Lexus GX 2004-09 :: 2006 - Broke Front Shock?
I have a 2006 gx470 and have recently had the front shock/strut break just above the lower bolt at the lower arm. Have not done any harsh driving. what causes it?

This car is turning out to be a huge disappointment. Bad battery right away, oil pressure switch, brake lamp switch, front driver seat guide rails broken and now premature shock failure.
I had taken the SF to get a tire plugged after vacation as I had picked up a nail. The car was a bit noise riding along the way home, but I just chalked it up to crap Manitoba roads. The tech who fixed my tire showed me the oil leaking from both front shocks.
Told me that the driver side was pretty much 100% pooched. 2011 with only 42,000 KMs. On top of the other things this car has needed, I am ready to trade it in for a truck. A truck will meet our needs much better.
GMC - Yukon :: 2007 - Front Shock Appeared To Be Oozing Oil
My 2007 GMC Yukon Denali has 135K miles on it. While changing the spark plugs I noticed that the front shock appeared to be oozing oil (I removed the front wheels and wheel well covers to get at the spark plugs). Does this mean I should be thinking about new shocks? The truck appears to be riding fine.

When turning left , I felt that there was a shock from front wheels. The service person told me that it was a differential problem and the controller unit is needed to reprogrmmed. Is it true? When my Touareg ran over the bump, I felt that the front suspensions were not adjusted well. Is it normal?

There they recommended for me to replace the front shocks strut assembly--not quite remembering the reason but they told me that it needs to get done. Any trick that they have used before for removing the Front Passenger Shock Top Nut without removing the A/C Accumulator? The Nut I need to remove is right underneath the A/C Accumulator and I can't get a 15mm Deep Socket on the nut so that I can use an air tool to take off the nut like I did on the Driver side. Is my only option to use a 15mm ratcheting box end wrench or remove the accumulator? On AllData, they show the pics of the Driver Side which is easy to access with just a swivel and a couple of extensions.

So after a few months of having these springs on the car I noticed that as of recently there is a loud CLUNK coming from the front shock area. This specifically occurs in the morning while backing up out of the driveway, after the car has been sitting for a long time. This happens at low speed as soon as i turn the wheel to align with the street. To make matters worst, there seems to be a more persistent noise coming from the rear whenever i go over any sort of rough surface, almost as if something is loose . I took it to my local VW to see if they could replicate the noises and they did. I did not mention I had springs on the car (VWR), should I have ? What could be causing these issues?

My 2008 Santa Fe (3.3 2WD) produces a knocking sound from the front every time I go on a bump while the wheel is turned. I can pretty much reproduce it at will. Occasionally, I hear the same sort knock from the rear as well, but I cannot confirm that it is consistent.
I do suspect that something is wrong with the struts. The only issue is that the car has 67k KM (41k miles), and to me, that seems a little early for that sort of thing to happen. My driving is pretty standard on standard roads, although winters up here tend to produce potholes that I sometimes cannot avoid.
I've had my struts fail on my last car (2000 Mazda Protege), but that was 9+ years old and with almost 3 times as much mileage on it.

I replaced all my shock and the last one front passenger side gave me fits. The lower mounting bolt stripped and I am unable to secure the shock. My question is..is it safe to drive around without the front shock to get over to the parts house? I plan to use back roads and low speeds. 20 mile round trip.

Looking to install rear sway bar on 2001 Ex. and noticed a skid plate looking thing in front of passenger side rear shock. Two questions:
1. What is that, and
2. Do I need to remove it to put on sway Bar?
Subaru - Outback :: Fluid Leak Near Front Left Shock And On Automatic Transmission Filter
As I was changing my oil last week I noticed that there was a thick, dark green fluid near my front left shock and on the automatic transmission filter. The fluid appeared to be sprayed on the underbody of the car. I am unable to notice any change in automatic shifting or in the front left shock. The photo shows the filter (?transmission filter) on the top, the shock is at the bottom right. This is slightly behind the left front tire. This was not anywhere else under the car and did not appear to be road grime.

I need to know what the name of the part is that the front shock mounts to on my 2000 f250. Its terribly rusted on both sides and id like to learn more about replacing it. Might me called a shock mount? It saddles around the main frame on the truck.

04 Phaeton V8....Have read all FAQ's regarding bulb replacement and should be no problem... Driver's side DRL flickered and finally quit...I need a straight answer on whether their is a difference in the bulb for low or high beams....
I am aware my problem is the low beam light...However, if I relate to previous posts the only part# mentioned is Osram 66043...D1S 85V 35W.... Is this for both low & high beams????
Compatible part numbers: 66042 66140 66142 66143 66144 66145 66147 and many other 4300K
D1S bulbs.
So they all work the same ? I finally ordered the one made in 09 Part#66145 but still not sure if I did the right thing.... Had the car for three days before light fails.....bummer
Phaeton :: Trunk Lock Switch On Driver Side Quit Working
The trunk lock switch on the d/s inner door panel has stopped working. Also both remotes won"t open the trunk as well. Everything else seems to be OK.
