Touareg :: Flat Tire Warning Flashed And Beeped For No Reason
While highway driving the other day the Flat Tire Warning flashed and beeped for no reason. It flashed on and off for about an hour. Is this a faulty pressure sensor?

Well, due to an unresolved A/C issue my dealer has had my Treg for 2 weeks out of the past 2 months and then my front grill flew off and smashed my windshield. Dealership agreed to cover the damage but managed to sell-off my replacement windshield by accident. Been driving around for 2 weeks with a badly cracked windshield, waiting for replacement glass. View 3 RepliesTouareg :: While Going On A Bump Alarm Goes Off That Rear Hatch Is Open
Ever since the dealer did some work on my TReg that involved removing the back bumper, and some other side panels to fix a whistling noise (this is a known problem with a bead of glue being left in some wind channel during manufacturing), when I go over a bump the alarm goes off that the rear hatch is open.
I have to slam the rear window 4 or 5 times to get the indicator to go back off. Dealer says I have to bring it in to have it looked at and they give me a rental. I want them to be able to order the fricken part, let me know when it is in, and THEN drop it off to get fixed. Just the sensor being loose possibly?
When it goes off, the picture of the vehicle comes on in the MFI which is annoying, because I can't change to anything else. And when I stop I have to make sure it is off or interior lights stay on.
Touareg :: Rear Window Is Rusting?
it's got these spots and they are rusting. It's only on one side of the window and no where else on the car. Will post pictures shortly. I have never heard of a window rusting. But it looks like some sort of coating on the window that is rusting but when I removed the rust it goes below the surface of the glass.

Well I have had my T-Reg for 24 hours and only have one issue. The rear window on the hatch will not open. We read the manual multiple times and it states you just unlock the hatch and than hold the button underneath the wiper and it should open. No luck. Looks like it could be some electrical thing.

I have used (or tried to) the rear window exactly twice over the last year or so and it has never opened easily.Is there some trick to opening the rear window? I've searched the manual and threads and have come up empty.
As reference here is what I've tried to open it:
-Using the key fob and door buttons to unlock the "trunk"
-Pushed button under the wiper blade housing then pulled the housing to open the window
-Pushed the button under the wiper blade housing while simultaneously pulling the housing up to open the window
-Used the door button to unlock the trunk and immediately ran to the back of the truck to open the window
-Used the convenience function (meaning did not push any buttons)and pushed the button under the wiper blade housing while simultaneously pulling the housing up to open the window
BTW, the hatch is always closed when I try to open the window.
As I said, I used some combination of the above to open the window twice after numerous attempts. Last night I tried everything and could not get the darn thing to open so I used the ski bag and rear seat pass-though to store what I needed while the front of it rested on the front passengers' armrest. I don't think anything is broken, it is likely that I just don't know how the darn thing works and the manual stinks.
Touareg :: Rear Window Sun Screen Stuck
My wife or my daughter (neither will take the blame) pulled the Sun Screen up/out to far and now it won't retract back into the door. How to get it to retract again, without taking the door apart?

Every so often when I open the rear window, my MFI will report it "open" even when it's not. Thus far the only solution I have found is that I have to exit the vehicle re-open and re-close the rear window. I have checked the rear window to see if it was open or loose - but it's been secured each time.

My darling wife just called me and told me that one of the people that she was transporting in our egg this afternoon pulled up the passenger-side rear sunshade and hooked it on the clips at the top. Then apparently he just rested his arm on the ledge and they heard some sort of "pop" noise. Then, when he unhooked the sun shade to retract it back into the door it wouldn't pull back and retract so it's stuck in the "open" position. I'm guessing it's a simple matter of popping off the door skin and resetting something that's popped/snapped off.

While sitting at the heliport waiting on the rain to stop I noticed my rear window is leaking right above the sliding window. I'm kinda worried about this while I'm offshore because I have a power sliding window and I don't want it to ruin anything that moves the window. Its strange but since the other day the rear right window comes down sporadically when I push the window button on the driver console. When it does come down I am able to get it back up but when it closes all the way thats when it doesn't want to come back down. There is a tree sap problem where I live that gets all over the car. I'm wondering if the sap particles are having an effect on the ability to lower the window. When the window is stuck all the way up I can hear the motor in the door.

Everything I've seen in the forum refers to alarms activating and how to turn them off, my problem is the opposite. Last year I performed a simple injector cup procedure on my 2000 7.3 Excursion which took about 3 months, during which time I had my batteries removed. When I finally buttoned everything back up I noticed that my alarm does the "chirp", but that I can leave a window rolled down and open any door without it going off. How to get this to reset? I can hit the panic button and get the alarm, but as a security feature it's not working.

On my display, I get a "Key Battery is Empty" alarm with a little key symbol that stays there as long as I am driving. I have replaced the battery...still the alarm. I have tried the other FOB...still the alarm. The thing is, the FOB works (I have the keyless start) so it seems to be a software issue but how do I reset it without venturing down to the dealer?
