View 14 RepliesRunning Up A Hill :: 18 Years Old - Burning Sensation And Trouble Breathing
I am an 18 year old female who has had some heart problems in the past 5 years but they're on the mend. Last night i was running up a hill for what was a maximum of 30 seconds when suddenly i go this burning sensation right across my chest and into my throat i found it very difficult to breathe and was continuously coughing and had this coppery sticky taste in my throat. I started to panic thinking is was something to do with my heart and my legs went weak, i couldn't see properly and had a headache. I eventually got home and my symptoms didn't go for another hour and a half. I put my head in between my knees and gulped down freezing cold water as suggested by my asthmatic sister which helped dull some of the symptoms. Today i feel very weak and tired and haven't had much of an appetite which is very unusual for me . I'm unsure whether it is asthma or not because im not sure whether attacks usually last that long.

View 3 RepliesShingles :: Experiencing Pain In The Right Side Of My Neck?
I am a 20 year old female that has been experiencing pain in the right side of my neck that radiates down my right arm to my fingers for a week or so. This is often accompanied by a burning sensation under my right armpit and down my arm. Today this has been replaced by a tingling sensation on my chest, jaw, arm and occasionally my upper abdomen. This is again all on my right side. I also have a headache. Could this be shingles?
View 1 RepliesCancer :: Pain In Right Side Of Head, Under My Eye And My Neck
I have a dull pain in my right side of my head. I also have pain under my eye on the same side. The eye is watering and I have an on and off runny nose. The back of my neck is also stuff
I'm worried that it may be a tumour even though I've had an eye scan and the only thing wrong was a blurry pupil. (I had the scan after a big migraine on the right side)
Hot Pain Radiates Up The Left Side Of My Neck
I have degenerative disc disorder, bulging disc in my lower back and neck, severe pain with numbness in my arms and hands that wake me up throughout the night. It's worse when I lay on my right and left side, I also get a hot pain that radiates up the left side of my neck. It seems to be getting worse.
View 1 RepliesENT :: Jaw, Neck And Ear Pain, And Gland Swollen On One Side
Last night, I abruptly developed constant, fairly severe pain on the left side of my head radiating from my jaw (right in front of my ear) to the point where I could feel it in my left upper teeth, and up the back of my neck to the base of my skull. My left ear also felt full, and my throat was constricted. It continued this way for several hours at work until I got home, took Ibuprofen, and iced it. I also noticed a swollen lump (probably lymph node?) halfway down the left side of my neck, towards the back. The lymph nodes under my jaw on the left also feel swollen. Today, it isn't hurting constantly anymore, but the ear fullness and throat constriction is still present, along with the swelling of the lymph nodes. All of these symptoms are localized to the left side. I have a doctor's appointment in a few days, but until then I was wondering if anyone had experienced something similar?
View 3 RepliesNeck And Shoulder Pain On The Other Side After A C-5 C-6 Fusion
I have been suffering from nerve pain that ran down my left arm and shoulder and fingers from a bulging disc in the C-5- C-6 so i had been taking oxycodone 10-325 but when we decided to do surgery we cut that down to oxycodone 5/325 since that is what the surgeon would be giving me after surgery so i said okay no problem. I had surgery on 2/26 of this year, But after surgery come to find out he dropped me to a hydrocodone 7.5/325 and can't understand why the 7.5 hydro's weren't working to take away the pain. I had been having a lil bit of pain on the right shoulder before surgery, but nothing like what i had been having in the left so the surgeon side well "let's hope this will fix this side too" well it didn't. In fact it made the right side worse, I now feel like i have a hot knife twisting at the base of my neck whenever i turn my neck to the right or left, which in turn runs down into my shoulder blades and into my right shoulder which makes my shoulder feel like someone it trying to tear my shoulder off at the cuff along with weakness in my right arm which i never had before .. I have also started to notice a tingling in my right pinky finger and ring finger. I have told him over and over about this but all he does is get the X-rays and says the fusion is looking fine. and my primary can't do anything since he told her he would treat my pain for 6 weeks and he is refusing to do anything about the pain what so ever. i am to my wits end and any advice would be welcomed.

View 1 RepliesPain In Right Side Of Neck After Reduced Dose Of Thyroxine
I am a 50 year old woman who was diagnosed with an underactive thyroid 18 years ago. I have never been right as the Dr keeps changing my dose every time I have a blood test. He says this sometimes happens, but I constantly feel lousy, tired spotty, overweight, high blood pressure (now medicated) and IBS. I work all week and spend the weekend in bed.The mood swings are also awful. Since another reduction I am now on 100mcg and have developed an unusual pain in the lower front right hand side of my neck (can't feel a lump or anything) but get aching through shoulder and side of head.
am really getting a bit fed up now as the Dr just doesn't seem to understand how I feel and has offered anti-depressants. I have seen a specialist in the past but he was a diabetic man rather than thyroid and actually commented on the wrong set of blood results!
i guess my plea is twofold first is there anyone else out there who has had similar symptoms and 2 can anyone recommend a good specialist? I'm thinking of going privately now even though it's so expensive and thought about the Birmingham Thyroid Clinic?
Shaky Hands And Neck, Shoulder And Arm Pain Down Right Side
I have had shaky hands for years and has recently got worse. I woke up with pain in my shoulder which spread to my elbow, wrist and hand. I went to the gp and was given a splint, pain killers and referred to a hand specialist for nerve conduction studies for carpal tunnel. I was also told to go for a massage as the muscles on the right side of my back and shoulder were solid. However, when I went for a massage it only made things worse- I went into a healing crisis (apparently this is a real thing!) and was in agony. I saw an orthopaedic physio privately who thought i may have nerve damage in my thoracic spine, but when I went back to the GP I was told to continue with carpal tunnel diagnosis. The nerve conduction studies came back negative and now I'm being sent for an MRI and referred to neurology. 6 months later I am no closer to knowing what is wrong or how to tackle the impact it is having on my life.
I am an occupational therapy student too and using dragon software to write my assignments as it is difficult for me to handwrite or type. I am also a painter and crafter and have not been able to do any of the things I enjoy. I am currently on a health and design placement and am looking at spinal injuries and neurological conditions. I thought it would be a great opportunity to look into ways I can help myself as well as other people- Is any one else having issues using their hands? Is anyone using adaptive equipment- its not attractive stuff! ? Maybe there is an element of a task that other people would like a product to help with?
Heavy Right Side Of Head, Chest And Neck Pain
I'm a teen girl, and for about a week I've been getting weird chest and upper back pains and even my neck (like a burning sensation sometimes). Everything in the left side. I went to the doctor and he said that it was costochondritis, but now i've been getting a weird feeling in my head, like a heavy feeling and sometimes headache. I convinced myself that I had a brain tumor because a few months ago a friend if my mom died because of that. I don't know the symptoms of a brain tumor and I'm afraid that if I google them what I have is a part of those symptoms.
I read that it might be because I'm anxious. I am constantly anxious at school and since the chest pains started the only thing that I can think of is that I am going to die. I really need to know if something is wrong with me. I've been to the doctor 3 times this week and he always says the same, but I don't know what to think. My dad told me that I should stop thinking about it but it constantly happens and I can't stop thinking about it.
Anxiety :: Side Of Head And Neck Shock, Jolt, And Pain
So I suffer from anxiety. I have not been that anxious. A few days ago I was walking and randomly I got this jolt like shock in my neck and on the side of my head. Ever since then I have had a little pain there and if I turn my head sometimes it does the same thing, It feels like a shock wave and twitch in my head and neck but it is just on one side. Can anxiety cause this?

View 4 RepliesHeadaches / Migraines :: Mild To Severe Head And Neck Pain Only On Right Side
For the past year I have experienced mild to severe head and neck pain only on right side. What would cause it and can I get rid of it completely? Some things help but it always comes back. I have not had any injury to my knowledge if so it was due to possible moving wrong or something. I can relieve the pain slightly by pushing my head down and to the left with my left hand. It's really bad if I cough or sneeze. If I massage the indentation on the right of spine on neck at base of skull it helps a little. A chiropractor has helped as well as using a water pillow but the pain eventually comes back.

View 2 RepliesRunning With Injuries :: How To Deal With Shin Pain?
I actually began running about 2 months ago, starting with a run 2 minutes, walk 4 and trying to gradually build from there (I m a college student, and had been walking quite a lot, around 4 miles, to and from class each day prior to beginning running). Problem is, my shins have been giving me a LOT of problems. I'm not sure what to do and am becoming quite frustrated...I've tried new shoes (currently in nike prestos, I love the shoes, they are the most comfortable things I have ever worn in my life!), gradually building up my runs, stretching, taking rest periods when they start to hurt...and as a result have not been able to increase mileage at all!
Should I run through the pain? I am guessing these are just shin splints...is it okay to run through these, do they go away? Is there anything else I can do? If anyone has any advice at all, I would really appreciate it. It is driving me nuts not to be able to run! I am trying to "rest"...so for the past month and a half have only been running about 2 days a week, with each run only about 15 minutes long.
