Camry :: 2005 - High Idle Current Draw?

I have a 2005 Camry XLE v6 that has been draining down the battery lately. I checked the idle current draw and found its about 320mA. What the general range should be? I took the reading with all doors closed (no lights), engine off and nothing switched on except the systems that require constant power.

The car has an aftermarket radio (Pioneer AVIC D1) installed (which has a line tied to the constant power source). At this setting, I suppose only the clock and the security system should be ON, but shouldn't those systems draw very little power? ... I looked through the Hayne's manual but couldn't find anything about idle current draw.

Prius (Gen 2) :: Car Won't Show Ready And Go Back To Parked / Warning Lights On

I recently (two weeks ago, actually) bought a one owner clean car fax 2007 Prius with 125k after totaling my 2004 - I got the 04 cheap enough that the payout covered the new one. The car ran perfectly; quiet, no whining or grinding noises, etc. About a week ago, the check engine light came on. The next day, I got in it to drive to school. I get to the middle of my campus and it starts to lag (very similar to the way my 04 did when it needed a new hybrid battery cell). I pull over and turn the car off and back on since that used to be what would get me home in the 04.

Every single warning light came on, including the master one. My "BRAKE" warning light is also on even though the e-brake is not. The car would not show "ready" and would go into park, but if I tried to shift into anything else, it would pop into neutral. (The dash as of now is shown below.) This is not user-error. I have driven a 2nd gen Prius before, I know about pressing the brake down when you start it. The garage I had to get it towed to has no idea what to do with it and each Toyota dealership I called told me that they hadn't heard of before.

I bought a new 12V and the garage said it didn't make a difference, but I'm not entirely convinced they even tried it.

Prius (Gen 3) :: 2010 Would Not Start - Ready Light Does Not Come On

The 2010 Prius in our garage would not start today. I tried jump starting it with the 12 volt in our van, but the light on our smart jumper cables would not light up on the Prius side even when I switched them around. I followed the manual's five minutes revving and such, but the ready light does not come on in the Prius. There is enough power for the inside lights to come on, but they are dimmed. I'm thinking we left the lights on in the back seat dome area based on what my daughter told me. The car has not been driven for about 65 hours.

Prius (2010-12) :: MG2 Rumble / Vibration When In Ready Mode With ICE Off

I am still getting used to my new Prius, just have a little over 700 miles on it. I recently noticed something very strange with the car - if I am in "Ready" with ICE off, and I put it in drive and release the brakes, but do not press the accelerator, the car will slowly move forward, just like a regular auto transmission. After about 1 second the speed will reach about 2 mph and I can feel a very small rumble in the cabin and a very light vibration on the steering wheel. It sounds like a very low frequency bass, and it lasts for less than a second.

It goes away and the car continues to accelerate up to about 5mph (the accelerator is still not pressed). This sound is almost unnoticeable, and it does not happen if I release the brake and immediately press the accelerator, it only happens while creeping forward very slowly. I was able to make this sound/vibration last longer by "riding" the breaks and keeping the speed around 1-2 mph, it is very faint and I have really listen to it. To me I believe it is caused by some resonance/harmonics in MG2 turning at extremely low RPM, at least it "feels" somewhat "electric"...

Prius (2010-12) :: Ready Light On Whole Time On Dashboard

I noticed on the way home the "ready" light was on the whole time. I've never noticed it staying on before but maybe just didn't pay attention to it. Is it supposed to be on continuously? What exactly is it for?

Prius (2010-12) :: Green Ready Button Would Not Light Up - Low 12v Battery?

I've got a 2010 Prius w/ NAV. Yesterday morning, my Prius would not start. When I pressed on the brake, the green "Ready" button would not light up. When I pressed the start button, the NAV screen came on as did some of the dash lights, but the car engine itself was not on. When I hit the start button again, I had a yellow triangle on the left side of my screen that continued to blink.

From reviewing the forum, I believe that the issue is the 12V aux battery. I was able to get my car into maintenance mode, and the 12V battery was reading 8.6V; however, this was after my car had sat in the garage for 10 or so hours. However, by going into maintenance mode, I was again able to get my car to start. This morning, I drove my car to work (about a 15-20 minute drive). After I got to the office, I turned the car off and got back into maintenance mode. This time, it was reading 11.6V on the battery.

Am I correct that this is most likely an issue w/ the 12V battery going bad on me? I purchased my Prius in July 2010, and I have never changed the battery. It sounds like the "typical" lifespan for the battery is right around 4 years, so this seems to make sense.

Prius (2010-12) :: Green Ready Light Does Not Come On - Car Won't Start Like Normal

I have a 2010 Prius that I bought in January. No problems until this morning. Here is the situation...

I get in my car, step on the brake, mash the start button and nothing. The green ready light does not come on, no key detected does not come on, nothing. However, if I take my FOB, and place it by the start button, the ready light will come on and it will start.

I thought it could be a battery issue but, this happens with both FOBs...

Prius (2010-12) :: Ready Light Doesn't Always Come On When Power Button Pressed

This started about 2 months ago. About 10% of the time when I depress the brake and press the Power button, all the dash lights come on except the Ready light (it acts as if I pressed the Power button twice without my foot on the brake). When I depress the brake a second time and press Power button again, the Ready light will still NOT come on. I have to press Power button with foot off the brake to shut off the dash lights (the car is effectively off) and then when I press Power button with foot on brake a second time, the Ready light will come on. I effectively have to try to start the car twice. I also noticed that the interior lights are dimmer when I open the driver's door until it goes through it's normal noisy gyration (something to do with the brakes?). I'm thinking that the 12-volt battery is starting to fail. Does my Gen III 2010 Prius have a diagnostic tool to check the battery?

Toyota - Prius :: 2010 - Dashboard Lights Up But Ready Light Doesn't Come On

Since I purchased my 2010 Prius new, it often won't start. As instructed, I press the brake, push the power button for a few seconds, and hope that the ready light will come on. Typically, the dashboard lights up but the ready light doesn't come on. It can take ten minutes or more to get the car started. This happens when the car is cold, or has been sitting for a while, or randomly at other times. The Toyota service department will only address the problem if they can replicate it. I've left it at the service department for a couple of days until they experienced the problem. They reset a computer component which worked for three months. Now the issue is happening again and I'm back to trying to convince Toyota that it's a problem.

Prius (2010-12) :: High-pitched Electrical Humming Sound From Hood In Ready Mode

My Prius IV with about 10K miles started to emit a high-pitched electrical humming sound under the hood when it was in Ready mode. It did not have this sound before. I opened the hood and found the sound was coming from somewhere around/under the engine area. I want to know if this is normal on Gen 3 Prius? I have seen post on the same noise in Gen 2 Prius but the posts (thread) stopped without a resolution.

Prius (2010-12) :: Car Died After Parked For Sometime

So, I went to a hotel tonight and gave my car (2010 Prius II) to the valet. When I came out about 4 hours later, a different valet guy said they had a problem with my car and that it had no power. But, somehow, they were able to drive in reverse and park it near the entrance. This must have happened shortly after I left the car with them.

The car would not start, but a dash light was blinking that looked like an outline of a padlock (it was blinking too quickly for me to tell). Also, strangely, the vents were blowing air (albeit, at a very low setting).

Someone with the hotel came out with a battery charger and we hooked it up to the terminal in the front engine. As soon as the battery was attached, everything in my car lit up and I was able to start it up.

Prius (Gen 3) :: 2010 - Hum Sound Coming From Rear After Car Hit While Parked

My 2010 Prius was hit while parked. The left side was wiped out and the whole car was pushed sideways about 2-3 inches, with the parking brake on. Toyota checked out the car and said everything looked fine. But there is this odd sounding humm coming from the rear of the car. Toyota says that is normal. Is this true?
