Tiguan :: 2011 - Difference Between Clockspring And Steering Control Module For Retrofit?
I see these 2 terms almost interchanged. I understand they have different functions. Clockspring is power to airbag and control module connects to, in my case, the CAN-BUS that actually sends the signals. Am I correct in my thinking here? I have just about put all the pieces together for my MK6 MFSW retrofit and still wondering if I'll need a new clockspring or not.

If I want the luxury package then I'd have to go with18 inch wheels. I can do without that package but was curious about the different handling characteristics? I'm concerned about mpg and handling.

Well, after a trip to the dealer, they don't make decisions easier. Offering a 'new' 2015 LS (only with Levinson and Comfort) msrp around 84k for 67k plus taxes. Nice discount, but on a car about to be a year old and new style coming soon,. OR 2016 ES with UL (all options) msrp 50k for 45k plus taxes.
Style on the ES fresher, but an LS is...well..an LS! Love an isolated ride, but LS is kinda large for my family. Will be hard decision. Pointers?

I have a 2008 ES that I'm thinking of trading in for a 300H. However, a couple of things bug me about the ES 300H - primarily the small size of the trunk - meaning that our suitcases would not fit in the trunk - and if you can't take a nice new car on a trip, then you start questioning what it is that you're doing.
So, I've been looking online at the 2016 Avalon Hybrid Limited, and I'm extremely impressed with what is being offered on that Limited model. It's priced in the mid $40,000's, but it comes with the complete list of options that the Lexus offers - including a larger trunk.
The feedback I'm looking for are comparisons, advantages, and disadvantages between the Lexus 300H and the Avalon Limited.

I own a 08 F350 which has 4:10 gears. After this last trip to AZ pulling 5th wheel and only getting 7 - 8.5 mpg driving 65 most of the trip, I'm seriously considering a new F350. Switch from 2008 to 2012 with about the same truck? I'm thinking of going back to 3:73 which I know works a bit. But if someone did switch what was your mileage difference. I have been also tossing idea of replacing my 4:10 with 3:73 to improve mileage. My 08 only has 24k on the clock.

Have any other 2013 Tiguan S owners with Auto Trans noticed that the engine runs very loud with the AC on?
Currently I have around 600 miles on the clock and when I turn the AC on, the engine sounds way louder.
On top of that, when I'm cruising at 15 mph with the AC on and I give the car some gas, the transmission stumbles a bit and sometimes I hear a single click noise.
Tiguan :: 2013 - RPM Drops Quickly When Idle
I purchased a CPO 2013 Tiguan about 5 weeks ago with just under 29k miles. I now have about 30.5k miles. I have noticed this occur a couple of times. After the car is warmed up, and I am sitting idle for a little bit, I notice the RPMS bounce down to about 600, but then quickly correct itself and get back up to 750-800. When I purchased the car, they said they did the 30k mile maintenance. I have done 1 oil change withe the Pennzoil Platinum 5w40 euro blend. I do not feel like the oil change is the issue at all as I have changed oil plenty of times with numerous cars. Maybe I just need the ECU re-flashed?

I just picked up a 2013 SEL CPO, I noticed after I took the car home the brakes starting squeaking, I took it back and the Service Advisor told me this was a known issue and the only thing they could do is so put some crap I don't know what he said but he said it was but it would wear off and start squeaking again...
