Passat (B6) :: HID Randomly Not Turn On
I just installed my DDM HID kit and in the beginning it was working fine but then I was seating and re-seating the bulb because I had some glare and now the bulbs will randomly not turn on. Sometimes it's the drivers, sometimes the passenger, sometimes both of them will not turn on

I get home from a business trip today and the wife picks me up in someone elses car. Why? Because the turn signals on her 2002 Passat went out. None of them work.
When you push the signal lever the arrow lights up exactly one time, you hear the familiar turn signal click exactly one time and then nothing....nada...zip.
I just got in a while ago so I haven't had any time to begin checking fuses. I'll look at it in the morning when I've got some light.

I inherited a 99 1.8T Passat wagon. I
so the problem seems that "one in a while" when driving and I turn off the engine, do an errand, then get back in to start it,- it wont turn over. I need to wait a few minutes for it to restart again.
We thought it was a FI 'controller' (the part that sits on the right inner fender under a plastic cover). We replace the non OEM part with an OEM part.
I had the car scanned at VW Corporate and nothing showed up.

Passat (B6) :: 2006 2.0t Will Turn Over Then Die Out Right Away
More times than not lately when I try to start the car, it will turn over then die out right away. Sometimes stay running for 2 seconds, rpms go up to about 1200 then shuts right off. It is sparatic, but can take 20-30 times of starting to happen then. Car has 44k on it.

I was driving to work this morning and my ESP light came on, but wouldn't turn off... I just finished getting my window regulator fixed, so I am really not ready for another repair just yet. Can I continue to drive the car with the light on?

So I went out to my wife's car yesterday in the morning and the car would not turn over. Seemed like a dead battery. The power doors wouldnt even open and the remote would not open anything.
I pulled up my car next to hers and jumped the battery and the car started up right away. I let it charge alittle and the car seemed fine.
I drove around and came back then parked the car and did not use for the remainder of the day.
Today, my wife came outside and tried starting it again and said it was dead again. Luckily my next door neighbor gave her a boost and it started up right away.
I know the battery is pretty new, as the previous owner installed a new Battery back in January of this year from Autozone. I am thinking its the alternator??

I have a 2001 vw passat and I have noticed that sometimes when i am driving and have the ac on i smell gasoline in the car.. Its already 105 degrees.... I do not notice any leaks in my drive way... is this a common problem? I should get check out right away? ..

I got a 98 passsat and my clutch was recently replaced.... my car doesn't start but my battery and starter are good... it must be something with the clutch that the mechanic left out... i have to push start the car every morning and its hard to just even get it out of the driveway and onto the street by myself.... is there any way to turn off the clutch sensor so i don't have 2 clutch in for the engine to turn over....

2001 V6, 5sp .... Engine will not crank/turn over.
Dealer initially thought broken timing belt. They looked again today (through an inspection hole) and belt was still in place and under tension but some teeth seemed to be missing. They THINK it could be a seized water pump that caused this (there was otherwise no indication of a seized water pump). Cams/belts do not move when you try to start it. Dealer said engine would need to be replaced or the damage repaired from trying to start it and causing whatever internal damage this causes..heads, valves, etc. that's where it stands now.

Bought new tires for car. the original tires that came with the car were 16s. i bought her some 18s awhile back and got the tires installed. In the door jam the tires PSI are supposed to be 33psi, but then again tha'ts for 16" rims. well i was slowly bumping up the pressure in each tire and got all the way to 40psi and the light is still on in the dash. What am I doing wrong for this sensor not to turn off. I know 40psi is too much, I am going to let some out but I am getting frustrated with this light on the dash.
