Prius Plug-in 2012-15 :: Fuelly Won't Record High MPG

It's been three days since I topped off my tank in my Plug-In and I have been running almost entirely in EV Mode. Today, I had gone 153 miles so I topped off my tank again. The pump clicked off at 0.37 gal. I squeezed the pump handle two more times and got the gas up to 0.49 gal. That comes out to 312 MPG. When I entered it into Fuelly, it did not register the MPG. The last time it did when it was 112 MPG. I guess 312 MPG is way out of range of what Fuelly will accept.

Prius Plug-in 2012-15 :: 2014 - How To Set Up ECO Record Mode

Just bought a 2014 PIP Base and really want to set up that cool feature that tells you how much money you're saving compared to your old car. How to do it? I can't find the feature anywhere in any menu system nor can I find it in my manual.

Perhaps the answer is the PIP base doesn't have that feature?

Prius (2004-09) :: 2008 Gen II - ODO Meter Stuck / Does Not Record Or Show Increase In Mileage

I have recently noticed that the ODO meter of the car does not work i.e. it is stuck at the reading (57735 km) it was on when I got the car and does not record/show the increase in mileage. the trip A and B are working perfectly fine. I took the car to the local Toyota dealer but he has no clue what is wrong with it, the guy there suggested that ECU is working fine but the ODO meter is damaged and needs replacement.

I am not sure what the guy at the dealership suggested is correct because what i think is that if ODO gets damaged then the whole speedo meter should mal function.

Golf/GTI VI :: IPod Interface Is Insanely Slow

I have a 2010 Jetta Sportwagen TDI with manual transmission. I'm really loving the heck out of it with only one real mechanical issue so far (a faulty Turbocharger Pressure Relief Valve). However, the RCD-510 has a truly horrible iPod interface. It's insanely slow, often won't show its "busy waiting" greyed out screen when it is cogitating forever about how to do its job and it fades up the beginning of every song resulting in the first half second of the song being lost.

Given how bad this is, I'm hoping that there's new firmware available for the RCD510 to correct these defects. Or, if not, where can I go to file bug reports? It's not clear who the real manufacturer is. It's also not clear how to tell what version of firmware it currently has or how one would upgrade to a newer version ..

Golf/GTI VI :: How To Get Grouped Playlists Displayed In Audio Interface

I'm probably missing something but after tweaking around a bit I still don't see how to get my grouped playlists displayed in the (non-NAV) audio interface. What comes up are all the individual songs and I have to scroll down through them all to find what I want in a particular album/playlist. I'm hoping there's a "non-obvious to me but nonetheless easy" way to get it displaying album by album rather than piece by piece.

Nissan - Altima :: 2011 - CEL On / Diagnostic Interface Pinout Not Getting Power

My wife's 2011 Nissan Altima 2.5S threw a Check Engine Light. Runs fine, but we took it to Meineke for a free diagnostic scan. Problem: they said they couldn't get the diagnostic unit to talk to the car because the diagnostic interface pinout wasn't getting power through the #16 pin. They checked the fuses, but didn't go any further for diagnoses for why it would be doing that.

Phaeton :: Added Dice IPod Interface - Head Unit Malfunction

Looking for complete silence from the head unit. Is there a mute button or something I'm missing? I know pushing the volume button mutes it, but is there anything else that mutes it. I am going to reinstall cd changer tonight, to go back to factory setup to see if the sound comes back. I hope the dice unit has not blown an amp or something.

Prius (Gen 3) :: ICE Action With No AC Or Fan On

The engine is fairly hot after driving 2 miles in hot weather. Waiting a minute or longer for green light. No A/C or fan. Battery is 3/4 full (judging by number of bars). Windows fully open to cool the cabin. My foot is on the brake. The ICE suddenly starts and turns off at the same time. I had the car for near 3 years and this is the first time.

Prius (Gen 3) :: Can't Get Out Of EV Mode

Here is my problem. In the mornings when I turn on the car and begin to drive away, it operates as if it is in EV mode even though the ECO or PWR light is on. The motor (ICE) turns on as part of the initial warm up but it does not power the car on acceleration. I continue to accelerate enough so that it should ordinarily kick in the motor, but it is only electric powering my car and the battery quickly drains before I even reach the end of my block. I've tried warming up the car, pushing all the EV, PWR, ECO buttons randomly but the only way I've found to fix the problem is to floor it completely which finally starts the motor. Then the problem doesn't happen again until I start the car to go home after work. The problem is most evident in PWR mode where I can clearly tell that the motor (ICE) is not powering the fast acceleration.

Prius C :: ICE Always Comes On After Startup?

I understand that the ICE comes on to warm up the coolant and recharge the battery if low. However, in the middle of summer and with a full battery, my ICE still comes on even if I have just parked for a short while. Is that normal? I have heard that it doesn't come on for some people if the battery is not lower than 2 bars and the coolant should stay warm for a couple of days.

Prius (Gen 3) :: Why Does Warming Up Use So Much Gas

I'm relatively new to owning a Prius (just over a month now) and am loving it so far. I've also been lurking these forums for a while and love reading over the technical explanations of how the Prius works and all that stuff. There something that I've been curious about recently

As we all know, unless it's already been running/warmed up recently the ICE has to start up around 7 seconds after turning on the ignition (unless in EV mode). When it does, fuel consumption figures go through the roof (10-15L/100km - which equates to around 20mpg) which is obviously very high.

Now, I leave my Prius in the underground garage of my apartment complex which is basically about 20 degrees celsius (70 fahrenheit) year round, which is pretty warm. So I'm curious about a few things:

1) Why the engine has to warm up when it is stored in a warm environment anyway (a regular ICE car doesn't need to warm up - you can turn it on a drive off).

2) Why fuel consumption is so high when the engine presumably isn't actually doing anything other than idling (or is it??)

3) To improve fuel consumption, would it be better to start off in EV mode, and only switch to normal/ECO when I know I'm actually going to need the ICE such as when I enter the actual roadway (so the engine is never in use when it is not actually powering the car)? I know fuel consumption will still be higher than normal as with any car when it is first started, but wouldn't this at least save it turning on unnecessarily?

4) If it is better to do this, why does it need to 'warm up' at all?

Prius (Gen 2) :: 2007 Key Fob Went Wet

Rule one of key fobs: Never run them through the washer! they are never that dirty. Although if one contemplates the dirt factor of money, fobs can't be that far behind. The odds of all these years of electronic hardware in the pockets finally caught up to me. It happened.

Now my fob has lost its mind. It is randomly issuing "lock the doors" commands to the car, which makes it entertaining to travel with. Just for fun there are random intervals of behaving itself. This winter I leashed my fob in my parka. Couldn't risk losing that thing out in the fields.
