Accent MC (2006-11) :: Humming Noise That Gets Louder As Speed Increases

Starting at about 30mph there's a humming noise that gets louder as speed increases. It doesn't seem to change if I am steering right or left and i have no steering wheel shake or any sort of noticeable bumping at 60mph. Could this just be my tires making noise, they are quite worn by now.

Lexus RX 2004-09 :: RX330 Rear Wheel Bearing Type Noise Gets Louder With Increasing Speed

I have a rear wheel bearing type of noise that appears to come from the rear. My vehicle is front wheel drive and has 135K miles.

I checked the rear wheel bearing/hub assys on both sides and they had no play but I changed them anyway. Noise did not change at all. Rear tires have normal wear, no cupping or anything. Noise gets louder with increasing speed up to a point and then remains a constant level.

My next thought is to check the front wheel bearings/cv joints.

Prius (2004-09) :: Transmission Noise / Humming That Follows The Speed Of Car

I've noticed about the last 4 weeks my 2008 touring Prius (85k miles) seems be running louder than it always used to. There is a sort of humming noise that follows the speed of the car, whether the engine is running or not, in neutral or drive. No warning indicators on the dash. No change in mileage observed. Seems slower to accelerate too, though I'm not entirely sure. I'll probably bring it in to get checked.

Sierra :: 2006 GMC Z71 - Noise Starts At About 50-55 And Keeps Getting Louder With Speed

I have a 2006 GMC Sierra z71 has 159,000 miles on it. I've already changed the front hub bearings and the tires are brand new. Brakes are in good shape as well. I also had someone check the front differential bearings too. Said the front diff was good. The noise starts at about 50-55 and keeps getting louder with speed. The noise is similar to a hub bearing noise. When you let off the throttle the noise is more pronounced then when on the throttle. I'm thinking it's te cv axles. The cv boots don't have any tears in them and I have no clicking noise. But I've also heard that cv axles can make this noise. Also the noise seems to change when I hit bumps. that's also why I'm thinking cv axles. Because cv axles are the only thing that move with the suspension and also rotate.

Camry :: Road Noise Noticeable Starting At 30 Mph And Gets Louder With Speed

2008 SE V6 Convertible : I have noticed that the road noise has gotten significantly worse. I don't think it's the tires as they have been well inflated and still have about 80% tread left. The noise gets very noticeable starting at 30 mph and gets louder with speed, (by the time I reach 70MPH / 2.5K RPM its already VERY LOUD) and you can even feel the "grinding" vibration in the accelerator pedal and steering wheel. It seems to from the front. A kind of cycling hum (not constant; but broken like the tip of a helicopter blades). The noise does not change in turns; and it's not a loud clunking noise.

GMC - Sonoma :: 2002 - Noise That Gets Louder When Increase Speed While Driving

I have a 2002 GMC Sonoma, 4wd, with about 100,000 miles on it. It recently started making a new noise. When you start it up and drive it, it makes a noise that gets louder as you increase speed. At about 20-25mph, it sounds like an airplane. The noise decreases as you slow down. If you shift into neutral and rev the engine, the noise is not affected, eliminating anything in the engine. When you slow down to stop, you feel a slight sensation in the brake pedal, like the transmission downshifting (this is when you are nearly stopped), and the noise goes away. You can then drive as normal with no noise at all until after the truck is restarted and driven after being shut off and parked. Then you repeat the cycle. The truck is in 2wd when this happens.

Pontiac - Vibe :: Humming Noise Seems To Be Located At Lower Part Just In Front Of Driver

I have a 2005 Pontiac Vibe with almost 50,000 miles. Lately it's been making a very small noise that seems to be located at the lower part of the car just in front of the driver...I will have difficultly describing it, but it's sort of like huhmmm. It was only happening every once in a while, but is now more frequent. If I had my radio on, I would not hear it as it is not particularly loud. It happens when I driving...ie foot on gas... but not necessarily when I speed up or slow down.

Ford F-150 (2009-2014) :: Clicking Noise That Gets Faster / Louder With Fan Speed On Passenger Side

Having an issue with the 09 Platinum 5.4. Recently the air ducts to the passenger side have been routed straight to hell. The blow hot regardless of the setting, the driver side is fine. I can hear a clicking noise that gets faster/louder with the fan speed on the passenger side. I am thinking blend door motor? Possible location of this part and some replacement instructions? Wife and kids aren't digging this hot heat all the time, its a very uncomfortable ride in such a great truck!

Prius (2004-09) :: Engine Sounding Louder Than Normal If Accelerating At Quick Speed

I took my car to the car wash and they seemed to take longer to vacuum/wash it and while driving it away, I noticed something was off. It seems like the engine is louder than normal. Before when starting the car, it would take 30 seconds to a minute before the battery/engine would come on. Then while accelerating to about 25-35 mph, then the engine would come into gear. When going on the freeway, if accelerating at a quick speed it would sound really loud. Now, it seems like instead of silent, quiet, a little louder, louder and loudest - it's moved to the next level. When starting the car, the engine starts right away and when driving away (at less than 25 mph), the engine sound like I am on the freeway and when I'm on the freeway it sound like I'm trying to gun the engine. I don't know what it could be.

Kia - Rondo :: Humming / Buzzing Sound Getting Louder As Drive Went On

I have a 2008 Kia Rondo. Recently we took a trpi. Halfway there, we started to hear a humming/buzzing sound (similar to that of a remote control airplane). It was the loudest when we would stop at a stop light/sign, but would stop when the car was put into park. The noise grew louder and louder as the drive went on. The noise was coming from the front region of the car, but couldn't decipher exactly where. We were able to hear it from the inside of the car as well as the outside. The noise stopped once we reached our destination, but then started back up again on the way back home. Once home, it stopped again and our auto shop couldn't find anything wrong with it. What it could be. Hasn't done it since we've been home. Wondering if driving through the mountains put stress on it. What could be making that noise?

Sonata NF (2006-10) :: Engine Sound Much Louder Like Revving / Humming

In my 2007 Sonata, I hit a poorly placed high manhole cover in a dip in the road, in the dark, going 30MPH, whacked it good before I could adjust...

I then pulled the car over, it seemed to go dead, then the car did crank back up, the engine sounded much louder, like a loud rev/hum, not quiet like usual.

I next drove a mile to a c-store, transmission seemed OK, no leaks, did see a check engine light briefly, but it disappeared. Car cranked OK, headed home, same sound right at cranking and at moderate speed.

Finally, I jacked the car up on the front left, from research appears that the plastic engine shields got smacked good along the front and near the right tire and bent back quite a bit on the left side. There seems to be no other structural damage that my untrained eye could see, just one indention you'll see in a couple of the photos that I think is part of the car design at that spot.

Again, no leaks, no smoke, no caution lights of any kind now.

Photos are attached...

My Hyundai's engine now sounds like a Mustang! Hoping it's just the engine noise from these plastic covers now being bent/destroyed in some spots, exposing the engine and the typical noise you'd hear without them...

Subaru - Legacy :: Humming Noise From Rear That Increases With Speed

Recently I have been hearing a humming noise that increases with speed. I don't get it when the car stops. I think it's coming from the rear but only when the car is moving and steadily increases in volume as speed increases and comes down as speed comes down. It's not coming from engine or transmission but coming from the rear wheels. Could it be a bearing? or both bearings? Is hard to make out if it's left or right of the windows when the windows are closed. Car drives great and has mileage in the 80's

Camry :: 2007 LE - Humming Noise From Rear End That Increases And Decreases With Vehicle Speed

2007 Camry LE 2.4

I just replaced the rear pads and rotors with no issues other than having to bang the cr@p out of the left rotor with a hammer to get it to come off. Now at pretty much all speeds I am hearing a rythmic humming-type sound that increases and decreases with vehicle speed. It's not a constant hum but more like one-hum-per-tire-revolution type of sound. It is coming from the left side as far as I can tell.

Thinking I had damaged the wheel bearing (and after searching the forums extensively) I replaced it with a brand new bearing from Advance Auto Parts. I re-checked the pads, rotors, all bolts, everything is lubricated properly, etc. Just took it out for a test drive and the noise is still there. Sometimes it gets louder when breaking but not always. I rotated tires and the sound did not follow the tire. The pads aren't stuck or rubbing excessively as far as I can tell.

This sort of thing has happened in the past on the left rear. It would sometimes happen when I swapped the summer tires for my winter tires on steelies, the left rear would make the humming sound, I'd take the wheel off and put it back on 180 degrees rotated and the sound would go away. I've done that a few times too and it has not worked.

Prius (2004-09) :: Exhaust Noise Has Been Getting Louder

So recently (since Thursday morning last week) I noticed the exhaust noise of my prius has been louder. Today I experimented a bit and I'm pretty sure it's exhaust related. The car is pretty loud if there is any load on the engine, although still mostly quiet if it's idling. There are no errors presenting and mileage is still great.

Otherwise, it's loud and resonates at a few different rpm points, and I found that when the engine spins under breaking (foot-off coasting over 42mph or in B mode) it also makes noticeable exhaust noise of the same type.

I'm guessing the exhaust is leaking (the sound seems to be coming almost from the left rear seat area? Behind me when I'm driving at least).

Pontiac - Bonneville :: 2004 - Sputtering In Rain Only At Speed Below 40 Miles Per Hour

My 2004 Pontiac Bonneville has this problem sometimes when I start it up in the rain, if I start it up in the morning. It will sputter while I am in drive or reverse, and driving below 40 MPH. When I hit 40, it goes away and then will come back when I slow down or stop. It usually goes away after 20-30 minutes of driving.

This never happens when it's dry. My car runs smooth and normally when it's dry. When I took it into the shop, they could not find a problem.

Toyota - Sequoia :: 2004 - Louder Than Normal Road Noise Coming From Front End

I recently noticed louder than normal road noise coming from he front end of my SUV, which is right at 150K miles. I thought it was bad tires; both front ones had uneven wear. Got new ones and the noise is still there, loudest at 35-45 mph. The tire guys said I need new tie rod ends. From what little I know about those, they don't make the kind of noise I'm getting, but what do I know. I do know they are safety hazard and plan to get them fixed pronto. But will that fix the noise? I had the left side wheel bearings replaced last year, but this sound is not the same as this. Much less pronounced, but still fairly bothersome.
