Lansoprazole :: Side Effects - Bad Wind And Burping
I have just completed a month course of this medication, prescribed due to possible acid reflux. I got rid of the final tablet as I feel the side effects were too bad to carry on even for just one more day. I felt worn out - very bad wind and burping from week one - my husband commented on this. Also feeling as though I would throw up at any minute - still a bit of shoulder pain but the chest pain has now diminished. Had a couple of nights when I did not even go to bed it was that bad so perhaps that is why I am so tired. Now two days after my last tablet I still have a lot of wind which does not seem to be shifting - maybe I will try charcoal tabs as I have heard that these work well. Still stressed out at work so I suppose I will have to put up with this until I retire. Really makes me fee so depressed and unhappy
View 1 RepliesGallbladder Removed :: Stomach Bloated And Lot Of Wind After 4 Months
Had gallbladder removed last November, and everything was fine, only issue that the surgeon had was bladder had adhered to other organs, hence look longer to remove. But all ok.
Everything was fine for 4 months, then started getting same dull ache/pain across top of my stomach. Along with this started to get bloated stomach and also a lot of wind. Lived with it for a time and started taking Buscopan again.Although have the ache during the day it gets worse when I go to bed and lie down, and can only sleep on my back.
Have been to the GP, who says it could be adhesions, however he has now referred me to the Consultant surgeon who operated on me.
Has any else had a similar experience after the operation.
Gastric Band Surgery - Awful Trapped Wind Post Op
Hi, I had my gastric band surgery on Saturday by single incision laparoscopy. I'm experiencing awful trapped wind which is making it difficult to sleep...Wind Eze hasn't been of much help and neither has peppermint tea, does anyone have any other ideas?
Also - I have low blood sugar due to the lack of eating. I've been increasing my intake but this hasn't got rid of the symptoms. Has anyone else experience dizziness, nausea and weakness? If so, how did you solve it?
Ovarian Cyst? Frequent Urination And Indigestion / Wind / Belching
About 4 weeks ago, I started with very frequent urination and indigestion/wind/belching. Both symptoms were intermittent, but worse when I got my period. My bladder constantly felt full, achy and very uncomfortable, even after passing urine. I was treated for a UTI with antibiotics, but not much relief and no bacteria found in urine. However the symptoms do come and go and vary in intensity. Other symptoms - a noticeably larger, bloated looking abdomen, which feels heavy & draggy at times (I'm not pregnant) sometimes a stitch type sensation and slightly achy sides, but not bad. My periods have also changed recently - shorter cycle and heavier/longer periods. Full bloods done which all came back normal and good. CA125 results also came back normal/good. Doc thinks perhaps still UTI or slight prolapse or fibroid. Someone else mentioned IBS. I've booked an app with a gynaecologist in two weeks and am also awaiting an ultrasound app. I am 42 years old and otherwise fit and healthy... Oh, apart from a wee anxiety issue! Namely, health anxiety! Great! I'm worried and wondering what it could be. I'm thinking maybe a cyst!?

I have been experiencing clogged nose without colds, Pain around the eyes, forehead, the temple, migraine headaches, dizziness and imbalance when walking. A visit to the ENT showed normal hearing, no ear blockage or infections, no sinusitis or nasal polyps. His diagnosis is Vasomotor rhinitis. He said the weather, temperature, wind blowing triggers my blood vessels to swell and thus cause those symptoms. Anyone experiencing these weird feelings? Its so debilitating and affects my daily activities.
View 1 RepliesIrritable Bowel Syndrome :: Fybogel Mebeverine, Colpermin, Wind Eze, Buscopan Didn't Work
I have diagnosed with IBS for nearly 2 years now and have tried a number of medicines (including Fybogel Mebeverine, Colpermin, Wind Eze, Buscopan hyoscine butylbromide, and VSL#3). This has been complimented by cutting out gluten and following the Fodmap diet. Nothing has changed and I’m an in constant discomfort i.e. every day, with peaks of pain (stomach pains, wind, need for toilet etc.) and troughs of just simple discomfort in the stomach. I have lost count of the amount of times I have gone to the doctors and I’m now being broadly told: “you have IBS, deal with it”. Does anyone have any similar experience of this and has anyone got any suggestions as to what I can try next? I feel that I am stuck.

From 5-6 days I have been experiencing frequent and excessive urination. The urine is totally clear. And as soon as I finish urinating I feel that I want to urinate more with the feeling that the urine gets collected above the privates. The urine is colourless. And all my urine reports have been clear with specific gravity of 1.010-1.012 and some 4-5 hpf of pus and epithelial cells
View 1 RepliesPerimenopause 49 :: Excessive Bleeding
I am 49 years old. My periods started becoming a irregular a few years ago. They started coming later and lasting longer. Then I started skipping a month and then they would last three weeks.I went six months without a period.when I finally got one that lasted for weeks. The first three weeks it was moderate. Then I was going through super tampons and pads hourly. I was searching the net for explanations and ways to make the bleeding stop. What I found was that the excessive bleeding could be due to anemia from all of the bleeding. I started taking 27 mg of iron with 100 mg of vitamin C with each dose. Multi vitamin B and fish oil. The bleeding stopped within two days I did this for two periods now and it's worked.there's no rhyme or reason for this to work but it does I made an appointment with my GP. She said welcome to perimenopause. I am going for an ultrasound just to make sure nothing else is going on. BTW, I am also a nurse.

View 9 RepliesImpotence At 26 :: Excessive Sex/masturbation
I had a recent problem with my sexual life. I have always masturbated at least everyday of my life, and then I met this girl 2 months ago. We had great sex for over a month, and I see to it that she will be satisfied. I even force myself to come three times, although I can feel some extreme exhaustion on my part.
Then one night I masturbated, and I can feel a total drain of my energy. The next morning, I found out that would be the last night that I would masturbate. Now, I cannot feel any urge for sex, and my penis wont feel anything. It has been two weeks now that I cannot have an erection, like it is dead.
The anxiety and depression is killing me.
They advise that to do a reboot for a few months would help but I cant help to worry everyday. Because of this it has affected my outlook in llife.
I would blame it on my excessive masturbation.
Omeprazole :: Excessive Burping
i think this may be caused by the omeprazole.
flatulence is mentioned in the side effects but i do not know if this include the burping. it is awful! for at least a half an hour burping keeps annoying me, again and again after i take omeprazole.
i must take it with diclofenac. last time i was on diclofenac i got gastritis. now i have to take these two together.
other people take the omeprazole on empty stomach.
but if i have to take these two medicines together, i must take them with the food. i cannot take diclofenac on empty stomach, can i?
which way would be the best?
do i have to take them together? should i not use omeprazole straight in the morning on empty stomach and then diclofenac later on with a meal?
generally, i do not have strong acid or reflux. i only take omeprazole because i have to take diclofenac.
how would the omeprazole react with contraception, which i also take straight in the morning?
Rhinitis :: Excessive Mucus Production
My problem is the excessive production of mucus. It has been going on for about 12 years or so (I am now 58) and it is getting worse. Embarrassingly, it happens mainly when I eat (usually halfway through eating a large main meal, but also when eating hot and spicy food). It's embarrassing because nobody wants to share a meal with somebody who has a perennially runny nose.
It also happens, bizarrely, when I sit on the loo in the morning, when my nose runs non-stop! I have no idea why.
It also happens, albeit less spectacularly, in my sleep. This means that I usually wake up in the middle of the night, wheezing. About three years ago my doctor diagnosed asthma, and a Ventolin inhaler does help ease the wheezing, but the main problem is coughing up phlegm. Once I've cleared that off my chest (with difficulty, sometimes), I usually feel better. But increasingly I am dreading nights, because sleeping (ie lying down) causes that congested feeling and wheezing chest.
When I do strenuous exercise, particularly in cold weather, my chest seems to seize up and breathing gets difficult. This is accompanied by a noticeable increase in my heart rate, which I can feel thumping in my chest. Again, Ventolin seems to help here (which I guess is why my GP diagnosed asthma three years ago -- although I never had asthma as a child.
Other side effects include lack of smell or taste. They really are very poor (practically non-existent) these days. But is this a by-product of getting older? After all, my hearing is much poorer these days and that is obviously not caused by excessive mucus!
I gave up smoking ten years ago. I am about 3 stone overweight (6ft 1in and 16st), two stone of which I pile don after giving up smoking. I work (mainly) in an office environment.
My doctor has prescribed Beconase nasal spray, which is only partially effective. Sometimes it seems to have no effect at all.
To be honest, my GP was pretty disinterested, so I haven't returned in over two years. In fact he retired about a year ago and I have yet to go and meet his replacement, because I expect I'll again be fobbed off. After all, my "illness" must appear rather insignificant to an overworked doctor dealing with patients with life-threatening and nasty diseases.
In other words,if you can give me any pointers, regarding what the problem is likely to be and what I can try, I am very happy to sort this out for myself.
Anybody else recognise any of the above?
Prostatitis :: Excessive Sexual Activity Is The Cause
Have had flare ups occasionally for 30 years. Like most people multiple antibiotics never were helpful. A turp at 37 was a mistake. Prostatitis is caused by trauma; injury, cycling, excessive sexual activity, sitting, etc. some or all. For most people particularly younger guys, excessive sexual activity is the cause. This is like a sports injury to the gland, the nerves or the muscles in the area, just plain over use. Limit sexual activity, once a week or less if you can handle it. Eventually the symptoms, burning, frequency, pain, etc. will dissipate on their own after a couple of months things will improve a great deal. If you have irritated it once, remember you can do it again and the symptoms will return. Forget the ED meds till everything calms down and then moderation is likely best.

View 1 RepliesPerimenopause 47 :: Excessive Uterine Bleeding
I am 47 years old and went through the hot flashes 3 years ago along with emotional highs and very lows. On November 18 I started my period and 39 days of very heavy bleeding with clots, gusting at times, soaking through 2 maxi pads put together within half an hour. I went to the ER cause I fainted and they said I was anemic so I started on vitamins and iron which now are making me constipated. What hell. How come no one ever told me about this? I am so glad I found this site and other women who are going through this. I finally stopped 2 days ago but feel like I am fixing to start again. My poor husband has been supportive but I know he is getting annoyed but not as much as I am. How long can this last? I will definitely inform my daughter of this and was wondering if there was a support group anywhere? Wish me luck...and yes I am seeing a OBGYN on Monday. Any advice on natural remedies?

Excessive bleeding after tubal?
I am 25 years old and had my tubes tied in February during surgery to remove iud, ovarian cyst, and a 2nd leep was performed. (My first leep was performed July 2013 for CIN 2. ) I had my first period 3 weeks later, which was 7 days and not unusually heavy. The missed two periods until I had my next one in mid May, except for one morning I woke up and was laying in fresh blood. I was bleeding extremely heavy (4 heavy pad in an hour with leakage) but then it stopped. A month later when I started it came in gushes instead of a steady flow. I would soak through pads, tampons, and clothing within seconds and it would last for about an hour (again 4-6 pads an hour with additional tampons) I have now being going this for 16 days. Every few hours I will have heavy gushes that flood. It's literally pouring out of me. I have had 2 different mirenas over the last 7 years. My second had to be removed because of large ovarian cyst were forming and my string had been removed during my first leap. Therefore I haven't had a period or more than spotting in years.. Is this amount of bleeding normal? I am also on bc pills to try to keep cyst down. My husband is very worried but it's is affecting my life to the point I can't even have company in my own home bc I fear blood will just start pouring down my legs even with protection. I called Friday to make an appt but they had left for the day. It's now Saturday and I'm weak, HR 115, headaches, fatigue, cramps, and now seem emotionally worn down. also my supraclavicular lymph nodes are slightly swollen.
