Gen 2 Prius (Audio/Electronics) :: 2007 - Slow Navigation Especially At High Speeds On Highway
When I am driving, especially at high speeds on the highway, the Navigation System on my Prius runs pretty slow. As the GPS icon is traveling, the movement is very choppy. It is not a smooth transition. Is there any way that I can fix this?
View 1 RepliesAccent LC (2000-05) :: High Pitched Squeaking Under The Car At Very Slow Speeds
I drive a 2002 4-dr 1.6 L Accent and there is a strange, high-pitched squeaking that comes about from somewhere under the car at very slow speeds (30 mph or below). If I hit the brakes, the noise continues sometimes as the car slows. (The noise isn't the brakes, though, I know that), but if I hit the gas pedal slowly, the noise stops. Whatever is vibrating underneath doesn't seem to be causing a problem at high speeds. Or I just can't hear it.
Secondly, I am going to try to do some tune-ups for the summer for lack of better things to do, mostly, I can pretty much do anything (intake/exhaust, engine, electrical) as long as I can find detailed instructions.
Dakota :: 2000 4.7L V8 Overheating In Idle / On Highway At High Speeds And While Driving Slow
I drive a 2000 Dodge Dakota Sport w/ 4.7L V8 engine. I have been dealing with an overheating problem for about 6 months now and have nearly exhausted all hope of correcting the issue. It has been in the shop on 4 separate occasions and seen 2 different mechanics. The radiator has been replaced, the thermostat and thermostat housing have been replaced, the radiator fan works properly, hoses have been replaced and no subsequent leak has been found by either mechanic, they haven't mentioned the possibility of a blown Head Gasket (nor has the typical "milky residue," shown up in my oil cap). Each time I got it back from the shop the problem was fixed for about two weeks, then returned and slowly got worse.
It overheats in idle (with the fan running), on the highway at high speeds, and while driving slow. Sometimes it only gets about 3/4th to the red (usually when its cool at night) and sometimes it will hover just below the red; while I'm doing everything I can to keep it from hitting red (defrost on, revving engine). Some days it takes a little while to get hot and some days it happens very quickly. I'm tired of sinking money into the vehicle but as a recent grad I don't have the money for a new truck at this point. Suggestions included heater core clogged, water pump gone bad, fan clutch.
Honda - Cr-v :: Intermittent High Pitched Whine At Slow Speeds Or When Totally Stopped
My car started whining a couple of months ago. It is intermittent, at slow speeds or totally stopped. It's a high-pitched whine that sounds like a small dog yelp. I can't make it happen and can't discern a pattern as to when it happens except that if it occurs once one day, I'm likely to hear it a few more times that day. It sounds like it is coming from the right hand side, perhaps from underneath the car. I've taken it in to the dealer who checked it over. Of course it didn't make the noise for the mechanic. The dealership said they have heard this complaint one other time by an owner of a high mileage CRV. They are not able to determine the cause. My car is 2002 and has 172,000+ miles.

Your breaks yet? Mine are starting to get really annoying, that high pitch noise at slow speeds with just a slight touch on the break peddle. To give an idea of loud, I have hearing loss from my job in the military and they are starting to bother me.
View 13 RepliesPrius (Gen 3) :: Possible To Engage P At Slow Speeds (3 - 4 Mph)
I noticed by mistake that its possible to engage "P" at slow speeds (3-4 mph?) Even at slower speeds the experience and effect was scary, its not like an emergency brake or hand brake stop but like chaining a dog to a stationary hook while running. Electronic and mechanical wise, whats happening when you push the "P" parking button. And why the Prius engineers allowed to set engaged other than just absolute stationary?
View 19 RepliesFord Excursion :: Odd Noise On Slow Acceleration / Deceleration
Ok - I admit, I don't have a good description of what's going on, but it's not normal. When I accelerate slowly, or go up a hill, I'm hearing a "rattling" sort of noise that did not used to be there. I have heard it also when slowly decelerating.
I need to crawl under and look, but my big concern is I'm about to go on a 2000 mile trip with a small horse trailer. Could this be a festering major engine, transmission, or otherwise problem?
Pontiac - Solstice :: 2006 - Lurching On Deceleration When Slow Down To Come To A Stop
When I slow down to come to a stop, my 2006 Pontiac Solstice lurches. Sometimes this is very scary as it is a hard lurch, sometimes it is just a slight lurch. The engine light is on. I have taken it in for this problem previously and the problem goes away but it has been acting up for the last few months.
View 1 RepliesGolf/GTI VI :: Clicking On Acceleration / Deceleration At Low Speeds
Last week i started to notice that my gti clicks on moderate acceleration, and again if I let off and using engine braking. I can only hear it with the windows down, and it seems to be coming from front of the car. My first thought is that the axle bolts might be loose, or I have a failing CV joint. I re-torqued to 70nm, and could not budge for the 90 degrees after that. So, they are tight - possibly too tight?
I've read a bunch of threads on relay clicks, etc., and do not think that's whats going on here. I'll double check tomorrow, and see if it's the 1000 rpm relay click. What this might be, or how to definitively know whether it is / is not the CV's? I'd be fairly surprised if the CV's are dying - I do not drive this car hard or beat on it at all, and generally keep it out of boost around town.
Details on car - '10, MT, about 30k. Koni coils at about 24.5" ftg, APR stg II, B&B TBE, all with about 15k on them.
Honda - Civichybrid :: 2003 - Lurching At Low Speeds Especially On Deceleration
My 2003 Honda Civic Hybrid has lurched for over a year now. The dealership has run tests and can't seem to figure it out -- though my budget has only allowed them to take a look at it 2 or 3 times.
Things I know:
* lurches are accompanied by RPM fluctuations
* only lurches at slow speeds (under 30 mph?)
* only lurches on a slow, steady deceleration -- does not lurch in acceleration or quick deceleration
* dealership replaced O2 sensor; had no effect
* Jiffy Lube flushed oil and (I think) transmission fluid systems; had no effect
* previous owner did not perform regular maintenance; missed oil changes, etc.
* lurching seemed to get really bad last summer, getting progressively worse until the car died on the road. The nearest mechanic said I was out of oil (which surprised me because I had changed the oil maybe 2 months prior?
)* lurching can be minimized by turning off AC/heat
Things that MIGHT be playing a part? seems like it gets worse in summer heat. Definitely still happens in winter though, so this may be my imagination.
Prius (2004-09) :: Dips From Left To Right While Driving At Slow And Highway Speeds?
Purchased one owner Prius from Honda dealer May 2014 with 92000 miles.Now 2 months later 94000. Both service departments of Honda and a Toyota dealer said my car handles normally for a Prius.The car dips from left to right while driving at slow and highway speeds. It feels like a boat moving through water. The suspension was said to be good.Driving it feels unstable, like a Montero Sport or a stage coach. I wanted to do a lot of driving this summer, but this feels so uncomfortable.
View 5 RepliesPrius Plug-in 2012-15 :: Standard Pulse And Glide At Slow Highway Speeds
I'm talking basically about the equivalent of your standard pulse and glide in the regular Prius. But the PiP would allow you to do it up to 62 mph. However, you would manually have to toggle the HV/EV button to do it. It would be tiresome.

Prius Plug-in 2012-15 :: High Engine-off EV Speeds In N
I was doing some N coasting, mostly because it's a pain to try to keep regen at 0, and I noticed while the engine will start idling in drive at ~64mph (62mph GPS I imagine), the system indicates it'll stay off above that if I stay in N in EV mode. On the plus side, it can make for some higher speed engine-off coasting, but do that could push MG2's speed too high?

Prius C :: 2013 - Whirring / Humming Noise At High Speeds
I noticed it a little after driving for days on very snowy/slushy/gritty roads where I had to plow some parking spots with my little 2013 C3. A little vibration felt through the wheel.
View 7 RepliesPrius (2010-12) Fuel :: Pulse And Glide At High Speeds
Correct me if I'm wrong - Pulse & Glide is not really possible at speeds higher than, say 120-130km/h (74-80mph). I have noticed on my last trip that if you want to keep 130km/h average and you pulse up to 140km/h and glide down to 120km/h, when "gliding" the engine never shuts down, and the glide period is very short.
When pulsing back to 140km/h it takes a "long" time and the instant fuel consumption is "high" (e.g. 6-7L/100km) while when "gliding" you are actually at 2-3L/100km, which means on average you are at about 5L/100km, which is what I would get in any case if keeping speed constant with the CC at 130km/h.
