Asthma :: Wheezing Gone But Now Trouble Breathing?
So, I had bad wheezing after a cold from last winter. A regular doc prescribed me Symbicort. I had been taken it regularly, but recently my wheezing went away, so I stopped taking the Symbicort just to see what would happen with my wheezing.
The wheezing has gradually died down, but now I have trouble breathing at certain times during the day especially at night around 8 o'clock and on. I can't tell if the wheezing going away is a good thing or a bad thing. Also, sometimes, I also feel a murmuring sensation in my upper chest when inhaling.
The biggest thing is when I inhale I don't feel like I'm getting enough air. I want to go to a pulmonologist, but it looks like it might be a while before I'll get in. I have a few doses left of my Symbicort and want to save them.
I'm uncomfortable going to sleep and I'm also nervous about things like the "silent chest" since my wheezing has really died down. It's also really humid where I am right now, so I don't know if that's factoring into my trouble breathing. Lastly, I also have had panic attacks in the past, so I'm always hesitant to go to the doctor over things like feeling like I'm not getting enough air.
How can I tell the difference between a panic attack and asthma?
Do you think it's asthma? Why does it seem to happen from 8 o'clock at night and up? What can I do so I can sleep?
Asthma :: Heart Speed Up When You're Having Trouble Breathing?
When I have restriction in my breathing it seems to directly effect my heart right away. My heart beat will speed up really fast and be pounding very hard while I feel like I'm breathing through a straw. And when I'm around cigarette smoke I have heart palpitations.
Some times, just the act of standing up will cause my heart to start pounding. Often I notice my pounding heart first before I even realize that my lungs are restricted.
It's like the two go hand in hand. So I think the restriction in my lungs, which can get triggered by physically exerting myself or even standing up, is causing my heart to speed up.
But, the weird thing is, I have asked other people with asthma if their heart beat does that when they are having trouble breathing and they said no. So, I'm wondering why mine does then.

View 4 RepliesTrouble Breathing :: No Coughing And Wheezing
The other day, I checked myself into the hospital because I was having difficulties breathing and a slight chest pain. The doctors ran a plethora of tests, including an EKG, MRI, and X-Rays. All of the tests, according to the doctor, came back "100% normal". The ER staff said there were no signs of anything serious and it should pass. Perhaps it's a muscle being weird or something?
The chest pain is mostly gone but breathing is still a challenge. It's difficult to take a FULL breath. No coughing. No wheezing. Anybody ever experienced this? The other day I went to the grocery store and I was winded afterwards. It does not seem right.
I'm going to see the doctor for a follow up on Monday, and I'm monitoring the situation closely. Are there breathing tests they can have me do? It seems like cardiac-wise everything is fine, but something is still up. I know to go to the ER if it gets too bad, but I'm curious if anybody has seen / heard / experienced something like this.

View 5 RepliesTrouble Breathing At Work Place
For about 4 months now, I've been having trouble breathing at work. it started out as 15 minutes to a maximum 1hour. I'm thinking it came around the same time the air conditioning came on at work. Now it can start before my lunch(noon) and go on till I'm home(5:20pm). Which gives me 20 minutes of not being at the office and I can now breath normal that I'm out of the office.
View 1 RepliesTrouble Breathing Deeply - Not Enough Air Going Into My Lungs
For the last few days its very difficult for me to take a deep breath, or to feel like I have enough air going into my lungs. I'll try to breathe deep and it's like I just can't reach that point. I feel like I'm breathing fine but I could be taking in more air. When I'm laying in bed I can take breaths better if I'm sitting up. It's really aggravating and hard not to notice. It's been staying this way since yesterday and today, other times it was just an off and on type of thing. Another thing I noticed was if I gently press on my chest I feel a slight pain, maybe like pressure, or sensitivity. I don't know what to do about this, and it's really scaring me. I can't imagine having something wrong with me.
View 4 RepliesHealth Anxiety And Breathing Trouble
I'm 19 years old, female. I think I have anxiety.. Mostly about my health. I'm always freakish out thinking I have cancer or something serious, I make myself think I have something wrong with me.. A few months ago I was sick and I could have gotten better sooner if I didn't worry so much, it took me a month to get better because I kept telling myself I was too sick and I wasn't getting better but once I stopped thinking about it, I got better. Also with my tonsils I always think they're gonna be swollen so they are when I think that. But my worst issue is breathing.. I always feel like I have trouble breathing even when I'm not having an anxiety attack just randomly I'll feel like I'm breathing shallowly or just not getting enough air and when I REALLY think about it I start hyperventilating and almost pass out until I call someone and they tell me to calm down. When I have anxiety attacks I get all shaky, I get dizzy, pale, feel like I'm going to pass out and have really shallow breaths.. Idk what's wrong with me I think it's from my past or because I'm always so stressed out about my family. I also I have a problem going to the bathroom.. Tmi sorry but I can't poop anymore I'm always constipated and it always comes out in balls or logs but lumpy, I really don't know what's wrong with me so if someone could help that'd be amazing. Also, when I was at the ER months ago they checked my lungs and everything and said everything's fine, just said I have low potassium, idek why but when I was sick I didn't eat for a week so maybe that's why?

View 1 RepliesOrgasm :: Trouble Breathing After Ejaculation
I can't get a full deep breath after ejaculation and become winded very quickly during exercise thereon after. It generally takes two or three days to recover. I am otherwise in very good shape (23 yr old male) and normally experience no problems during/after intense exercise. It's gotten to the point where I avoid ejaculating during sex because of how much it messes up my breathing during future exercise. Is this normal? If not, any idea what's up?
View 5 RepliesTrouble Breathing? Altitude Or Anxiety?
A little less than a month ago now I moved from Florida to high in the Rocky Mountains. I didn't have any unusual trouble with the altitude change at first but about 5 days ago I've suddenly had a lot of trouble with my breathing. I feel like I'm not getting enough air into my lungs, especially when lying down (which makes trying to go to sleep a huge pain). I was actually just trying to sleep a few minutes ago but I couldn't stand it. It felt like I was being suffocated very, very slowly. Even now, typing this while sitting up straight, I still feel a little dizzy. Besides a slight cold there's nothing else wrong with me right now. I've actually always had very good health, and the only other time I've ever had any trouble at all with my lungs was when I got pneumonia when I was 13.
Besides the altitude, the only other thing I can think of is that I was prone to anxiety attacks in high school, and I have been pretty stressed lately, but besides the shortness of breath this just doesn't feel the same.
Does anyone have any ideas what this could be? I really need to get over this quickly because I need my sleep! My new job is physically demanding enough without being tired all the time
Chiari Malformation :: Breathing Trouble
Over the years I have been having issues breathing as well as chest pains and a host of other symptoms. I was diagnosed with another condition however recently doctor's at discovered that I indeed have Chiari Malformation 1 and not what I was previously diagnosed with. The past two days my breathing have been terrible, I feel as though I am struggling to breathing, which makes me light headed. I also find that I have to take deep breath in-between speaking. I also have been having mental lapse as well. Is this normal with Chiari?

View 8 RepliesTrouble Breathing - Not Enough Oxygen For Brain - Lightheaded
I'm 21, male, has asthma as an infant, grew out of it but I remained with a lot of allergies and have been on allergies medication more years than not.
My mom suffers from cyclothymia and told me that it may be a precursor to that and that my breathing could be attributed to anxiety even though I'm not worried about anything, that would explain why I feel better after some exercise, although it's getting harder to start each time, light headed and all of that.
Also very rarely I manage to take a deep breath with just my nose. But even when that happens I don't feel good. Like my brain lacks oxygen (get a little light headed when taking deep breaths, and it lasts for about a second.)
I'm planning on going to the doctor but mine is on vacation so I'd have to wait until tuesday and was hoping any of you could give me some tips aas to what I'm having. I got a little nervous because my mother's cousin got diagnosed with lung cancer recently after having a cough that didn't got away. (No history of cancer in my close family though, just my grandfather but he got it at 87.
Also sometimes I had a dull pain in my chest, but I attributed it to bad breathing habits. Also I have seen a lot of breathing exercises and do them frequently so I don't think it's bad breathing technique right now (I thought it was at first and actually improved a lot when I started doing those exercises but this problem still doesn't go away.
TL;DR Starting may started having trouble breathing through my nose, sometimes I have to breathe from my mouth in order to get the necessary oxygen. I'm taking antihistamines, and flushing saline solution up my nose several times a day and it has not worked (Like two days ago my nose got clear for some minutes and was able to experience what it was like to breath again.

Stress / Anxiety :: Trouble Breathing Lying Down At Night
So basically whenever I try to go to sleep at night I become focused on my breathing, I have the urge to take long deep breaths, because if I don't it feels like my breathing comes to a halt as if I stopped breathing. As opposed to normally when I stand up I don't have to take long breaths, or even be aware of my breathing.
Sometimes I don't have to focus on my breathing at night, especially if I'm distracted or watching tv when laying down. But if I take a deep breath I suddenly become more aware of my breathing patterns and fall into that urge to keep taking long breaths, otherwise it feels as if I'm not breathing at all. Any idea what this is? I googled trouble breathing lying down and got a few results, some saying it might be anxiety. Truth be told, I don't consider it anxiety except for the fact I have this urge to strain myself to take long breaths when laying down.
