Sonata NF (2006-10) :: ABS / ESC Off And Brake Lights Stay On
Received a battery jump in the dark from a friend who mistakenly had crossed the polarity. It blew the 150amp alternator fuse which is now replaced. Now, the ABS, ESC Off and brake lights stay on after starting. I have checked all fuses and the main relay, both under the hood and in side of dash, and cannot figure out what is causing this. The auto shift lever is locked out and I don't want to override it not knowing if it will cause any damage. Also, what protocol OBD system would this auto fall under?

I have an 06 sonata and have no brake lights and the constant ESC off light staying on. After reading countless threads on here I see that the brake light switch was recalled on these and this is extremely common problem with this year and model. I went to my local shop bought a brand new switch, installed it properly and still the lights won't come on. I changed the fuses as well. Emergency lights, and the tail lights when the headlights are on come on but no brake lights. My next guess is the bulbs? they look ok. But I had a dodge caravan where both bulbs went out before at the same time so is that a possibility with this?

I thought I noticed this a few days back but figured it was my imagination... However, I confirmed it tonight... When coming home and going down my rather steep driveway, I noticed the third brake light blinking. It actually seemed rather consistent... I backed up the driveway, went back out for a minute and didn't notice anything, but then noticed it once again when going down our hill.
First and foremost, would this be covered under the say bumper-to-bumper warranty? I'm assuming it's a fault in the brake light switch. It seems to not be quite as bad the harder I brake.
Second, I seem to recall some kinds of brake switch issues... I know I've also had some TCS light issues (TCS OFF lit just today) but I always figured it was from my rather aggressive driving habits. Could this be related to a faulty switch?
Sonata NF (2006-10) :: 2007 - Brake Lights Stopped Working
I have an '07 Hyundai Sonata (4 cylinder) with the sunroof and XM. Yesterday, someone nearly hit me with their car and told me that my brake lights stopped working. I went home and tested it out and it doesn't seem to work at all. (The third brake light died out a week ago). I checked fuses and they seemed to be okay, tried replacing them with spare ones and still doesn't work (My old rover always had fuse problems). Bulbs look fine and they're definitely not burned out.

I just noticed it this morning. When I step on my brake pedal, all 3 brake lights activate, then they start to sporadically blink, I don't think it's a fuse problem, since the 3rd brake light also blinks, and I believe it runs independent of the regular brake lights.
What to check.. No codes are being listed, checked that with my Scangauge II already. (2006 GLS)
Sonata I45 (YF - 2011+) :: Brake / ABS And Traction Lights Came On
I've been lowered on coils for the past 6 months. I have been running aftermarket wheels since day one. I switched wheels out and lowered a little in the front. Drove it yesterday morning at 10am,and all three lights came on. Stopped turned the car off and turned it back on and all the lights went away. Drove the car at 6pm and the lights came on. Stopped turned off and on and the lights are gone. Don't know whats going on . The cables that I believe are the abs/ speed sensors are fine no rubbing on the passenger side the wire circled looked like it was at a weird angle but idk. Drove it this morning and no lights. No clue whats going on.

My son parked the car and I noticed the brake lights were on. After depressing and releasing the pedal a few times the lights go off, then 2 or 3 seconds later, they're back on even when the pedal is released. This happened all of a sudden. I'll pull the switch in the morning and test it, but what else could it be but the switch, right?

I have a 2012 Sonata for 4 years. In the past year I've experienced the ABS, Brake, TC lights staying on. Then had a bad battery and a headlight go out. Got all that done but after 4 months on new battery, it failed, and the 3 lights came on again. According to codes, dealer says the issue is a valve and they cannot give an estimate for repair but to tear down the valve and probe to find it, will cost me $132. That doesn't set well with me so I elected to drive on with lights on. They did say the battery & headlight issues were not related to the 3 lights staying on.

I have a 07 Sonata. Today, the ABS and ESC OFF lights came on. Everything was normal when I turned off the car and turned it on again (for a while) but then those lights came back on. Is it related to the STOP LAMP SWITCH issue? Would Hyundai honor the recall? [URl] .... If not, how to re-install a new switch?

When I press the brake pedal, the car will stop. But if I keep pressing it while the car is stopped, the pedal wants to keep going towards the floor. I have to press hard for it to do this. I have bled the brakes. I've checked the calipers and the hoses for leaks and don't see anything. The master cylinder is topped up and I don't see any fluid underneath it. It doesn't appear to be leaking. The funny thing is, when I turn the engine off and press the pedal, the pedal comes to a stop and doesn't want to move after I pressed on it as hard as I can.

My dad drives an '06 Sonata. And he recently broke a brake line and had gotten it fixed. His current problem is that his brake pedal hasn't returned after getting the line fixed. What can he do to fix that? The pedal is really low and is spongy. And his ABS and ESC lights are also on.

I have a 2007 Sonata GLS 4cyl. Anyhow lately my brake pedal is going right to the floor. The brakes seem to work fine, but if I keep constant pressure on the pedal it will slowly go all the way to the floor. My rear rotors and pads have been changed a couple of months ago and I'm pretty sure my front brakes are good. What could be causing this? I also checked underneath the car for leaks and there doesn't seem to be anything leaking underneath.

I drive almost all the time in stop and go traffic and my knee hurts because the brake pedal is too high. My wife also noticed that the brake pedal is unusually high. Is there any adjustment I can make to lower the brake pedal?

I have a 2009 Sonata Limited that would occasionally have the esc off light come on and off but only when it was hot out but recently it came on as did the ABS warning light and the brake system light and in some situations the cruse control won't work. I am the owner of a 2011 Hyundai Sonata GLS. It has approx 35,700mi to date.
Ive been apart of the forum for quite some time now. Ive been having an issue for a couple of months now with my Traction Control light being stuck on and intermittent flashes of the Brake light (as if parking brake were engaged) and ABS Lights simultaneously.
I'VE ALREADY HAD THE BRAKE SWITCH FAILURE RECALL PERFORMED. When i was having problems shifting and with my cruise control.
This all started this past winter during a bad snow and ice storm we had here in St. Louis, MO. I was on my way to work and the roads were slick with ice and snow. I was traveling no more than 15-20mph on a freeway and as i was approaching a light it suddenly changed to red and i had to slam on my brakes and make a swift right turn in order to avoid hitting anyone in the intersection. Ever since that moment, I've been stuck with these lights on in my dash.
Let me start this by saying I've done a couple of mods to my car. Hids, aftermarket remote start (professionally), aftermarket stereo, amps, new speakers all around, led lights inside, cup holder mod and led tail lights. That's all of my electrical mods.
Ive taken my car to the dealer several times for this problem. They tried hooking my car up to their code machine and they said the car wasn't communicating with machine and it was the first time they've seen something like this before.
They tried pinning the problem on my alarm and stereo. (as they usually do) They said it was a corroded ground. The dealer cleaned that up and said that fixed the problem. In actuality, it didnt. The issue still was there.
Ive had both the alarm and stereo removed to see if this were the cause my issues. NO...the problem still exists.
