Passat (B5) :: Air Filter Fan Running When Engine Turned Off
The fan inside my air filter box, or turbo charger intercooler (not sure of correct technical term) is running on and off for several hours after engine has been shut off. I believe this is running my battery down. Is this intercooler/fan suppose to run after the engine is shut off?

Drove fairly fast (160km/hr or 100 miles/hr) then took an exit down a ramp and had to stop at a red light. Noticed all of a sudden that the engine was running bit rougher and then noticed the yellow engine light blinking. I know to turn off the engine immediately when this occurs but then all of a sudden engine light turned off and car was running smooth again.
Car has been reliable for 7 years - proper maintained, synthetic oil, 171000km, timing belt changed, burns very little oil, good torque. Should I have it checked by the dealer (fantastic fair vw dealer)?
Passat (B7) :: CEL Came On, Turned Out A Pump That Cools Down The Turbo
So a week ago the Check Engine light comes on. I take it in and just got a call that the Secondary Cooling Pump has failed. Apparently it's a pump that cools down the turbo and other things after the car is shut off. I only have 44,000 miles on the TDI too.

My CEL turned on about 2 weeks ago. I took it to autozone and they ran it, and it came up as that my car is running too lean. Would this have to do with my MAF sensor? Also, It seems that my car is also burning oil. I have a 06 passat 2.0T.

Went outside to start my '99 V6 and nothing! No interior lights, no door chime, no annoying ding ding with the key in the ignition. The car ran great yesterday but I noticed it sounded like the cooling fan was running long after the car was turned off in my garage.
I tried using a car starter/charger and charged it up for 3 hours - was reading a positive charge on the gauge- but it won't start. When I get ready to crank the car with the charger attached to it, the fan noise kicks in again but it isn't coming from the radiator fan- it sounds like it is coming from under the air intake for the air filter.
When I attempt to start the car,I can best describe the sound as a machine gun like cranking noise that lasts as long as I turn the key. I am hoping it isn't the starter. The battery is less than 2 years old with about 10k miles on it.
Ford Super Duty (1999-2016) :: F250 - Engine Is Running Hot / Fan Still Spins For A While After Engine Turned Off
My 2007 f250 power stroke 6.0. My A/C comp went out. After replacing it I was told that my fan clutch is bad and will cause the new ac to go out. My engine is not running hot. The fan still spins for a while after engine is turned off.
1) Could it have not been re installed correctly?
2) How do I know my Fan Clutch is bad?
3) How do I replace it myself?
Touareg :: CEL Turned On - Engine Started Running Rough
This weekend my CEL went on and stayed there. Everything seemed otherwise fine until yesterday, when the engine started running rough (like it is missing) and the CEL will flash on and off periodically. When I got home, the exhaust smelled like gas. I have an appointment with the dealer one week from today, and am driving my "spare" car in the interim.

I have a 2015 Somata ECO, while backing out of the drive the mailman came so I stopped (car running) closed the door went got the mail returned to the car and the doors automatically locked. While stopped, engine running, in D, the engine cut off just like I turned the key off. I sat there for about thirty minutes and on the 7th or 8th try, the engine finally started. I drove it back to camp and thinking it might be the CPS, I swapped it out. Unfortunately it must be something else because I can't get it started anymore.
ICP and IPR are fairly new, but I unplugged the ICP and tried to start it anyway. It didn't choke out (like it was a fuel issue) but I checked the fuel bowl anyway and the pressure builds fine. I got it restarted once, so it can't be a fuse but I checked them all anyway.
Oil pressure builds to 780+ when cranking. Batteries still have plenty of cranking juice and without my AE, I'm frustrated beyond belief.
Passat (B5) :: 1999 1.8 Turbo Automatic AEB Engine - Cylinder 1 Misfire Code P0301
I have a 99 Volkswagen Passat 1.8 Turbo Automatic AEB engine. I recently did a rebuild on it and ever since I keep getting this code P0301 that says "cylinder 1 misfire". The engine is also running rich and the spark plug in cylinder 1 keeps getting gummed up. I've changed the coil and the spark plugs and the injectors and it works temporarily but then the problem keeps reoccurring.

I have a 1999 passat 1.8t with 197k miles. When I drive if you listen really closely the engine makes a pretty cool sound like a turbo winding. It's a really really low whooooooo on the first and second gear. You cant hear it unless you have the windows down and there's like no other cars. Is this normal? My friend said the turbo might be going bad ?

So I brought the Sonata home and she sat in the garage for 5 days as I was traveling. Then when I got back, I was so eager to take her for a drive. At this point she only had 72 miles on the Odometer. When I started her up, I thought the engine sounded rougher and louder than usual. My other car is a Turbo Diesel and that does not make this loud a clatter. After a few minutes of idling and driving, the engine quietened down quite a bit.

Passat (B7) :: 2015 - Engine Is A Little Loud During Idle
Had the car for less then a week, i put about 100 miles on it so far and the 1.8 TSI engine a tad louder then what expect it when idling at stop light (from with in the car, windows closed). Its louder then our Smart car by few decibels and the engine is right behind driver seat. Our 2015 Camry SE with 2.5L engine is dead silent when you are in the car. Is this normal for this engine or Passat? Or this the high pressure fuel pump, injectors or chain, that are responsible for the extra noise?

Yesterday on my way home my engine turned off. I had just turned onto a side street so i went to give it some gas. Nothing. I tried again and still nothing. I looked down to make sure i was actually pressing the gas and not the brake and and thats when i noticed that the speedo and rpm gauges both were at 0. They were still lit up and the radio was still on and the windows still worked. So i pulled over and a few minutes later i tried to start it back up and it started up fine. I have been driving it all day and i have not had any problems.

So today my brother was changing oil and he turned on the car after the pan and filter were drained and the car was on for good 15-20 seconds before it was turned off. It was driven a few miles after I put in the oil.The car is running but the engine seems a little louder than before. Just wanted to know how significant of damage has been caused and what to expect in the next few days, months, years!!?? If it ever gets to see them.
