Ford - Excursion :: Slightly Warped Rotors But Shakes Without Braking
Recently bought a 2001 Excursion 4x4 but failed to take it on the highway and get it up to speed. It shakes real bad around 65 but I can't tell exactly where the shake comes from. Here is what I've fixed so far. Balanced tires, Alignment, Fixed Steering Linkage, Balanced rear drive shaft, new shocks, new brake pads (slightly warped rotors but shakes w/o braking), lubed everything, replaced all fluids except transmission which was clean, no metal in any fluids, removed front driveshaft. Checked wheel bearing as best as I can.

I have a 2000 f250 superduty gas v10 6.8L . I bought this truck about 4 months ago. Now when I take off from a complete stop the truck shakes up until second gear, shifts fine all the way up until the last gear it looses power "loosing power" i mean i can put my foot into the pedal and it takes forever to climb speed meanwhile the RPM'S never skyrocket like it the transmission was slipping if anything a couple times the RPM's dropped are stayed the same then as i take my foot off of the pedal once i have my desired speed sometimes not always the truck will give me a little jerk Also Just the other day I was driving on the highway and decide to put her on cruise control at about 70mph, I set the cruise control and the RPM gauge was just over 2,000 and the tach was fluctuating up and down about 1/16 of an inch. I been reading alot of forums and what I got out of them is it maybe pointing me to a misfire maybe the coil packs? Plugs? It's not something major like a transmission rebuilt.

My Yukon, with 140,000 miles, will sometimes start/fire up right away but other times it sluggish to start and then when it finally does it will shake for a while. Also, sometimes when idling at a stop light it will shake. It will also shake sometimes when I get around 60-70 mph. The rpm's are fine.
I replaced the fuel pump last spring and had a tuneup last summer. What could be causing this? I've had my mechanic look at it and he's hooked up his handheld diagnostic tool to it and it never shows any codes.
Ford - F150 :: 2003 - Grabbing / Grinding - Metal Rubbing Sound And Shakes In Braking
I have 2003 F150 SuperCrew 5.4L XLT. For past month or so, have been hearing metal rubbing sound and had shakes in braking - as well as a "grabbing and pulling" sound near brake pedal - very aggravating to say the least. Weird thing is the grabbing and pulling sound only happens under 10 miles an hour or coming to a complete stop. (The grabbing sort of sounds like the sound the ABS makes when hit really hard)
Yesterday I had brakes and rotors replaced - mechanic said front rotors were beyond turning - very bad. 135,000 miles on truck. Felt more comfortable until I pulled out of shop and when I applied brakes, had the same grabbing/grinding sound, but no pulling. Went back to mechanic and had him ride with me to hear sound, and he is stumped.
Knew it was safe(r) to drive since new pads/rotors installed, but when I got up to 55mph and barely touched the brakes, the steering wheel began to shake violently - but no sound/grabbing from brake pedal area like I get when I am 10mph or under. Really at a loss right now.. What's going on?
Truck is a 2WD, also hear some thump thump thump sounds from front left tire, which are only one year old, but tire man said that was from suspension arm or something - nothing to worry about he says.
Some people have said "bearing" or "hub" but when brakes were replaced, the bearings were repacked...is this the same thing? Is the current problem safe to drive with? I do not take vehicle out of the county - just to work and back and hunting on weekends.
Ford Excursion :: Rotors Rubbing On Caliper Bracket - Brake Rotors Too Thick?
I replaced my warped front brake rotors a couple thousand miles ago and all was fine but when I went to swap over to my snow tires, I can see that the outer part of the rotor has been rubbing on the caliper bracket. This is happening on both front rotors. Could my new rotors be too thick or something?
View 4 RepliesFord - F150 :: Shaking When Try To Stop
My F150 went the first 80,000 miles with no problem, but since that time I have a problem with warped rotors, currently 190,000. It shakes as you try to stop. I had the rotors turned. Lasted about 5000 miles and then warped again. Replaced the rotors, warped again. Turned rotors, warped again. Been driving with them warped trying to figure out what is causing them to warp. Wondering if there is something that is causing most of the braking load to be on the front brakes.

I have a 2012 Ford F150 that has started to slip (for lack of a better word), every time I come to a complete stop. It takes a few seconds, but then gunk! It just slips/jumps forward a little bit. Nothing after that. A buddy told me he thinks my U-Joint is going out. What else it might possible be?

I have a '95 Ford F150 with a manual transmission and when I come to a stop light, the engine will either idle down more then it should then go back to normal or it will idle down and then stall out. And when I accelerate, I have to gun the engine for it to go forward or it will stall out again. I replaced the fuel filter and cleaned the air intake area and it still happens.
View 2 RepliesFord 7.3L Power Stroke (1999-2003) :: Warped Front Rotors
I've put 6k on the truck since the dealership replaced the front rotors and pads but they started to warp a few hundred miles ago. I do have a lift and new 37" tires so I was wondering what rotor / pad combo works best for larger tires and towing. I was looking at EBC kits but I'm sure there are better and cheaper options...

I have a 1987 ford f150 with a EFI throttle bodied 5.0L (302), and I have taken it to a mechanic multiple times because for one it has a dead spot in the throttle and it dies when you let off the gas at a stop light or sign. But the mechanic said he checked everything he knew to check and found nothing wrong with it. I also had my cousin read the computer previous to this and we couldn't pull the codes from it.

I've replaced the pads and rotors on my 97 f250 HD, only to have constant squealing. I've replaced ranger rotors before with no problem but this has been an adventure. It's squeals constantly up to 35, (I've only went up to 35) and squeals louder under braking. Just looking for some pointers. Probably just need a good cleaning. The truck is parked until its fixed more than likely.

was going to do a brake job on my f250 light duty and the rotors won't come off. At first I thought they were rusted on but after looking at them it looks like the studs are attached to the rotor. Need to confirm this because the new rotors I got don't have the hub attached. Don't know if it's the wrong part or what?
View 9 RepliesFord Super Duty (1999-2016) :: 2005 - Nasty Wobble When On Brakes - Warped Rotors
Brake issues on 2005 F250. About 3 years ago during vehicle inspection the garage stated I need all for rotors on my F250. I had @40,000 miles at the time. Garage said rotors are a onetime use, no recutting them. So I got all new rotors. Prior to then I never even felt a wobble indicating they were warped. Anyhow now with 15,000 miles on them I have a huge wobble when I get on the brakes and it's 5x pronounced when pulling a trailer. I assume more warped rotors. If so, why? I pull a camper or car trailer maybe 7-10 times a year.
Now currently I am assuming its warped rotors because I have not had it "professionally" checked. I did have one occasion last August pulling the camper where I smelled the brakes being hot. The pedal got soft. After cooling it seemed ok and I flushed the old fluid and put in new. I have about 4100 miles since then and the warped feel just started about a month ago. I hate the thought of new rotors as I paid for new Ford rotors 3 years ago. Didn't want the Chinese crap from the box stores. I can't imagine how these would warp this bad after less than 15,000 miles, they are massive. Why they would so quickly?
Ford Super Duty (1999-2016) :: 2004 F250 - New Pads And Rotors Still A Horrible Shutter
As the title states I just finished putting pads and rotors on the front of my 04' f250. I have had a terrible shutter almost a bouncing effect while braking over the last week or so, finally got around to doing the work and still no satisfaction! My question is where to go next? Wheel bearings and tires are good, I do get a pretty good wobble/vibration in the pedal while braking. Should I be looking at a brake booster or master cylinder? Or is it possible it's a caliper? Truck goes down the road fine until and brake is applied.
