Bowel Disorder :: Sphincter Leakage?
Anyone out there have problems w/ the sphincter? Like "leakage"?
View 1 RepliesTemporomandibular Joint :: Involuntary Jaw Movements?
Wondering if anyone else has this same problem? I have unwanted movements of my jaw that are becoming more frequent to the point I'm affected by this problem most of the day. My jaw will move from center to the left side, or other times in a back and forth direction... these forceful jerking movements are extremely fast, occur repetitively and once they start they go on for hours. At other times my mouth will pop open unexpectedly or it will slam shut really fast and hard like a bear trap, my teeth gnash together when my jaw slams shut. My teeth are in decent shape, considering... but I'm starting to worry lately about how much more abuse my teeth can take before they start getting knocked out.
View 7 RepliesToe :: Sustained Involuntary Movements - Dystonia? Seizures?
Just wanted to know if anyone had ever come across this before. Our older son has had constant movement back and forth toward the other toe for over 4 months. Have gone to doctors and no one knows what it is. Also, has had muscle spasms in chest and back and sometimes down to the abdomen on both sides.
Going for MRI next week, but was wondering if anyone had had this before. One doctor thought it was from seizures, but the movement never stops. Is there a type of seizure that never stops? Also, have done some research on dystonia. Does dystonia have movements like this. Also, there is no pain from movement on toe. But, does have pain in chest and back. X-ray came back normal.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy - Anxiety :: Involuntary Movements?
I have recently started cbt therapy following a traumatic death experience. During my therapy session I started to get involuntary movements that i knew were happening but I had no control over...
My therapist didn't say anything about them and I didn't ask just wanted to get out at the end. All she suggested was maybe now is not the right time for exposure therapy and to consider less invasive counselling first.
Movement Disorders :: Tardive Dyskinesia And Involuntary Movements

It's so embarrassing, not to mention socially weird. I feel a real freak and don't know if I can cope with having this for the next however many years.

Cyclizine Reaction - Oculogyric Crisis - Involuntary Facial Movements
I had surgery to remove a kidney stone last month, I was given cyclIzine to take home along with pain meds. After a day of taking the cyclizine tablets all of a sudden I felt really on edge and strange and had gone from being quite sedated from pain meds to breathing unusually. I had involuntary movements in my face and neck. It progressed into difficulties talking, my gp told me to stop taking cyclizine immediately. 2 days later the symptoms were worse so my gp gave me procyclidine to stop the symptoms. The following night they got even worse and apparently it's called oculogyric crisis, felt like I was fitting. Being treated with sedatives now which have really helped, it's a month later now though and I had a series of episodes last night of oculogyric crisis. Has anyone else had similar experiences and how long did your symptoms last?

View 7 RepliesMovement Disorders :: Tremors/involuntary Slow Finger And Hand Movements At Rest
I'm seeing a neurologist next week because of the above symptoms. I'm a 68 year old woman and my GP said it's the way my body is aging! I'm not so much worried (about for example Parkinson's) as intrigued. I know lots of people suffer hand and finger tremors but I am a bit unnerved by my hands and fingers moving very, very slowly on their own. As I stop typing for a moment my right little finger has raised itself from the keyboard as if it were being pulled but very very slowly. My whole hand will slowly curl and even my arms will move on their own if I am "at rest". It's probably something with no explanation but I wonder if anybody else who has been diagnosed with a neurological/muscular condition has experienced this symptom. I do feel as if I am trembling right through my body and my feet will also move independently if I keep still long enough. I don't seem to have any other Parkinson's symptoms.
View 3 RepliesBowel Disorders :: Painful, Odd Bowel Movements
I have had IBS for 20 years, and have been treating it with fiber therapy pretty successfully. In the last few months, i've had some odd bowel movements. the first one i noticed was long and thin and tough, like an elastic. i thought tapeworm, but my stool tested negative for worms. i can't explain it, but after wiping and checking it flings itself off the toilet paper a fair distance. I'm afraid to ask my doctor because he scoffed at me when i told him that i thought i had worms. i had a colonoscopy for my 50th birthday in august and everything checked out. Any idea as to what's happening?
View 1 RepliesBowel Disorder :: It Hurts To Poo
Since tuesday I woke up and it hurt when I went to the toilet and I managed to go but I think its made it really really sore and I've felt like I really need to go since then but it just hurts too much everytime I try to push. Please don't say to eat fibre because that's not what the problem is, I think it was caused by stress, but now its so sore I don't know what to do it hasn't even felt better over two nights.
please help, should I still eat? I feel like I don't want to eat incase it just builds up, I don't know what to do I'm uncomfortable because I want to go but it hurts to much when I try.
Frequent Bowel Movements
I am not constipated as stools are soft and formed but my problem is incomplete bowel movements. I can go at eight o'clock in the morning and then get an urgent desire about one hour later and then again and all this before lunchtime. It causes difficulties for me with keeping appointments and my bowels rarely feel empty for very long.
I am wondering if adhesions could be the cause of this phenomena as I have had four lower abdominal operations over a period of years.
How Many Bowel Movements Per Day Is Normal?
I have heard anywhere from 3 times a day, to 3 times per week is normal. What is it? I usually have 1 movement right when I wake up in the morning, especially if I snack later in the evening. And I always have a movement while or after I drink my morning coffee. So I have two BM's in the morning close together usually. But I do not go again during the day, unless I eat a huge lunch or dinner, and then it is a very small movement. I am 46 years old now, and have yet to schedule my first colonoscopy. So are my bowel movements normal for a man of my age?
View 2 RepliesIrregular Bowel Movements
Okay so I think I've been putting this off for long enough trying to ignore it. So here's the thing -- I never poop. It might be once every 4 days. But even then it's odd occurrence. I say odd for a couple reasons. First of all, I'm into bodybuilding but I'm not an ignorant meathead. Some quick info I'm about 180 pounds not much over 10% body fat at the moment, I'm a nutrition major, so I eat very healthy. No fast food, no sodas, my carb sources are for the most part complex ones, I.e. Vegetables and fruit. So I get plenty of fiber (at least 25-30 grams a day). I also drink a lot of water, 1 1/2 - 2 gallons a day (roughly a liter per hour during my work hours), and I also take a probiotic supplement to help gut flora. So back to why it's odd when I do poop: because even then I feel like I need to but I feel like I'm forcing it when I do. It can also be very gut-wrenching at times. I know common sense tells me I'm obviously very constipated. But I've looked all over the Internet trying to find answers and all I see is... Take more fiber and drink more water. I'd like to think I consume much more water and fiber than the typical American so I'm at a loss. Just wondering if anyone has any answers before I schedule an appointment with a gastroenterologist.

Bowel Disorder :: Is It Normal To Have Hemorrhoids ?
I'm 19 years old and is it normal to have Hemorrhoids ? ? I noticed a lump at the anal verge like an year ago . So does everyone has it ?
Or does normally hemorrhoidal cannot be seen since they must first swell and become inflamed or develop a clot to cause problems ?
So at first i thought it was normal to have this lump since it didn't cause any problems . Therefore i didn't bother about it . Even now i don't have any problem with it. It doesn't pain or bleed . Although it does itch sometimes. But irritation goes away soon. I'm really worried about it.
Bowel Disorder :: Bright Red Blood With BM
I'm new here but from what I've read I'm probably far from the first person to post about this. I'm just looking for other peoples advice/experience to help calm my nerves.
About me, I am male and 25 yo average weight/height.
For the past few months I've been having some bowel problems. Starting around October last year I began having on and off issues with some slight indigestion and small amounts of bright red blood when I had a BM. These issues would come and go. I had a small issue similar to this in 2014 and had a colonoscopy performed to check. The test didn't find anything out of the ordinary. In November of last year I had a Flexible Sigmoidoscopy performed due to the recent issues. This test came back saying that I had internal hemorrhoids but nothing else. I didn't do much to treat them and just sort of hoped they'd go away.
The mild issues continued until about late January/early February when I was hit with a week long bout of indigestion, excess gas etc. As these issues continued the bleeding ramped up until I was seeing bright red blood staining the toilet bowel each time I had a BM. It didn't seem like an immense amount of blood but it was enough to tint the water and toilet paper red. Due to these issues I went back to GI doctor around the second week of February. He did an examination with his hand and noted that I had internal hemmies and slight inflammation. He pointed this out as the most likely cause of the bleeding given the results of my previous tests. He recommended I start taking Konsyl fiber supplement and Preparation H suppositories.
After starting with the suppositories the indigestion and excess gas went away as well as the excess blood. My usual BM schedule resumed (1/day). Since then however I still see small streaks of what looks like bright red blood with each BM. Some days are not as bad as others but it seems like there is always a small amount of blood there. I've also had an intense itching sensation down there that would come and go every once in a while. Like I said before for the last 2 months I've been going at the same rate and the stool consistency is normal. I don't seem to have any excessive pain or weight loss.
My main question is for anyone who has had hemorrhoids. Can bleeding last this long? One thing I've noticed is that I seem to have fairly large/hard stools which I think may be causing trouble. I wouldn't call it constipation exactly just that the stools are large/dry and often require some light straining to expel. I also work a desk job and have a 2 hour daily driving commute. I've recently bought a seat cushion for my chair and car with hopes that it will help.
I'm sorry for the wall of text. I want to get past this but I am an extremely anxious person and this bleed issue is ruining me. I'm scheduled for a follow up with my GI in 2 weeks and am getting the sinking feeling that I'm in for another colonoscopy.
P.S. I've also had an abdomen CT scan in early 2015 due to a separate issue. No problems were found.
Multiple Bowel Movements - Every 2 Hours
I've been experiencing a ton of crazy symptoms lately and I was hoping someone out there could help advise me while I await my colonoscopy date next thursday. So here it goes...
For years I've always had multiple bowel movements a day - I have always had a high fiber diet - eaten a TON of spice (like ghost chili status) - and have indulged in too many beers on too many occasions. I usually had a bowel movement within an hour or two of waking up - then another 1 or 2 movements throughout the day. Pretty healthy and normal right?
I noticed over the last few months that at night before bed I was SUPER gassy - and in the morning I was noticing my bm was becoming more urgent - I attributed it again to my diet and the 2 cups of black coffee I would drink on my way into work.
Anyways - last month I was diagnosed with early testicular cancer - very early - I had it removed and multiple doctors told me that it was all gone - had a clean lung x ray and a clean ct scan---- what the ct DID show was some possible thickening of my bowel wall. From the time of the discovery of the lump on my testicle - I have had a gurgling stomach bouts of discomfort underneath my ribs - close to my chest - and frequent BM's - like 5-6 a day. The early morning ones are pretty solid and as the day progresses they become looser.
At points I have had no appetite - my weight hasn't dropped dramatically - shifted a few pounds up and down but between 252 and 259 most days.
I had 2 weeks of cipro and flagyl antibiotics and had a bunch of blood tests due to the original t cancer diagnosis. all my blood work was spot on (no signs of anemia). The antibiotics did not help my problems....
over the past week I have noticed that my upper back between the shoulder blades has had a nagging dull ache - as if muscle is tight....
I did see my GP and a GI doctor who told me he was 80% convinced it was IBS - but I have never heard of IBS dramatically becoming this bad. Furthermore - the fact that I had one form of cancer makes me afraid that now I have colon cancer as well that has been brewing in my system for years and is now hitting its final stage - I am 27 years old my wife is 4 months pregnant and I am deathly afraid that I wont be there to hold her and our newborn baby in may.... I cant sleep - I cant think - I cant focus - I can barely get off the couch and its killing my effectiveness at work - I am a teacher in my first year....
Has anyone had similar issues to these? I feel that I am doomed for a colorectal cancer diagnosis next thursday and I cant take it anymore...
Unusual Urge - Bowel Movements
Well, i have been taking PPI for last 1 year or more, and been having a constant battle with my BM, some days its fine,. some days its not.
Of late, around 30 days back i was super constipated, i had to strain so hard, i started developing chest pains. Lack of appetite, and intake of food is very scanty.
So to overcome constipation i started taking laxative (Himalaya Herbolax) , All well for few days. but things started getting weird , first movement as soon as i wake up is normal, then after an hour i have my cup of tea and breakfast, then urge to move again. I go in , little watery stools.
After 45 mins urge again, watery again. And i have to strain to move the watery stools too.
