling. Because of these problems I am paranoid about keeping a regular diet so my bowel movements are regular and smooth. I eat the exact same thing every day, and in particular avoid alcohol since it causes harder movements and wrecks the next day.
In the past, I thought my problems might be caused by internal haemorrhoids, but a sigmoidoscopy showed that everything looked fine (only very minor haemorrhoid inflammation), but the doctor did note some spasms/hypersensitivity in the rectal area caused by the movement of the scope. I then thought it might be levator ani syndrome. However, I more recently stumbled across chronic prostatitis online, and I realised I had many of those symptoms that I did not think of as problems. For example, I get up 2-3 times each night to urinate, I get random pains in my left testicle or the tip of my penis, etc.
The control measures I have learned that work for me over the years are also consistent for chronic prostatitis. I take a hot sitz bath every night now (with the weight on my hands) and that is a huge help in relieving the feelings of tightness/fullness. This also stopped the proctalgia fulgax spasms I would get at night. If I am not at work, I avoid sitting completely and this has also helped prevent the tension/fullness feeling from building throughout the day.
In summary:
Considering that my main symptoms are rectal pain/tightness/sense of fullness/spasms, and that these are accompanied by frequent urination at night and occasional, random genital pain, would all this indicate that chronic prostatitis is my problem?
10+ Years Of Ears Crackling / Popping / Ear Fullness
I find it so difficult to describe my ear /nose/Jaw/ throat problem ( I really don’t know what the problem is)! But ill try. So Ive been suffering for 11 years, I am a 30 year old female. When I was 17 I had a jaw operation as I had an under bite ( they moved the bottom jaw back and screwed it into place). All went well, then when I was 19 I took a flight to Ireland with a bad cold, when I hopped off the plane I felt like my ears needed to pop so I held my nose and tried to make them pop. BIGGEST MISTAKE OF MY LIFE! For a few days both ears were completely blocked up,could barely hear. Then it kind of cleared of sorts but left me with this weird popping, gurgle, crackle, feeling of fullness in both ears. Over the years I have seen a number of ENT’s, one gave me grommets, didn’t work. Others are just at a loss as to what it could be!
Ill try and describe my issue a bit more, so ITS CONSTANT, day in day out, im forever holding my nose and softly pushing the air out to no relief I just feel like almost a suction of crap going up and down against my eardrum, Its like it almost wants to pop and let a stream of fluid come flowing out both my ears, but it never happens. An ENT told me that my ears were in fact ‘popping’ but to me it doesn’t feel like it. When I do this the noise is intense, Ive had family members come close to me and they can actually hear the noise! They think its gross lol Sometimes it even makes a weird squeaking noise, its disturbing! Funnily enough when I get a cold, the symptoms improve to an extent (maybe its just because I'm too busy feeling sorry for myself)
Anyway if I breath in quickly and hard through my nose its like it pushes the air/fluid/ whatever it is up against my eardrum and causes intense pressure in the area, but I can breath through my nose gently with no real noise. Then if I swallow or open my jaw it pops releases the pressure BUT then the fluid/air just settles back to the normal position and when I swallow, yawn, move Jaw, or even just breath I have the weird crackle/pop/ear fullness……….It drives me insane! Also one ear will feel worse than the other at any given time, its almost like the air/fluid can move from left to right up to about 10 times a day! I know I sound crazy, my ex fianc tried to tell me its all in my head, I know im not crazy I just hope I don’t have to live with this forever!
I also notice that I clench my jaw a lot and apparently I grind my teeth.
I constantly have theories on what it is and they chop and change. Maybe I have enlarged adenoids, maybe its ETD, maybe its TMJD, maybe I have s**t stuck near my soft palate or maybe its something else……..I also always feel like I have a lot of post nasal drip and my throat gets sore easily and almost feels like its swollen at times. I have tried every nose spray, steroid etc you name it Ive tried it.
Lately I wonder if I should try some natural therapy like acupuncture or maybe a chiropractor or physio….Im hesitant to go back to another ENT as I always feel so disheartened when they tell me there is nothing they can do.
Hemorrhoids :: Butt Pain, No Blood, Throbbing And Fullness Feeling
