Irritable Bowel Syndrome :: Feeling Faint

Anyone have this problem that when your stomach starts to cramp you feel like you are going to throw up or pass out? I am wondering if it is my anxiety doing that for fear of the pain or if it is associated with IBS?

Any suggestions on how to control this feeling and I am already on anxiety meds but for the past week my anxiety has been really high

Dysautonomia :: Feeling Faint, Extreme Weakness And Tired

Hi, my daughter was just diagnosed less than a week ago with DA. I am heavily in the research phase and would love all the input I can get. I am wondering whether to skip our local cardiologist and go straight to finding a specialist, which I am not have much  success with yet. She has been symptomatic for a long time on and off again. Recently, in the last 1.5 mos her symptoms have worsened. She was have "spells" of dizziness, feeling faint, extreme weakness and tired. Over the past week she has gotten worse and has not been able to go to school for 2 weeks now., She gets really faint, very weak and exhausted with ambulation. She has difficulty getting out of the bed.

So my questions are: Since we have seen a progression does this mean it is getting worse and worse? Anyone know any specialist in SC or NC or close by to those states? She was started on Florinef. How long before we see improvements? Her doctor said 1 or 2 weeks? feeling sad and overwhelmed by this diagnosis. This is my 15 yr who was a competitive gymnast and looking forward to team sports in HS. I am sorry for all who are having to deal with this. Thank you in advance for your input.

Women's Health :: Fatigue, Feeling Faint And Cramping

I've been seeing my doc lately about some extreme fatigue I've been having. I've had issues with fatigue for a few years now, but about 6 months ago it has gotten to the point where I could hardly make it to school as I have fallen asleep at the wheel for a split second. So my doctor put me on Prozac because of my history of depression. I tried it for the 8 weeks to no avail, and at this point I doubt it is depression. I've been there before, and I have been doing fine. I'm young and very motivated. Since I've been off of Prozac, my fatigue has only gotten worse. I initially thought it was just because I was getting off of the meds, but about a month later, I continue to feel worse. To the point I can hardly function at my job anymore, let alone get anything else done. I then had my Thyroids tested only to be told they look fine

Then I start to notice that I have been feeling faint a lot lately. Mostly when I make sharper turns, but at times it can come on out of nowhere, like when I'm sitting still! The only thing that really helps this is to lay down until it goes away, and sometimes it will not so I'm forced to go to bed early.

On top of this my periods have been rather irregular. They always have been a little irregular, so sometimes I will miss a period entirely, but mostly I will just have a longer wait until my next period. Lately, they have been coming early. Generally they will be 6 weeks apart, but then I had one that was 4 weeks apart. But everything seemed normal so I brushed it off since I'm used to being irregular anyways. But then my last period started just barely 2 weeks after my last one began! It was a lot lighter (and the blood was a bit thinner) and lasted a couple days less than normal which would be 6-7 days. I also haven't had sex in about 3 months or so.

Along with this I started to notice some muscle soreness and the occasional headache. At first the soreness was random and all over my body, then about a week ago, it all seemed to be in my lower back and lower legs/feet. Now, in the past several days, I've been having severe cramping just like menstrual cramping along with the lower back and leg/feet pain. I'm not due for another period anytime soon, in fact, I just ended my "period" not even a week ago. I've never had cramping in between periods, never this bad, and never for this long.

I am in the process of setting up a sleep study, and I scheduled another doc appointment for June 23rd to discuss my more recent symptoms, but I wanted to know if anyone might have an idea as to what this could be, or if I should try and see someone sooner?

Gabapentin :: Stoned Feeling

I have been prescribed 300mg gabapentin for 3 days then up dose to 600mg then 3 days later up to 900mg and keep increasing until I feel comfortable.

Wow within 2 hours of taking 1 tab I feel stoned, I mean really stoned. It's like I'm not in the same world as everyone else and it's making me fidgety, I think it has already had an effect on the burning pain although pain is still there but pain or no pain I can't function like this daily, how can I up dose? i know side effects are supposed to reduce but how long do I need to be a space cadet until this happens. This feels like a recreational drug not a prescribed drug.

Has anyone experienced this? And did it go away after time?

Vertigo / Dizziness :: Gabapentin Side Effects?

I have been on Gabapentin for 6 months. I was taking 300 mg only once at night for one month and then 400 mg for the other 5 months. weaned off  would drop it 100 mg every 3 weeks. with no withdrawals. maybe a little headache here or there. tiredness. I am now down to 100 mg every other day   by the end of this week I will be completely off of it. Can you get withdrawals at this point?  I can't even explain how I feel. Like I'm in another world. another orbit. getting headaches. my head feels like it swells I know this sounds crazy! I am still on depakote 500 mg at night. Does anyone know anything about this?  Almost feels like I have a virus but I don't. my legs even hurt. Taking this med for migraines associated with vertigo.. Although that's what they say. I will get maybe 0 to 5 minutes several times a day where I say to myself thank God its passing...

Dizziness / Lightheadedness And General Feeling Of Being Off Balance

Some of you might have read my ongoing battle with constant dizziness/lightheadedness and general feeling of being off balance along with the usual symptoms of anxiety thrown in for good measure!

I thought after having to clear CT scans, seeing an ENT doctor twice, having an echocardiogram and wearing a heart monitor for 24hrs and having a scan on my neck and numerous other checks and bloods that I would start to feel better knowing that everything is checking out to be fine but unfortunately not it's just not going away just when I think that things are improving and I have a good day it comes back and bites me in the backside today being a good example I've felt OK all day then go to bath my kids and bang it hits me, I go all dizzy and my body feels very heavy and like I'm being pulled to the right all the time then I go into panic mode and worry about what is happening to me, how I feel and what if I pass out, I'm so sick of worrying about what's going on all the time it's taking over my life!

I also had a call from the docs about some bloods I had done last week they want to see me so wondering if anything has showed up on them!

Vertigo / Dizziness :: Unbalanced Feet - Dizziness While Walking And Standing

I have dizziness everyday while walking, standing as well as feeling off balance, unsteady on my feet like I am gonna fall over. I have had my ears checked by an ENT doctor in 2014 and he said I had meniere's disease so he treated it as that but medicine didn't help so went to another ENT doctor in 2015 who said I don't have meniere's disease but have hearing loss in both ears and did a test on my vestibular function which he said was normal so he referred me to a neurologist and I went and had an MRI done which was normal as well. I have had blood work done in November last year and my white blood count was a little high but not concerning and everything else was normal....no diabetes. Also had a stress test done on heart and was normal. I am at my wits end with this cause I don't know what's going on. I plan to see an eye doctor soon. Oh and I was diagnosed with anxiety 4 months ago but this dizziness and off balance feeling has been going on for 2 years now. I am on blood pressure medicine too. don't know what else to do. Does anyone have these same symptoms ?

Hormones :: Feeling Like Im Dying, Tired, headaches, Feeling Sick

I'm only 17 years old. I have felt the way i feel now for months. I am not pregnant before anyone suggests that!

I suffered from a disease/illness where my glands swelled up til they were huge and you could clearly see them. I had a fever all day, i would go cold and the hot, i had no energy at all and was generally sick! The doctor gave me some antibiotics and it cleared up.

Ever since then i have not been myself. I feel sick at some point during the day, i constantly have a weird feeling in my head, its not pain as such, but like a numbing feeling and irritation. I feel like im going to faint all the time, im weak and very tired, i also get chest pains from time to time & my breathing is rubbish, its hard to breath at times, i generally feel like im dying

I have had countless blood tests and all of them showed nothing!

This totally upset me because im frustrated, i just want it to be over!!

The doctor told me just to have lots of water and exercise.

My family were convinced that i suffer from anxiety and panic attacks!

As i had a panic attack due to the fact i felt so ill i thought i was dying!

It wasn't just happening to me for no reason the attack.

so they took me to the doctor where he told me my symptoms were that of anxiety and panic attacks so he gave me some tablets to take.

But i still feel the same!!

I do not believe that i have anxiety

I am sick if people believing that is what it is!!

Mirtazapine :: Weight Gain On Mirtazapine 30mg

I have just started on the 30m Mirtazapine and it's my 3rd night taking them ans i have read up on a lot of different forums that there are patients gaining weight off these? well i would like to know what the odds are of gaining weight because i have always had problems with weight gain, i can never put on any weight, no matter how much i eat, i have a fast metabolism and i am wondering, will the mirtazapine surpass my high metabolism. also in some cases i've heard it slows your metabolism down too..   but it would actually be a benefit for me to gain some extra weight.

Mirtazapine :: Tapering Off Mirtazapine - Spinning Myself In Circles

For the first time in a very long time, I'm finally in a good enough place to make the step in coming off my Anti-depressant. I've been on Mirtazapine 45mg for the last 4/5 years and before that a string of various of medications.

Despite my anxiety been kind of excessive at the moment, after a discussion with my GP, he was happy to let me begin tapering down the dose. The problem is with my anxiety I feel it mainly physically rather than mentally so it makes me a little oversensitive to any changes that take place in my body.

I guess what I am searching for is some reassurance so I can stop driving myself up the wall, exhausting google search on mirtazapine withdrawal. 6 nights ago I started my first reduction so 45 mg to 30mg. In all honesty it's not been that bad, a few waves of nausea, headaches and random aches and pains. Those I was expecting so don't mind too much. The trouble is that for the last 3 days, I've found myself a little short of breath for most of the day. It's nothing that's outwardly noticeable at the moment, but it's there and is slightly concerning. Has anyone else experienced this when tapering?

I'm kind of freaked out a little because one of my fears that's arisen since the mirtazapine is the that i will develop random allergies and my brain is wondering if I've suddenly developed an allergy to my meds (ridiculous, I know!) The other thing is that the rest of my family has had either viral chest problems lately so maybe I've just picked up that and it's a coincidence? Or it could just be the anxiety.

I'm totally spinning myself in circles at the moment so any wise words are most welcome at this point. If I know it is just withdrawal and nothing that can actually hurt me then I'm fine with whatever effects it throws at me.
