Prius (2004-09) :: Dash Displays Brake Warning And Red Triangle
We're on a road trip and the alarm tone goes off. The dash displays the brake warning and the red triangle (and the touchscreen has a car outline with an ! in the upper left). Also, the cruise control no longer operates. We return to El Paso and the dealer utilizes several hours and two diagnostics to tell us the Hybrid ECU needs to be replaced. Unfortunately, they can't get our Prius back to us until Monday, the day we are supposed to be back home starting work the next day.
We plan to call the other dealership in town in the morning. But is it safe to drive our Prius in this state? Can a regular garage make the repair? My father-in-law, an automotive repair professional back in Missouri, says that he isn't surprised if an ECU needs to be shipped from a Toyota distribution center since the part isn't regularly kept in stock by an auto repair shop.
Prius (Gen 3) :: 2011 - Dashboard Displays Triangle With Exclamation Mark / Hybrid System Check
I have 2011 prius 1800cc.
My car dashboard display come ORANGE TRIANGLE WITH EXCLAMATION MARK light and message "HYBRID SYSTEM CHECK". Car has no problem in drive, every thing works but display computer (check consumption graph Charging wheel etc.) does not show.
When I press start, display button shows charging graph consumption etc, only for few seconds and go to msg check hybrid system.

I placed my key in ignition and tried to start it just cranks over. Dash displays the triangle with arrow around it. I thought i remember reading some where a while back about that meaning something to do with key immob.? but now my R is out of omission.

My CM will only display in metric (as opposed to US) standards, regardless of how much, how often or when you push the button to switch between US and metric. In addition the ODO no longer displays the correct millage and flashes constantly.

The navigation screen on our Gen III displays numerous small dots or "measles." They are white dots with red centers. On main roads they appear regularly along the route. On back roads they appear more randomly. Is this normal? They do not seem to affect the operation of the system.

My 2006 has 121000 miles and started acting strange in March. I drove it to the dealer and it died. After the dealer ran the diagnostics test they gave the code for "bad cell 5" and "replace battery". The dealer wanted way too much so I had the car towed home and installed a rebuilt battery this week (my car set for almost 2 months). After putting in new battery it wouldn't start due to the 12v battery being dead. So I replaced the 12 v battery and now it still will not start but all of the displays work. I am getting the red triangle, the check engine light and the "exclamation in the car" on the main display. I don't know if this has any bearing on the problem but I did find the dealer had removed one of my spark plugs and left in under the hood. I re-installed it before attempting to start to car. Also, the water pump that has been recalled is still on my Prius and hasn't been replaced (would this effect the vehicle starting?

So all I wanted to do once I got my new Prius was set up the bluetooth. What a nightmare! Got the phone to recognize the car. Tried to upload the phone bock from my blackberry and all I got was a display saying "talking" . I waited and waited and gave up after 15 mins as I only have 50 names in the book. Now the radio isn't on when because this stupid "Talking" is on all the time. When I verbally dialed a number I tried with the 1 at the start, then without, but the area code and then no area code, and still no dial....
I have had the car 5 hours and if I could pick it up and throw it I would.
Gen 3 Prius (Audio/Electronics) :: Nav Displays Wrong Time Zone
I Am in the UK in time zone (GMT +0) i noticed this morning on the Sat Nav that my estimated arrive time was an hour forward of where it should be.
eg it was 8:10 the journey 35mins to go and it was showing on the left hand side of the screen arrival time of 9:45. only when i went into the Nav settings and changed it to (GMT -1) that it showed the right ETA but surely i shouldn't have to do that.
Prius (2004-09) :: Gas Gauge Indicator No Longer Reliably Displays Fuel Level
My daughter texted me today to inform me that her gas gauge indicator no longer reliably displays the fuel level. She's filled it up 3 times this week and the gauge still shows 1 bar. There are no other display anomalies: the speedo and other indicators appear to be normal. This 2008 has never had the combo meter changed and it's out of warranty since it's a salvage title.

I purchased a second set of rims and tire pressure sensors from the Tire Rack for snow tires on my 460. Since installation, the tire pressure display on the dash only displays the pressure reading by wheel if I stand still long enough before driving. If I do not wait long enough before driving, the pressure will not be displayed and will ultimately display the tire warning symbol. My first thought is the Tire Rack sold me the wrong sensors, but they insist the Pacific 315 MHZ sensor they sold me is the same as Lexus uses.

On last trip in '13 RX350, I changed the Nav display from hours and minutes to destination to "Arrival Time." It showed the arrival time for about 30 seconds and then immediately reverted to the minutes enroute to my destination. I changed it at least a dozen times but each time it reverted to the minutes left in my trip.
Since I'm 200 miles from the nearest Lexus dealer, I can't just drop by and have them check this out.
Prius (Gen 2) :: ABS, VSC And The Red Triangle Came On
I left home and got 1/2 mile down the road when the ABS, VSC and the Dreaded Red Triangle came on. I've cleaned the battery cooling fan (Big Dogs) recently and the dealer changed the Inverter cooling pump a few weeks ago. It is working as I see fluid moving in the reservoir. When I power up the car, the Battery cooling fan comes on within 30 seconds high speed. I've never heard it run on high speed before. When I put my hand in front of the cooling outlet I feel hot air.
The car has 182K miles on it. The charge screen shows the battery about 1/2 full.
The starting battery is original but has never been a problem.
Lexus GS 2013+ :: Tire Inflation PSI Randomly Displays Dashes For A Brief Moment
Does your tire inflation psi reading ever randomly display dashes (-----) for a brief minute or so when first starting the engine before actually displaying the psi reading? I've had this happen a couple of times for no apparent reason that would prevent normal TPMS signal operation, but within a minute the dashes are replaced with the actual psi reading. I'm just wondering if this is a somewhat normal event to have happen from time-to-time.

I am unable to connect to a 2005 Prius. I have an Actron CP9190/CP9185 Elite Autoscanner. I have used it many times on other cars and many other Prii but it won't connect to this particular car. ( I have a small car lot and keep 8-12 2004-2009 Prii in inventory) I tried 3 other Prii that I have on my lot and they connect immediately and power up but this one won't.
When I first got this car in it had some lights on and I hooked it up and it worked intermittently. I had to hold the connection just right or I would lose connection. This car had some aftermarket Bluetooth or GPS system that was removed before they traded it and I had my mechanic remove the bird's nest of wires next to the OBD connector that weren't connected to anything. This was about a month ago. This car is a 2005 with 129k.
I had the battery rebuilt before I sold it. The new owner has put over 2000 miles on it since. Now the CEL and triangle are on again and I am trying to see what the codes are but can't connect. Is there a fuse that powers the connector? or is one of the pins a power supply?
Prius (2001-03) :: Red Triangle Came On?
The red triangle first came on when my parents were driving my 2001 a few months ago. They described lack of power, etc. As the car was several hundred of km/miles away, I didn't have a chance to see it for myself until it got towed back (as they no longer trusted it to navigate through the mountain passes with several medium to long steep hills between the two cities) a few weeks ago. When I took a quick look myself (not a mechanic myself, just basic observation), the battery would drop "1 bar" with only very moderate use and quickly gain 1 bar or 2 when charged by the engine. Basically, the battery level is dancing between full, 3/4 full, 1/2 full, and 1/4 full continuously.
Mileage: 226000 KM / 140430 MI.....
Passat (B5) :: Brake Warning Light Flashes, Stop Displays On The Instrument Screen
2004 Passat GLS 1.8t 5 spd. This started last week. It is very inconsistent, but I seem to have it happen more when it's cold out. Sometimes I am coming to a stop, just leaving from one or could be doing 30-60 mph - truly no rhyme or reason. Anyway, the brake warning light flashes, the cluster beeps loudly 3 times and it says STOP on the instrument screen. It then changes to "brake fault" and then "service manual". After that cycle, everything goes away and it usually won't do it again. One time I had it do it 3 times back to back. Brakes work fine. I have good pad depth. Fluid looks like I should flush it, but level is fine. I scanned w VAG-COM and found no faults.
