Few day ago till now I feel very tired and difficult breathing. I feel short breath and chest congestion. I also feel numbness all over my body and dizzy. I also feel very dry mouth and dry throat. I cannot sleep every night for full night. I had lung x-Ray last months but result was fine. I had severe stress due to some mental health last month but now I feel relieve but I don't know why I had all symptoms I mentioned above.

Asthma :: Shortness Of Breath Feels Like 60%-70% Of A Breath

Went to ER last night because of shortness of breath that started the day before, with neck and back pain. I could/can seem to breath normally but then I feel like I need a deep breath and I can only get what feels like 60%-70% of a breath. Every 2 minutes or so I can get a "full" breath. EKG, blood test, X-ray, d dimer all came back normal last night and I was discharged. Nebulizer treatment had no affect. Vitals were okay over 4 hours with the exception of my oximeter level dropping below 90 a few times (as low as 86). It recovered within 30 seconds each time.

I am 28/male and have a history of mild asthma, non-smoker. I also have 2 herniated discs (l4/l5 & l5/s1, and l3/l4 bulging, with chronic back spasms). Albuterol inhaler, allergy medication shows no improvement.

I have purchased a pulse oximeter and tonight my oximeter level (not pulse) has fallen below 90 (4 times), but each time recovering to 92+ withing 30 seconds.

LPR: 19 Years Old Short Of Breath

I'm a 19 yr old female. So after some google searches i finally found out what I have, LPR. I was a tightlacer, i used to eat a lot of black pepper on food everyday, and drink yerba mate with lemon juice everyday, and lots of fruits, as most fruits are acidic it has certainly helped with the development of my LPR. I thought i just had allergies issues due to excess mucous, cough, sinus pressure and feeling weak. And a strange burning throat while or after eating with difficult swallowing, that time id get short of breath sometimes but it wasn't common at all, and heartburn i think i had about 5 or 6 episodes in months/years , not a complain at all, is very rare. While i didn't know what i had and kept tightening my conical corset, eating right before going to sleep with the corset on, always laying after eating because i was feeling unwell, then i developed harsher symptoms: more constant sinus pressures, throat pain, lump feeling while trying to swallow, shortness of breath, dizziness, phlegmy throat, non productive cough, one congested nostril, etc. i searched about it and found out about LPR, did all the diet changes needed, no more caffeine from yerba mate, no more peppers/chili/cinnamon/dairy/artificial sweetener full of acid preservatives, no more eating close to bedtime, no more most fruits only banana and persimmon which i don't know its ph but i don't want to stop it because it sweetens my acai bowl with frozen banana and frozen acai blocks. I've been to a ENT here but they don't even know much about LPR in the US, let alone in Brazil. She prescribed me 40 mg prilosec 30 min before breakfast everyday . I started it on April 1st and i know it will take months to see a improvement. And i really don't like taking meds, one side effect of this PPI is a fat liver and i've been eating clean 4 years straight, i never drank, never smoke, dont eat added sugars, wheat, vegetable oil, processed foods, i only eat home cooked whole meals i really don't want to rely on this PPI for a long time, i want the surgery which she told me never would prescribe me it... Ive had some improvements since diet changes, my sore throat is gone, burning throat not as common as it was before, post nasal drip gone too just not phlegmy throat , voice loss was gone, lump feeling in throat was gone too. But i still have bad symptoms that are making my life miserable, my shortness of breath now is more constant and happens several times everyday, its worse when i stand up and i get a bit dizzy too and my vision darkens too for few seconds, i always have this mucous in my throat, throat burning while eating, its hard to swallow, not that i feel the lump i just feel my throat is tighter now, and sinus pressure. I could really live with those throat symptoms, but this shortness of breath is driving me crazy and making me miserable, its horrible, i know its due to LPR and maybe a hernia i dont know, but as i used a conical corset for 2 years very constantly and very tight on my rib area i think it maybe must have done something to my lower lungs, besides making my diaphragm breathing difficult and squeezing my stomach. I have difficult breathing IN , no wheezing sounds at all.

Heart :: At Night Vibrating, Short Of Breath, Aching

For a couple of years now I've been having weird behaviour, episodes, happening with my heart. I've had a heart murmur since I was a teenager, caused by hyperthyroidism that went undiagnosed for too long, so heart issues for me aren't new, but this is different. They seem to happen primarily at night, I wake up feeling short of breath, my heart feels like it's vibrating more than beating, my chest and limbs ache, especially my arms, but it's not a stabbing pain, just feels like really tense muscles. It leaves me feeling the next day like I have a cat sitting on my chest and very tired, and often within a couple of days I notice splinter haemorrhages on my nails, up to 6. I've had numerous tests, ecgs, an echo, week long ecg, stress test, thyroid test, iron test, MRI. Nothing has come back conclusive, I've been told it's just a heart murmur, that it's probably just anxiety (then why is it hitting me when I'm sleeping? and since when does stress cause splinter haemorrhages?), that splinter haemorrhages are nothing are not proof of anything. A bit of background, I'm almost 40, it's been happening for 2 years, 6 months after I got a copper coil, 3.5 years after I gave birth, I've had hypothyroidism for 5 years, but had hyperthyroidism up to 3 years before that, I have a strong family history of heart disease on father's side, (but I don't have the high blood pressure they did, I do have high cholesterol though, but not severely) and low iron on my mother's (I've been taking supplements since a test many years ago found me low on this). This seems to happen when I have my period, but not with every period, and does pass, but eating a poor diet and little exercise also seem to effect it. Anyone have any ideas? Mine have been: low iron, thyroid storms, Prinzmetals angina, cholesterol floating around my body, a blood clot condition causing small clots to float around my blood periodically affecting my heart, lupus, or, my body reacting badly to the copper coil

Pleurisy? Short Of Breath, Bad Coughing And Chest Pain

History. About 3 months ago I started coughing really bad. Mostly getting out in the cold and talking or laughing triggered it. After 2 visits to the doctor, was told I had adult onset asthma. Went on albuterol inhaler. Within a few days, was coughing green (sorry to be gross, but you get the picture now!) and was very congested. Went back. Now I had asthma, ear infections, sinus infections, bronchitis. Antibiotic, decongestant and antihistamine were prescribed. Next the breathing symptoms got much worse. Short of breath a lot. Went back. Now I received a nebulizer, a new antibiotic and steroid for the severe asthma. Breathing got worse. Now chest x-rays and new antibiotic and new steroid.

Fast forward 3 months. Coughing is better. I'm not on an medications now. But I have this very sharp pain in the left side of my chest, just beneath the breast. While it doesn't hurt to breath, it is VERY painful to cough and sneeze. Turning a certain way or lifting something feels deadly. Also, I cannot lie down flat. Somehow lying down makes this pain so much worse.

Asthma :: Daily Shortness Of Breath At Rest

For two years I have been battling daily shortness of breath at rest.  Every month or so I have a bad bout with struggling to breath that lasts a few days to about a week.  I finally got a diagnoses of Bronchial Ashma.  I was never able to tolerate steroid inhalers.  I have now been put on Spiriva.  I have read that it doesn't usually work with ashma.  Is it normal to have shortness of breath daily with asthma.  I quit smoking when this all started two years ago and have not touched a cigarette since.  I was hoping to feel better.  I have never had such breathing problems as I have these last two years.  I am trying to feel confident that I was given the right diagnosis.  It is very depressing to feel I have to live this way for the rest of my life when I am only 46 years old.

Asthma :: I've Quit Smoking

Well I'm 21, coming 22.

Quit smoking after doing it for 6 years and 2 months!

Last cigarette 52 hours ago and I'm NOT going back!! I've been using the eCig - they're brilliant.

But I'm so worried - could my asthma have progressed into COPD?! Sometimes when walking vigorously, I get tight chested, but it goes away by itself.. I think I've always had that?

My lung capacity hasn't changed (yes, I actually measured it all those years ago when I started).

Reading about COPD is what made me give up.  Basically, is smoking for 6 years long enough to change my asthma into COPD?

* Smoked 10-15 a day for first 2-3 years, then 20 a day the past 3 years roughly

* Used reliever inhaler 2x per day during that time

* Since stopping smoking, I've only used my reliever in the morning

* Have a very dry cough with tiny amounts of phlegm - when smoking had more phlegm!

Asthma :: Spirometry And Smoking

I'm having some problems with my allergies, and was sent to spirometry to check if something was wrong with my lungs as well. The results were suggesting I had mild asthma, however I smoke from time to time, and I haven't told the doctor about it because my parents were there. To be precise, I smoke one cigarette every other day. In comparison to other people, I know it is not much, however, is it possible that this small amount could have triggered the heightened concentration of carbon monoxide in my lungs which indicates asthma ? Thank you.

Chronic Fatigue? Short Of Breath, Fatigue, Muscle Weakness And Low Energy

This adventure started about 9 months ago. Instead of my normal routine of get up, eat, hygiene, off to work (I was a remodeling contractor), I started falling back to sleep after breakfast. I must pretext this by saying that I take 40 mg of Adderall in the am and the afternoon. First it was 1/2 hour and eventually 3 hours. Then it was an afternoon nap also, Then an evening nap. This was not every day but most days. About eight or so weeks ago, I developed a blood clot behind my left knee and several in my lungs (as a result of being on my knees for long periods of time installing floor trim we figure). After I got out of the hospital, I started a slow but sure incline in my energy level. Then on October 23 (my 40th birthday) I got short of breath, disoriented, incapable of making clear decisions. eventually I called 911 and when the EMTs got here I had a blood O2 level of 89%. They took me to the ER in a bus and I have never been the same since. I have experienced no increase in my energy level, I have a sore throat most of the time, flu like symptoms, muscle weakness, Most days my mind is still strong but not all, I am functioning at about 25% of what I used to be capable of, I have problems pulling the proper word out of my brain (sometimes 8 or more times per day), I feel run down especially the day after I over do it, at least 4 people have recently tried to talk to me about conversations that I have no memory of, my allergies are not only out of control they are the opposite of what I usually experience (instead of a dry nose I now have a constantly runny nose and I sneeze 50 times per day. I did test positive for Epstein-Barr exposure at some point in my life. I have 6 of the eight symptoms for diagnosis and like 25 of the 35 or so that people with CFS report. We have not yet ruled out MS, Lupus, and all of the kinds of cancer that are required for a CFS diagnosis, but I am almost positive it is CFS. Thoughts?

Smoking :: Vapourising Asthma Sufferers Or Analgesia?

Are We Missing Something?

I can’t help wondering in the clamber to get vaporising of nicotine banned is there not a case to look at for the delivery of future medication.

If this type of method can deliver a satisfying dose of nicotine to a reformed smoker could it not be used to administer a range of medication, such as those for asthma sufferers or analgesia?

Stopped Smoking :: Digestive Upset, Hives And Shortness Of Breath

I smoked my last cigarette on September 12th.  I hate not smoking.  I hate the 40 lb. weight gain, the digestive upset, the hives, the shortness of breath, waking up at night in tears and panic, crying over the smallest thing, the boredom, not having anything to do when I take a break.  Nothing smells good, nothing tastes good.  My skin and hair now have a rancid smell that won't wash off and makes me nauseous.  My complexion is a pasty gray like unbaked pie dough.  Friends say I smell bad and am embarrassing to be around.

If this is what non-smokers experience every day, I don't know how they stand it.  Life used to be good; now it's a never-ending nightmare with new aches and symptoms of sickness showing up every day.

I'd like to find the person who convinced me to do this and hurt them.

Fibromyalgia Syndrome :: Short Sharp Or Short Burning Aches

A month ago I was fine, no pain, no aches, nothing.

Then a small burning ache started in a precise spot on my right thigh.....then my breasts started to hurt.....then my elbow on my right arm..... Both sides of my ribs under my armpits.....my shin on my left leg and my inner thigh......then my whole left arm from wrist to armpit.

I feel like I've just been punched all over!

Blood Tests - normal

Urine test - normal

Stool sample - normal

ECG - normal

The pain isn't all the time, but in short sharp or short burning aches, it's stopping me from sleeping properly and its sometimes really scary when I get a sharp pain in my chest and left arm. It takes my breath away sometimes

I also get these strange "rushing" feelings in my chest/head when I lay down to sleep at night. Its almost like the rush you get when something makes you jump, but it lasts only a few seconds then it's gone. But I can have 3 or 4 of them in a row. But of course it's quite scary when you've no idea what they are.

Been in and out of doctors for weeks now and spent nearly £100 on prescriptions that haven't helped.

Been put on Amitriptyline 10mg for the pains but no change yet after a week, will keep taking for now though.

Im not convinced it's Fibromyalgia, but my doctor isn't the easiest to talk to.....

If anyone has any insight and can help me understand this all or maybe has any ideas please comment.

I'm 28, only other issue is PCOS but that doesn't give me much hassle.

Respiratory Disorders :: Shortness Of Breath, Light Headed, Breath Stuck In Stomach

I am debating if I should go to the Emergency Room, as it's a Sunday. My story - 26 year old male, healthy. Since age 10, I have had an intermittent feeling of my breath being stuck in my upper abdomen (solar plexus area) and a little in my chest but not much. Sometimes when going for a deep breath, I feel pain in the chest, but very rare. It almost feels like there is a wall in between my stomach and my lungs that prevents air coming out. I know it's weird because you breath out of your lungs not your stomach. The only way it comes out is when I finally catch my breath, which means I need to wait for it to be able to escape and then I finally get the deep breath I need. Also yawning often allows the breath to occur. When this is happening, I can still breath but it's like only 10% of my lungs fill up with air, like someone is standing on the other 90% of my lungs, preventing them from filling up.

My BASELINE/ usual status is having the breath being stuck symptom maybe 10 times a day, usually while eating. This has become normal for me and I don't even think about it until people who I am eating with say, "what is wrong with you?"

When it is GOOD, it happens even less, maybe once a day and I will barely realize it happened.

When it is BAD, it happens often, maybe 20 times an hour.

The last week it has been EXTREME to the point where I will be struggling for a full breath once a minute. It is so bad that I have been feeling light headed (main reason for the alarm here). I have class on weekends and I was walking to the train for class, and my body was telling me to stay home (i am the type of person who doesn't make a big deal out of anything and never skips stuff).

Background- I sleep very well, usually 7-8 hours a night, am very healthy, 6 feet tall, 180 pounds, run 6 miles 3 times a week (it happens the same when I run but it doesn't prevent me from running), played sports my whole life, doctors always tell me my blood work and everything is off the charts good. The reasons I just listed, combined with my Mom (nurse) always telling me I am fine have made me stop seeking cures for this. I had every test under the sun done when I was 15 (EKG, Barium Swallow, Blood work, etc) and everything came back clear. I have a concave chest (my chest caves in) and the doctor told me that my chest bone is interfering with my breathing (eyes rolling). But now that I am feeling light headed, I think it's time to go to the emergency room. I am going to go to a heart center in my town (Brooklyn, NY). Also, I LOVE doing research about stuff and have been reading about this a lot and tons of people have similar symptoms which has comforted me. But now it's time for me to get tested again I think. Maybe this just talked me into going to the ER.

Bad Breath - Lactose Intolerant - Nappy Breath After Eating Chocolate And Ice-cream

For as long as I can remember I have suffered with fart/baby nappy breath especially after eating chocolate and ice-cream, but worst of all even after brushing teeth and drinking water etc. I'm lactose intolerant, but never really had stomach pains unless I drink milk or eat ice-cream. Also my saliva stinks and I have a whitish tongue.

I'm now in my 40's and finally plucked up courage to go to my GP.

I had an h-pylori breath test in July this year and surprise, surprise was positive. I had metronidazole, Amoxycillin and omeprazole for 1 week. At the time my saliva stopped stinking and I thought I was getting better breath. However a few weeks on and my mouth tasted horrible again and I could smell my own fart/garbage stench when talking to people.

I asked my doctor to retest for h pylori, but he said I need to wait a year, even though the test kit says you can repeat a month after taking antibiotics. How else can I tell if the treatment worked, and then tell if it is the culprit of my bb?

I know this is nothing to do with my mouth care as I have an immaculate regime and people often say how white my teeth are. Unfortunately people also keep brushing their noses when I'm talking and I get the odd "have you farted?" comment.

I am married with kids and it never bothers me when I'm at home, but I know the problem exists and am desperate to solve or at least reduce the problem.

Short Banjo String - Will Stretching Help?

My girlfriend and I have been together for 2 months now, and sometimes when I go over to her house we sit on her bed and make out, the last couple of times in particular I have put my hands down her pants, (she hinted that she wanted me to do this) but as we make out and I finger her, she puts her hand on my upper leg and sort of reaches for my zipper, at this time I nudge her back on the bed, and just try to pleasure her more to try and avoid her getting in my pants. ( I hate having to do this). I am just really worried because, being 16 (she is to) and my foreskin can't be fully retracted because the part of skin connecting my meatus (I think it's called) to my shaft is a bit short. I'm positive it's not my foreskin being too tight, but definitely that bit of skin, I think it's called a frenulum but not sure if that is correct spelling, but otherwise nicknamed the "banjo string" is too short. This concerns me a lot, that she will go to give me a blowjob or hand job, she sees my penis and gets put off all together, or just puts it back in my pants. What should I do? I have heard that stretching sometimes works, can anyone give me any stretching techniques or methods that I can do. I am really embarrassed about this and prefer not to tell my folks or see a doctor.

Amiodarone For Cardioversion - Worth For Short Term

I have been taking Amiodarone for 2 months now for cardioversion as I have AF. I have been told that it is unlikely to be successful but that I might as well give it a go. So far I have had no problems at all - I take 200mg daily. I will be on it for a maximum of 4 months so my specialist says that I am unlikely to run into problems which he says are usually connected with much longer term use. My message to others is - please don't be afraid of this medicine - it's at least worth a go in the short term to see if you can tolerate it. The chance of getting rid of AF is just too important not to take it. As I say, so far, I am lucky in being able to tolerate it amongst at least 8 other meds which I take. I was very afraid to start with but now I just see it as "another pill to take".

Lisinopril - Short Term Memory Problems

It's been about four months since quitting Lisinopril. I am getting better. But, still have mental mistakes. Short term memory problems. Still not the sharp person I was. I know that the Doctors, Medical Establishment and "people in the know", know NOT to take this stuff. I have elected not to take any synthetic, Dr. prescribed, pharmaceutical company products.

What I don't understand is how SOME people do NOT have to do not notice these effects.

I cannot see one human NOT having them.
