Prius (2004-09) :: Can't Unlock The Doors With Smartkey
…well, I guess it just had to happen sooner or later! I was out running errands yesterday, and when I returned to my car, found that I was unable to unlock the doors, so I tried the buttons on the SmartKey FOB all to no avail, so ended up using the mechanical key to unlock the door, and placed the FOB in the slot in the dash. I checked the FOB battery when I got home, and found it to be slightly less than the 3.00V, plus the fact that it was quite cold yesterday, so that might have been a contributing factor. I've not needed to replace the FOB batteries in the 2 years I've owned the car.

I just got a 2005 Prius with only one key. The key has always worked to start the car, but never worked to open the doors or set off the alarm. However, when I press a button on the key to try and open a door, the little red light turns on. Do I just need to replace the smartkey battery? Or is there something more complicated I need to do, like reset something?

I have read somewhere on here that you can reprogram your car so that when you touch the driver door handle to unlock, it unlocks all the doors. Can't find the thread now & can't find it in the manual. Looking for instructions how to do this or page number of the manual?

We're having trouble programming the keyless entry fob to unlock the doors. Seems that we can get it to open the automatic way (putting fob close to lock) but to lock and unlock using the buttons on the key hardly ever works. Is there someway to program through the MAF that im not seeing? (tried comfort settings) also tried resetting the key by unlocking manually and starting the car.

I purchased a replacement hella remote for my Passat. I have read countless websites and internet posts on how to reprogram the remote. All of which I have tried and none have worked. I know you need two keys and the FCC ID from the old remote must match the replacement. How to program the remote for a 98 passat? I know the dealer would do it but it is a ridiculous price for something that should take about 3 minutes to do.

I just had to replace a cluster for a customer due to the odometer light being out. I need to reprogram the PATS system in the ECM, I was wondering if there was a way to do this without having a IDS. I do have the AE with the FORD bundle, but its at home. My Snap On Solus wont do it.
I know you can do it with a GM by bumping the key every 10 minutes for 30 minutes...didn't know if there was a way around it or if the AE has the ability.

Is it possible to change/reprogram the "HIGH" temperature on the 2012 Passat SEL climate control? I generally like to keep the temperature a bit warmer during the summer than the climate control is able. The selected temperature changes to "HI" above 80 degrees and turns on the heater. What I would like is to change the point that the climate control rolls to "HI" by several degrees, say 85 degrees.

Just yesterday I bought a 2011 Prius II with 50k miles. I got a pretty good price, and the car is from a toyota dealership and is toyota certified.
I didn't notice when I was at the dealership, but when I was playing around with the car parked in my garage, I noticed the car gets quite noisy when then a/c comes on... Is this normal?????
Prius (2010-12) :: 2011 - Oil Is Leaking?
I have a 2011 Prius 3, just took in to get my tires rotated at 65k to an independent mechanic for the first time and he said they saw traces of oil but couldn't determine where it was coming from. They cleaned it up and want me to bring it back after driving it 150-200 miles to try to trace it.
My question is, is this typical for a 2011 Prius 3 with 65k? I had Toyota check everything when I bought the car at 61k and they didn't find anything wrong.
The mechanic did say it could be because of the cold something may have happened. Just want to make sure I'm not getting swindled here before trusting this mechanic.
