Prius (2004-09) :: Inverter Coolant Level Dropping But No Visible Leak
Just noticed my level is about an inch below the full mark, it was fine at the last oil change, no leaks that I can see....nothing on the ground.

Hot or cold? I just changed the fluid so should I adjust the level when cold? And with the pump off I assume?
View 1 RepliesPrius (Gen 2) :: Inverter Coolant And Transaxle Fluid Change
I just got a 2006 Prius and I brought to Toyota dealer to do a regular oil change. After that, been told that I'll need a Inverter Coolant and Transaxle fluid change in next maintenance point.
This prius already has 111,000 mile now.
Prius (2004-09) :: Put Transmission Fluid In Inverter Coolant System
My original intention was to replace the engine oil in the car. I was in a hurry(yes....I know) I could not find the oil drain plug. I did find a large bolt which turned out to be a drain plug for the inverter coolant instead. The instant the fluid drained from the car, I knew it was not engine oil. I did not know the drained fluid was inverter coolant. It had the color of a transmission fluid but significantly less viscous.
View 17 RepliesLexus RX 2004-09 :: Coolant Leak - Small Amount Of Red Fluid Leaked Out Of Radiator
I have a 04' RX 330 with 92k. It has small radiator leak. If you are standing in front of the car and look below the fan on the left side of the radiator you can see a small amount of red fluid that has leaked out of the radiator. However, the leak isn't big enough that I ever have to add coolant I just top it off when I get the oil changed. Also it doesn't puddle on the pavement when parked.
The only thing I really notice is that my windows tend fog abit easier now so I assuming the moisture must be making its way into the ventalation somehow. My mechanic said its about a $700 repair. My question should I fix it and is $700 reasonable. Also I've never had the timing belt replaced would it make since do have this done at the same time as the radiator. How long will it take before it becomes a major problem instead of a minor annoyance?
Prius (Gen 1) :: 2001 - Inverter Coolant Leak?
My 2001 Prius with 134k miles has been running great but leaves a small amount of coolant on the ground after parking. I've had to add approximately 8 ounces per 100 miles.
View 13 RepliesPrius (Gen 2) :: 2008 / Inverter Coolant Pump Leak?
I'm a new owner of a used 2008 Prius. Car only has 67K miles and other than the leak, appears to be in good shape.
I noticed the coolant was low in both reservoirs, filled it up (with the proper SLLC), but a day or so later the check engine light came on. Took it to mechanic (dealer is 2 hours away), he read and cleared the codes, then found the leak. Appears to be leaking where the lower hose attaches to the pump, so not sure if it's the pump or the hose that's the problem. I've also noticed that the pump seems a bit noisy for a few minutes after shutting off the car (of course, I'm new to the Prius so not totally sure what "normal" sounds like).
Prius (2004-09) :: Coolant Leak - Small Pink Puddle Under Where The Engine Was
My 2004 just developed a coolant leak. The past couple times I've moved the car, there's been a small pink puddle under where the engine was. The leak seems to be coming from a weep hole positioned between the two bolts of the lower engine mount. The hole is circled in red in both pics.
View 1 RepliesPrius (Gen 2) :: Red Fluid Dripping Under The Car - Hybrid Drive Coolant Leak
Or at least, I assume it's the Hybrid Drive. The service campaign to replace the inverter pump was completed on Friday. The Coolant Control Valve was replaced today (I TOLD THEM to have that part for the service on Friday, but I digress). I'm now seeing red fluid dripping under the car. It appears something wasn't tightened down correctly.
Given that it appears to be a slow leak, and I need to get the car back to the dealer to fix it (40 mile trip), should I make them tow it back at their expense, or is it safe to drive it that far? I have NO replacement fluid to add in the meantime, and if I recall correctly, that's a dealer only part.
Prius (Gen 2) :: Regular Coolant Blows Up - Inverter Coolant Runs Low
Inverter coolant runs low and also regular coolant blows up. Do they use one line together? Everyday I have to fill the inverter.

2006 with 58000 miles. Never noted overheat or leak on garage floor. Fluid level low in coolant reservoir. Dealer wants to replace water pump.
View 2 RepliesCoolant Leak - Level Is Dropping
Have a small coolant leak. The level is dropping and I can smell it but I cant find it. The radiator was new at 100K miles and the heater core is bypassed. No evidence on or near the hoses, water pump or radiator. Getting ready to replace all the hoses because they are overdue but I would like to find the leak(s) first.
View 5 RepliesLexus LX 2008+ :: Small Leak In Washer Fluid System
My 2010 LX with approx 140K miles has a very small leak in the washer fluid system somewhere. (We think). Every 1500 miles or so I get the "Low washer fluid level" warning sign. Never got it in 6 years, but now it's every 1500 miles. Dealer could not find leak. (Maybe it leaks to slowly?) I hardly use the washer fluid, but it's annoying to override this message every time I start the car.
View 2 RepliesElantra XD (2001-06) :: Coolant Level On Reservoir Low But Fluid Is Full Under Radiator Pressure Cap
I checked the coolant level on the reservoir and it was low.
I decided to add coolant by removing the radiator pressure cap, however, the coolant fluid is full under this cap.
So my question is where should I add coolant? through this cap or the reservoir?
Ford 7.3L Power Stroke (1999-2003) :: Oil In Coolant / Oil Level Drops But Coolant Level Stays The Same
My friend bartered for a '99 F250, 2wd/auto, 4 door, 7.3, 258k miles.
It had reportedly sat for one year, though the expired registration sticker and other things point to it sitting for two.
It ran low on oil, sputtered and died. Oil in the degas tank. Filled to oil to mid way on the hatch marks on the dip stick.
I drove it 25 miles to my house, and the oil level is not reading on the dip stick.
The sludgy fluid level in the degas tank is unchanged. Where is the fluid going?
I will refill the oil to see just how much it lost in the 25 miles if it important to someone, but I prefer to not waste the oil.
My first plan is to remove, inspect and replace the oil cooler o-rings. Even though the dealership charged him for this, I don't trust that they did it right. I think it is the easiest and mostly likely place for oil getting into the coolant.
It does have a really long crank before there is enough low pressure oil for it to start. At the moment I think this is a separate issue.
The dealership also charged him for a replacement injector. No idea if they replaced the cup or not.
Toyota - Avalon :: 1995 - Small Leak Of Power Steering Fluid
My '95 Avalon with 120K miles drive & handles like a Lexus. Had the power steering pump replaced 18month ago. Still has a small leak of power steering fluid. Which lines are likely to leak and how much should it cost to correct this in Colorado?
View 1 RepliesFord - Explorer :: 2010 V6 - Coolant Leak - Level Goes Little Down?
I have 2010 explorer. I have to add almost 200 ml of coolant in my reservoir every week. there is no sign of a leak from anywhere even at thermostat manifold as well. but one question, when the car is running for at least 1 hour, the coolant level at reservoir shall be around FULL HOT Level and when car cools down overnight, it should be at around FULL COLD LEVEL. is it right? if yes, then my level remains little more than FULL COLD when the car is hot and when it cools over night, level goes little down than FULL COLD. like this every week I have to add almost 200 ml of coolant. radiator CAP is okay and I replaced it few months back. no apparent sign of leak. any clue what can be reason?
View 2 RepliesGolf IV / Jetta IV :: Small Leak On Automatic Trans After Fluid And Filter Change?
I had a small leak on the side cover of my trans so I decided to replace the gasket and take the opportunity to drop the pan and change the fluid and filter. However now I seem to have a pretty significant leak from the trans pan itself. The side cover seems ok.
The filter and gasket kit I purchased was a Wix brand. I don't have a torque wrench, so I just tightened to Germain torque spec (gutentight). However now I worry that maybe it's not the right spec, either too tight or too loose. The kit came with new spacers for the gasket and I cleaned the pan, especially around the lip where it interfaces with the rubber.
GTI 337/20th Anniversary :: 2003 - Small Coolant Leak?
2003 Jetta Gli seems to have a very small coolant leak. The leak is small enough that I don't even notice a puddle on the ground the light on the dash told me it was low. It is the Vr6 motor. Also I don't know if this is the right forum for my car the title says 2004.5 Gli mine's an 03. If this is a big deal just let me know and I'll delete this post and go else where.
