Camry :: 2011 - Rattle Noise For A Second Or So On A Cold Start When Sits Overnight

I just bought 2011 Camry 2.5 6auto with 57k miles on it. The car make a rattle noise for a second or so on a cold start when sets overnight. I took it to the dealer yesterday and they replaced the timing gear assembly under warranty. This morning when I started the car in the morning it made the same rattle noise. I am going to take it back to the dealer next week.

My question is has any one had this rattle noise? if so, did the noise go away after the dealer replaced the cam gear? Also, Do you think this rattle will affect the engine in the long term?

Ford F-150 (2004-2008) :: 2007 - Whirring / Bearing Type Noise On First Start Up When Cold And Truck Sits Overnight

Ok, so my 2007 F150 Lariat super crew cab has been at the dealership for a week now with them claiming that a part is on back order. How hard is it for them to get in a right front axle?? Granted, it was in there for other stuff too (which they can not give me a straight answer on if they fixed or not cause they are claiming the technician hasn't done the write up on it yet). My main concern is that they are screwing me around or that something happened to my truck. I am planning on stopping by there on Wed. morning after I get out of work.

Are these trucks known for bad front axles or was there some kind of a big recall on them?

Other things it went in for was the radio having the CD's cycle through when you first start up the truck, but does not happen like that all the time. Black plastic driver side front door hinge is cracked exposing the metal reinforcing part. Whirring/bearing type noise when you first start up the truck when it is cold and sits overnight (which they claim they can't hear yet waited to bring the truck inside and check it out at 3PM when they had the truck overnight from the night before when I dropped it off.) and the front driveshaft not fully disengaging when the truck is in 2wd. Almost seems like the vacuum locking hubs are still engaged.

Santa Fe (CM - 2007-12) :: Coolant Leak At Hose End

I have noticed my 2007 SF V6's coolant is reducing at reservoir. I added premix coolant about 1 liter a month ago. Today I saw my driveway was wet, and this hose end was leaking.

I turned the spring clamp about 90 degree. but it's still dropping like 1 drop per 1 minute or so. Is this common issue? and how can I fix this?

Should I change the black hose? or change the same new spring clamp or change the spring clamp to a wider screw clamp?

Also, when detach the hose end, some amount of coolant will come out then, just adding premix coolant into reservoir for the max level is good enough? or do I have to bleed radiator airs?

Santa Fe (CM - 2007-12) :: Small Coolant Leak - Need A New Head Gasket?

Quick question, my 2007 Santa Fe with 3.3 has developed a small coolant leak. Every so often, I see a few drops on the garage floor and every 6 months or so I need to fill the reservoir with new coolant. So I took it in last Friday at a Hyundai dealership and he said that I need a new head gasket.
So my question is, is that correct? I did a search and most say that if you need a new head gasket, coolant would have leaked into the engine and oil.
When I changed the oil back in June, I don't recall seeing any foam or-or any indication that something is wrong with the oil. Even yesterday, I open up the oil cap and pull the dipstick, every looks normal. I assumed that not all head gasket problems lead to coolant in the oil?

Santa Fe (CM - 2007-12) :: Overheating - Coolant Leak / Reservoir Tank Empty

I was driving my 2008 Santa Fe last week (before I went on vacation) and noticed the the A/C wasn't coming through quite a cool as usual (almost felt like the vent was on w/ no AC). Then after about 10 minutes of driving I noticed the thermostat on the car get to about the 3/4 line pretty close to the red lines.

Luckily I was home so turned the car off and popped open the hood. I noticed the reservoir tank was empty and there was some coolant that dripped down on the fans & a small pool of coolant on the engine block right under where the oil is poured. (nothing has been dripping under the car)

I added a little coolant to the reservoir tank and the next time I turned it on and let it run for ~10 minutes, it was the same thing.

Anyway, I came back from vacation and opened the hood to try and identify exactly where the leak was, and ran the car for ~30 minutes, with A/C on full blast and the car didn't overheat or leak anywhere. Coolant tank was still full from when I filled it the first time.

What could have caused the leak/overheating in the first place?

Chevrolet - Cobalt :: 2006 Won't Start After It Sits In Rain Overnight

I own a 2006 Chev Cobalt with 133000 kms (yes I'm Canadian). About 6 months ago after the car sat over night in the rain, it would not start that morning. It would turn over and cough and sputter for afew seconds but not stay running. I had it towed to my garage. The car sat there for a while and when the mechanic got in, it started no problem. The mechanic tried hosing down the entire area under the hood to get the car to act up, but that didn't do anything. I took the car home and we all chalked it up as a fluk. Then a week later , after an over night in the rain, it did it again. Towed to the garage and it fixed itself by the time the mechanic got to it. This happened 3 more time.

CAA sprayed all the ignition parts with something like WD40, they even got a hold of another coil pak that I could borrow to see it that would solve the problem.... it didn't. They put it on a code reader and it read " Camshaft positioning (CMP) sensor circuit". But they ( my mechanic) told me that they just didn't know what to do next. They recommend another mechanic, but I haven't gone yet because I'm afraid that they will look at my car as a "cash cow". For now, to avoid this problem, when I know it's going to rain, I plug in the block heater, and put a desk lamp with a 40 watt bulb under the hood, then bungy down a tarp over the hood after I close it. I would like to point out that if I go to work and the car gets rained on all day (9-5) it will still start. It seems like the car has to soak in the moisture first.

Santa Fe (CM - 2007-12) :: 2011 - Oil Leak Under The Front Cover

Just took in my 2011 Santa Fe Limited for its 22,500 mile service (oil change). I was informed that it had an "oil leak under the front cover," and it needs to be fixed before it ruins the alternator. I will have to drop it off again for a whole day to have it fixed under warranty. The service rep also told me that this was not uncommon.

Santa Fe (CM - 2007-12) :: Hard To Start When It Rained Overnight

My Santa Fe was really hard to start this morning..it seems when it rains overnight it seems to spin and spin and spin and take some time to start.. Could a low voltage battery be in cause ?

When it starts, i see no loss in performance or any CEL that's come up and runs like it always did before.

Any quick tests that could be done before i take it back to the dealer for a diagnosis ? I have a multimeter so i guess i could check my battery voltage to see if it's the source of my problem.

Golf/GTI VI :: 2011 - Leak In Coolant Reservoir

Yesterday after getting to work i noticed a few drips from under the front of the car, at first i shrugged it off thinking maybe it was condensation or whatever. After coming back to my car about 5 hours later it had made a good sized puddle under the car and i knew something wasn't right. Well on my lunch i got under it and collected the liquid only to find that it was coolant. To make matters worse on the drive home my temp gauge would go to operating temp then drastically drop to almost cold temp.. weird. And last but not least when i parked the car at home i noticed that the cooling fans did not stay on after the car was off, since it was about 95deg this seemed wrong. Took the car to the dealer this morning and I'm hoping its just a loose pipe or something little and not anything that will keep it in the shop for a long time. Car is completely stock except for cat back exhaust, 12,000 miles on the odo.

Santa FE SM (2001-06) :: Large Coolant Leak On Top Of Motor

I just purchased a 2006 Santa Fe Limited with the 3.5l for a great deal. It has a huge coolant leak though that needs fixed. It is coming from the top of the motor on the left side by the timing belt. It is really a small flood, when you fill the coolant and turn on the motor it runs across the top of the motor toward the drivers side. There isn't oil in the coolant and it doesn't smoke. I had it dropped off at my mechanic though. Does the motor really need pulled in these to do the head? I heard that there is a overflow channel from the water pump that comes out right about there as well. Could that maybe be it? Any other options if it is the head gasket to reduce the cost any?

Santa FE SM (2001-06) :: Coolant Leak Under Bumper After Long Trip

Got a leak that just developed after a long trip. It's not big, but I am not sure what it could be? I see in front of the rad is a smaller looking rad, and in front of that behind the grill in the bumper is an even smaller radiator-radiator-looking box. I see two small hoses coming out of it, down under the rads but above that metal brace. Does that hold coolant? Or one of the other radiators?

Ford 6.7L Power Stroke Diesel :: 2011 - Coolant Smell But No Apparent Leak

I've been smelling coolant for a few weeks with no apparent leak. Walk out today, small puddle under truck. Coolant running/drip along seam of engine and trans right in front of downpipe on passenger side. Even with a mirror I can't see up far enough. Looking from top is impossible. What could be leaking up there? Turbo?

TrailBlazer :: 2005 - Low Coolant Temp Light / Gauge Sits Right At 210

I have been battling this for some time. The check engine light comes after a period of time from reset. I have changed the thermostat, temp sensor, coolant flush and added per MFG.

I am down to clutch fan. The temp gauge sits right at 210.

From what I can tell is the check engine light comes on because the engine reaches operating temp to SLOWLY. Im guessing because the clutch fan is spinning to early in the game.

Grand AM :: 93 - Gauge Is Down To Almost Half Overnight, No Leak

Just filled the darn thing 2 weeks ago and drove about 10 miles since. Got in this morning and the gauge is down to almost half. I've suspected I was losing gas somewhere but this confirms. Definitely wasn't stolen and the car was definitely not driven. No leaks either.

Sonata NF (2006-10) :: 2007 - Slow Coolant Leak

My son has a 2007 sonata v6, daughter has one too. Both have about 130K miles, and both developed slow coolant drip leaks. I took off both hoses on both cars, cleaned the crud from the housings and replaced with new hoses and clamps. Problems solved in daughter's car, not so in sons car. I note that it looks like the area below the thermostat housing is wet - and thought that was from the crud/hose situation. But he is still losing coolant, even more now that its getting colder at night, and I's sure its not the hose connection anymore.

The car will generally NOT leak when hot, only as/when it cools off. I.e. puddle in the morning situation.

Looking at the diagrams, it looks like that "housing" is really a connection to the crossover pipe, heater hoses, other stuff (throttle body heat) and also contains what looks like a temp sensor.

I suppose any of these are possible, but my first thought was either a leaky temp sensor (or possibly loose) or something more serious like a cracked housing, leaking o-ring, gasket etc.

Passat (B5) :: 1999 - Few Ounces Of Fuel Leak Overnight?

This is strange but every so often, my 99 V6 Passat decides to piss out a few ounces of fuel overnight while parked in the garage. I usually smell it as soon as I open the garage door and it is always in the same location, just in front of the passenger rear tire. It will smell gassy for a few hours that day and then miraculously clear itself up.

This happens every few months and there doesn't seem to be any pattern to it, ie; just tanked up, low fuel level, hot day/cold day/humidity/car driven hard the night before/driven conservatively. It is a head-scratcher for sure and I don't want the car to suddenly ignite when I am on the highway.
