Sonata NF (2006-10) :: Dies When Switching From Forward To Reverse And Vice Versa
My sonata 3.3 dies when switching from forward to reverse and vice versa. Suspecting the fuel pressure regulator. Have seen conflicting sites saying its on the firewall and some saying in-tank. What else may be causing this.
View 2 RepliesPrius (Gen 2) Fuel :: 2006 Starts And Dies After 15 Seconds
2006 ... HV battery changed over 4 months ago and car ran fine until last week when the car just stopped and won't get ready. Before that incident, the vehicle was running fine all day, while he was returning from the days chores in the evening, it just stopped, dashboard all lit up. After a while, the car started again, and he was able to move it away to the side of the road...just about 2 meters and it stopped again.

I bought a 2009 Hyundai Accent used at 110.000Km. I've only been driving it for 3 weeks and today I went to start the car and it turned over and died right away. It did this a couple of times then it finally started fine and I was able to drive it. What it could be?
View 4 RepliesBuick - Lacrosse :: 2006 - Car Starts Then Slowly Dies Sometimes
I have a 2006 Buick Lacrosse with the 3800 Series 3 V6. It has 140K miles. Lately on warmish starts (after shopping for example) the car will start then slowly die (not all the time but a good chunk of the time). It starts fine when truly warm, and usually when it's cold it's fine too. It runs great otherwise. It never stalls or dies otherwise. The car has new plugs and wires, a newish battery, a new air filter and I cleaned the MAF sensor. I've only had the car about 6 months, and noticed the problem in the last couple.I scanned for codes and there are none, also there is no check engine light. The car doesn't have an IAC valve or a fuel filter (I know those are common culprits)But it starts easier when cold (even -20) than when warmish. Here are two videos I took of me starting it. *note the coolant temperature gauge. It's partially warm.

Accent MC (2006-11) :: 2007 SE - Horn Sounds As Car Starts Then Dies
Got a weird issue with my Hyundai Accent 2007 SE. Used my key fob to open the driver's door, no problem. Tried to start the car and the horn went beep-beep-beep in synch with the motor trying to start and then on the second attempt to start it, the engine would not turn over at all, nothing--just dead. A little while later my wife said she heard the car randomly going off, no pattern just beeping. She said she hit a couple of buttons on her fob and it stopped. I let the car sit for about an hour and then went out, unlocked the car driver's door with the key (not the fob), tried to start the car and there was no issue...it turned right over. What is going on?
View 2 RepliesSonata NF (2006-10) :: V6 Will Not Go In Reverse
I have a 2006 Sonata LX 3.3 V6 automatic and the car will not go in reverse. The car has 175K and runs like a dream. Drove today and everything was fine. Tonight it wouldn't go in reverse. The engine just revs like it's in neutral. The car works fine in all forward gears.
The + is lit up on the shifter and the "-" is not. I just thought the light was burnt out. I have checked the Tranny fluid and it appears ok. There is no noises or anything. The transmission is quiet. Is there a relay, fuse or some electronic component I should be checking?
Sonata NF (2006-10) :: Clicking Noise When Turning And As The Car Starts Accelerating
When I accelerate from stop the left wheel it like makes a "clicking" noise as the car starts accelerating, once in motion there is no "clicking". What might cause it?

Today I experience something new. When I start the car and go on reverse I hear a weird noise coming from the engine. It happened twice today.
View 25 RepliesSonata NF (2006-10) :: Jumping Into Drive From Reverse
I bought a 2009 Sonata V6 this past August. Immediately I had shifting problems. I asked my mechanic and he found the TSB. I took it to Hyundai and they took care of the TSB. The shifting problems stopped, but it is STILL literally JUMPING out of reverse when I'm going into drive. Dealer said they could not reproduce the problem.
I am a Toyota driver, and chose the Sonata based on price. So far, I am not impressed and plan to return to Toyota when this one is paid off. But, in the meantime, I want this car fixed, but the dealer acts like there is nothing wrong. I have warranty for another 25,000 miles....
Sonata NF (2006-10) :: Passenger Side Creaks When Driving After Cold Starts
Okay. So the past two days I went out to start my car to let it sit for a minute or two. When I went back out I heard a strange noise coming from the passenger side towards the front of the engine. So I got in the car and went to drive out. I shifted into gear and went to pull out and when I turned the steering wheel my battery light came on and the steering wheel got hard. Only lasted for about a second. Then while driving I noticed the passenger side creeks when I hit a bump. Also after driving and parking I noticed my car jumps around slightly at idle
I'll get a video of the noise tomorrow morning...
Also, I do have a custom cold air intake I built myself, and a custom built exhaust.
Sonata NF (2006-10) :: Shifter Will Refuse To Go From Park To Reverse
Well just as stated above...basically when I put my brakes on, my shifter will refuse to go from Park to Reverse. I have to open the little "Shift lock" cap and manually press that button to be able to go to reverse...or sometimes back from D to P. It just started doing this a week ago.

Sonata NF (2006-10) :: No Reverse / Check Engine Light Came On
My 06 Sonata 120k 3.3L Does not go into reverse. (automatic) Took it for a short (1/4 mile) ride. Shifted fine at first then check engine light came on and it seems to be stuck in 3rd? What this may be, I don't want to get ripped off on a repair I don't need.
View 4 RepliesSonata NF (2006-10) :: Front Brakes Only Squeal When Applying While In Reverse
2006 Sonata V6. Front brakes only squeal when applying them while in reverse. Happens all the time......cold/warm start, cool/hot weather, dry/humid air. Squeal is extremely loud. I have searched and found similar but nothing exactly like this. Pads and rotors are fairly new and I have removed them and reinstalled and regreased twice. I am using ceramic pads and have never used them before. Is this common with them?
View 8 RepliesSonata NF (2006-10) :: Transmission Whine Only When Pressing On Gas In Drive Or Reverse
So I have a 2006 2.4 sonata with a transmission whine only when pressing on the gas in drive or reverse. I just flushed and replaced the fluid and it is at the correct level. What I want to know is since the transmission has in internal filter, is it possible for me to clean it out to get rid of the whining sound?
View 8 RepliesSonata NF (2006-10) :: Parking Sensors Beep When Put The Gear On Reverse
When I put the gear on reverse, parking sensors beep even there is nothing behind the car! I tried to clean the surface by my finger!
The Last time that they worked pretty well was before I unplug and plug the power cable of my stereo system while battery cables were connected!
Can the problem coming from for that? How can I take the sensors out and clean them fully? Do you think disconnecting the battery for one minute can work?
Sonata NF (2006-10) :: Shifter Won't Move Past Neutral Into Reverse And Go Into Park
I have a 09' 4cyl automatic engine with 54k.
About 30min ago when when I parked the shifter would not move past neutral into reverse and go into park. I can go from D into neutral or the next slot over for manual shifting. Naturally this causes a problem as you can't take the key out of the ignition if its not in park.
I took a screw driver and popped open the cap for the shift release button and used that to move it into park. Turned car off, back on, etc etc seemed fine. So when I tried moving it into reverse and it wouldn't budge. It instead would make a electronic click or snap coming form the steering column but more back toward the engine. Like more into the dash area but back in it. It would make this noise every time I attempted to move it but it wasn't a continuous sound. Just once with each jerk to the side to move it out of park.
So the car works fine except for this. I used it with the screw driver/shift release to unlock it and it drives fine. Goes into reverse and back in park but if I move it into neutral or drive it will not go back into reverse or park.
Sonata NF (2006-10) :: 2008 - No Reverse / Limp Mode And Code P0733
2008 sonata 3.3, no reverse however the dash indicates it's in reverse. Code P0733. I understand how an unrelated problem can cause another and wonder if I can eliminated possible problems. Car is in limp mode and stays in second or third gear.
I am about to disconnect, clean and wiggle the connectors for the transmission inner and outer sensors and then find out if I can test the sensors. That is, after I find them.
I'm also on the hunt for anything the TPS sensor might have to do with it. Battery disconnect does not work, even after hours. Is there any way something unrelated like the brake light switch or the inhibitor switch (whatever that is), might be the cause? Valve body?
Sonata NF (2006-10) :: Auto Transmission - Spins And Make Whining Noise When Put In Reverse
I got a 2006 3.3l v6 sonata and for the past 6 month I have no had reverse which sucks let me tell you but I've looked into my codes it's throwing out. Anyway when I throw it in reverse it doesn't lock on it just spins making a kind of whining sound,
And when I'm driving it I take my foot off the gas or I slowly push the break it will jump down to third gear and get stuck I'll be doing 40mph at 4K RPMs, what this could be or what I should do?
Sonata NF (2006-10) :: Driver Power Seat Stuck In Forward Position / Will Not Reverse
I am able to operate my power drivers seat in all position except for reverse. My wife was the last one to drive and the seat is stuck in almost the full forward position. I can move the seat forward but not in reverse.
I've already looked under the seat for blockages along the railing and didn't see anything. I would try to remove the seat, but its positioned too far forward to access where I think the bolts would be. I did notice one unconnected wiring harness coming up from the floor under the seat, but it looks like it doesn't go to anything. Maybe its for models with heated seats or something because I don't have heated seats. My car by the way is a 2009 sonata GLS.
