Am I Pregnant? :: Ultrasound Scan Showed Follicles?
I had sex on 19 June with my long-term boyfriend; we are both 18. It was our first time and we used a condom. I was not on the pills. Last Thursday, I went to a gynecologist to have a vaginal ultrasound since I have always had irregular periods. The scan showed one big follicle surrounded by multiple smaller follicles so the doctor suspected I could have polycystic ovary syndrome (PCO) . He suggested no treatment was required as I am young. So, about chances of pregnancy: my last period came on 12 June and ended on 17 June; I have not had another one yet. I am aware that chances of conception just after period finishes is low, especially we used condom. Also, I might as well not be ovulating this week due to PCO. However, is there a small chance that I am pregnant? If ultrasound showed that I have a mature follicle and smaller ones, does it mean it is impossible that there is a fertilised egg in the uterus simultaneously? Am I being overly obsessive over safety or should I go for a home pregnancy test? I have talked to my boyfriend but he is at the moment away.

Urgent care doctor examined me about 8 hours after i hit my head did a few test but no cat scan said i had mild concussion. Are the signs immediately or do they take time to come up? I dont really want to pay for a cat scan either i didn't black out I remember everything that happened.
Gallbladder Surgery :: Persistent Mild Dyspepsia, Mild Nausea And Appetite Loss
RECENT HISTORY
First, I am diabetic and have had a fairly normal healthy life except in the last two years where I gained 40 pounds, did not control my blood sugars well, and went off the rails. I have had a lot of issues this year, but to focus on my most recent issues, I had a A1c of 10.5 two month ago and went to 9.1 a month ago finally to 7.6 right before my single incision laparoscopic with robotic-assisted single-incision surgery to remove my infected gallbladder (Hida Scan 11% no gallstones). 6 month ago i started experiencing a lot of bloating, indigestion and took charcocaps that helped a lot after meals.
Two weeks ago I went out for a cup of iced coffee (huge coffee drinker 3-4 cups a day for a long time no problems for years), and something hit me, it felt like a sharp pain and instant feeling of bleh no appetite and sick feeling the rest of the day. This continued for a week before I knew something was wrong, I could not have anything acidic or felt like I could eat anything. I had just seen my doctor for a bike accident a month prior to get a referral to a PT and osteopathic doctor. I had a l3/l4 compressed nerve with a twisted sacral (this is much better now with some minor spasms in my right leg from time to time). With all of that pain (took hydrocodone and muscle relaxants to sleep, sleep was poor) and school, I figured I must have given myself an Ulcer. My doctor game me a ppi-omeprazole (i've never had reflux and didn't then) since I had symptoms of some burning sensations and this chronic dyspepsia so this would treat the possible Ulcer for two weeks while I was sent for an ultrasound to check out my gallbladder (family history - Mom, aunt, and uncle had their's out with gallstones). The ppi sort of helped but I just was fatigued, could not eat anything but a bland diet, I had chronic dyspepsia and general nausea that I could never shake. My daily caloric intake decreased with each new day and food just made me generally feel sick, however if I skipped meals it would still be bad, worse with food.
TEST RESULTS
After the Hida scan came back positive with an ejection rate of 11%, I scheduled my new a1c test, ekg (family history of heart disease), I was cleared and scheduled for surgery. I stopped taking the ppi as I believed this to be the cause of all my problems. btw, I was 254 the end of june and lost 25 pounds by the time of surgery (average daily caloric intake ~900-1200 prior to surgery
POST SURGERY
After the surgery 7/21-one week ago, I had my two days of pain and adjustment, and recovered decently with a soft food and liquid diet. I noticed the general sickness was gone! Hazzah!, except on Saturday I was feeling bloated, cramping, and I could not eat a solid one bite without feeling sick. I knew I was constipated. I stopped the pain meds the day before and I knew I had not eaten too much but it was over a week since i went. I took magnesium citrate and nothing after 7 hours, I drank another 1/2--then BOOM it was insane. I was sooo wiped out and tried to replace lost liquids but I believe I was dehydrated. I was sick that night and stomach was not happy.
Sunday was much better but I was wiped out still and felt generally just depleted of all my energy. I ate, walked a bit and then came back home. That night I started feeling very uncomfortable and the symptoms were somewhat similar to prior to surgery of the general dyspepsia and nausea chronically. I could not sleep because of my back problems (had to sleep upright on my back all week). I woke up in the middle of the night turned to my side and then all of a sudden I felt a warm rush of something just above my stomach and the constant burn in my stomach no reflux. I could not sleep until the morning.
NOW,
I have had really bad gas (low fat diet) for the past few days. I was getting and feeling better on day four but now this!
I felt extreme discomfort all day, felt like a low grade fever 98.6 (no fever) incision site is also slightly red, but the doctor said to call if I had a fever. I was worried about an SSI. The pain was like I threw up (I never have even starting out back in at the coffee shop) and that ache afterwards. The burning sensation let up later in the day after I took some antacids and saltines (I must have some acid issues, but I have read a lot of people suspecting many people may actually have low acid).
The thing is a lot of people have episodes after food, but mine is chronic with mild discomfort, burning sensations, upper abdomen and stomach discomfort (with some nausea), and food helps it initially and then it comes back. I feel week, slight low grade fever even though I don't have one. I keep thinking I have an infection of H. Pylori or something. Food takes a while to do much, I walk after I eat everything. I feel like I could eat but I get so much bloating and indigestion that it is uncomfortable. I drink plenty of water, but I wonder if I am low on essential things for the long ongoing low calorie daily diet. I can't eat more then 800 calories even with smaller meals-since Thursday.
Why was my gall bladder inflamed in the first place? I had no stones, and the surgeon said I had a very long a big gallbladder (ready to rupture!) that was really inflamed including a little on the liver. Pathology reports came back negative. I theorize my rapid change in weight and blood sugar levels inflamed the organ or an infection.
Possibilities:
diabetic Gastroparesis
H. Pylori
Peptic Ulcer (was never officially tested)
Gastritis
Anxiety
Low/High Stomach Acid
Low bile leak?
Sphincter of oddi dysfunction
What I feel could help:
HCL Betaine
Digestive Enzyme (Garden of life chewable vegetarian)
ppi (I would hate to take them unless I had to)
something to coat my stomach if I do have an ulcer to heal
ability to eat more so I can have more assimilated minerals, ect.
Anxiety med (first year i've had a lot of anxiety-mainly school related and upcoming wedding planning for next year
more tests!
My burning anxiety questions:
When will I get my appetite back?
(i really suspected my odds were decently good that I would get better after surgery, I had a great surgeon)
Did anyone have any of these chronic symptoms? Is it due to an infection or some issue with surgery?
Have some people eventually been able to eat what they wanted after a period of time?
How many had these excessive bloating, indigestion, nausea and general malaise through the day, worse a little while after food or between meals?
Mild Soreness Just Below Rib Cage/mild Nausea
I have a VERY mild soreness (if I can even call it that) just below my rib cage towards the right side, but only if I move in a certain way--it doesn't really hurt to the touch. I have no diarrhea, no fever, no back pain, stools are normal color---only a brief pang of nausea now and again, but it's not constant. Also, it doesn't bother when I eat greasy or fatty foods. I find it hard to believe that it's gallbladder related, but not sure whether I should see a doctor or not. It has subsided since the beginning of the week. Anyone else have this and it not turn into anything serious?

Tonight I went to the urgent care clinic because my asthma was really acting up, doctor thought it may be pneumonia, so he had my chest x-rayed. They found that I don't have pneumonia, but they did notice that my heart was enlarged. I now have an appointment with my regular doctor on Tuesday who will probably send me to a cardiologist for tests. I am 28 years old, trying to lose weight, and I am afraid I am going to die young. I can't shake the anxiety off. I am freaked out that doing any slight exercise is going to send me into cardiac arrest. I didn't mention the findings to my husband because I don't want him to be worried if it is nothing. I am just really scared and I don't know what to do or what to expect.

7 years ago i woke with tremendous pain in my neck. Took 5 years and many doctors before first MRI. MRI showed bilateral cervical ribs. Tests were performed which suggested TOS. From 1 specialist to the next, I have now been told to basically go home and live in pain. They won't perform the surgery because they told me 60% of patients are worse off. Hallo - my husband was taken into hospital a few days ago with a ?heart attack - but that (thank God) was not proven. They said it could be angina. But the next day after having been given Amitriptyline he showed the symptoms of a mini stroke and I couldn't understand what he was saying because of slurred speech. The GP (when he was discharged) said it was highly unlikely to be a stroke and he blamed this drug - as did all the hospital doctors.
This is very odd to me and can I ask whether it could be true? He hadn't been on the drug prior to admission, so I don't know why on earth they gave it to him in hospital.

I was told by my GP yesterday that I may have Heart Failure due to the results from my xray showing I have a enlarged heart. She sent me today to have a load of blood tests one being the BNP,NT-pro. I am really scared as my sister died of a heart attack last November without warning. But I am really annoyed has she had the results from the x ray since the 1/4/15 and I only could find out on the 16/4/15..Has anybody found out this way before and what is the prognosis I get everyone is different. I am 53 hadn't had a period for over a year then started bleeding on Monday, went straight to doctors had ultrasound the next day no cysts or fibroids discovered then had call today to go to see GP who informed me I have thickening of the lining of the womb, so have to have more tests, :-( I am so afraid it's cancer especially with the speed the tests etc have been happening, blood tests were ok, doctor said I will have a diagnosis within two weeks, I am absolutely petrified, not coping at all, I do suffer with very bad anxiety too.

I was in the hospital about 4 weeks ago with pancreatitis (I'm not a drinker) and was told it was probably due to my gallbladder. CT scan and ultrasound didn't find any stones or sludge, but my gallbladder wall was thickened. I also have a 9mm enlarged common bile duct. I have had numerous attacks over the couple of years, so my gastro dr. ordered a HIDA scan. Showed a 35 % ejection rate and he doesn't think there's a problem with my gallbladder, but did agree to get me into the surgeon I requested for a second opinion. My mother also had a gallstone that blocked a bile due causing jaundice and had to have her gallbladder removed. He did put me on Creon DR 24000, a pancreatic enzyme today to see if it helps until I see the surgeon.
I have lost over 15 lbs. in the last 4 weeks because I can't eat very much and have no appetite and stay nauseated 90% of the time. I've been on a bland diet during this time as well. I have a constant dull pain under my ribcage that tends to radiate around my back and right shoulder.
I'm very frustrated right now and would appreciate any input from others who might have faced the same diagnosis.

I have been having pain in my upper right abdomen for about 4 months. It can be extremely painful contraction like spasms, lasting from 2 hrs to 10 hrs.
I have had blood tests that have shown liver function issues. I have had an ultrasound that showed a contracted non functioning gall bladder.
I have recently had an MRI scan that was normal according to my GP, I was given this as the consultant felt I may have a blocked duct that was causing the liver function abnormalities?? I am still waiting to see the consultant regarding the scan results.

Disc Prolapse :: Get An MRI Scan, X Rays Not Good
I’m Male 33 years old and now have 2 prolapsed discs.
My first Prolapsed disc started back in March 2006. I started with back pain, which got progressively worse. Pain shooting down the left leg / couldn’t walk properly and my back started to bend over to one side. After going through my GP I got referred to a Neurosurgeon. He sent me for an MRI scan. The disc L5/S1 had gone completely and was compressing my nerve. If I hadn’t had the operation I was one step away from cauda equina syndrome.
After the op everything was fantastic back to work and NO pain.
November 2007 the pain started again and I was sent for an epidural injection. This seemed to work until April this year (lasts about six months) when the pain came back. So back into the MRI scanner I go and I find out that the disc above L4 has pro-lapsed slightly and is just touching the nerve.
So now I’ve got to try an epidural again and if it doesn’t work it’s back under the knife!
At the moment I’m off work walking like I’m 80 years old and completely fed up.
In conclusion
1: If you’re suffering get your doctor to refer you to a Neurosurgeon.
2: Get an MRI scan this shows everything up. X-Rays are no good. You can pay for a scan if you want to speed things up. You can also pay for a consultation with a Neurosurgeon if you have the money.
