Toyota - Corolla :: 2004 - Radio And Cigarette Lighter Quit Working
I went to go fuel up my '04 Toyota and when I turned the car back on, the radio and lighter (and the heat at first - it's working now...) were dead. What this could mean?
View 2 RepliesPrius (2010-12) :: Windshield Wipers And Cigarette Lighter Plugs Don't Work - Fuses Blown?
We have a fleet of Prius's with 11k miles on them. Windshield wipers don't work and cigarette lighter plugs don't work. I'm guessing this is due to blown fuses. Where the fusebox is? I'm getting fed up with this. Also, is there a diagram somewhere that shows which fuses are for which circuits? (IE Which number fuses protects windshield wiper circuit) so I can finally see in the rain...
View 8 RepliesEscort :: Radio Went Off After Some Fuse Replacement Of Cigarette Lighter
So I have a really weird problem. The cigarette lighter in my 97 Ford Escort wasn't working, so I thought I'd check the fuse. Got under the dash, pulled the fuse, sure enough, it was blown. So I threw a new 20A in there. I put my usb charger back in the cigarette lighter, and had to wiggle it a little bit to get it to work, but it worked. (It's always been like this, the actual housing is probably shorting out, which could be the cause of the blown fuse, i Know lol)
So I turn off the car and walk back in the house. 10 minutes later I come back out to the car, and the light on the usb charger is still on, as is the RADIO. It simply won't turn off! No key in the ignition, nothing. But the radio is still on, and the cigarette lighter still has power.
So out of curiosity, I pulled the new fuse I just put in. The radio turned off. But get this. The cigarette lighter still works. I think it may have been working the whole time, but I for some reason was never able to wiggle it just right to get it to work. So the cigarette lighter seems to have no change with or without the fuse, but the radio will be stuck on all the time if there is a fuse in this spot.
Passat (B5) :: 12V Cigarette Lighter Plug Stops Working
The 12V cigarette lighter plug stops working so I can't charge my phone. The 12v plug in the trunk works. I don't know much about cars. I drive a 99 passat
View 1 RepliesGolf IV / Jetta IV :: 2005 - Cigarette Lighter Not Working
Common issue, tried to the common fixes, nada. Checked fuse 41 - cigarette lighter, wasn't blown, swapped it with another 15A anyway, still no power. Cleaned the contacts inside as best I could with a wire brush, nothing. The red illuminated ring around the lighter lights up, but no power to the cig lighter still.
We're moving out of state in July and it will be a two day trip, want to make sure that the car charger will work before we leave.

Prius Plug-in 2012-15 :: Fuse Controls Cigarette Lighter Stopped Working
My fuse controls cigarette lighter has apparently stopped working. I use it to charge my phone on trips. I had plugged in an inverter in an attempt to run a small fridge (for camping) and maybe that blew it out. The inverter didn't work but I could run it directly off the battery terminals. that was too much work and there were bears around anyway so I bagged the project.
View 9 RepliesPrius (2010-12) :: Cigarette Lighter Adapter Inside Center Console Not Working
The cigarette lighter adapter inside the center console of my 2010 Prius (next to the USB/iPod and AUX plugs) does not appear to be working, although the adapter underneath the gear shifter works fine. A few weeks ago, I found some coins, which I keep inside that center console that had gotten wedged inside the cigarette lighter adapter cavity. It was after removal of those coins that I first learned that the adapter was not working (I tried a few different devices to make sure that it was the adapter itself not working).
From reading the web, it sounds like the fix may be as simple as replacing the fuse. From what I understand, the fuse is just above the emergency parking brake. If so, where do I purchase a new fuse and how much does a new fuse cost? Also, how do I know which fuse needs replacing? Is that in the instruction manual?
Ford F-150 (2004-2008) :: Cigarette Lighter And Phone Charger Quit Working?
Why my cig lighter and cell phone charger stopped working. I changed the fuse but it did not solve the problem. I don't smoke but I love to charge my cell phone when I go hunting overnight.

View 3 RepliesHonda - Odyssey :: 2008 - Electrical Malfunction - Radio Controls Stopped Working - Rear Wipers Starts Running In Off Position?
I have a 2008 Honda Odyssey. I purchased the van used back in February with 34,000 miles on it. About a week after I bought it, the van started having odd electrical problems. My radio controls on the wheel would stop working, my rear wiper would start running even though it is in the off position. My power sliding doors would catch and close at the half way point on both sides at the same time. It is little odd ball stuff, but I am worried that the "brain" is not working properly. I have taken it to the dealer multiple times and of course they can't find the problem. They say to bring it back if it keeps happening, which I do, but every time they say it is fine and send me on my merry little way.
View 2 RepliesCamry :: 2006 - Cigarette Lighter Power Gone Bad
I have a 2006 Camry LE. About a year or so ago, my cig lighter power went out (both dash and arm rest.) I replaced the fuses for the Cig and Power Point and they worked again.
Well, they've gone out again. I replaced both of those fuses again and it's a no go. Still not working.
Is there any other fuse it could be? What might have happened here? I'm really hoping it's not a huge expensive fix. It's a huge pain not being able to charge anything, and I was just about to start driving for Uber too. I really need these back online.
Prius (Gen 2) :: Cigarette Lighter Fuse Have Blown
So I have an Android smartphone. That I always put on the charger in my 2005. However. I have blown the fuse to the cigarette lighter. Both the one in the center console and the one under the passenger side dashboard.
The last time that happened. I bought the indicated 15 Amp fuse (as the Owner's Manual indicates - vaguely) Only to find that swapping out fuse 20 IIRC. Yielded no power to those ports.
Suburban :: 98 - Cigarette Lighter Fuse Blow Often
Every couple of days, my 20 amp cigarette lighter fuse (#13) will blow. It is connected to the lumbar seats, the cigarette lighter, the interior door lock switches (not the key FOB - that is separate). I've tried using a 25 amp and that didn't work.

I just bought a 2012 Prius 3 and sold my wife's BMW 3. I still have my X5 though and one of the convenience I'm missing in the Prius is having the cigarette lighter adapter always supplying power even though the ignition is in 0 position and key out of the socket as in my X5.

View 3 RepliesSanta Fe (DM - 2013+) :: Cigarette Lighter Socket Not Drawing Enough Current?
For some reason, all of my cig lighter sockets stopped working properly. Voltage is steady at around 12.5v but amperage constantly drops to near 0. Fuse is intact of course and all other electrical components are working fine.
What can possibly be a cause of this?? and any solution?? It's been 2 days and I would like to know my options before heading to a dealership.
