Prius (Gen 2) :: Seat Belt Warning Chime Even When Buckled
I bought my second Prius yesterday and have noticed that the driver's side seat belt sensor is finicky. Please note, I don't want to turn the warning chime off. I know how to do that, and it isn't the solution I'm looking for. I wear my seatbelt always, but in case I do forget to buckle myself (or my passenger forgets to buckle up), I want to receive an accurate warning.
So, here's what's happening. Even when the seat belt is buckled, the warning chime will sound until the buckle is clicked in *just* right. Sometimes it works on the first buckle, sometimes it takes five or six tries to get it right. I've tried the basics (compressed air, checking connections), but neither provided any solutions. What's my next step? Can I buy a new buckle assembly (or just pull one off a junker)?

I've read that a few of you have disconnected this; So which fuse or wire do I pull ? Looks like it would just be a wire, as I don't see a specific fuse for this.

I don't have any problem with the seat belt warning before but recently for the past months the seat belt warning keeps beeping constantly, even when I'm wearing my seat belt. I just bought a ceritifed pre-owned 2010 RX 450h. I love it, but a couple of questions as I get to know the car.
1) The rain sensor seems to not work. I set the wipers to what on another car would be "intermittent" but the wipers never come on. Am I missing something, am I a dummy? Or should I just get the dealer to replace the sensor?
2) Any way to turn off the seatbelt warning chime?

Got the Airbag lamp on, so I checked the fault codes, it says that the resistance o the driver side seatbelt tensioner is to high. Is this just a oxided connection, a bad wire, or should I be prepared to change the tensioner-assembly in full?

About a week or so ago, my seat belt started making this "creaking" noise whenever it's buckled. All you have to do is move slightly in the seat or hit the smallest of bumps in the road and it creaks. I am delaying bringing it to the dealer because I'm sure they'll say they can't hear it. My driver's seatbelt buckle on my 2005 has become really loose. I thought the bolt had gotten loose but it's not, it's on tight. Looking at the parts diagram, there doesn't seem to be any spacers that would tighten the buckle.

2011 Four - I changed both the engine air and the cabin air filters this week. Since then I am getting random chimes. These are low in volume and are in no way related to the obnoxious beeps from the seat belt and reverse warnings. Some of these chimes start out like the familiar pattern that some clocks make prior to ringing out the hours. Some of the chimes are only 2 or 3 notes long. There does not seem to be any pattern as to when these chimes come. There are no indications on the display panel. I am stumped.

I've got some issues with my 2005 Toyata Prius (~150,000 miles). My wife was driving recently and the "Master Warning Light", the "Hybrid System Warning Light" and the yellow "Brake System Warning Light" all came on.
Some quick reading of the owners manual said we should take it to a dealer right away, but because it was a yellow, and not red, brake system warning light it seems ok to drive at least to a dealer. in regard to the yellow brake system light the manual said it could be that: "the regenerative brake system failed or that the hydraulic brake system failed".
Now, I have a cheap bluetooth OBD reader hooked up to the "torque" app on my phone and I thought I would try to see what error codes there were to learn more. But strangely, it did not read any fault codes. I've used this reader successfully on my 2001 Mitsubishi galant, but I'm not reading anything for the prius in this case. I'm not sure if there is legitimately no error code associate with the warning lights or if my app is just failing to read them for some reason.
