View 9 RepliesPrius (2004-09) :: Some Unusual Wear On The Inner And Outer Tire
I decided to get an alignment (for the first time since I took delivery of the car). I noticed some unusual wear on the inner and outer tire. I will post a before and after pic of the alignment. As you can see they were unable to correct everything.
The shop says that the prius does not have any way to correct camber in the front nor was there any way to correct the toe in the rear.
I cannot think of anything that would have messed up the rear left. The shop was saying these repairs will need either a new control arm or strut.
Prius (2004-09) :: Tire Pressure Warning Light Came On
This sensor came on, I filled the tires up to 35 and it went away. A few weeks later, I decided to air the fronts to 40 and the backs to 38 PSI. The light came back on.
View 5 RepliesPrius (2004-09) :: 2005 - Unusual Tire Wear
I have a 2005 Prius with 128,000 miles. At the last service the mechanic pointed out that the front tires were wearing significantly on the outside. I had them do an alignment but the before numbers were hardly out of spec. Everything was in spec except the front right camber - it was right at the limit (negative). Everything else was perfect. I would have expected only significant positive camber on both sides would cause both front tires to wear on the outside, when everything else was in spec?

View 10 RepliesPrius (2004-09) :: Leaking Tire Replaced, TPMS Light Came On
I had a leaking tire replaced and my TPMS light was on. I proceeded to go ahead and reset the TPMS system after checking the pressures. The light blinked slowly 3 times, but then blinked fast for quite some time before turning solid again.
After pressing reset button with 3 slow blinks, what does it mean for the TPMS light to blink rapidly for a minute or so before turning solid.
I highly suspect that the guy changing my tire either damaged or did not reinstall my TPMS sensor. Im kicking myself for letting them touch my car since they are so shady.
Prius (2004-09) :: 2008 - Tire Pressure Light Keeps Coming On
I just bought new tires on my 2008 Prius. The tires are the Bridgestone Ecopia's ...
My problem is that the tire pressure light keeps coming on. I have checked the pressure individually and everything seems fine there. I have also taken it back to where I purchased the tires. They have tried to reset the TPMS sensors on each only to have the light turn back on after about 20 miles. My concern is that the sensors went bad or were damaged during installation. I asked about this and was told that the batteries on the sensors are fine. Their reasoning for making this determination was that in the reset process all sensors responded very quickly. If the batteries were going bad on the sensors, then it would have taken a long time for the sensors to read their computer. The tire guy also said that if the sensors were damaged, they would not respond at all. Since all responded, they should be okay.
