Prius (2010-12) :: Door Lock / Unlock Malfunction - Won't Lock Properly
Recently, I've been having issues with my door locks. When exiting the car, and pressing the door lock on the outside handle, I would here the door lock solenoid fire once, then open, and the door would not lock. Same thing would happen when I used the FOB. The door would not lock. On occasion, I would get the door to lock, and stay locked by using the door lock inside the car when the door was open.
On the occasions when I did get the door locked, I then had issues unlocking. If I approached the drivers door to unlock the door, the car would just keep repeatedly beeping, and would not unlock the drivers door. But, the back door would unlock, so I could reach in, and open the drivers door from the back.
Prius (2004-09) :: Brakes Were No Longer Working Correctly - Lock Up
So my auxiliary battery started dying and I had to jump start it when it was dead. One dark morning I reversed the cables on my wife's car when jumping it. The portion on the Prius that I had hooked up the cables to started glowing. I unhooked them, and when I got inside my car I noticed several warning lights on (ABS, etc). Once I got the car started I drove to work, but the brakes were no longer working correctly, and if I hit them hard they would lock up and I would skid, with tons of white smoke from the tires. I took the car to Toyota, but they wanted $550 to replace the auxiliary battery and run a diagnosis. They said they could not run any computer tests as the car's auxiliary batter was too low.
So I ordered the battery. In the meantime, the brakes wore down to metal on metal on the front driver's side. I took the car to Firestone and they wanted $850 to replace the pad, rotor, and caliber, which they said was stuck. I then put the new auxiliary battery in the car myself (it was relatively easy) and took it to Toyota. They said the ABS relay needed to be replaced. After waiting two days for the part to come in, I then get informed that the skid control ECU needs to be replaced, at which point they will "recheck as necessary with diagnosis." After doing some googling, there is some indication that the problem might not be the skid control ECU.

What would cause the rear drum brakes to lock up upon hard braking? I have replaced the wheel cylinders, installed new spring kit, and adjusters.

Initially when I start driving, the brakes work just find. But it seems as I use the brakes, the front brakes build up pressure and slowly start to lock up. They don't lock up completely, but they do cause a significant amount of drag. The rotor, calipers, rubber hoses and master cylinder are all very new. I'm thinking maybe the issue is with the master cylinder and am considering going to get one along with a brake booster(since it doesn't have one currently).

My rear brakes lock up constantly. It doesn't matter how easy I am on the peddle. The ABS goes through it's test on start up. Afterwards, the light goes out. The vehicle sat for quite a long time. I pulled the rear drums and inspected for rust and brake shoe condition. There was no rust to be found and the shoes seemed to be in good shape. I've read on here about some shoes retaining moisture and causing the same thing. These 'seem' dry. I've also read that it could be the RABS. Is there any testing to determine if the RABS is definitely the problem other than by-passing it?

The thumping starts at as low as 5mph and never stops. There is also vibration that I can feel through the foot well. Tire shop says the tires are cupping. All suspension components were original. So I figured at 150k they need replacement.
Last weekend I went ahead and changed all 4 struts out with KYBs. Of the 4, front passenger side was completely seized, others were sill working. It still has thumping sound and also the vibration although a bit less than before.
So should I change other components - UCAs, LCAs, ball joints? I am assuming tires need to be replaced, but I don't want to replace those only to find out those are shot in a few months because I didn't changed other worn out parts.
Prius (2010-12) :: Won't Start Or Lock - Keeps Beeping
I've never had an issue with my 2010 Prius except for an occasional need to jump the battery after leaving a light on. Today after finding I left the interior light on, the car wouldn't start. I assumed the battery had drained, but then something strange happened. The car would not fully shut off. The starter button shows a red light and there is a loud continuous beeping sound even when the door is closed. Additonally, the car will not lock. When I foreceably locked the doors, they unlock right away. The yellow exclamation point warning light on the left side of the dash is on as is the malfunction indicator light that looks like an engine.
I tried to jump the 12volt battery through the charging port under the hood and got absolutely no response at all. And the continuous high pitched beep is still going after an hour.
Prius (2010-12) :: Brake Lock-up After Switching On
Earlier this year I did a very hard stop to avoid an accident. The stop caused the brake lights to be locked on, such was the force I applied in my 2011 car. Toyota replace the brake light switch, but since then there has been an intermittent issue that has been impossible to invoke and continues despite the brake booster having been replaced (after I made a fuss and complained to Toyota HQ).
It most often happened after I'd been driving then left the car parked for 10 minutes to an hour with the power off. I'd get in the car, depress the brake pedal and press the power button. When I did so, the brakes would become rock hard and, if the car was put into drive, would roll forward. The only way to stop the car would be to take my foot off the brakes and re-apply them.
Ford F-150 (2009-2014) :: Vibration - Truck Shakes At 5mph And At 40 / 50 Mph
Bought a brand new f150 45 days ago.The truck shakes at 5mph and at 40/50 mph. Have had it to the dealer 4 times. Twice they changed a tire and balanced the rest. The truck also doesn't shift properly which they say is normal. It is a supercab with an 8 ft bed,told it is characteristic of this vehicle and they refuse to do anything further to it.
Filed a complaint with Ford Motor and he contacted the dealership,the service manager told them that it does shake and that it runs better than some and not as good as others. REALLY!!! So the resolution is that they gave us a premium extended warranty,with no fix. The problems are classic drivetrain problems and they won't even look at it. I don't know what to do next. I can't even trade it in without taking an 8000.00 hit.

I have a 2010 Prius and noticed that lately I sometimes have to press either lock or unlock several times before the little black and red switch moves to either lock or unlock.

I let a friend drive my car for the first time today. Before today I always had a key with a slash through it that blinked until I started the car. Now that has disappeared and the hybrid lock indicator light is on instead. My friend left the car on, by mistake, while she went into the store. She tried repeatedly to lock it, and of course it wouldn't. Did this change something in my indicator lights?

I can't seem to lock my driver's side door via my key fob anymore. It locks all the other doors. When I press the lock button, I can hear the other doors lock and no beeping sound. There is a light blinking on my dash according to the manual the accessory mode light is blinking. I How do I shut it off? I've turned the car on by pressing the power button and pressing the brake then shut if off normally by pressing the power button.

just got a 2010 Prius (Australian base model), and looking for information on how to turn off the beeps when locking/unlocking the doors. I've found info on turning off the seat-belt warning beep, and changing the reversing beep to single by using the OBDII connector, but nothing on the CAN bus codes needed for the lock/unlock beeps.

I have a Toyota Prius 2012 type 2 and I did install a vip 3200 Plus alarm system. My question is that why is the automatic lock not working? I park the car, get out, and close the door but do not lock the car. After 5 minutes, the automatic lock system is not engage or the alarm system does not arm.

I cannot lock my prius hatch door. It will shut but the lock does not engage. Apparently the lock is broken. Can I order the part and have a mechanic friend do it for me as Toyota want to charge $200 to install it. The part from Toyota is $210.
