Birth Control :: FromCombined (Gederal) Pill To The Mini (Cerelle) Pill?
I have been on the combined pill (Gederal) for a couple of years now but my doctor wants to change me to the Mini Pill (Cerelle). My Combined pill is perfect so i don't want to change. I mentioned that i had one migraine with visual disturbance and she explained to me that even one of these migraines is a reason to come off the combined pill. The combined Pill regulated my periods but she explained that this mini pill is now going to make me irregular.

View 1 RepliesBirth Control :: Ovulation And Birth Control Pill, Still New To Taking Pill
I consider myself to still be new to taking the pill as a form of birth control. Just when I think I have it figured out, something new would happen which would make me doubt it's effectiveness.
I am currently using Chateal, which contains 21 active pills and 7 placebo pills. After 6 months of taking it as directed, I assume my body should be used to the side effects. I would get nausea from taking it so I switched to taking it at night. I have been taking it that way for 3 months now.
But I have noticed since first started taking it, I would get severe cramps and backaches during the second week of the pack for a few days. I assumed I was ovulating while on the pill because I noticed my cervical mucus changes throughout the month. My understanding though is the pill is to prevent ovulation thus preventing pregnancy.
Can you ovulate while on the pill? Is my birth control pill type too low of a dose for me? Could it be something else?
Birth Control :: Taking The Pill - Non Stop Bleeding For 16 Days
I had my implanon removed the beginning of October and immediately started taking the pill. I have now been non stop bleeding for 16 days. Should this be happening even while taking the pill? I would think the bleeding would be stopping or at least slowing down at this point, but it's not!
View 1 RepliesAsthma :: Fast Heart Rate
I am 24 years old, 82kg and been stressing about my health for the past month.
I first experienced a very fast heart rate from a short 2 min jog up the road were i had to stop and wait for my heart rate to slow down.
now since then my stamina has gradually gone right down to the point were I am unable to go up two flights of stairs without my heart racing and feeling out of breath. bearing in mind at rest I only experience a tight chest no shortness of breath.
To rule out heart problems I recently had a Echo-cardiogram,ECG,holter test and a chest x-ray. I was told all my valves were fine, my arteries were not blocked and my ecg came back abnormal but it was not serious. (all these tests were done in the past 3 weeks)
Now as I had my consultation with an expert they noticed I was wheezing and I explained to her every single day my chest feels sore and tight. even now as i type laying on my bed. I was diagnosed with asthma when I was a child but I seemed to grow out of it, however back in 2006 I had similar feeling to what I have experiencing now which is tight chest pains, shortness of breath. but I cant remember my heart jumping really high from exertion of walking up the stairs.
so now I am going to visit my asthma clinic on thursday to see what they say, suggest etc.
So my question is could these symptoms of tight chest and short breath be linked to my fast heart rate?

View 1 RepliesCardiac Arrhythmias :: Palpitations And Fast Heart Rate On Exertion
I have some strange feelings and etc for around 6 months. I don't have any panic attacks or anxiety from long time ago, but something is wrong with me. For example in morning I stand up from bed and my heart rate goes to around 130 or when i climb up stairs ( around 20 of them) i get heart rate around 170 per min. That's not normal I know, but I have had heart ECG, heart ULTRASOUND,blood tests and etc and everything is fine. But on left side of chest I have pressure, feels like some organ is swollen or I don't know, maybe lung is pressed or something. I had also lungs x-ray but it came out fine. When heart is beating fast, i feel pain in my upper chest like in my airways, and when my heart calms down i have sore upper chest. 1 month ago i got maybe palpitations but not sure if it's palpitations, happens most when im standing. I get fast squeeze in left chest like my left lung is squeezed, but in this second my heart stops beating and then starts after 1sec beat fast and again slowly. I really dont know what to do, because im sure i dont have anxiety or panic. I was on xanax, citalopram, lexotanil for long time and nothing helped me for that. P.S My left leg is always cold, mostly when im laying down. Sometimes i get vibrating sound in my left chest and i don't know what is this. Mostly im scared if its my heart or what... Doctors said im okay, but i still feel not normal and without full access to live my life.. I had also brain scans, neck x ray and all is fine. All tests I had everything is normal. What do you think I should check? Please don't write about psychology problems, because its not this and im sure its not in my head.
View 7 RepliesAdrenal Disorders :: Low Blood Pressure With High Cortisol And Fast Heart Rate
I had my AM cortisol tested and it came out high. I did the blood test while fasting about 1 hour after I woke up.
My AM cortisol: 33.7 (normal range 6.2-19.4)
Could the high cortisol be the cause of my symptoms:fast heart rate (gets worse with exertion), sweating, and 15 pound weight loss, trouble sleeping?
I was researching it online and my symptoms seem to fit more with those with low cortisol than high cortisol. I've been to 5 doctors and went to the ER once because I've been feeling so terrible the past 4 months. My AM cortisol is the first thing to come out abnormal. All thyroid, liver, etc. tests come out perfectly within the normal range.

View 1 RepliesBirth Control :: Is The Cerazette Really Worth It?
Just want to inform people of my experience taking the Cerazette pill.
I had happily been taking the Microgynon for a few years when I forgot to get my prescription one month and ended up not going back on it. I went to the doctor as I felt so much better for coming off the Microgynon, I had lost weight and just felt happier within myself.
I saw the doctor and spoke about all my options, I am dead set against the implant and the injection, I thought I'd prefer to go on a pill again.. I was prescribed the Cerazette and thought nothing more about it.
I went to see the doctor about an on-going knee complaint, a few days prior to my appointment I noticed I had a lump to my left shin, I showed the nurse the lump, she reassured me it was nothing and it would go away. I wasn't 100% convinced.
Around two weeks later, my knee still being sore, the lump had only got bigger and I now had a swollen ankle, I went back to see a doctor, I saw a locum doctor who was concerned about the lump on my leg and queried "?osteosarcoma". I asked the doctor at the time if my swollen ankle could have been caused by the pill but she said no, it would be "lateral". The next day I went for an urgent x ray on my shin, the lump was painful. I waited four days for my results and went back to the doctor, this time I saw a different Locum doctor- My results showed no signs of a sarcoma, that day I was sent for blood tests and an urgent ultrasound was requested.. In the meantime, I found a second lump on my other leg, just under my knee, it was also painful. Five days later, my blood results came back and I was hopeful to get answers about my ankle. Blood tests were fine, not even my inflammatory pointers were up, the doctor was pleased but also confused as to what it could be. I was told I would referred to a specialist consultant and I was still awaiting an appointment for my "urgent" ultrasound.. Three weeks later and I have only just had said ultrasound. The radiographer said he was confident that I do not have cancer, which is brilliant news. I may still be referred to a specialist as they are still unsure as to what is wrong with my ankle, however, my mum has been doing lots of research and considering I am only 21 and on no other current medication other than the Cerazette, we could not think of anything else that may be causing these problems. On Thursday, I took it upon myself to stop taking the Cerazette, it is now Tuesday and my ankle has gone down considerably, the lumps on my legs have also reduced.
It has really made me think, putting all these hormones in our bodies is not good ladies and you really should be careful with what you are taking. I know plenty of girls that take these pills and have no problems what so ever, but there are plenty of other girls, like myself, that have had bad experiences with them and it is really really scary.
Birth Control :: Effectiveness Rate ?
My girlfriend is on the pill, has been for years now, and never misses one. We had sex without a condom last sunday about... 3 A.M., I didn't eyaulated inside her, and that I am aware of she took her pill just a couple hours late. She says the one she had to took that day was some sort of wildcard, amongst the 21 she has to take, ones that only serve as to not break the routine.
Its her second week, and she says if she misses one she can take it later even if that means taking two, according to the instructions on her pills, I guess.
Birth Control :: Cerazette - Spotting (no Longer Than 3-4 Days).
I've been on cerazette for almost 2 years. During that time I've pretty much had no periods but every now and then a little bit of spotting (no longer than 3-4 days).
Since December I have been spotting pretty much every day, every other day. I haven't changed anything about my routine.
I was wondering if this had happened to anyone else?
I spoke to my sexual health clinic and they said that I had no STIs and my cervix was fine so they didn't know why I all of a sudden have a problem. They said I can change my birth control but I was happy on cerazette until last month and not keen to use the coil or injection which are my only other options.
Birth Control :: 2 Months After Stopping Cerazette? Brown Discharge
I was previously on the Cerazette pill in November, I took it for approx 6 weeks- However it wasn't for me. So I stopped on the 18th of December, and my period began straight away (Up until then it was pretty much just 6 weeks of solid bleeding! Barely any pain) I then got one again around the 25th of January. However the past 2ish weeks I have been having brown discharge and the past few days it has been BLACK with a little back pain and traces of fresh blood as well. I do have a partner and we had unprotected sex however he did not finish (I know, not a smart move) but the bleeding started a day later.

View 1 RepliesHair Loss :: Birth Control Pill
I'm a 23 year old female with pcos. About 5 months ago I started taking bcp to help regulate my period. I was prescribed level. It worked great until about 3 months when I noticed that my hair started shedding like crazy. I went to my doctor who switched me onto zoely, which is supposed to contain a natural estrogen.she said to go back in 2.5 months and if my hair loss hasn't stopped by then we can discuss other options. I've been on zoely for one month so far and if anything my hair loss has increased. Does anyone have any experience with switching bcp and how long it takes for the hair loss to stop? My hair has thinned quite a bit and I'm scared that continuing taking the pill could make it worse. But also stopping the pill I know can trigger another bout of hair loss too.
View 2 RepliesBirth Control :: 50 , No Periods 4 Years - Still Take Pill?
I had hormones tested and I am in menopause. I have not had a period in 4 years. Only been off the pill for a month after being on it for a long time. I am told I should still use condoms for birth control, which myself and hubby don't like at all. Chances of getting pregnant may not be likely but can happen. I really prefer to use nothing, but I don't want to end up with a pregnancy at this age. Anyone in their 40's and 50's have gone through this? What was your choice of birth control when the doctor takes you off the pill? Should I not worry about it and use zero protection? Do you think my doctor is being ridiculous?
