Prius (2001-03) :: Changed Engine Now Shakes - While Going Uphill CEL / Triangle Go On?

Engine Poor power

I changed the engine for my 2001 Prius ( imported used from Japan ). The engine used to shake few seconds after starting then shuts off. The Mechanist did many things, including changing the Spark Plugs, fuel injectors, adjusting the Timing Belt sync, Cleaning MAF, Updating ( Or Upgrading the soft ware ), Adding fuel Injector cleaner with the Fuel.

Now the engine shakes . It stays on, then runs fine. But when I go up hill the Check Engine and Triangle go on. There are no codes. it only says Engine Poor power.

Toyota - Echo :: 2001 - Struts Leaking After Less Than 10,000 Miles

my mechanic thinks there is a problem with the car's frame. Alignment testing showed the front right wheel sitting just behind the position of the left front wheel. He thinks he can fix it. Is that why the struts are leaking so quickly? or could there another reason?

Prius (Gen 2) :: Any Other Part To Replace Along With Struts?

After reading up on things to do for maintenance, I've decided to replace my struts around the 95k mile mark.

While I'm down there, is there anything else I should replace/do while the wheels and struts are off?

I've read some people talk about replacing CV joints as a preventative measure, others about bushings but most seem content with just the struts.

i am the original owner of a 2004 Prius with about 120k miles. I am considering replacing the struts even though they aren't horrible. I figure I won't have the car more than 240k miles so might as well get the struts on earlier rather than later so I enjoy them as long as possible.

I'm looking at replacing the struts and shocks in my 04 Prius. Last time I replaced them with some cheap KYBs I found on auto parts warehouse. I was hoping for an improvement over the old worn out parts, but didn't feel an improvement. Well after 5+ years and who knows how many miles I figured it was time to replace them again.

I just replace front struts- 125,000 miles.

Needed for probably 4 years. Def. fixed some issues but I still hear rubber squeak when I turn corners at slow speeds. Sounds like something needs lube. Any thoughts? 2007 Prius.

Santa FE SM (2001-06) :: Changed Alternator - Car Bucking And Popping

I just changed the alternator in my 02 2.7l and now it is acting like it's not charging the battery. It's bucking and popping like before I changed it. I had to jump the battery and it drove fine for a while then I lost all power and no dash lights or anything. All the warning lights came on also. The headlights were dim and the car was bogging and bucking. I checked the ground and the battery is about 2 years old. Tomorrow I am going to get the battery checked and scan for codes. I also just replaced the starter a month ago. What could be the cause of this?

Accent LC (2000-05) :: 2001 - Changed MAF Sensor Now Engine Stutters

I have a 01 Hyundai Accent, 1.5L, stick shift. My CEL came on and I had it read. Mechanic told me it was P1128 (Fuel Lean) or something like that. Looked it up on line and everything said to check for air leaks and then look at the MAF Sensor. I checked and saw no leaks. Took out MAF Sensor and cleaned it with MAF Cleaner. Disco'd battery to reset computer. CEL went out for maybe 30 minutes and then back on. Didn't do anything with it for about 4 months, now car stutters sometimes.

So, I finally broke down and bought MAF Sensor and replaced myself. Disco'd battery to reset computer. Started up and engine was not smooth at first(30 seconds) then smoothed up. But CEL still on. Drove home (25 minutes) and checked again this morning. CEL is off! Only problem is that the car stutters a little at acceleration. Smooth when at cruising RPM and speed. Just stutters a little at start of acceleration and when switching gears until at cruising speed. Is this going to go away? Is the computer just getting set up after changing MAF Sensor?

Celica :: 2001 Crank Slowly - Changed Battery But After 1-2 Seconds Engine Dies

2001 Celica, battery dead after seeming to crank more slowly each time it was started during the day (wife was driving). I disconnected the battery to charge/test it, after reconnecting it started immediately but after 1-2 seconds engine dies. RPMs can be coaxed up to 3,000 in that time, but even though it seems to be running fine it shuts completely off, no coughing or sputtering. Won't start at all unless key is turned off and then back on, then it will do the same as described above.

It's giving a P1300 Igniter Circuit Malfunction No. 1 error code. Possible causes listed are:

- Ignition Coil No. 1 harness is open or shorted
- Ignition Coil No. 1 circuit poor electrical connection
- Faulty Ignition Coil No. 1
- Faulty Engine Control Module (ECM)

Seems to me a lot like the last, the ECM.

Santa FE SM (2001-06) :: Slow Acceleration And Rough Idle After Spark Plugs Changed

Here's the run down:

-bought 6 months ago for cheap because it wouldn't pass smog test
-changed Purge Control Valve (PCV) and it passed
-filled with gas, heard popping noises like a backfire, and coded it read the same "Bank 1 and Bank 2 running lean, like it did before the PCV and then also "Cylinder 3 Misfire" appeared.
-At this point the car started running rough, at idle, and through acceleration...sputtering uphill, and when climbing through the gears.
-Changed the plugs & wires
-NOW, it's cylinder 5 misfiring, and not nearly as bad. It's idling and running rough, acceleration has somewhat come back, but it's definitely not 100%.

Should I start with the PCV again, since it's not starting after I fill the tank, and climbing gears slow? Is there anything else I should be checking?

Passat (B6) :: Changed HID Bulb - Warning Light Came On

I had my Passat (2006) for a couple of weeks now and this message comes up on the dash warning: "AFS inoperative". The bulb failure light was flashing as well. I have the bi-xenon lights.

The L/H bulb was changed and the warning and the bulb failure light is still there, but both headlights are working now. The major drama is that the lights are now dipped and at night we can only see about 20m in front of the car. The lights don't do the start up dance as normal.

Golf V R32 :: Oil Changed Still Got Oil Level Warning Light?

Just did an oil change on the R32 and while the oil level looks fine (if anything a little high at the moment) we can't get the oil level warning icon to stop blinking on. I don't get it. We have level up to where the manual says it should be but the icon will not stop blinking on and off.

Ford 7.3L Power Stroke (1999-2003) :: 2001 - Changed UV Harness / OD Flashing But Running Great?

Had to change the UVC harness on my 2001 7.3. Truck fell out. Trailered it home and changed the UVC harness on the passenger side. Truck is running great, but now the OD light is flashing. Can't read transmission codes, but was wondering if something from the bad harness could have caused this? Any thoughts?
