Passat (B7) :: 2016 - Way To Change The Settings On The Remote Start?
Traded in my Jeep Wrangler for a 2016 Passat Execline and couldn't be happier!
My only question is, is there any way to change the settings on the remote start? I lock my car, hit the remote start, car turns on and all is well.
But when I unlock my car, the engine stops running. It just seems a little redundant to have the car shut itself off when its already locked, as other manufacturers seem to keep the car running after the unlock button has been hit.

Passat (B7) :: Remote Start Shuts Off When Unlock The Door
Just passed 700 miles on my new baby, loving every minute of it. What I don't quite understand is why the remote start shuts off when you unlock the door. That just seems so counterintuitive. I'm sure there's a legitimate safety reason why, but it seems to add more wear to the motor by turning it off and on so many more times since one has to start it again once getting inside.
Any way to hack the system in such a way that once remote started the car doesn't shut off when you get in?
Logistically it might be an issue since I'm sure stepping on the brake would shut the car off when running on remote start (since no actual key gets inserted into a keyhole)...but then again the key being in proximity could permit driving the vehicle... I dunno.
Passat (B5) :: Engine Does Not Start And Alarm Goes Off When Unlock With Remote Or Main Key
So my remote and main key got into a washing machine...Put new batteries in it but no go. Car does not start with either main key or valet. When I unlock the driver side door with either key, engine does not start and alarm goes off immediately. From searching the forums I assume I have 15 seconds from opening door and I am well within 15 seconds. Remote should not be necessary as transponder used to validating key is a passive RFID in the key part.
Dealership so far has been unuseful. I told them I can't start the car and they said yeah come in and we'll program you a new remote. When I got there (by motorcycle) they told me they need the car. It's a 2000 Passat GLX V6.
Camry :: 2009 Hybrid - Disable Remote For Oil Change?
I have a mechanic that I've always gone to for oil changes, repairs, etc. I just bought a 2009 Toyota Camry Hybrid in October 2012, and when I needed the oil changed, my mechanic said the remote needed to be disabled in order to change the oil (something about the car turning on automatically when it hits a certain temperature, I think - not too sure there), but he didn't know how to do this. How to disable the remote/key or if this needs to be done to change the oil/filter? I don't really know much about cars, but I searched the manual to no avail.
Also, probably a dumb question, but I heard somewhere that you don't have to change oil on hybrids as often as non-hybrids (my last car was a Chevy Equinox). Is that true? It seems like my maintenance required light on the hybrid came on after about 3000 or so miles.
Golf IV / Jetta IV :: 2000 VR6 Remote Not Working After Battery Change
I have changed the batteries in the remote for my MY 2000 Jetta MKIV VR6. Now the remote is not working. A search suggests I need to program the remote using a specific procedure. Alas, I have found various procedures, and so far none has worked.
First of all, I have two keys, Both were functional. One still is.
What I tried:
-Put key with fob in ignition and turn key to accessory mode position.
-Wait 5 seconds
-Hold lock button on 5 down for 10 seconds.
-Turn ignition off and remove key.
-Close doors on car and trey to lock/unlock - not working!
I'm sure I can find a few more suggested methods, but what's the proper method?
Lexus LS 2007+ :: Key Remote Won't Close Windows And Moonroof - Change Default To Information Screen?
Only had my 2011 LS about a month now.
Other cars I have seen will allow you to use the remote and close all windows and moon roof. Looking at the LS460 manual it looks like the dealer can program our remote to open the windows and moon roof with the remote. But it does not say anything about closing.
Also a question on the Navigation. Can you change the default screen to the Information screen? Mine always goes straight to the map when I start up. Could not find a place to change it.

I purchased a replacement hella remote for my Passat. I have read countless websites and internet posts on how to reprogram the remote. All of which I have tried and none have worked. I know you need two keys and the FCC ID from the old remote must match the replacement. How to program the remote for a 98 passat? I know the dealer would do it but it is a ridiculous price for something that should take about 3 minutes to do.

Is there a way to open the windows from the key fob/remote? This would be really nice since the remote start function is so poorly implemented.
My BMW opens the windows if I hold down the unlock button on the remote or if I put the key in the door lock cylinder and turn and hold (can also close the windows with the key in lock, but not the remote). I've tried and didn't get it to work, but my remote start also gives me fits, so I'm not sure that I'm actually holding the button down right or long enough.
Passat (B5) :: Remote Won't Unlock All Doors
Today at lunch break, I'm able to unlock all doors by double-clicking the unlock button on the remote. No more than 4-5 hours later, the remote only unlocks the driver door; it no longer unlocks the passenger or 2 rear doors; car is a 2001.5 Passat. I'm also still able to pop the trunk. Just for the heck of it, I tried my other remote, and I get the same results.

I installed a non-auto euro switch. I tried scandinavian drls and that left all my exterior lights on at all switch positions, even off and when the key is off. I switched no drls and the switch works as it is supposed to. I tried enabling some of the comfort stuff. I want the remote to be able to open and close the windows, but I can't get it to do it. I think i have the right boxes checked in vag com, but no luck.

2004 Passat 1.8T ... The unlock part of the remote won't work ... It used to, but won't now ... The trunk release and lock buttons on the remote work just fine though ... I've got a 04 Passat TDI wagon with factory keyless locks. The remote/keyless entry range sucks! And yes I put a new battery in it. I've had cheapo alarms operate much further than this factory system. Can I extend the range somehow? Does the keyless transmit through the antenna? Are there any range boosters or ways to make this a real world usable feature?
