Mazda - Mazda6 :: 2010 - Tail Lights Melting On Both Sides?
Ok, I just bought a 2010 Mazda 6 off company lease from a friend and noticed the rear tail lights are melting on both sides - yes, actually melting. Original bulbs are as installed. Brought it to the dealer and of course its out of warranty with 48,000 miles & no Mazda won't repair it (for free anyway). Original bulbs. Is this a problem with Mazdas and are there many documented cases?? I'm in the process of brining it to the next level.

So I noticed a yellowish color inside one of my rear LED turn signal housings. When I looked closer, the plastic around LEDs on the bottom half of the outside LED circle was yellow and appeared to be melted (all LEDs worked fine though).

Both brake lights not working. Center brake light works. Cruise control and shifting out of park OK. Fuse in brake circuit OK. Brake light switch is OK: I opened it up and the contacts are OK. Continuity is OK. Bulbs OK. Tail lights and reverse lights OK.
Car was rear-ended by a Durango at the bumper and boot lid about 2 years ago, but there don't seem to be any wires in the effected area. Battery changed 2 months ago: no problems with re-boot.
So I'm thinking short in brake circuit, but the center brake light works, and the fuse is OK. Is there a brake light relay? Inspection due.

Remove or replace the tail lights on a B6 wagon? I'm changing mine out tomorrow with the new smoked tail lights and was wondering if there's anything I should know ahead of time. Or even a step by step order to removing them.

I currently noticed something today, that my euro LED taillights (HELLA smoked) are strobing when i start up my car, only the LEDs (Amber and the brake light). So I noticed a few days ago when driving the turbo around that the temperature gauge fluctuates... ALOT. it will warm up to full operating temp, then when driving will go way down, almost to the cold line again and SLOWLY rise up, and when I mean slowly, I mean it takes about an hour or so to get there.
Well today, I changed the oil, there were about 2 qts in there but the car was about 2k overdue. MY BAD! So upon driving around seattle/bellevue/redmond today, noticed the gauge doing the same thing, and I am stumped, IDK why it would be doing this, the car doesn't overheat or anything.
Also, the girlfriend said that when she was driving the car, in the warmer weather, even while moving the temp gauge read almost hot, and the car was telling her to shut it off etc... I seriously am at a lose here.
The other night we noticed the TAIL light was out, but the brake light still worked. Last night we were out with some friends, they said that the TAIL AND BRAKE lights were not working, but ONLY on the drivers side, the passenger side worked as it should, we also noticed that when we hit the brakes, the front drivers corner light comes on and stays on until we take our foot off the brake.

Recently I noticed that my passenger and drivers side tail lights do not get brighter when I hit the brake. However, the center LED lights still are functioning properly. What might be wrong and how to fix it? I thought it might be the break light switch based on what I have read, but I would imagine that the center LED lights would be messed up too if that was the problem.

I (or rather my dad) have a 2007 avalon limited. I'm trying to install a backup camera for him. I don't know if it's something I did now but I see the outer reverse lights (on the car body, rather than trunk lid) don't come on as they should. =I have a Passat TSI 2.0 08 (48.000 Km) and since the begining of the raining season I have noticed that the basis of the lining of the lateral is soaked after rain. In order to investigate it bertter, I have removed the lining and did some tests with water. I came across a problem with the gasket and that hose that drains the water. It looks like the gasket is a little bit loose to press the hose in such a way it insulates its base avoiding water leaking into the trunk. Thus the water rolls outside the hose down to the trunk sides.

I found out last night that all 3 of my brake lights are out. However, my tail lights work, and my turn-signals work. So obviously its not a big wiring deal. I was looking for the brake switch but i don't know where its at because i looked underneath. What fuse is the brake lights cause my manual doesn't have it listed. I drive a 04 Elantra GLS.

Is it possible if Lexus can make it so when the Daytime running lights are on that the tail lights come on? It appears MASS has just passed a law when it is raining and you have your windshield wipers on you have to have your lights on...I leave mine on Auto and have auto windshield wipers so kinda takes away the purpose if I have to turn my lights all the way on each time.
