Passat (B7) :: Cracking Noise From Dash Near Windshield
I've had my 2012 passat for one week and I love it but on two different occasions I've heard cracking noise coming from the top of the dash where it meets the windshield right after I started driving. It goes away after a few seconds and on both occasions it was hot outside.

I bought an 07 for my dad one owner with 89000 miles on it and all the records it's has been less than 2 years and now 125000 miles
The dashboard is cracking, electrical issues, last time was a 700 bill to replace one of the computers, now the key remote doesn't work at all, and yes I changed the battery it is normal because the mileage and age on this cars.

i get a cracking, squeaking sound when I ride over a hard ripple on the road. It's usually from the right side of the Dashboard. How can I remove or adjust the Dashboard? Now that my little one is 8 years old, it's developing squeaking. What parts can i "oil" up to reduce this?

My research showed some of this happening on some of the older Lexus but couldn't find any on the IS that are this new.
I plan on taking it in and hoping to have them replace under warranty. Just seems kind of odd with only 20K miles. I have never used anything other than water and a micro to clean the seats.

I had a couple people in the bed of my new F150 SCrew with the 5.5 ft. bed and it sounded like the metal was cracking as they walked around in the bed. Is that normal? It didn't sound good.

I have a 2014 IS 250 F Sport and in less than 500 miles, the car has this "LOUD" clunking/thumping noise coming from the rear when I pass a bump or uneven road. Brought it back to the dealership but the Lexus specialist/technicians said this noise is the characteristic of the vehicle which of course it cannot be a characteristic of the vehicle. This is not the 1st Lexus vehicle I own.
Also, navigation/radio shuts off while the car is in motion? Dashboard just turns dark (completely blackout) while the car is in motion??
Ford F-150 (2009-2014) :: HVAC Malfunctioning - Getting Popping Noise Under The Dashboard - A/C Not Working Properly
I have a 2011 f150 xl with the basic climate system. I'm having a couple issues with my hvac system. Initially when I took over payments on this truck I was getting a little popping noise under the dash that would go away after a couple pops. I took the bezel off to look at the radio and how it was mounted for a separate issue when I put everything back together I started the truck and now that popping is constant (it is the blend motor actuator, I've already determine that and have a new one coming) the other issue I got is that now the ac will only blow through defrost no matter what button I push. When I start up it will blow out the defrost like the flap is in default then it will blow out of the dash for a few seconds and then go back to blowing out of the defrost. I still have speed control tho I don't have 1 ,which I didn't have before that, and I haven't tried temp yet but I'm assuming it still works. Do the newer trucks still use vacuum to control the flaps or is it all electronic? I've noticed when I look at the actuators they all have a plug end instead of a vacuum port. And would the defrost vent issue be a dash control issue or would it be the actuator for that one a
s well?

Passat (B5) :: V6 Shift Knob Is Cracking
I've got a 2001.5 v6 passat w/ auto and my shift knob has this cool burl veneer on it. I think it's real wood but it's pretty thin and it's got cracks on the front and the back. I can't see any simple way to remove the stick so that I can try to glue it. How to do that. But it's a standard tiprtonic shifter ... probably the standard on that model.

I have a rattling noise from the front left side, and that only happens when i go over pat holes and bad road. I thought that it had to do something with my left shock absorbers but the service consultant insists it's from the dashboard. They already tried to fix it before and did not do it. What could it be.
Another thing is I have some kind of wrinkles on my dashboard especially visible when the sun hits it and looks really ugly, they told me they won't replace it unless it breakes apart,...are they supposed to replace it or no? [URL] .....
Passat (B7) :: 2012 - Door Pillars Cracking
Noticed the shiny black door pillars forming hairline cracks? My 2012 is now over 3 years old and has 34k miles and is not garage kept. The pillars are starting to show cracks pretty bad in what looks like the clear coat. The drivers side is much worse, but I think that is due to that side getting more sun during the day while I'm at work. With that being said, I still don't think these should be cracking this soon.

Sort of sounds like the body is flexing when I initially back out of my driveway. Slight drop-off from the driveway to the road, and a kind of loud creak/cracking/popping noise seems to emanate from the right side of the car. No noise I can notice while driving and once the car does it, it takes a while before it will do it again, like after driving on level ground for a bit. Frame issues maybe?
