Ford Excursion :: AC Not Blowing Out Of Defrost Or Floor Sometimes
The front a/c on my ex on the highest blower motor speed blows out the vents like its on low, but I can hear the motor blowing at full speed. It's not blowing out of defrost or floor unless I switch it. On lower settings I can barely feel any air at all. Only does this rarely. Could it be my vacuum pump?

Drove the truck on a trip the other day, about 650 miles with a loaded 5x8 trailer in tow. A/C started acting weird. When the truck was on level ground, or going down hill, the A/C was fine. Cold air coming out the correct dash vents. As soon as I started up hill, or put the truck under strain of acceleration, the A/C would stop blowing out the dash vents and would start coming out the floor or defrost vents, or just not come out anywhere.
When I turned the A/C off and just used the vent setting, it would do the same thing with the fresh air. I guessing this has something to do with my vacuum lines, somewhere. What I should be looking for and where?
Ford A/C :: 2002 Excursion - Air Blowing Through Defrost Only
I'm not sure if on my 2002 Excursion limited the air vents are controlled thru vacuum or electronically. Where to start. Where to even begin looking to correct this problem. I'd rather not have to pay the dealer prices unless it is something out of my league of fixing.

My 02 V-10 Ex seems to be blowing Air from the front vents up to the Defrost unless it go through a series of events-- Hit Auto then forward Air then the fan has to be a 4 only. It will blow forward vents then go back and forth from theirr to the defrost. Also the Temp seems to be much hotter then it should.
Took a interstate trip this weekend though and it seems to blow much colder and do a little bit better staying in the front vents however still goes back and forth. Im in FL and its HOT!!!! The only thing I know is that its a vacuum system.. and that again its HOT in the truck as a daily driver.

I have a 2005 4.2 with 89k 4wd. The brake pedal occasionally goes farther towards the floor when coming to the end of a stop. I have bled the brake lines. All brake pads, rotors, and lines are good. Could it still be air in the lines?

The fan for the AC started blowing at high the other day when it was first started which is normal when its hot out. But after a few seconds it slowed then picked up, them slowed, the picked up. Just like it was confused.
I turned it off and then back to AUTO and it was OK again. This happened twice now in the last three days when it was hot out. Today the fan would not start until I turned it off and on a few times. Blower, blower resistor, AC dash control.

I have a 2004 Trailblazer, and just recently the A/C just stop blowing. I have checked to relays and fuses and all are fine, I even checked the fan motor relay thinking that would work. I am at a lost right now and have no clue what else to check.

I have a 2010 f-150. Started having issues with the blend door actuator located behind the radio so replaced that a couple months ago and fixed issue. Now the a/c will only blow through the defrost and floor vents. I replaced the lower blend door actuator thinking that might be the culprit, but did not fix the problem. What the solution might be.

Ok have and 2001 excursion v10 auto the make good heat but when you start to like climb a hill it alternates between the floor and defrost then when you knoll the hill it goes back to the vent heat. I guessing a vacuum problem.

No matter what I do with the settings for my heater in my lariat air only blows out of the dash vents. Defrost and floor vents don't work it still blows hot air out of the dash vents. I'm not sure what the deal is maybe the vacuum system? I did a search and all I could find was people having trouble with air ONLY blowing out of the defroster and my case is just the opposite.

So I can't figure out what is causing my a/c to randomly stop working,it's not leaking or freezing up and it's not the clutch or fuse and so on. What it does is basically it transitions from cool humidity free air to warmer humid air It's been in two different shops and produces no error messages either,however when it does it if you turn the car off and start it again it starts working fine. The floor and defrost vents work. It just stays on defrost when you try to use the dash vents. The actuator seems to be working fine. I can watch the arm move through all the motions. and I cant find ANY vacuum leaks. Yes I looked at the hubs and under the hood. I have a Gen II problem with my air conditioning. The air conditioning works; however, the air is stuck blowing in the defrost setting. I think there is some problem with the Air Mix Servo. In my non Prius cars they called the part a blend door actuator. Long story short, the air will not move to the front vents or anywhere else. That said, I can't hear the servo moving at all.

My 2005 Freestar (not the Freestyle) a/c is working properly except that it is only blowing through the defrost. I've read other posts about it being a leaking vacuum system on other ford vehicles that cause this problem.
1) I'd like to confirm that this Freestar a/c works on a vacuum system to open the a/c duct doors.
2) If it is, where are the vacuum hoses located? I'd like to check them to see if they are connected or if they have a hole.
Ford F-150 - 1997-2003 :: No Heat / No Air - Just Blowing On The Defrost And Panel
Every thing was working great then the AC quit. I ran through the air selector and all I can get is panel and defrost with no heat. I checked the vacuum line on the passenger side engine compartment and it looks good. Oh I also took the control apart and 3 of the five holes had vacuum to them.

Replaced the vacuum solenoid.. Thought that would fix the ac blowing threw the defrost when I switch to 4x4, but didn't fix the issue, 4x4 works great. There is another little diaphragm that has a vacuum line to it that opens and closes, could this be causing the air to go defrost? I'm going to go to a buddies house and test for leaks this Saturday, just trying to get a jump on it...

My A/C is blowing cold but only thru the defrost vents. First it was blowing normally from the dash but during acceleration or under load, the a/c would randomly blow from any vent, from the floor, dash, defrost. Now that stopped and it only blows from the defrost vents above the dash-board.
1997 F-150 XLT, 4.2 Liter, V6, manual transmission.
