Touareg :: 10% Error In Speedometer Reading?
Does the Touareg have the 10% error in speedometer reading like my GTI does?

My car (jetta 2002 1.8t) have the error code p0501 even if the speedo is working. I replaced the speed sensor just to make sure.
If I erase the code, and drive no matter how far/fast I go, the check light doesn't turns on. But as soon as I turn of the car and drive again it does comes on.
Ford F-150 (2004-2008) :: Speedometer Error / Reading 2 - 3 Mph Faster Than GPS
On the way home from my first weekend trip in my '04Screw, I noticed the speedometer did not agree with my GPS, which was sitting ontop of the dash. The speedometer was reading 2-3 mph faster than the GPS.
The truck was taching about 2,000 rpm .. speedometer read 72-73 .. and the Garmin III+ GPS read 2-3 mph less than the truck, tracking 8 out of 12 satellites, and varied between 68 and 69 mph.
My Lariat does have 18 inch tires. I don't have a clue if that caused the difference.
Dodge - Caravan :: 1987 - Change Of Tire Size And Speedometer Error
I have an ' 87 Dodge Caravan cargo van that came originally with 195-70-14 size tires. I recently got for free, a like new set of 205-75-14 tires that I put on to replace the worn old set. My question is how will this throw off my speedometer, say at 35 mph or at 55-65 mph on the highway?

View 4 RepliesFord - Explorer :: 1999 - Speedometer Way Off At Low Speeds / Correct At 70 MPH
1999 Explorer Sport 4L 6 cyl SOHC ... Don't know if this is strange or not. My speedometer reads about 5 mph high at 20, 4 mph high at 30, 3 mph high at 40, 2 mph high at 50, 1 mph high at 60 and is finally correct at 70. It's a perfect linear relationship. I've verified this with a handheld field GPS as well as several phone apps. The tires have always been the stock size of 275/35R15.
View 3 RepliesFord Excursion :: 2000 - Speedometer Is Off By 10 MPH At Freeway Speeds
I have a 2000 6.8L V10 Ex, and I'm currently working through the last thing on my "to fix" list. The truck has 37" tires (Nitto Mud Grapplers), and at freeway speeds the speedometer is off by 10mph. If it reads 60mph, I'm really going about 70mph.
I thought the solution was to order an SCT flash tuner, so I purchased one with tunes from 5startuning:
**1. SCT 7015 - X4 Flash Device with Choice of 5 Star Tuning Custom Tunes - 5 Star Tuning
I choose the correct Revs per mile for my tire (560), but the speedo is STILL 10mph off at 70mph.
No changes that I made to the tire size or axle ratio made any difference. It always read the same amount off. The SCT X4 flash tuner wasnt able to change the speedo on the 2000 Ex's.
[URL] ....
My question is this: If both of those tuners plug into the exact same port, and use the same parameters, why is it my X4 tuner can't change the speedo, yet this other tuner is able to? It doesn't make any sense to me. If the X4 truly cannot change the speedo of certain model years, there should really be a disclaimer about it. Feels like a bit of a rip off since the only reason I purchased it in the first place was to correct my speedo...
Camry 2012+ :: Cruise Control And Speedometer Show Different Speeds
I just got a 2015 XSE a few days ago and I'm loving it. Yesterday on my way to work the cruise control was working perfectly. But then on my way home, I noticed my digital speedometer was reading 69 mph even though I had the cruise control set to 70. I waited about a minute to see if the car just needed some time to accelerate. Nothing changed.
So I pushed the cruise control stick up to try to increase the speed. The cruise control number went up to 71 and the speedometer went up to 70. Then I pushed the cruise control stick down to try and match the speedometer. That didn't work either.
No matter what speed I'm at, the cruise control is always 1 mph faster than the speedometer.
I looked around the intertubes a bit and found some Tundras with a similar issue, but nothing on the Camry. It annoys because the car has just under 500 miles on it. Can the speedometer and/or cruise control be recalibrated?
Toyota - Prius :: 2005 - Constant Roaring At 35 To 50 Mph
2008 Toyota Prius about 45K miles, just did 3Kx2 Cross Country, and now I notice a "roaring" constant sound from about 35 - 50 mph. Seems to subside at higher speeds, although this may just be that the sound is being drowned out by freeway noise (and radio!). Mileage has remained consistent, and no performance issues observed. Maintenance is current. What this could be?

I have a 2013 Prius 4. I'm not sure if there is a problem or not but the heater just seems to blow the same temperature of air no matter how high I set the temperature. The air feels lukewarm. I was driving 60 miles yesterday with the temperature set at 76. I had on a long sleeve shirt and polar fleece jacket and it never got to where I was really warm. Outside temp was about 50.

When I drove my 2012 Prius 3 today, the fuel indicator was flashing as I had about 20 miles until empty. I was on my way to get gas when suddenly, the horn was honking as if the alarm was going off. Nothing I did seemed to stop the horn, even clicking the unlock button on the key fob. Intermittently, the horn would stop, then start up again in a stuttering fashion, only to be followed by the incessant honking I mentioned earlier. I have a video of this but it must be too large to upload.
View 6 RepliesPrius (2004-09) :: Blower Doesn't Always Run At A Constant Speed?
I normally run my climate control in manual mode, and I notice that my blower doesn't always run at a constant speed. I know that if you use the Auto setting the fan will change speeds, but I didn't think it should do that if you are using a manual setting. Is that right?
I was thinking I would make an appointment with the dealer to check it out. But didn't want to do that if this is normal behaviour.

View 12 RepliesPrius (Gen 2) :: Charging Voltage (READY Mode) Constant Or Varying?
The few times I monitored the 12V charging voltage with ScanGauge during driving it has been very stable at 14.0 ~ 14.1V for almost one hour worth of commuting time. Someone from another board commented that his charging voltage varies up and down and he suspects the charging voltage adjusts itself depending on the 12V battery SOC, and thus my battery may be so weak to require continuous charging at 14V.

View 2 RepliesPrius (2004-09) :: Constant Variable Humming Noticeable When Driving Over 40 Mph
I was sure it was a wheel bearing I'm at 198k miles. I replaced all the wheel bearings in the car and the noise still persists. The old bearings were definitely in need of replacement so I'm fine with that.
Neighbor mentioned my rotors looked warped and they may be vibrating the calipers but the they don't seem to vibrate harder under heavy braking. There's no vibration through the steering wheel.
When I did the front bearings the CV boots are still holding up. I kinda busted some of the dry and cracking boots around the tie rods and ball joints but that's for another day.
Anyways, I run winter tires all year round being in snow belt and they are cheaper. Wear is worse on the front tires outside edges from cornering and I'm gonna replace and go for an alignment soon.
It has to be something that is spinning on the car from the noise I'm getting. Worse at higher speeds, constant variable humming.
