Civic - Honda :: Radio Static During Rear Defroster Use And Cell Phone Charging
I have a 2007 Honda Civic 2 dr. A couple years ago the manufacturer cell phone charger was blown in a few days of use with the cigarette lighter. The manufacturer replacement was next blown, and then a cheap off-brand was blown. Last fall, turning on the rear defroster began causing static interference on the FM stations. Several months later, I noticed that use of the cigarette lighter as a cell phone charger also caused radio static.
Next week, the rear windshield will be removed and replaced during a body repair. Should I ask for a replacement windshield, or just for attention to the connection with the electric? What else can be done about either of these causes of FM static?
Yaris/Scion & Vitz :: Radios Shuts Off With Phone Charging
I have an 07 yaris sedan. The car runs great and has had no mechanical issues as of yet. The only issues we have seen is that the radio shuts off when a phone is charged(or any device), the brakes are pressed, the windshield wipers come on, or when shifting from park to drive(I assume this is happening when the reverse lights come on).
View 2 RepliesPrius (2010-12) :: Phone Not Charging When Plugged Into Port Under The Dash
I noticed last night that my phone wasn't charging when plugged into the port under the dash. I tried the port in the arm rest and it too wasn't supplying power. The USB port did charge, however; so it's a limited issue, but one that will require a service call. My Prius is only two months old...
View 6 RepliesPrius V (Audio/Electronics) :: Phone Speakers Would Silence During Call And Charging
I recently bought a 2014 Prius v, and I love most things about it, but so far I absolutely despise the way the audio system interacts with my iPhone 4S.
-If I plug the phone into the USB to charge it, the phone speakers will get silenced, and all audio will get sent to the car speakers. This happens even if the car speakers are off, and in that case the phone just goes totally silent. This would not be such a big deal except...
-The car often decides that I am on a call, when I am not on a call, and I am depending on the phone for Google Maps turn by turn voice directions. The screen on the car shows me as being in a call and silences the phone's audio. Occasionally it will play a brief bit of audio that sounds like it was recorded from within the car. If I push the button to hang up on the call nothing happens, and I just have to find my way to my destination without any directions. Or if I have enough battery I can disconnect the USB cable and get there using voice directions played on the phone speaker.
-The same issue sometimes interrupts audio playback when streaming audio from the phone.
-If I answer a call while I have audio playing, the audio keeps playing, and there's no apparent way to turn it off using the car controls. The car's next song and previous song buttons quit working too, so I'm at the mercy of whatever was on the playlist.
-I have to turn the volume up incredibly high to hear people who call me. When I end the call, the car suddenly starts playing a song from my iTunes music at deafening volume, even if I was not playing music before the call started.
Touareg :: 2010 - Music On Phone Through Radio?
How I can listen to the music on my phone through my radio? There is no aux port in the console or anywhere else that I can find. I'm pretty sure there is a way to do it via Bluetooth but I can't, for the life of me, remember how.
View 2 RepliesLexus GS 2013+ :: Turn Off Bluetooth On Phone To Release Call And Listen To Radio
I all of a sudden starting having problem with my Bluetooth connection. I have an iPhone 6s (since September). It has latest operating system.
Now whenever I receive a text or notification on my phone it connects the Bluetooth. It shouldn't at all with app notifications. It then does release the connection.
Nav screen says call in progress. Hanging up phone from steering wheel does nothing. I must turn off Bluetooth on phone to release "the call" and listen to the radio.
Corolla / Matrix 2009-13 :: 2012 Toyota LE - Radio Phone Button Showing Unavailable On Display
I just purchased a 2012 Toyota Corolla LE. The factory radio has a 'Phone' button on the right hand side of the radio. When I push the button, the display shows 'Unavailable.' What this button is for? With the Blu Logic kit, it has a separate phone button that mounts in the dash knockouts. Can the phone button on the radio be used instead?
View 2 RepliesToyota - Corolla :: 2008 - Radio / CD Player / Clock And Charging Port Shorted Out
Yesterday, I went to charge a friend's GPS in my 2008 Toyota Corolla. I discovered that a dime was stuck in the charging port (but why, by the way). I had to use a pen to carefully get the dime out, but in the process, I shorted out the car radio/CD player, clock, and the charging port. Everything else electrical works. How can I fix this problem?

Experience issues with their XM radio signal? It seems I have "no signal" more often than not.
I also have XM on my 05 Suburban and never experience a loss of signal other than going under over passes or through tunnels.
Golf/GTI VII :: Satellite Radio Stuck On Acquiring Signal?
I have a valid subscription and already tried refreshing the signal. I'm not even getting the preview sound. All other features and bands work fine. Tried resetting everyone to no avail.
View 3 RepliesSonata I45 (YF - 2011+) :: FM Radio Signal Fading / Stations Dropping Off
2013 2.0L Limited with dealer tint. Since new no issues with the radio on the car (XM or FM).. the last few months the signal seems to be continuously getting weaker... stations are now dropping off and only really local stations come in clear.
What could be causing this? Other people and spouses car have no issues picking up the same stations so its not atmospheric. I doubt its the tint, it was done by the dealer and I've had no issues for 3.5 years.
Camry 2012+ :: Satellite Radio Reception - Lose Signal All The Time
I bought, new, a 2012 Camry back in 2012. I got the satellite radio option. The reception with satellite is horrible. On the clearest of days, I lose signal all the time making it useless trying to listen to it.
Yes, I understand vegetation can hinder reception. But, it shouldn't to this extent. Not long after I bought the Camry, I purchased a 2010 Ford Fusion. It, too, had satellite radio.
I think, in the 2 years I had the Fusion, I lost signal 2 times. On the cloudiest, foggiest, snowiest, and raniest of days, the Fusion never lost sat signal.
I had the dealer check out the system and they found nothing wrong. I've let my subscription to Sirius expire since I can't even get a decent signal. Is this typical of the satellite radio with Camry's???
Corolla / Matrix 2009-13 :: 2010 Factory XM Radio Module - No Signal
We have the basic stock CD / radio model number A518A1 and the XM Radio module with the fit kit installed in the passenger side wheel well in the trunk in a 2010 Corolla S.
Installation of the XM Radio & fit kit was dead simple and we're using the built-in OEM antenna on the roof of the car.
The problem we're having is the dreaded NO SIGNAL message when trying to listen to XM Radio.
I have the Lynx portable XM Radio installed in my car and when both cars are in the driveway, I can get the signal all day long and in her car she gets the NO SIGNAL message.
We've already called XM Radio and had the signal resent to the radio numerous times with no success.
I've gone to our Toyota dealer and the only thing they can recommend is to replace the OEM roof antenna. That part alone is $80 and you have to completely disassemble the headliner to get at the antenna.
Wiring up an actual XM antenna to take the place of the OEM roof antenna? I've searched the web and can't find an adapter plug.
Gen 3 Prius (Audio/Electronics) :: Factory Installed Radio, Signal Faded In And Out
Today while driving around on the back roads the radio signal faded in and out quite a bit. I don't remember it happening before like that. I was curious if a Pioneer head unit would have the same issue due to using the same antenna or if it's just the factory head unit causing the bad reception.
View 5 RepliesNissan - Murano :: 2012 - When Radio Is On, Can't Hear The Click Of Turn Signal
Just purchased my 1st SUV - 2012 Nissan Murano. Rides good, handles great. Seats a little firm. Problem: when the radio is on (not really very loud), can't hear the click of the turn signal -- it's set at a very low volume. As it doesn't stop clicking after changing lanes, how can I increase the sound of the click so I'm not one of those goofballs driving down the freeway making a perpetual left turn?
View 6 RepliesPassat (B7) :: Bluetooth Won't Sync With Phone
I let my wife drive the car for the past few weeks. This weekend I took it for a 2 hour drive, and I couldn't get my bluetooth to sync with my phone. There is no longer anything related to bluetooth on the display, so I can't even scroll through options to try to sync. The voice command button does not work either, when pushed it does nothing. My car has almost 50k miles so this will not be covered if I take it back to the dealership, so if possible I would like to fix this myself.
