Sonata NF (2006-10) :: CEL P2096 Fault Code
Got a cel yesterday, got it checked out it read a P2096 fault code. The car runs fine, cleared the code it came back later in the day.

View 6 RepliesSonata NF (2006-10) :: GLS Error Code P0011 - Camshaft Position Sensor Was Detecting A Fault
My check engine light came on the other day, and I went to Autozone to have the code read. Of course, that indicated the camshaft position sensor was detecting a fault. I read through all the posts relating to the fault, headed up to my local Hyundai dealer, and picked up the oil flow control valve for about $50 plus tax. While I was there, I figured I might as well have them do an oil change, since it was way past due. No point in putting in a new part with dirty oil..right? They did the oil change, washed the car and I was ready to roll. My plan was to replace the part myself, but magically, the check engine light has not come back on since.

View 7 RepliesLexus GS 2006-11 :: GS300 Engine Fault Code P2757 - Transmission Lagging
During low rpm cruise and light throttle acceleration below 2000rpm the transmission feels like its lagging or doesn't engage until after like a second or two after you press the gas pedal down. Been happening the past couple months and I would like to find a fix for it instead of buying a used trans or new trans.
Just picked up this code the other day as well.

Prius (2010-12) :: Getting The Code P0401
I have a 2010 with over 200k I am getting the same code.
I took out the EGR, the tube and the intake manifold cleaned them all..( was real bad) and am still getting the same code. Tech stream is saying egr flow insufficiency. Min 0.99 max 655.35 test value is 0.48.
Golf IV / Jetta IV :: CEL With The Code P0401 Came On
I picked up a 03 Jetta TDI about a month ago to use as a daily driver so I could park my Jeep. This is my first diesel so still getting used to some of the quirks and what is normal and what is not.
First problem is a CEL with the code P0401 - Exhaust gas recirculation flow insufficient detected. Now there seems to be a lot of information online about this and how to fix it and everything has something different to say. I live in a cold climate, its already -2 and going to get to -20 - -30 at some points so I'm not looking to to a EGR delete as my understanding is that it takes longer to heat up?
Next, being my first diesel, I'm used to turning heat on and driving for a minute and having heat. Not so much in the Jetta. It can idle for 20 minutes before I head out the door and its throwing warm air but the engine temp is a dead 0. Not until I get on the highway and drive for another 15 min do I actually start getting close to operating temp. Being its only about 0 celsius at the moment...
Other trouble spot is the steering, considering this thing weights next to nothing and has tiny wheels, it is about 4x harder to turn the wheel then it is in the Jeep on 35's. I also seem to get this shrieking/whining from the engine bay about 5-10% of the time when moving the steering wheel and the vehicle is under 5 km/h.

I have a 07 Sonata V6 that misses only when warmed up, runs fine when cold. code p0301 for cylinder one misfire, I have replaced the plug, coil and injector for cylinder one and still the same. idles and runs perfect when cold, dead miss on number one cylinder when warmed up.
View 1 RepliesAccord :: CEL On With P0401 Code - Insufficient EGR Flow
I recently purchased a 2000 Accord coupe v6 with 180k on the clock. I've noticed the gas mileage isn't what it should be. The check engine light was on when I bought it turns out it was a p0401 code. I was told at the dealership insufficient egr flow would cause the car to run rich. So I figured that's what is killing my gas mileage. Well after cleaning the egr port, replacing the egr valve, changing the spark plugs and changing the oil there is no improvement.
View 7 RepliesFord - Explorer :: 2005 - Got P0401 Code With CEL?
I have a P0401 code that just fired today. I tried to clear the code, but it came right back on the drive home. There are no drivability symptoms so far; just the CEL.
It looks like the DPFE sensor is part of the EGR valve on this model. Do the 401 code usually means that the EGR needs to be changed, or if there are other common causes of this code that I need to check? The DPFE sensor fixed the same issue on my Escape, but that was an easy $34 and 30 seconds repair. Looking for some 2004+ year owners' experience (I guess 2002 and 2003 models had the DPFE?).

Prius (Gen 3) :: Check Engine Light On And Code Is P0401
I've read many threads in here, but I didn't find problem of my car. It's Toyota Prius-3 2010, check engine light on and code is P0401. EGR Valve works well, I cleaned pipe, gasket, cleaned throttle plate and everything but nothing works.
I have (light on) it maybe 1 year or more, the light goes away and come back,I'm in Los Angeles and all they time is sunny day and weather is nice, I've seen 3 times, when i drove in rain evening and morning I didn't see light on.. then, couple days and comes again. I think maybe EGR cooler has to be replace? or I do not know why in cold weather time light goes away..
Ford Aerostar :: P0401 Insufficient EGR Gas Flow Code
My '96 4L developed the infamous P0401 insufficient EGR gas flow code 6 months ago. Rough running. Forgot to license it, now the St. Emissions Test was due before I could get new tabs issued. Finally got some warm dry weather to work on it. Started with the electrical measurements per DPFE graph of EGR flow vs electrical output to the PCM.
Showed the DPFE sensor failed, low V output max 2v. The old OEM aluminum body DPFE sensor was still in the old girl after 16 years. Corroded internally and ext., one hose nipple almost corroded off. Eureka. Put in a new Motorcraft plastic body upgrade. Same darn code.
Retested everything from the EGR vacuum valve that feeds the EGR valve to the new DPFE and then the EGR tube from the exhaust pipe. All tested ok electrically and leak wise. No fresh air leaks in the EGR V or EGR tube.
All pointed to restriction in EGR gas flow when PCM demanded it. Ran small stainless steel wire down the upper EGR tube line nipple to the EGR orifice trying to clear carbon build up, still the same P0401. Poured several cups of paint store acetone down each EGR tube hose with engine off and at 2k rpm to emulsify and dissolve the exhaust carbon out. Engine vacuum sucked the acetone up thru the EGR valve also cleaning it internally.
Let set overnight and took out for test drive. Still P0401. Almost ready to drive the green beast to the crusher of death.
Poured more acetone in the EGR and let set for 2 days prepared for the emissions station test failure then repair at emissions cert. shop with a shop waiver for no effective repair. Decided that the EGR tube or EGR valve were leaking fresh air, rusted and corroded. The end nuts on the tube were rusted away. EGR tube NLA from any source.
Went to the emissions test today and passed flying colors. NO P0401, drove all day on business. Got relicensed.
The old girl runs and drives like a dream, she's actually parked and sleeping in the garage tonight all pretty and shiny with a wash and wax job, got a reprieve from the Jaws of Death
Ford - Explorer :: 2008 - Got Error Code P0401 With CEL?
I have a 2008 Sports Trac, with a 4.0 SOHC engine ... 165k miles. Last week my check engine (CE) light came on and the code is P0401 ... too little flow on the EGR system. I first tried cleaning the existing valve - but CE light still came on. So I replaced the old EGR valve, cleaned the SS tube from the exhaust manifold back to the EGR valve and the CE light is still on. I have not driven the truck since I replaced with the new valve ... only fired her up in the garage. Is this something that could possibly clear up given a couple of miles?
View 6 RepliesWindstar :: 2001 - Code P0401 / Shudder Could Be Related To Vacuum?
Owned my 2001 Windstar almost 3 years and this is the first time the CEL has come on.
I just finished some big maintenance early last month. Trans fluid, engine oil, cabin filter, fuel filter, rear brakes, fuel injector cleaner additive.
While driving a short trip, a few blocks, we noticed the van shudder a little bit. I thought maybe something to do with the trans. It wasn't very noticeable but enough to cause the sensation of moving forward and back slightly. Sort of like experiencing a 4.5 earthquake that triggered 50 miles away while you are on top of a 4 story building. Enough to feel the sensation, but that's it.
Upon starting the car up again on our way home the CEL/MIL came on right away. Got home and ran my scan tool on it and here is what I got.

Could this be related to a vacuum issue? I had the top intake apart a year ago and the EGR ports seemed ok, maybe a little clogging.
Camry :: Check Engine Code P0401 - Insufficient EGR Flow
I just got a Check Engine light on yesterday. I went to Autozone and got an OBD-II Trouble Code: P0401, Insufficient EGR Flow Insufficient. The Autozone guy showed me an EGR valve for $164 and said it maybe blocked or something. I also checked with a friend who says that as long as the engine is not overheating it should be okay for driving for now.
So the far the car runs just fine, I haven't experienced any issues out of normal. Does the code mean the value need to be replaced?
Santa FE SM (2001-06) :: 2004 2.4l - Code P0401 / EGR Insufficient Flow
EGR insufficient flow. EGR valve was pretty bad looking seemed a bit sticky when opened so I replaced it along with gasket. Reset the computer but check engine light came back on code p0401 again. I know you can test by pinching the yellow striped hose at the throttle body to see if the solenoid is bad. The engine will stumble a bit when you pinch it closed, or so I am told. However when I pinch the hose, nothing happens. I do notice that the car does idle kind of roughly.

The MIL light on my Rodeo keeps illuminating with code P0401 "Low EGR flow". I had the EGR valve replaced and it ran fine for a while but came back on less than a week later. It was then found to have a leaking intake manifold gasket (which was still covered by warranty) but the code still came back on less than 24 hours later. This has been going on for about 2 weeks and no one around here seems to know why. What else would cause this code to be returned?
View 14 RepliesFord F-150 - 1997-2003 :: P0401 Code - Vacuum Lines?
So here's the background. I recently bought this truck. It's a 97 Ford f150 4x4 4.6l 99w vin code. Anyway Driving it home got a p0401. No problem. I Applied vacuum from other vacuum source to EGR engine stalls. So to me passages are clean in the throttle body. I checked to verify and indeed passages are clean. No while doing so I noticed no vacuum was making its way to the dose valve thing. Strange.... So took the line that runs to the passenger fender to dose off and it was impossible to blow air through.
So I cut out the clogged section found solder in the line. I filled the gap I now created using some 5/32 vacuum line reconnected to test and to my anvil still not vacuum. So I disconnected it again. Went directly to where the yellow/orange dose vacuum line connects to at the passenger fender and to my surprise no vacuum there either. No my question is. Am i suppose to have constant vacuum to the dpse or I'm I just being an idiot. And two if I am suppose to when the vacuum line runs into the passange fender where does it go from there and could I have a major issue in my hands?
Ford Excursion :: 2004 - White Smoke / Code P0401
2004 6.0 Excursion.. I had an issue with lots of white smoke. A p0401 code, then the smoke stopped. I removed the egr and cleaned it. All seamed good until two weeks later. Now I have smoke again. Its seems to be only after it is warm. Do I need a NEW egr valve?
