Endometriosis :: Sciatica Pain Associated With Endo?

I ended up in the ER last week after having lower left abdominal pain and severe lower back pain. I have had pain on and off for the past 4 months. The cycle of pain seems consistent - starting mid-cycle and relief the first day of my period (of course one pain is just substituted for another since I have bad cramping but I prefer the cramping to the mid-cycle pain).

This month as been by far the worst and now I'm having pain radiating up and down my left leg and thigh. The only thing that seems to help is sleep and pain meds only take the edge off.

After having an external/internal ultrasound, the ER doc thought it's most likely Endo- which is really frustrating since there doesn't seem to be an end in sight. I'm already on BC- the Nuvaring, so I don't think there will be any quick solutions with BC pills.

My questions: How common is sciatica with Endo? Are there better BC pills/shots/etc. that will help the Endo symptoms?

I've NEVER had any reproductive issues until last September when they found Adenocarcinoma in Situ on my cervix from a stubborn HPV infection. It's been one thing after another since my colposcopies and cone biopsy. I've read that Cone biopsies can actually make you significantly more prone to developing Endo since it can narrow and scar your cervix and not allow for period blood to escape the uterus.

Cerazette - Women Have Gotten Pregnant On This Pill

I started Cerazette about 6 months ago as I'm in my late thirties and my periods were becoming more painful, plus, condoms were started to irritate me. since starting it I had one tiny bleed and that's it, it's a revelation but I am constantly worried that I'm pregnant as it's odd not having periods and I have read that women have got pregnant on this pill, I have always taken it correctly. I may be being silly but if I'm not getting periods does that mean that I am not ovulating either, hence, would not be able to get pregnant and if I was accidentally to get pregnant on the pill then would i still be able to use a pregnancy test whilst still on the pill, i.e. would it show up? I'm just paranoid that after my Husband and I have had sex that a week later I take a test!!! Any ones views on this would really put my mind at rest as I'm considering coming off it just to get a period even though I don't want one!!!

Contraception :: Cerazette Making Anxiety Worse?

I'm back on Cerazette after being changed to Cerelle which didn't agree with me, however I've noticed over the last couple of months my anxiety is worse, I'm very up and down , sore chest all the time, emotional, and basically want to cry some days for no reason as in feeling really hormonal. I've become over worried, panicky, and I'm worried Cerazette is making my anxiety worse. however if I come off it I have the most horrendous periods when I go dizzy and everything ... Really fed up as can't take the combined pill and I don't want periods either

Hair Loss With Cerazette Pill (low Oestrogen)

I was taking cerazette (mini pill) for approx 3 months but I started to notice a lot of hair loss. My GP told me to stop the pill and wait for it to get out of my system - I also had blood tests just to rule out thyroid problems and low ferritin - all ok. I stopped for 6 weeks but had no period and hair loss still the same, very noticeable. I went back to docs who said could be low oestrogen so commenced me on microgynon - been taking this for 3 weeks now but hair still the same! All falling out round hair line and breaking all over. At a loss what to do now. Wondered if cerazette can mess with cortisol level?? I am a healthy person, I eat well and exercise daily, I don't drink alcohol or smoke. I do suffer from insomnia don't know if that's linked. Any advise would be really appreciated.

Cerazette Pill - Irregular And Disturbed Periods

I have been on the pill for nearly a month now, before I went on the pill, I had really irregular periods, probably one every couple of months, if that.. now last tuesday I noticed I had started my period, but it wasn't a 'proper' period, it isn't enough to worry about it leaking, and it only seems to happen if I use a tampon, last night I used a pad and woke up to nothing so assumed I had finished, but shortly after I thought I should be safe so used a tampon and there was suddenly a lot of blood on it.

Now over the last week and 2 days, it hasn't always been blood, more like weird brown stuff, what should I do, is this normal or shall I go back to the nurse? It's just a nuisance, as although I'm not actually on my period, I can't have sex like it?

Cerazette Pill - No Periods But PMS (cramps) And All Other Symptoms

It's great for me and I have no real problems with it, I no longer get a period which is fine with me! However, when it comes around to the first couple of days of the month I get some of the feelings I used to get when I did get a period like, mood swings, painful tummy, eating non-stop chocolate!! I can handle this as it's only a few days and not unbearable, but I just wanted to know if this is a common thing to happen. Do women usually still feel an effect of their period, without actually having a bleed?

Cerazette - Positive Experience - Progesterone Only Contraceptive Pill

Just wanted to provide information for people thinking about or just starting cerazette mainly because all I could find were people's horror stories before starting it so thought I'd add a positive review of the pill. It's a progesterone only contraceptive pill.

I started it just under a year ago and have loved it. I originally went on it due to a very long menstrual cycle. My bleeding was totally normally - rarely very heavy, no period pain and lasting between 5 and 7 days. But my cycle as a whole was quite erratic and very long on average over the course of a year - my average cycle length over a year was 37 days. The doctors found nothing wrong after blood tests etc so said not to worry and if I wanted it more controlled to go on the pill. So I did.

I started it on day 1 of my cycle back in november 2013 and that is the last normal period I have had. I've had a couple of days of very light spotting each month and 2 periods (both of which were very light and only about 3 days in length) in almost a year.

Many people talk about weight gain and I have not changed my diet or exercise routine at all and my weight has fluctuated by about a kilo. So really my weight hasn't changed. I have not suffered any depressive moods or mood swings. Though before starting cerazette my only symptom of an upcoming period was tender breasts and I still get that occasionally.

I've also not had any headaches or an increase in acne. Being 24 I still get the occasional spot but they've not gotten worse or more prevalent since starting cerazette.

Overall I'm really happy with cerazette as I've also not gotten pregnant over this past year which is particularly delightful as I do not want a child at the moment. It is also the only method of birth control me and my boyfriend have been using since March.

If you have any questions about it let me know, it can be really daunting searching the internet and reading people's experiences on cerazette as some of them are horrific but here is a positive one. Its worked exactly how I wanted it to except instead of making my periods regular, got rid of them which is even better!

Contraception :: Started Getting Periods On Cerazette Pill - Is It Normal?

I've been on Cerazette (mini - pill) for 2 years and since I started my periods stopped which was great and what my doctor told me would probably happen. However 3 months ago my periods have seem to have come back the same time each month as if I'm not on the pill anymore. The only thing that I can think of that's caused this is that i've change the time i'm taking my pill from about 9am to 6pm could this be why? I thought after my first period I might just need to settle back but maybe not!

Just wondered if anyone can help me is this normal? I've read that irregular bleeding can occur but this seems to be pretty regularly, it's really annoying!

I'm thinking of changing to the implant will this be a better option? or as it's the same kind of hormone will my periods still carry on?

Cervical Spondylosis :: Computer Use Make It Worse

I have been off work since the end of May and Cervical Spondylosis was diagnosed by the Occupational Health doctor via the Local Authority for whom I work. This discomfort and pain started and deteriorated whilst working on the computer at work. The OH doctor says it is age related and will not attribute this problem to the fact that I spend most of my working life in front of a computer. I have had physio and acupuncture and they say it is to do with posture. This treatment has not resolved the problem and I have now been referred to the Orthopedic Service. I am fighting this with the help of Unison. Has anyone out there had a similar experience.

Colonoscopy :: Inaccurate Information And How The Sedation Can Make It Worse

I had a colonoscopy with sedation (midazolam and fentanyl) in Chorley Hospital a few days ago and I still feel as if I had a PTSD. I read the information sheet and expected to be relaxed after sedation, with maybe some discomfort. When I was injected with the drugs (midazolam and fentanyl), I suddenly felt very anxious. I tried to seek reassurance, but the physician was talking to somebody else, busy preparing for gastroscopy. I think it could have helped if somebody asked me how I was at that point. I also had some trouble speaking – I think I was able to speak, but I could not hear myself so it made me feel very strange. Later on I read that difficulty speaking is a side-effect of midazolam. I felt quite intense pain during colonoscopy and the kind student nurse was talking me through it. I recovered well, I think, but I remember the whole procedure (so the amnesia that the leaflet talks about obviously doesn’t happen in every case). Next day I was very irritable and anxious and sick later on.

My main grievance is about lack of information beforehand concerning pain and the nasty side effects of the sedation. The leaflet mentions that you might feel ‘discomfort’. Of course you will feel discomfort – you will have a camera up your bum, what are supposed to feel? There is no ‘may’ about it. However, there is a difference between ‘discomfort’ and ‘pain’ and these words should not be used interchangeably. The leaflet and what you are told by the medical staff makes you believe that you will be drowsy and relaxed while medication works, and then back to normal after. I got quite a shock when I had the anxiety attack after the drug was injected and realized how vulnerable and helpless I was. I was also very unpleasantly surprised at how awful I felt the next day. Had I known this could happen I would have opted for entonox. Unless something changes dramatically in the way they perform colonoscopies, there is no way I’m having another one any time soon.

I would not like to discourage those for whom colonoscopy could be beneficial from having it. However traumatic it is, it is preferable to dying from cancer. However, I think that medical staff are not well trained in empathy (only student nurses seem to have it) and you have to be very assertive with them in order to receive honest information. If you are unlucky enough not to experience post-colonoscopy amnesia, the feeling of being at the mercy of medical people who are inflicting pain on you can be disturbing. It might be preferable to experience the pain whilst being alert and able to speak, and thus having some degree of control.

Sinusitis :: Can Neti Bottle/pot Make Things Much Worse?

I know this sounds weird but my chronic sinusitis has me completely bedridden and has been for almost 2 years now and I haven't been able to work etc. anyway, my last CT scan showed massive inflammation and infection on the left side of my head primarily in the maxillary sinus.

It seems since I've been using the Neti bottle every day that I've gotten so much worse and consequentially my fatigue and weakness has been absolutely debilitating. My question is, has anybody ever heard of the Neti bottle or Neti pot making their sinus infection worse?? Thanks for reading.
