Tiguan :: 2012 - Just Died While Driving?
I have a 2012 Tiguan that's about 2 1/2 years old now, and, naturally, just shy of my 40k mile service window. For the most part, it's driven flawlessly. Today, after driving for about an hour and a half, it randomly died, and the alternator light came on. Ironically, this happened just a few hundred feet from my house, and it essentially agreed to limp home at about 15 mph until it got into my driveway, at which point the power steering gave out. I put it in park, turned it off and took out the key, waited about 30 seconds (a lifetime of PC troubleshooting is hard to ignore) and restarted, with no issues or warning lights. I don't have any OBD tool to pull the codes right now.
I can get it into the dealer probably by Friday, but I have two days of needing to go to a customer that's 40 miles away. I'm concerned about this happening at highway speeds, rather than on an empty residential street. To be fair, I had been driving a while, it's the warmest day of the year, and I had the A/C on and off throughout the drive, as well as radio and my iphone charging (nothing unusual, though). Any thoughts on if I should seriously worry about driving it around the next two days, or if it was likely a fluke?
Ford Ranger / B-Series :: Engine Was Not Revving Up When Stepped On The Gas
I have a 91 ranger with the 3.0 engine. Recently the engine was not reving up when i stepped on the gas. But, it kept running and i got home. Then one day it just wouldn't start after i just shut it off. I've changed the distributor cap and rotor, fuel pump and filter.I have spark to all 6 plugs and good fuel pressure to the fuel rail. I'm leaning toward the timing. Last night I found the harmonic balancer will just spin freely. Will this stop it from firing? If it is the timing, how do I find tdc and where is the # 1 firing position on the distributor cap(no markings)?
View 14 RepliesTiguan :: Battery Died / No Key Holes Found In The Car
My girlfriend has a Tiguan, and I noticed there are no key holes anywhere in the car. I noticed this after leaving the lights on in my GTI and having to manually key in to gain access to the car.
What happens if she were to leave her lights on? Is there a separate battery source for the keyless entry? I have to think there's something smarter (than me) to keep you from getting totally locked out of your car if your battery should die...
Tiguan :: Car Battery Died Suddendly After A Long Trip
Yesterday night I got back from a tired long trip and forgot the light nob on fog light position. This afternoon I went out to the car the battery is dead.
I asked dealer but they claim this is a feature to leave side lights on if I left light nob at fog/side position while key is removed. I used to own a 2009 Corolla with auto light, it always turn off all lights regardless light switch position after key is removed.
Car model is 2010 Tiguan Hightline / SEL
Camry :: 2008 V6 - Loud Vibrating / Ticking Noise From Engine When Stepped On Gas
I have an 08 camry v6 with 31K. I noticed when I got off the highway after driving for about a 1/2 hour the engine had a loud vibrating/ticking noise when I stepped on the gas. This morning when the car was cold and I drove it locally it was fine, i also checked the oil and it's clean and full. Not sure what's going on. Also this only happened after I had the whole car painted not sure if it's related since I dont know if they take parts off to paint a whole car.
View 2 RepliesTiguan :: Battery Died Now Driver Side Back Door Actuator Won't Work
Among other issues that have been happening with our tig, the battery crapped out. Replaced the battery no problem. The drivers side auto up and down stopped working but that was an easy fix.
When the battery died we noticed the chirp wasn'tt happening when you lock the car. Back left door isn't locking or unlocking with either the fob or any buttons on doors. The lock buttons on the affected door either, but the window works fine.
This seems like the battery dying caused it, is there some way to reset it like the auto up?
Camry :: Brake Pedal Went To The Floor When Stepped On It
My mother went out 2 days ago to go run errands, she stepped on the brake pedal and it went to the floor (car still in garage and in park, low mileage car 81,xxx garage kept). I have not been able to duplicate the issue. The fluid has been changed twice since new, no signs of fluid loss, undercarriage inspection revealed nothing. I am thinking maybe a vacuum hose issue.
View 2 RepliesBuick - Lesabre :: 2004 - Hesitation When Stepped On The Gas
Driving my car over the week-end and experienced a lot of hesitation when I stepped on the gas. The car seemed to delay in kicking in to the next gear.I stopped and checked my transmission oil and realized I didn't have much transmission fluid, practically none. So, I added a quart. My question is what should I do now. I know it probably doesn't have enough but I don't know how much to put in. Or should I just have it changed?
View 12 RepliesMazda :: Stepped On Gas Pedal While The Car Is In Park Position
I accidentally stepped on the gas pedal of my brand new Mazda CX-5, when I had the car in park, while waiting for the outside bank teller. The car made a revving sound at the time, but seems to be driving OK. I am wondering if I have done any short/long term damage to the motor, engine, transmission or any other part of the vehicle.
View 19 RepliesSubaru - Outback :: Would Not Go When Stepped On Gas And In Gear When Warmed Up
i had the transmission seals replaced in my 01 outback wagon, auto trans) by a reputable transmission shop a few weeks ago. when i took it in for the seals, they said they would run a pressure check (?) to make sure it didn't need a whole new transmission or rebuild. apparently it didn't because they just did the seals (symptoms were when putting it in gear when warm, it would not go when you stepped on the gas...it moved fine when the engine was cold). it runs great now, except for going uphills. it really dogs out on the hill, and as you apply the gas to keep the speed up, the engine/transmission will eventually "kick in", rev really high (4-5000 rpms), and then settle down and go. could it be something other than the transmission?

Today i wanted to slow down a bit after hitting 75mph on a 65mph freeway so i stepped off the gas pedal. However the speed did not decrease but kept going up slowly to 80 till i stepped on the brake in order to slow down. After hitting the brake , it seemed to work as usual ( speed decreases when foot is pff the pedal). Had to do it multiple times today? Am i missing something? Only happened on the freeway, once i got off it seemed fine.

Ford Excursion :: 2004 - Hissing Sound When Stepped On Gas?
My 2004 excursion left me stranded in Louisiana this weekend and I had to drive a rental back to Austin today. Was running fine and I got up to come home on sat and the turbo would not engage. When I would step on the gas I could hear a loud hissing sound, the more I stepped on the gas the more of that sound I could hear. Truck would not accelerate at all and almost felt like it was going to come apart at 50 mph. The error code I got from auto zone was turbo issue. and it gave me possible reasons. I checked hoses to and from turbo all hooked up and seemed to be in working condition. There seemed to be some black soot along the top and back of the engine. It would idle fine, but trying to drive it was impossible. I left it at a Ford dealership in Lafayette and await the news. I have a powertrain warranty up to 113,000 miles I hope it covers repair.
View 7 RepliesPrius (2010-12) :: Woof Noise When Stepped On Brake Pedal
I had a problem with my brakes about 4 months ago. They were making a barking noise when I stepped on the brake pedal. The dealer bled the brakes and reflashed software. Now the problem is back and they say I probably new a new brake actuator. It should be covered by the extended warranty. I hope a new actuator will fix this. I like everything else about the car. (Have 37,000 miles)

Every time the dew point is up (that happens nearly daily here in WA) the brakes squeal the first time I step on them. After the 2nd stop the squealing stops. Service center has said that it's the brakes themselves; that they are steel and so develop rust and that causes the squealing. Can I replace these brakes with something that doesn't squeal?
View 1 RepliesMazda - Mazda3 :: 2010 - Makes Noise When Stepped On Clutch Pedal
The noise sounds a little like a baby Road Runner, a soft little "meep" sound. I usually notice it after the car has warmed up, when I come and go from a stop sign. In lieu of strapping somebody to the hood with duct tape, I've been trying to think of a tunnel that I could drive through fairly slowly with the window down while I attempt to replicate the sound.
View 3 RepliesPrius (2004-09) :: 2007 - Loud Whining Noise Followed By Car Jumping When Stepped On Gas
Started the car the other day and a loud whining noise followed by the car "jumping" when I stepped on the gas. It would go/stop for a second, then shut down. Mechanic who is not a Prius expert said it was the tranny. He could put in a used one (77k miles). Car has 250k miles on it. Is it worth it? Or should I just part it out. I'm worried about things like the battery going next.
