Prius (2004-09) :: Flashing Car Symbol On Dashboard
I bought a used 2008 prius about a month ago with 44,000 miles. Tonight when I went out to get something out of the car, I noticed a flashing light on the dashboard. It looks like a car but is flashing so quickly I am not certain. I can't find anything about it.

I have a 2007 Prius, package 6. It's always worked great, can't complain. I bought it in 2009 with 27,000 miles on it from the original owner.
I have always started the car by pressing the start button with my foot on the gas pedal. My key fob is in my pocket, I don't put it in the ignition key slot. I lock the car by pushing the button in the door handle from the outside. I unlock it by putting my hand on the door handle and pulling on it. My keys are always in my front pocket with nothing else in the pocket.
Yesterday, when I got in the car and pushed the ignition button, I got the symbol of a red key flashing with a line through it, seeming to be telling me I was trying to start the car without the key. I got my key out of my pocket and waved it around, and then the car started in the normal way, by pushing the ignition button, i put my keys back in my pocket. Went out, came back, everything seemed normal.
Today when I got in the car and pushed the ignition button, got the flashing red key symbol (and beeping sound) again. I got my keys out of my pocket and waved them in front of the dashboard but it was no dice. The car would not start. I put the fob in the ignition slot and the car then started. I went to my location, turned the car off, tried to turn it back on without the key in it but it still had the flashing beeping key picture on the otherwise dark dashboard. I tried to lock the car by pushing on the door handle button but there was no response. I opened the door and used the button on the inside of the door to lock the car and closed the door. i used the valet key, taking it out of the fob and using it to reopen the door. Pushing on the lock/unlock buttons on the fob had no effect.
When I got home, the car still would not respond wirelessly to the key fob. I got my spare key fob from the house and tried using it to start the car wirelessly. It had no effect.
I searched this forum and read about the button under the steering wheel. I went back to the car to search for the button. I saw the button, labeled with the word 'Key.' But before touching it, i tried starting the car keyless again, pushing the ignition button. It started normally. Everything worked normally, lock/unlock, ignition. Key fob not inserted into the slot. I decided not to do anything with the under steering wheel button.
I would like to ask whether this sounds like there is nothing wrong with the key fobs but there is some problem with the car internally.
Are there ways I can test that, by trying other things that would be affected by the battery, if the symptom comes back again? If there's an internal defect causing the problem rather than problem with the fob/s, would any of the causes be warranty repairs?
The car currently has about 67,000 miles on it.

Going down a steep hill tonight. Been running for 30 mins - all 100% fine. Was in 2nd gear - had selected it for engine braking. Suddenly got Engine Fault Workshop message - ABS warning light and flashing glow plug symbol.
Continued to drive fine. Definitely not limping! Came home and scanned it. First scan had ABS intermittent fault. Cleared all faults. Engine Fault warning in MFD has now go. Still drives fine only with annoying flashing light!

Gen 4 Prius (Audio/Electronics) :: Unknown Text Messages Receiving
I have a nexus 6 with the 7" Entune with Nav but non jbl unit. Everything works fine except everything comes up unknown for receiving text messages. I played around with the settings a quite a bit. Rebooted the head unit countless times using the hold down the power button for 5 seconds trick. Totally uninstalled Entunes and reinstalled and reconnected it to the phone again and did all the updates with no luck. It does read the messages and the phone displays the contacts from the phone fine but the contacts on the SMS aren't syncing together. Since they are unknown, I am unable to do any of the quick messages thru the entune system.

2 days ago, with no warning, my 2011 Elantra Touring wouldn't start. Just wouldn't turn over.
I noticed a dash light with the symbol of a key inside a car was on. It would stay lit up at all times except during the start up attempt - even with the key out of the ignition.
I looked it up and have been reading about the immobilizer. Apparently this might be my trouble. Problem is, how to troubleshoot.
Here is what I have tried so far (turn-key ignition)
- verified car was in park.
- tried to start in neutral.
- jump started the battery, even though it didn't seem to be a battery issue.
- left key turned to start position for 15 minutes, then tried to start it. This was recommended in a thread on a different forum for a similar sounding problem.
Will try to post a video of the dash during a start attempt in a few minutes.
Elantra MD (2010-15) :: Triangle Symbol Near Gas Pump Indicator
What is the little triangular thingy just to the left of the gas pump icon for? The only thing that I can figure is that it is there to tell you that the gas cap is on the left-hand side of the car. That is somewhat useful (especially if you have a new Elantra as a rental car), but only if you know that it is supposed to mean that! So is that what it is for?

I have a 2013 Prius with approximately 23000 miles on it. The TPMS randomly comes on flashes for a minute then goes Solid for about 10 minutes. On an average trip of about 100 miles or so it will go 3 or 4 times. I've taken it to Toyota to have them look at it, and they kept telling me that they couldn't find anything wrong and it has probably has something to do either with my tire pressure or my tire tread. I just did my 20K service appointment and they tried to tell me the same thing. after going back and forth with the maintenance tech, he finally admitted that the only hook up the car to the diagnostic machine when the light is actually on. After back and forth discussion I finally convince the maintenance tech to keep the car and drive it for a distance so they can see the light come on. The manual says if the TPMS starts flashing to have it looked at. But the problem is that the dealer won't work on it unless the light is actually on which is next to impossible since I'm always on the road when it happens. Has this TPMS issue ever happened to any other Prius owner?

I have a 2010 Prius IV. Yesterday, a new indicator started to flash after I turn off my car. It is an image of a car and lock. I checked in my manual and it appears to be related to immobilizer system. I have the smart key and it is flashing this indicator and beeping with both smart keys. I called a Toyota dealer and it sounds like it is just my security system activating after I turn off my car. The man said it was normal and it should have been doing this long-term. My car has never beeped and flashed this indicator until yesterday. Is it something I should be worried about? Does this mean my security system has never been activated until yesterday???

I've had my car for a couple of months, and noticed last night a warning light flashing in the car in the driveway in the dark. I got in the car and tried to identify the icon but couldn't- bad eyes, apparently, and it flashes too quickly for me to make it out. It immediately stopped when I turned the car on. I slammed on my brakes the other day because a car pulled out in front of me. When i let off the brakes i noticed the car did not move for a good 1-2 seconds and a traction control light was flashing. I didn't think much of it until i was sitting at a light and decided to see what happens if i press my brake pedals in hard again... the traction light turns on again and the car doesn't move when brakes are disengaged for a few seconds. Is this normal? It feels like my hill assist on the BMW. Why the traction light turns on? My car is a 2010 Prius III with 5k miles.

Had a warning flash up last night that I've not seen before. Had just done a reasonably long run from an airport with 3 burly guys and their luggage. Just as I was pulling up to their hotel the car did a continuous beep and flashed up the warning "Turn Power Off" and flashed the yellow triangle. When I was stopped I was in Park and it was still beeping and flashing this warning.

I have a 2011 Prius with about 42K miles on it. Today, I went to turn it on but the Check Hybrid System light came on and the car wont turn on. I can only put it in neutral. All the other lights are on as well. I have not had any recent service but the oil change notification did come on in the last few weeks. Also the low tire pressure light turned on yesterday but I didnt get a chance to fill them up. What the issue can be? Because it has such low mileage I cant think of any major issues it would have.

After driving for 2 or 3 miles my car turns on this red triangle and says "problem" on the GPS. All the threads i have found this is accompanied by a check engine light but mine does not. On the gps there is also a symbol that i looked up in the manual, it says to take the car to a dealer. is there any way to know exactly what this triangle means? There is not CEL tripped, tried 4 code reader and nothing.

So four lanes, divided, with a left turn lane, five lanes at the intersection. I'm down ~15 mph, maximum turn speed and one car is just clearing intersection and and +100 yards from next approaching slug of traffic. Keeping the speed, I make the left turn confident no problem then halfway through turn:
feels like a soft tuck
traction light flashes
already to straighten out
everything normal
This is the second time I've seen this in a year. Pavement dry, 48 hours since last rain; ~8:00 AM so rush hour is on. Before doing some parking lot tests, any clue about how to replicate?
My dashcam SD card did not play.
